LENOVO G530 - added programs ?

in MPLS folder there are 4 apps as in the photo

1-can i delete all the folder content safely?
i do not use norton/adobe/cd creator.
2-in the csbed folder (i think it's creator burning app) is written in readme.txt:
README FOR LENOVO EASY MEDIA CREATOR
Easy Media Creator form Lenovo has two parts:Easy Media Creator
Drag2Disc
In a preloaded state, both are installed using
silentsetup.cmd. This file can be used to silently
re-install both or one of the applications.
To capture the applications for use infividually in

LEMC10 - Easy Media Creator

silent installation of eash can be done using
standard installshield parameters.

*what does it mean?
**i can easily burn cd's using Vista burner -i checked it & it woks fine -isn't it the default vista burner app. ?
3-what is the 4th folder MUIIinsaller? is it a general or external windows installer for Languages in vista, or only installer for the above app's?

1-none of the above programs installed in my pc, and none of them appear to be in control panel.
2-are you sure that norton security and creator burning media are free?????
May be they are active for some time and then you'll be asked for payment?
what about my 3rd question concerning the MUIInstaller ?

Lenovo G530 - problem with certain keys on keyboard

hi everyone.
I have a Lenovo G530 and I am having an odd problem with the keyboard. If i press the spacebar when I type anything, i get the system date and time. If I press the H button, I get a hn and i get nh when I press the N key. Also get gb when I press G and bg when I press B. The rest of the keys are fine. Any ideas what could help???
I has this problem about a month ago and I remember reading somewhere on the net that if I press Alt-Crt-Del and some other key, it shoudl work... and it must have cause the problem stopped. But now it's back and I can't find that combination again.
I have Windows Vista installed.

I doubt it's a hardware problem at all. I believe it's a "fun" program running on your machine that does this. Someone put it there for you.
A sure way to make sure what it is....... connect a USB keyboard to your laptop. If that USB keyboard is doing the same thing then it's software related, if not, then it's hardware related.
If it is infact a funware there or a virus you'd have to go to a malware forum and ask around. If it turns out to be malware try Spybot Search & Destroy.

Need an answer Lenovo G530 laptop.. The support line doesnt work in my country..

Hi, first i live In Israel and i've called the main support line and they told me they dont deal with my laptop and directed me to the ones who do > their phone is offline all day (when they should be *working* between 9 am to 5 pm). I've called them before a few years ago and they gave me much help. Hopefully some one in charge can give me a working phone number for support.
I have a lenovo g530 laptop, its overall nice and i got it as a gift few years ago. Its been bugging me for a long time tho.
My questions that i've been thinking of for years:
-I've downloaded the BIOS drivers from the driver page and after installing them on all: windows xp, windows vista, windows 7 they caused a BSOD (blue screen of death) and i had to re-format my computer and re-install windows. So my question how exactly can i install the BIOS without crashing my system? My Bios have been at 1.0 for a long time..
Second, you might just say 'no' you cant right away but...
-This laptop runs on an imbeded 'chip' thats supposed to function as an internal video card, i've noticed some G530 laptops have Nvidia geforce 9300m on their Laptop, is it possible to install it on mine? (buying the video card and adding it in?), if not.. Is there a video card on this planet i can install on my laptop?... Am sure people ask this all the time because Mobile intel 4 express chipset is absoloute garbage and if i knew i was getting this laptop i would of never allowed my parents to purchese it.

How do you install bios without getting bsod and having to re-format.
is there a video card i can add instead of this imbeded piece of crap i got (any video card.. Am sure something must fit the motherboard.. And i know the imbeded once works with the Cpu and its internanly connected.. Cmon man.. i dont wanna throw away this laptop and buy a new pc).

if you called them today, due to it's sunday, it's normal that they don't answer.
about upgrade, if you have the mxm solution, it could be possible.
about bios, you should've reseted the bios after flashing. it also could be compatible issuee, i'm not sure
( you may need to upgrade drivers, too )

Lenovo G530 laptop screen flicker

I have a Lenovo G530 laptop that has an issue with screen flicker that is getting worse. The computer screen will start going thru a crazy screen flicker then will stop and start again. I have already checked cable connection to lcd on motherboard and reseated connection of lcd to motherboard located under the keyboard as someone suggested in another posting I found online that resolved issue for them. I am starting to think it might be a bad inverter or screen because I have hooked up laptop to external monitor and it is running fine with no flickering happening when the flickering is occurring on laptop.
I am attaching a link to a small video I shot of the issue as it is occurring on laptop screen.
Does anyone have any further suggestions?

"Universal Laptop DC car charger power adapter" for Lenovo g530

Hey there, I'm a complete tech numskull, so pardon me if this is incredibly naive. I recently made an impulse buy of an off-brand "Universal Laptop DC car charger power adapter" with the hopes of using it in a car with my Lenovo G530. I haven't gotten it yet but after purchasing it, I noticed the power adapter that came with my Lenovo is "AC." Is it possible to us the DC adapter with my laptop, where my cord says "AC"? I obviously don't want to fry my laptop and was wondering what I should look out for. The adapter was pretty cheap, which is another red flag but it also means I won't be out much if I made a mistake in buying it (ebay purchase).

Help Plz i've blank LCD in Lenovo G530
the unit is working and the power & wireless indicators is on but the LCD is blank
i've allready unpluged the battery and powered the unit with the charger only and plug the battery again but still have the same problem.
so plz advice what to do ?????

Try to plug in external monitor and look if anything shows. Then try to check monitor configuration. Maybe it is switched off...

(SOLVED) Display brightness disappeared from Power Options in Vista, Lenovo G530

Hello board,
My system Lenovo G530 product ID 444638U
I used to be able to adjust display brightness in Vista from Control Panel > Power Options. I could set how bright when on battery and how bright when on AC. Also, it used to be that when I unplugged power cable it would automatically adjust my brightness according to those settings. Now, nothing happens when I unplug power cable, not even a beep.
Possible problem is as follows, but let's keep an open mind to other things as well. I spilled beer on keyboard recently. ONLY on keyboard I am sure. I replaced keyboard with something that fits but something that isn't made for my laptop, has different arrangement of Fn+ keys. Basically ever since the beer accident and ever since I replaced keyboard I had this brightness issue.
Please help me solve this.

I solved this problem..
Solution is to upgrade the BIOS to latest version. I am not sure actually whether latest BIOS had the needed fix or not, or it was just the process of updating the BIOS that solved this issue. But no doubt, after flashing the BIOS, display brightness function reappeared!

If you have the InsydeH2O "BIOS" the option doesn't appears. At least, I saw in mine and it doesn't.

Enabling the webcam in lenovo g530

hi - i've downloaded and installed all the xp drivers for the lenovo g530 and they're all working and recognised by xp in the device manager. i was particularly pleased to see that finally i had got the correct drivers for the webcam and it's registered in the device manager under the imaging devices section, but it still does not come on. i've tried the esc-fn, but that does absolutely nothing. i've been working on this bloody machine for 3 complete days now and am ready to take it back and demand something else. please could someone guide me on this as it's driving me nuts.

un-install the camera drivers, restart your computer and install it again.
by the way, make sure the function keys are working.

Adding programs to front row

Hi all, sorry if this isn't the right place for this question, but I was wondering if there was any way of adding programs to front row? What I really want to do is open the dashboard from my remote control so I can check for emails and the weather from the comfort of my bed!!!

I suspect Sijmons meant to refer you to the Keyspan RF Remote For Front Row.
According to this tip on Mac OS X Hints, one can assign AppleScripts to the programmable buttons on the Keyspan RF Remote for Front Row.
This Mac OS X Hints tip has a simple AppleScript for invoking Dashboard, as well as some interesting variants.

T440s doesn't have Lenovo Energy Management program?

How come my T440s doesn't have the Lenovo Energy Manager program? I remember my other Ideapads had it. ThinkPads don't come with that program preinstalled? I wanted to do a battery gauge reset/recalibration.

I’m sorry to inform you that Energy Management program is designed for Ideapads and ThinkPads are supported with a set of applications called Lenovo Think Vantage Toolbox.
Think Vantage is a software library designed for Lenovo ThinkPad computers. It is intended to maximize the business user's experience through the use of easy-to-access utilities that take advantage of the ThinkPad's hardware features.
To perform a battery gauge reset, you can use Power manager.
Refer this knowledgebase created by Cleo_lenovo to understand how to perform a battery gauge reset.

Disabling laptop mouse on Lenovo G530 / XPpro, SP3

Lenovo G530 with XP pro and SP3
This shouldn't be as hard as I'm making it. I always use a USB wireless mouse but the laptop touchpad (Synaptics) is always getting bumped or dragged on while I'm typing - sending me places I don't want to be.
There has got to be an easy way to disable this thing. I've tried mouse settings from Control Panel, Device Manager properties, MouseKeys, uninstalling the drivers and software (they just re-install on restart).
OK, I've done things the hard way as usual; can someone please tell me the

Lenovo G530 There Has Been A Signature Failure

Hi all. I have a Lenovo G530. I followed the manual on how to do an original system restore through BIOS. Now I keep getting 'There Has Been A Signature Failure'. I've read online about the partitions, but i don't know how to access them to get me to the next step.
Any help is appreciated.

Lenovo G530 bios update now blue screen!!!

Ok i have a lenovo G530 with service code 4446-23u. I downgraded to windows XP and it was running fine. I was on lenovo.com and saw that there were newer bios then what i was using(i think i had 1.06, and there is now 1.09 ) so i decided to flash my bios to get them up to date. It flashed fine and asked me to reboot so i said Ok and now everytime i try to start the computer it goes through the bios screen onto the windows XP boot screen then flashes the "Blue Screen" and reboots. It won't start in safe mode or any mode. I put in my XP disk to reinstall XP and i get it to boot from cd and it loads for a while then goes to the "blue screen". Anyone know what is causing this? or how to fix it? I am completely fine with going back to the old bios but don't know how to do that or if its possible.

Got it figured out. I had to change the Sata in the bios back to ide.
