Lenovo g510 amd driver problem

my new lenovo g510 reads the amd vga as r5 m230 instead of 8570 altthough i installed the driver from the official cd ?? is that a problem or okay ?

Hi Zoomin,
Welcome to Lenovo Community!
I’m glad to inform you that as the driver is installed and working as expected this confirms that driver is for the exact mentioned AMD Hardware and there is no need to worry.
Do post us back for further queries.

  • Lenovo g510 AMD drivers BLUE SCREEN

    Hi there,
I recently bought a Lenovo g510 with AMD Radeon graphics card. When I try to install the driver for the graphics card, i got a blue screen. I then cannot even enter Windows in safe mode. Only thing I can do is startup repair which takes forever. Before trying to install the driver, I cannot see the AMD graphics card under the display adaptors in device manager. I run Windows 7 64 bit.
    Please help.
    Panos.

    Hi,
After a lot of tries I have tried Windows 8.1. This time when I install the drivers the graphics card is shown in device manager but I cannot open Catalyst manager. I got the message:
"catalyst control center cannot be started there are currently no settings that can be configured"
    This is what I tried:
1.Downloaded the drivers from lenovo website for chipset, Intel HD graphics and AMD graphics
2.Swhitched off the internet so that Windows doesnt download drivers for the Intel HD graphics
    3.Uninstalled Intel and AMD drivers
    4. Installed the Intel driver
    5. Installed the AMD driver
This doesnt seem to work. Some time after I install the AMD driver, the screen goes black and even if I restart the PC. Only thing I can do is to open in safe mode and uninstall the AMD drivers. I dont know if it does matter but I havent activated the Windows yet (I dont want to by them unless I know that my laptop is fully functional).
This is what I get in hardware ids in device manager for the video controller.

  • Lenovo G510 i7 heating problems

Hi, I bought a Lenovo G510 two weeks ago and two day ago I noticed a sudden temperature rising under my palm while using the qwert keyboard with my left hand. Under my left arm is the ram which gets hot imedialty after starting the Lenovo. I checked it with Speedfan and its says right after booting the ram is 45C. While the ram is getting warmer even during idle modus my hdd is also getting hotter.
Is this normal for the Lenovo g510 or is defect?
    I bought this one : http://www.amazon.de/Lenovo-Notebook-4700MQ-5400RPM-schwarz/dp/B00FQLVHK0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=140...

    Hi Lenovoboi,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
I’m sorry to hear that your G510 Laptop temperature is automatically increasing. I would suggest you to check using the Laptop on a Flat Surface to make good air ventilation and 45c is a normal temperature and no need to worry also check if there are any Dust/Foreign particles stuck in the air vents. Please let me know the findings.
    Hope to hear back soon

  • Hp 4730s amd driver problem

    Hy,
    I have a HP ProBook 4730s.
    I use Win 7 Home Premium x64.
I try to install the amd driver, but I can use only Intel Family video card.
How can I install amd driver? (delete the intel, or something else?)
Which AMD driver is good for my laptop?
    Thanks for the answers!
    Best Regards,
    Miklós

    Hi:
What is the full model number of your g7?  What operating system?
If it has the radeon 7670M, you only install the AMD driver, which installs the drivers for both the Intel and AMD GPU's..
Never install the standalone Intel graphics driver.
Uninstall all graphics drivers you installed, reboot,  and then install the AMD graphics driver only and reboot.

  • Lenovo G510 AMD R7 M265 Problem

Hello Lenovo Community i have a problem with my video card when i minimize some games this message appears and the game's screen becomes white how to fix this

    hi tsonayoshi,
Just to verify, are you encountering this on all the games that you play or even on web browser games?
    Things that you can try:
    1. Run Windows Updates to get the latest patch and bug fixes for the OS.
    2. Ensure the AC charger is plugged-in and the power settings set to High Performance while gaming.
    3. If you're running WIn7, apply this display driver not responding fix.
Let me know how it goes.

  • Win7 Lenovo G570 - May29,13 AMD driver problem

Trying to install the late May 29, 13 drivers on my lenovo g570 laptop. Win7-64 bit AMD HD6370M
Removed all trails and scents of my earlier drivers prior to intalling
    Problems:
     - the install goes through suspiciously fast and does not actually install ANYthing. After rebooting, the display drivers are still shown as vga.dll etc not atioxxx-something. dll
Have tried re-downloading should it have been a corrupt download, followed through the same procedure - nothing changes.
The problems occur with this particular package, earlier installs work fine, BUT...I wouldn't be asking about it if I didn't want to install the new ones, would I?
    What to do?
    Thanks

    Hi
Iv'e not seen this happening in the Y560 which also runs an AMD . If you dont have a particular reason of installing only 11.10 I would suggest you could try the older versions especially the LTS ones.. The Unity interface sucks IMO
    Cheers and regards,

  • Lenovo G510 video card problem

Hi there! Since a while I'm having some problems with my laptop's Video card. When I try to launch a game using the AMD Graphic card by going to 'Switchable Graphics', the game is not working, I mena I can hear the background sound of the game but the screen is black. When I switch to Intel Graphic Card the game is working perfectly.
When I go to Device Manager, I can see both Intel and AMD graphic card. But When I use FurMark I can only see the Intel Graphic Card which is the only one which works.
When I launch TechPowerUp GPU-Z I get an error which tells me to update my OPENCL and my video card driver.
    Any ideas, please?
    Thank you!
    Solved!

    Hi,
Just delete both Intel and AMD graphics drivers in Device Manager and make sure to delete softwares of the respective graphics too (can be done in Programs and Features, found in control panel)
Then first install Intel Graphics driver and then install AMD graphics driver from support site respective of your OS.
And do not update your Intel drivers from Windows Update and neither directly from AMD website.
It is prefered to install manufacturer drivers as they may be customised according to our machines.
Im using G510 on Windows 8.1 Pro x64
AMD Radeon HD 8570M, Intel HD 4600

For example if i want to play a game and want to plugg it in so that it wont use the battery my performance is affected. I do not have eny power manager drivers instaled except the usual Windows power manager. I had one instaled but was pretty much useless and i've deleted it. Please help, i dont know what to do and its very anoying.

    Hi Albulescu,
As you have performed the exact steps with the Power Plan for Maximized performance of the computer with or without AC Adapter connected, the only available option is to re-install the Intel Chipset driver for the computer and if the issue persists. I would strongly suggest you to contact our Technical Support for further Assistance also to get the details of the nearest Authorized Service Center to get the issue analyzed.

  • HP Envy 14 1190ea AMD Driver Problem

    Hello.
I've been searching for a while now to update the drivers for the graphics card processor. But I didn't find a solution. So , after running Windows Update two days ago , I discovered that the switchable graphics are not working anymore and whenever I try the AMD Catalyst Control Center it says to me that there are no configurable devices available on the laptop so it just shuts down.I've already tried a system recovery point , but the problem persists. What do I have to do in order to obtain the much needed drivers? Is there anyway you could provide with a solution or a link to a solution?
Thanks in advance for the support.
    EDIT
I'm gonna try to uninstall the drivers from the Device Manager and reinstall them to see if this is the right solution.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi:
The problem is that you cannot update the graphics drivers for your model.
The only driver you can use is this one.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-101852-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
What happened was that Windows Update found an updated driver for the Intel portion of the switchable graphics but now that driver has caused the amd radeon gpu to quit working.
    So, you are correct.
You need to go to the device manager, uninstall the Intel graphics driver windows update installed, reboot and reinstall the amd graphics driver above.
Then ignore or hide any updates you get for the Intel gpu.

  • Please help. Lenovo Software or driver problem

I am having a problem with my Haswell Levono Ideapad Yoga 11S.  Anytime the computer "updates" in any way, my SDCard slot, Both USB ports and the Touchscreen stop working. I originally thought it was a windows update issue causing it, but its not. I disabled all windows updates and it has not done one. I thought that fixed the issue, but then I uninstalled a software that required a reboot, and the issue started again. Each time this happens I have to do a restore point back to a restore point I made on 5/22/2015 in order to get it working, so I know its a software or driver issue. Pretty sure its some of this Lenovo software cauding the issue, or a Lenovo driver. I get two messages that pop-up in lenovo style pop -ups. #10engineinitializationfailed and also #10Motioncontrolerror or something when this happens. Also something pops up in my Device Manager as "unknown" but there is no way to tell what it is. Can someone please help me? My last post on here died without any comments at all. It seems like Lenovo just will not help me with their product they sold me. Am I just out of luck? Do I need to stop buying Lenovo products? I dont know...   It seems so. Lenovo, answer me.

It looks like Windows Update tries to update a wrong driver and fails ? The update is probably an optional one, because most of the drivers updates are.You know you don't have to accept all the optional updates. You can even tell Windows not to show them anymore: right-click on the update, and choose not to show it anymore.

  • [Athlon64] Cool n Quiet and AMD driver problem...

I hate to be the one to start another cool and quiet thread, but this is a problem I can't figure out. I have been running cool and quiet on my NEO Athlon 64 motherboard for over a year now, and it has worked perfectly, until today. I re-installed windows, because it was giving me problems, thanks to one too many virus and spyware attacks over the past year. Anyway, I installed windows, installed service pack 1, and all the assorted drivers for my hardware. I downloaded the latest AMD cpu driver and installed it. I have my power option set to minimal. I have everything just as it was, but the cool and quiet never kicks in. I am monitoring it with the Cool and Quiet panel, and it just sets at 2000 mhz. Cool and Quiet is turned on in the bios, and so is acpi. Windows xp reports having ACPI installed. I'm stumped. Is the fact I am using SP1 and have not upgraded to SP2 have anything to do with this? I notice the latest AMD cpu driver mentions it is for winxp SP2. I am avoiding SP2 because it has an issue with software that I use on my network. If it's because of SP2, is there a site I could download the older AMD cpu drivers from, to get this thing working? Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hello dude!
Well I remember to be in the same case, but when I reinstalled the WinXP, it comes with the SP2 integrated and I just active the Cool n Quiet installing the AMD Power Monitor lasted version and set se PM to Minimal, and it works perfectly, And about your problem with the WinXPSP2 Firewall you just have to unmark the LAN protection from the Firewall settings and thats all...
    Enjoy the Life, Enjoy AMD...

  • ATI/AMD driver problem, HD6470M & HD6520G

Hi everyone, I've just installed Arch on my laptop which is lenove Z475 with AMD Radeon HD 6470M & HD 6520G, and it seems I've met several problem with the driver.
First, I've tried the catalyst, using "catalyst-generator 11.8-1", adding "radeon.modeset=0", but the topbar of Gnome3 just disappear and it crashed a few times.
So I decided to use "xf86-video-ati", but if I don't add "radeon.modeset=0", the screen goes black.
If I add "radeon.modeset=0", then I only got a "fallback" mode.
I've read wiki but still didn't how to solve it and I've tried to search but English is not my mother tongue, and I don't really know what "key word" would work better...
So... how to make the xf86-video-ati driver work normally?
    Anybody can help?

ATI drivers from what I know still have major issues with Gnome3 - I am not sure if there is a solution. Check the AUR comments on catalyst package. I don't personally use Gnome so I'm not 100% sure.
