Lenovo G530 bios update now blue screen!!!

Ok i have a lenovo G530 with service code 4446-23u. I downgraded to windows XP and it was running fine. I was on lenovo.com and saw that there were newer bios then what i was using(i think i had 1.06, and there is now 1.09 ) so i decided to flash my bios to get them up to date. It flashed fine and asked me to reboot so i said Ok and now everytime i try to start the computer it goes through the bios screen onto the windows XP boot screen then flashes the "Blue Screen" and reboots. It won't start in safe mode or any mode. I put in my XP disk to reinstall XP and i get it to boot from cd and it loads for a while then goes to the "blue screen". Anyone know what is causing this? or how to fix it? I am completely fine with going back to the old bios but don't know how to do that or if its possible.
these are the bios i used:

  • BIOS Update causes Blue Screen of Death - PLEASE HELP

    PLEASE HELP!!
After recently reformatting a Lenovo 3000 N200 (XP SP3), I downloaded the Lenovo Care (or whatever it's called), which downloaded a whole lot of updates, drivers....
The last thing that was downloaded was a BIOS Update. Before flashing and reprogramming the BIOS, the program created a backup of the old BIOS.
Since the BIOS Update, I can no longer turn on the laptop without the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). When I try to turn it on, it shows the Lenovo startup screen, then goes to the "previous attempt was interrupted" menu (the menu where you can choose 'Safe Mode'...), and no matter which option I choose, it starts to show the XP startup screen (with the progress bar), for 1/2 a second, then displays the BSOD for 1/2 a second (too fast too even read what it says or even get the error code).
What can I do to remedy the situation? Can I somehow access the backup of the old BIOS to restore it? Or is there something else I can do?
BTW, When I click F1 on the Lenovo startup screen (to get into the BIOS settings) it shows the BIOS version to be "68ET35WW (V3.03) - which is apparently the latest version for that laptop

If you have restored the device as new and tested it without using your backup and it is still malfunctioning, then you need to make an appointment with the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service provider, depending on your location, and have the hardware checked.

  • Satellite L840 - BIOS update and blue screen

    Hello,
    I recently bought a Toshiba L840-04E (PSK8LA- O4E007) and installed Windows 7 64bit.
    Issue: BlueScreen
Question: I assume this is the dreaded "blue screen of death" and I need to do something to prevent servious problems in the future (I've used the laptop lightly for a couple of days with no issues).
How do I analyze the dump information to find out what caused the blue screen?
Or is it best to go back to the last restore point before the blue screen event? A restore point was made before I updated the BIOS from v 1.80 to 6.20. Also, Toshiba shows that there is a new BIOS 6.30 version.
Before the blue screen event I had changed the setting for the on/off button to "shut down" and made a few minor other changes to settings and then just before the blue screen error I plugged in a Seagate External Hard Drive.
Are there any suggestions about what steps I should take?
    Thanks so much.
    April

    Hi
Generally the BSOD appears due to serious software problem or hardware problem.
You said you connected an external USB HDD to the notebook right before the BSOD appeared so probably the BSOD was caused by the attached HDD who knows
If this happened for the first time, dont be afraid it could be just a temporal problem
But if it would appear often, you should investigate a little bit and should try to replicate the issue and the reason for that

I updated to ios 5.1, after updating, now my screen is stuck with the apple logo and status bar and isn't doing anything....HELP

The typical fix if the progress bar totally freezes - meaning no movement at all for more than 20 minutes - and iTunes will no recognize the device - is to try to put the iPad into recovery mode. That is explained here.
iPad: Unable to update or restore
However, don't jump the gun. Keep an eye on the progress bar and if it is moving at all - even very slowly - let it go for a while. I'm updating my iPod touch first and the progress bar is moving but very slowly.

I have a HP TX2Z-1000. The HP assistant prompted for a BIOS updated & now I'm unable to boot. I let it go through it's process it shut down and now I'm getting post code indicating a CPU failure? Can a bios update fry the CPU?
I've removed the batteries, 30 minutes later I attached the power cord and tried to boot with the same result. Can you shed some light on what maybe going on and how to fix it?
    Thank you!

Can you get the exact error code?

  • Lost sound devices now blue screen of death when updating creative drivers.

I have an XPS with windows 7, dont k now what the sound card is, I have factory installed software for Creative X something extreme, and Realtex.
Now I had been trying to get sound via an optical cable to an AV amp with no success. I had tried disabling and re enabling sound devices, then I tried updating the drivers, realtex was ok but the Creative drivers caused the blue screen of death with the message IRQL Not less or equal"
I tried all options in device manager including rollback, every time I try anything I get that blue screen of death, whats more, in "Sounds" in the control panel, I have lost two of my sound device options that do not appear even with "show hidden devices" so I now have no sound.

    Hi Nambo,
Device manager should list the exact hardware in your desktop. But normally, integrated audio jacks will appear on the same backplane as other motherboard components, while an add-on card will have its jacks in an expansion slot. So you should know whether you have integrated or add-on.

  • Msi 970a-g46 - BIOS update got interrupted, screen is now perma black

So recently my computer has started having issues where it will just freeze out of nowhere leaving me only with sound, no mouse, no keyboard, i believe a still image on the screen (cant tell due to the mouse/keyboard).
Either way, so i figured i would go about and update all of my drivers, while updating my BIOS drivers, my computer had one of these freezes and i was careless enough to hit the restart button...
So now whenever i try and boot my computer, i am left with a pure black screen, and nothing else...
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Piers.

    Try a battery removed CMOS clear and reset. The freeze may have been RAM, PSU, VGA related. A BIOS update is firmware, etc., no drivers involved. A list of system components may be of help in the troubleshooting process;

So after doing that, i plugged it back in, and got a long squealing beep tone so i immediately unplugged it... im also a huge retard, and powered it on while i had the jumpers on clear data... i feel retarded and i hope i didn't just break my motherboard even more... D':

Pls note that bios v2 can be updated only if you using Windows 8. Otherway update will fail, and your mobo is "bricked"

  • Successful BIOS update now only black screens

Hi! I am currently using a MSI K9A2 CF-F V2 and I wanted to update the bios in order to take advantage of an AM3 CPU socket. I found what I believe to be the correct BIOS from the MSI driver search (7388 version 1.D) since I have Vista 64-bit and was unable to use the Live Update. I completed the USB Flash update recommended here and successfully flashed my bios. I reset CMOS and booted up fine. I ran the MSIHQ Tool and it showed the correct version. About 20 minutes later my computer is now black screened permanently and the monitor is staying in power saving mode. I hear no beeps upon power up, however all of the motherboard lights and fans work. If I unplug the monitor it is responsive to the disconnect. I've swapped video cards and ram just in case. Any advice? Thank you so much for any help!

I put in one stick of 2 gig Kingston DDR2 800 ram into the primary slot and same issue. I triple checked all PSU connections, and disconnected all extra connections however again all fans and motherboard lights are showing power.

  • Pavilion g6t wont boot after bios update now just black screen please help!

I downloaded an update for the bios for my pavilion g6t-1d00 laptop running windows 7 64 bit. It started acting kind of funny but I didnt think anything of it til I tried to boot it up the next day and all I got was a black screen and a orange led light on the f12 button for the internet and the caps lock button after blinking afew times started the dredded two times every couple of seconds. I tried the windows key+B key power key, no luck. I cant access anything because I have no monitor and I'm at my wits end. I refuse to wipe my hard drive and start over even if I could! I cant access hp tools or manager or anything, please someone has to have a solution!

    @Fuschia4me,
    1.       You will have to use another computer
    2.       Access the HP.com site with the BIOS updates available here is the link
    3.       You want to select the F.36 BIOS version
    4.       When you click on the update then click download and it will ask you to save or run, you want to save to a flash drive
    5.        Once done insert the flash drive into your laptop
    6.       Turn the computer on and press the windows and B key like before
If the process doesn’t work the first time I would try at least 2 more times.
Please respond back at your earliest convenience.

  • MSI P4MAM-L CPU change now blue screen (Win 2k)

    I have a MSI P4MAM-L VIA chipset board with a P4 2.26 (512/533) processor.
    I need the 2.26 chip for something else, so I swapped it for a P4 1.7 (256/400).
Now I get a blue screen just before the Win 2k logon screen but it reboots immediately before I can read the error.
Does this mean I need to reformat for it to support the old chip or is it likely that some hardware is damaged?
When I removed the heat sink / fan assembly, the CPU was stuck to it and came up with it despite trying to ease it up gently. Could this be the source of the problem and the socket is damaged?
    Thanks.

OK, here is what I've tried:
    Cleared ESCD (worth a try)
    Updating BIOS (1.1 ->> 1.2)
    Reseating CPU / Memory
Changing back to 2.26 chip (works fine)
I've put the P4 1.7 in a Dell I have and I get a blue screen on that too. However this one doesn't reboot immediately and I can read the error.
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, although it doesn't say what caused it. It gives a bunch of memory addresses which I can post, but suspect they will not help in troubleshooting.
From what i've read, I understand that this is usually causes by a software problem.
It's seeming more and more likely that it is the processor that is faulty. Dammit.

  • HT201269 ios7 update to blue screen

I had a popup asking to update to ios7.02 last night, I hit the details button and now my phone will not turn back on.  I do get the moving circle  in the middle, but more importantly I get the blue screen of death!

    Not uncommon problem. Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Lenovo G570 Bios Update

Hi everyone Does the new bios update will be released ? Thank you.

    Hello yigit,
I'll contact to Lenovo technical service for this issue. But before contacting i would like to let you know that I found official 40CN22WW(1.09) bios for G470/G570 from China support page and i flashed bios with that version. It flashed the BIOS but same problem happened when it comes to EC. When i clicked on OK for flashing EC it freezed and nothing move so around 10 mins later i had to reset laptop by unplugging the battery. But when i enter the setup i saw that all INVALID gone and the correct values are there. So i can see model, uid and serial number in BIOS now. But the EC is same old one which i typed in 1st post.
    When i saw this i wanted to flash BIOS with official 2.09 version. It flashed the BIOS and came to EC flashing. This time it become different. After flashing BIOS it asked me to flash EC, and i clicked on OK, after clicking OK around 6-7 seconds later this appeared;
    IHIS:EC write error in SMI!
and after this one it reset the laptop by itself, i checked in the BIOS and the serial, model changed to INVALID again but BIOS version is 2.09 and EC is 2.04. So I reflashed the BIOS with 1.09 and now in BIOS no more INVALID but EC is still 2.04. I don't know maybe this version has an EC protection or something like that. Or maybe my laptop BIOS or EC is corrupted. I wanted to flash my BIOS at 1st just because of those fan noise with almost 100% speed. Even the temperature is 45 the fan runs like F1 race car I'll take this with this BIOS now and when i go to Adana where I bought this laptop I'll ask for technical help there. Beside all those except FAN runs too fast, there is no problem on laptop everything works fine. But i noticed that boot time is faster with this 1.09 bios, i don't know maybe this is a coincidence.
Thank you for your interest and replies.
