Hi, I just wanna tell you the problem with my my battery, while I was watching movie on my laptop, suddenly it shut down itself and I don't understand the reason firstly but then I saw the AC power did not plug so I realised that my battery did not worked anymore. I took out it, clean it if it got too much dust or something then insert it again but without AC power my laptop does not start When I turn on the Laptop with AC power I can see that the Battery is recognized by system but it shows %100 Full rate of charghe. It really makes me nervous, this was happened suddenly and there is no obvious reason. It shut downs itself when I take out the AC power.
What's the problem ? Please help me.

Hello mate,
The first time it switched off, did you let the battery discharge completely?

  • Lenovo g550 VERY Strange Keyboard Problem

    Hello  All,
Sometimes, whenever I type on my Lenovo g550 laptop, the letters will sometimes stop working. For example, if I press and  normal letter key such as "k" it will come out 0 and if I keep pressing the key it will type 01234567890 and keep repeating that. It's not just with certain keys though. It's ALL the keys. If I type the sentence "the dog jumped" it will come out as "012 345 678901". Please help, I'm pretty sure my laptop is still under warranty so I need help ASAP.

  • Lenovo G550 20023 Wi-Fi problem

    Hi all,
I have some annoying Wi-Fi problems with my G550 model 20023 (not like anything i have read before on forum). My notebook can't "see" at all my TP-Link TL-WR340G wireless router while other desktops/notebooks/smartphones can. Problem occured first time few months ago. That time I was thininking that some malicous software may be cousing trouble and after detailed search found nothing I reinstaled Windows 7 64bit build 76000. This time, the history repeats ( BTW, I can't remember how trouble stared for the first time). Now notebook couldn't find wirelees adapter after restart made by instaling Adobe update (later on, i uninstald all of Adobe software with CCleaner, but it didnt help). In first,  after few shutdown's (not restrats!) and again power on, G550 would recognize its wirelees adapter, but now its dead. Now, I can use only wired network, but thats not I bought notebook :/
I'we tried all i could think of (or read on Lenovo Support & Download :
    1. Instaled new driver for wireless adapter (from Lenovo Site)
    2. Checked if its turned of via hardware button, Fn+F5 or battery menagment
    3. I noticed that in Computer -> Menage -> Device Menager -> ... exists unknown device in Network Adapters menu but i coudnt do anything so computer recognize it.
Pls, save me of reinstaling the system AGAIN AND JUST WAITING DISASTER TO HAPPENS AGAIN!!! ((

exists unknown device in Network Adapters menu   This suggests your network adapter card (NAC) is partly recognized by Windows.  NACs do go bad, and sometimes their connections get loose inside the machine.   I don't have access to how your G550 is put together, but many similar laptops have their WiFi NACs plugged into a tiny PCI connector on the motherboard.   This is often very easy to access without completely disassembling the laptop.   If the suggestion of using a Live CD to see if the NAC is usable doesn't work, I suggest finding where the NAC is plugged in, pulling it out & then reinserting it.   This tends to cure problems due to the NAC loosening in its socket.
If that doesn't work, the quickest solution is to buy a cheap WiFi NAC which connects to your computer by a USB port.   This is less work & expense than replacing the original WiFi NAC.

  • Lenovo G550 does not charge battery!!!! please help!!!!! :c

So i havent used my Lenovo for about a year and a half because i had lost the originial charger. ive recently bought a new cheap charger from amazon and thought it was the charger that was the problem when i looked it up online and found out it may be a bug from Windows 7. Now, this charger does turn on my laptop, but it does not charge it. It simply says "plugged in, not charging" and when i was reading an article on how to fix this , i was trying for hours to uninstall a program under device management called Microsoft ACPI- Compliant Conntrol Method Battery, because it was said that uninstalling this would help the system charge again. but after countless hours, i found that the program reinstalls itself and i am left with a laptop that just wont charge. my laptop says 0% (plugged in, not charging) and i really need this to work for the upcoming school year. i dont know what else to do! whenever i disconnect the wire the system completely shuts down and if i dont fix this problem ill just have to get rid of my Lenovo G550, which i absolutely LOVE! please, anyone help me! do i need to install a new version of windows? do i need to uninstall something? or is my laptop absolutely done for?
    please, please, please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    hi Chernandez51,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
From your observation, it seems like the battery was fully discharged after not being for a long time (batteries degrade overtime due to age, heat, and usage).
What you can try is to charge the battery for an hour or two while the computer is off then observe the status light indicators.

If the battery still doesn't take a charge then the battery might have gone faulty and needs a replacement.
For best compatibility, I recommend you use a Lenovo approved AC adapter and charger. You can buy one from the lenovo spare parts website (www.lenovospareparts.com) or you can buy online (eg. Amazon, Ebay, etc.) but ensure that there's a Lenovo FRU part number on the item..

  • Lenovo G550 one key recovery and wi-fi problem

    Hello all,
I have recently upgraded Vista to Win 7 on my G550 and I have a problem with the wlan connection. I get connected, but there's no internet access, only "limited connectivity". The driver's installed correctly, I've checked each and every setting and cannot find the source of this problem.
My OneKeyRecovery is not working anymore, I looked at the drivers site and saw there is no Recovery driver for Win 7. How can this be?
Anyone care to help me, please?

Could be a problem with the Lenovo ReadyConn-software, as described here:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-3000-and-Value-line/Lenovo-G550-Wi-fi-Problems/m-p/153935;jsessio...
Not sure if it applies to w7, but it could be worth a try...

have you tried to install drivers on safe mode or manually?
after you locate the .inf file for the driver that you want to install, manually install the new driver. to do this, follow these steps:
    - click start, right-click computer, and then click properties.in the tasks pane, click device manager.
    - if you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click continue.
    - in device manager, locate the device for which you want to install the driver.
note to display hidden devices, click show hidden devices on the view menu.
    - right-click the device, and then click update driver software.
    - click browse my computer for driver software, click let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, and then click have disk.
    - in the install from disk dialog box, click browse, locate an .inf file for the device driver that you want to install, and then click open.
    - follow the steps in the update driver software devicename dialog box to update the driver

I would suggest a Battery gauge reset, but im not 100% sure if it will work out, though you can try a gauge reset, considering the age of the machine I would also suggest a battery replacement

  • Ubuntu 9.10 and Lenovo G550 problem

    Hello,
I have one Lenovo G550 recently purchased. I've tried to install Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10, but both OS wouldn't boot. I'm not sure where the problem lies, as I'm Linux newbie and all I get is a dark screen.
I haven't tried to install it into a partition (because I'm afraid to lose the "one key recovery" software), but I've tried to install it via Wubi and also tried to run its live versions. All of them ends the same way: the LCD is turned on, but shows no image. I've tried to access the terminal (by pressing CTRL+ALT+F1), but nothing happens...
Do anyone have some idea about what is happening?!
    Thank you.
Edit: I re-tested version 9.04 with no-acpi and it worked fine.

    Hi
Tries with Ubuntu 9.04, this works well.
same thing happened to me. greetings

  • Lenovo G550 Service Partition problem

    Hello,
I've bought Lenovo G550 (without OS) and by mistake deleted my Service Partition, which contains files for OneKey recovery utility. I've searched forum, but hasn't found anything exact.
As I've searched, I've found out few things:
    - If I change any partition size, OneKey is no longer working
    - Only service support can fix this problem, in some countries I've gotta pay
I'd like to ask you for help. If there is any chance to DIY (do it yourself), just by downloading needed files and creating new partitions with required space.
I'd really appreciate if someone was there to assist, or just providing some more information about this problem.
    Sorry for my English.
    Thanks a lot !

there are about 113 backup wsi file, the one with number 34 seems damaged. for factory backups there's another issue with it. did you make any changes on volumes? cause if you did, one key recover and one key recover button will stop working.
in normal circumstances, eisa part is not visible. i'm not sure if it works if you copy files to usb.
if windows vista installed, run one-key recover 6.0.
already got backups, skip "back up" otherwise click that.
select full backup, quick compression and next >
choose the path or leave it default and next >
    and start.
after back up ends, restart the application one-key recover 6.0
click "create recovery disc" and next >
select the backup you have and next>
this screen will tell you how much cd or dvd you need, min 2 dvd or 8cd, max 7 dvd or 28 cd. and next>
insert the blank cds or dvds into driver and wait until done.
you may need the system image, you can lose your back-up cd, or cds may not working after a while, so , i still recommend that you keep the original copy or more than one backup.
size of recovery cd depens on how much size of disk space you use. its up 2-7 dvd or 4-28 cd.
