Lenovo G500 win 8.1 Radeon problem

Hi i bought Lenovo g500like a year ago and recently updated my system to win 8.1and then eveything starts. My games FPS drops for 30-40 to 11-12 (games like witcher 2 which should work fine on Radeon HD8750M). So i decided to install new version of AMD CCC but installation always end with problems and gaming still does not improve. Also if i try to turn off inter graphic card in manager it says that AMD drivers are not installed either they do not work properly and to reinstall them. What can i do? Please help!
Here is CCC installation error log.

hi skladzien,
Welcome to the Forums.
For systems that have two GPU (Intel + AMD), you will need to update both the GPU drivers for Win8.1 for the graphics switching to work (chances are, the system is not switching properly to the Radeon HD8750M when playing games and it's only using the Intel Graphics):
Things to try:
1. Navigate to the Control Panel (icon views) > Programs and Features and uninstall anything that relates to Intel Graphics and AMD / ATI Graphics drivers (reboot if necessary).
2. Install these drivers in order and reboot if necessary:
1st: - Intel Video Driver for Windows 8.1 (32-bit, 64-bit)
2nd:- AMD Video Driver for Windows 8.1 (32-bit, 64-bit)
3. Set the power settings of the unit to High Performance and configure the AMD Control Center to max performance.
- Sample image
- Sample image
- Sample image
When finished, try running a game and observe the FPS.
Regards

  • Lenovo G500 Windows 7 AMD radeon Driver

Hello i have recently installed Windows 7 in my Lenovo G500 but i cant seem to find The AMD radeon driver anywhere..please help.

Yes, it is either 5.0.1 or 5.0.2, not sure which.
But it would likely require you purchase Mountain Lion to upgrade. But you can update to 10.7.5 for free to see what you get.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.

  • WIN XP On Lenovo G500 - Intel Core i3-3110M CPU @ 2.40GHz

Because, I must have WIN XP to run some particular applications, I have installed WIN XP SP3 - 32 bit - on my new Lenovo G500 Machine.
Guidance about the necessary drivers for running WIN XP - SP3 - 32 bit is required, as because I am a novice on that count. The Lenovo Download pages do not offer any drivers for WIN XP.
However, the WIN 7 - 32 bit drivers work fine with WIN XP, except the followings:
    1.         Chipset Driver Install
                    Tried     >>   imei110w7.exe

Can anybody out there help me solve these problems. Where is the mistake that I am committing. Any suitable or compatible drivers are urgently required.
    Thanks in advance.

One more thing that I forgot to mention is:
The Device Manager shows the followings with a yellow exclamation mark:
    01. Blutooth USB Host Controller;
    02. Network Controller;
    03. Unknown Device - this I had read that will be recognized after installation of Energy Management;
And, under System Devices (in the Device Manager) PCI Simple Communication Controller - is also shown with a yellow Exclamation.
    Thanks

  • Problems with sytem recovery on Lenovo G500s

Hello, I am new to Lenovo Community.
I have purchased Lenovo G500s just two months ago. Now I am having problem with System Restore. The system is not creating any system restore on its own and when I go to System Protection under System Properties, an error message pops up. Also software like Revo Uninstaller is not able to create a restore point before uninstalling a software (it just stops responding saying creating a restore point).
I am also attaching two screenshots showing the error messages.

Please help me get this fixed as I believe System Restore is an important feature and I would be making sure that I have restore points made in case I need to restore in future.

    Hi Debdutta,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that automatically “System Restore” points are not creating in your G500s Laptop, below are the steps to check and resolve the issue and make sure you un-install any third party Tuning software.
Click on Win+R key together to open Run Window.
Now type in services.msc in the search programs and files and hit enter.
Now you need to check for the “volume shadow copy” service present in the services windows.
After selecting the “volume shadow copy” service you need to right click on the service and select properties and make the startup type as automatic and start the service.
Click ok, restart the computer and check for the issue.
    Hope this helps!!!
Do post us back if the issue still persists.

  • WIN XP Pro on Lenovo G500 - Drivers - Energy Management

I bought a new G500 and asked the vendor to install WIN XP SP3 PRO - 32 bit from my existing disc.
The vendor installed it, but it is not working perfectly.
The Device Manager shows a few items - such as:
    (01.) ACPI/VPC2004 and
(02.) Network Controller (Device ID being PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_32187AA)
    (03.) Bluetooth USB Host Controller
    as unknown items.
Regarding the  (01.) ACPI/VPC2004 the following Lenovo Support page
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/diagnose-and-fix/detail.page?DocID=HT071645
says to download and install Energy Management with proper Operating System. The said page also contains a link, but that link leads to another page:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=DRVR-MATRIX
Here, on the new page, I just can not figure out where to go or what to do.
Can anybody please guide this oldman how to install WIN XP SP 3 Pro - 32 bit on my new G500? What are the drivers required for installationof WIN XP SP 3 Pro - 32 bit and where from to download them (if possible with links to download pages), and a guide about the sequence for driver installation, i.e. which driver to install first (after installation of WIN XP) and which one at the last of the process, so that I can install the same.
    Thanks in advance

Just to add to the knowledge base: I've been installing Windows XP SP3, 32-bit edition on a Lenovo G500; my findings so far follow. I haven't tested 64-bit. To determine of your system is 32-bit or 64-bit, see: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-032028.htm
    Ethernet Controller
The driver at the touslesdrivers link for the G500 Network Controller (hard-wired ethernet) posted by damon007 worked on my machine (G500 purchased Dec 2013). Here's the link again for reference:

Device manager now lists the device as:

    Intel Centrino Wireless-N 135
The following Windows XP wi-fi driver worked for me:

  • Lenovo G500 Graphic card problem

    Hello
I have bought brand new Lenovo G500 (Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 2020M @ 2.40 GHz 2.40 AMD Radeon HD8570mGHz 8GB Ram) without system in it. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate here, and I cant install graphic card.
I downloaded AMD drivers and when I turn on my notebook again, in manager graphic card  is off, because of error 43.
Can I ask for fast reply ? I'm keep fighting with it 2 days in row.

Does the computer feel overly warm when the errors occur? If so the Video Card may be overheating, or have a hardware issue. If your notebook is under warranty - would suggest contacting Lenovo Support directly for service.

  • Lenovo g500 graphics card problem

    Hi,
    I have Lenovo G500 with I3-3110M and dedicated HD8750M.
The problem is that inside the game (lets say Skyrim) the HD8750M is working but somehow not well enough - low fps.
The problem is there since I reinstalled my notebook (from win8.1 to the same win8.1) and on older instalation everything worked just fine. When I install driver from amd.com, game starts, fps are great but the screen is flickering. With driver from lenovo.com fps are terrible.
I tried to reinstall both driver for both graphics and ran your video test which says everythig is ok.
    Thank you for your help.

  • Does Lenovo G500 have any wifi problems?

Hi guys, 8 days ago i bought an Lenovo G580, the laptop was great, fast and everthing but it had one problem as many of you know, the wifi connection.... So i returned it and got my money back. I've now found another Lenovo, and its an Lenovo G500. My question is do any of you guys know which wifi card it has?? And is it better or worse than G580?? The specs of this laptop is Intel Core i5-3230M (2,60 GHz)4 GB RAM (but im going to buy one extra 4GB ram) so = 8GB RAM1TB HDDIntel HD Graphics 4000

OK I hope this helps many here. Friday 18th 2013, daughters laptop crapped out, went to Fry's electronics ad purchase the Lenovo g500, brought the laptop back to her dorm and proceeded to connect to her ASU internet, all the signal bars showed a strong signal (BUT) said limited connection, and we called the tech suppport at ASU and they tried everything, no luck, we also called Lenovo and they couldn't get it going either (WOW) !!! Went I this forum and tried the suggsted changes, disable Mcafee, power battery, ETC. and spent all night Friday trying to get this laptop going and no luck. OK now it's Saturday and called the campuses I.T department, they said there is no reason why you can't connect, even as a guest you should have no problems. No luck so now I so frustrated since the school or Lenovo couldn't getting going so we took it back to exchange it Yesterday (Sunday) the 20th, and the same problem with the ew laptop, so my daughter and I took the laptop to the schools I.T deparment and they tried to get it going, these are I.T. guys, and they couldn't get it going either, they tried a few updates and still no luck. they did their CMD prompt magic and still no luck, showed limited connection, same stuff Lenovo suggested. Now my daughter is in tears now!. She's a bio medical engineering student and in her third year maintaining a  deans list quota isn't easy and every minute counts, and needs her laptop. Well we did another round of tech support with the school and Lenovo for hours and neither one could get it going (WOW,WOW) Now dad here is very disappointed, even though I realized it wasn't the schools fault, or the new laptops fault, but I had to come to the realization that Lenovo knows of this problem since there are many posts I found regarding this issue and no fix. Last effort I called Lenovo one more time and spent an hour with them and still no help (BUT) they told me to call this number (1-877-453-6686) and they could help us get the laptop running (LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL PERHAPS?) But the light went out quick!, they said if I call that number I would be charged for the tech support, I'm (LIVID) at this point! Two and a half days of heartache, so I made one last ditch effort before I took the laptop back in the morning for a refund so I installed the latest broadcom update and disabled Mcafee and restarted the computer and instantly my daughter's computer was connected to the internet.I know what your thinking , why didn't I.T, or Lenovo mention that particular update?, and I did have to use another computer to get the update and transfer it to  zip drive to install I hope this helps anyone in the future, man that was a brutal experience

    hi hakaa,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
If I'm not Mistaken you want to boot the system to your Installation Media, right?
First you can try the hitting F12 when you press the power to turn it ON.
If your Lucky the BIOS is already configured and hitting F12 should give you the Boot menu and will let you choose to boot from CD/DVD, HDD or USB.
If hitting F12 did not give you Boot Menu Option,
Turn the system ON and start hitting F2, Now This will Let you Boot into the BIOS and will give you option to change the Boot sequence,
    Hope this info helps,
Please let s know if you have further questions,
    Thanks,

  • Lenovo g500 windows 10 problem?

    >>> Moved to the proper forum

    Good day.
The G500 is not currently included in the system compatibility list: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht103535
You should keep an eye on that list as it is being updated fairly regularly.
If / when drivers become available, you should be able to find them in your system's support pages:
    http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g500-notebook
    Hope this helps a bit.

    hi kiranhaardy,
For units with switchable graphics (Intel + AMD), it's normal for dxdiag to show the Intel HD Graphics as it's the primary GPU that the system uses before it switches to the AMD Graphics.
The several errors that you saw on the Intel HD Graphics might explain the flickering issue that you have as this indicates video memory errors. I recommend that you report these findings by contacting lenovo as you may need to send the unit for service.

  • Lenovo G500 BIOS strange thing

    Hello!
I own lenovo g500 laptop and always when I go into BIOS setup I see very small variety of options... BUT there were a couple of times (actually 2 times) when I managed to get into ADVANCED BIOS settings. I don't know what and how I did it but I know 1 thing for sure, that it always happend when my windows (I use win 7 ultimate) had an update. I don't know if that matters but I am trying to figure out what happend and I haven't noticed anything else besides that. I also have a proof of this,I have a picture showing my dedicated video memory is 512mb on Intel HD Graphics. When I managed to get into advanced settings I changed it to 512mb instead of normal 64mb in order to get better gaming preformance.
SO my question is why can't I always acces this settings? It's very annoying ,I was searching the net and couldn't find anything about this.
SO anyways there is a picture

Even i have this same problem but i was never able to get to advanced options in bios
    plz help,anyone????????

I don't have a similar machine to look at so this is a bit of a guess:
Per page 30 or your user's guide http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_g400sg400stouchg500sg500stouchg405sg505s_ug_e...:
How can I start the BIOS setup utility?
To start the BIOS setup utility:
    1 Shut down the computer.
2 Press the Novo button and then select BIOS Setup
There should be a tab labelled something like "Configuration" and on that page something like "SATA controller mode".  Select "compatible" and save and exit.
I'm not certain this will fix your problem, but it's worth a try.
