LENOVO G560 WARRANTY UPDATE

I own a LENOVO G560 laptop. I bought it on 23-6-2010. This shows that I have warranty covered till 23-6-2011. Now I got a problem in my laptop and i took it to service center. the service person told me that MOTHERBOARD IS TO BE REPLACED, and also he told me to BOOK A COMPLAINT WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSONNEL. I too did the same and customer service personnel said that my warranty is not updated and so HE ASKED TO SEND A SCANNED COPY OF MY INVOICE. I did that too and im waiting for getting my warranty updated Now my problems are, *) can i get my warranty updated within 48 hours of sending (as mentioned by that personnel) *) If it got late and exceeded 23-6-2011, then my warranty will be expired. can i still get my laptop serviced and motherboard replaced FULLY FREE OF COST. *) Notice that my laptop got repaired before my warranty expires. Still I am MADE to worry whether i can get access to my rights Please help me as soon as possible

Hi tog1966,
I'm sorry that your warranty status is not up-to-date as it supposed to be. Usually, the resellers would send in a list of sold products to Lenovo for a batch upate of warranty. However, i'm not sure about the frequency of getting the list.
In regard to your case, you can check with your reseller for the warranty update. Alternatively, you could PM me the details below and i'll see what i can do.
Full Name
Machine Type Model
Serial Number
Phone Contact
Email
Proof of purchase(receipt of the purchase that clearly state the machine serial number and purchase date)
Thank you!

  • Black screen with underscore after updating ubuntu on Lenovo G560

hello everybody, I'm new here. I looked for this problem online during the past few days but I haven't found a solution. I have a Lenovo G560 and I divided my hard drive into two partition, I installed Ubuntu on C:\ and Windows on D:\ and I haven't had any problem, but after updating ubuntu to version 14 my computer couldn't boot anymore. the bios loads and I see the Lenovo icon but then I just get a black screen with an underscore (not a blinking underscore), I tried booting from a bootable USB stick but the same thing happened (I put it as the first device to boot from in BIOS settings). can anyone please tell me what are my other options ? what should I try now ? thanks in advance and have a good day !

Hi s, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
    Try this:
Hold down the Option+Command (Apple)PR keys, boot/restart your MBP while continuing to hold down those four keys, and after you hear the startup chime for the second time, release the keys. That should reset your PRAM and resolve the issue.
If the issue persists, while you're booted into Open Firmware, just after the prompt, type in:
    reset-nvram
then press return, then type in:
    reset-all
and press return. This should restart your MBP and it should go back to starting normally.

  • Lenovo G560 cannot get Windows 7 SP1 via Windows Update

My Lenovo G560 laptop running Windows 7 Home Basic is not getting the option to download Windows 7 SP1 from Windows Update. What could be the problem? Has anyone else experienced this? What is the solution? I have had the laptop for almost two years.

    hi SipoKapumba,
Do you get any error code(s) after a failed installation of Windows 7 SP1? Chances are, the prequisite to install Windows 7 SP1 are not installed.
    Can you try to:
    1. Follow this article from Microsoft and this guide in installing Windows 7 SP1 thru Windows Update
    2. If it still fails, try to run Windows 7 SP1 Standalone Installer. (use the windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe for 64bit machines)
    Hope this helps

  • BIOS recovery, Lenovo G560?

Recived a error messag when I started the BIOS update tool, diden't think the updte whent through but when I later restret the computer I only get a plack screen and som LED's turned on.
I have a Lenovo G560 (0679 and tried to update to BIOS version 38.
I have read that you can flash the BIOS by hold down Fn+R keys and while holding press the power button.
For ths to work I need to rename a rom file and store it on a USB-thumbdrive. But I don't know which rom file to use and what to rename it?

warranty should cover the mainboard replacement if the bios update breaks it. please, call support line again and post back the results if they say the same thing one more time.

  • Error In Installing Windows XP in Lenovo G560

    Hi,
I am using lenovo G560 with Windows 7. Now i don't want to use it any more. so i decide to install Windows XP like normally in Desktops as i had used desktops only.
Boot from CD and windows Set started with loading files....in middle it stops by showing Blue Screen of Death I am not sure about it why is come.
Please suggest how to install Windows XP to replace windows 7 in lenovo G560
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello everyone!
I am using Lenovo G460, i guess it is not that different from G560 for the purposes of this discussion.
I had the same problem with a blue screen. I changed settings in BIOS from AHCI to Compatible and installed XP. After that I updated BIOS from within the XP, installed all the drivers, including the AHCI driver from Lenovo website.
Then, I go back to BIOS and change settings from Compatible to AHCI, and I get the blue screen again.
Ok, i don't know anything about NCQ and hot swapping, which I read about on wikipedia, and which i suppose are supported by AHCI, but my question is:
Should i now always stay with my settings as Compatible in BIOS and, therefore, never be able to use such features as NCQ and hot swapping? I repeat, that I don't know anything about AHCI or Compatible mode, but I figure that AHCI is better.
Please help me in finding the answer, whether to stay on Compatible and forget about AHCI, or may be there is some way to solve the problem for XP users with AHCI mode.
    Thank you very much.

  • Lenovo g560 keyboard stops working

All of a sudden my keyboard on my Lenovo g560 stops working then suddenly works again. Had this 2 months ago as well, was fixed by format and has been working since then. I really don't want to format again. I have updated BIOS and keyboard driver appears to be the latest version as well. Help?

Ok, a quick update. I unscrewed the screw next to the keyboard icon on the back and screwed it back. It worked for a while then stopped again. Started and stopped about 3 more times

  • Wifi problem, Lenovo G560, Broadcom device, cannt find drivers that work in Win 7 32bit.

    My problem is as folows:
i did a new clean install of Win 7 Home Proffesional on laptop
    Lenovo G560
    Bios: 29CN34WW
and after i downloaded all your recommended drivers from your support page i noticed that

    for broadcom wifi device.
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&CC_0280
    this is device hd id.
i downloaded drivers suggested in other posts:

With every version syptoms are the same - everything looks ok,
in device manager i can see the device, it says it works propperly,
but i cannt enable the connection. It pops enabling connection and just stops.
icon remains grey. My tcp connection works fine.
when i start troubleshooter it finds an problem, cannt find a solution and gives a message -
problem is probably with driver for the device.

    ipconfig /all
i have restarted my laptop like 20x times today from all the installing and uninstaling of drivers,

Even tried with "bin" and "rom" - didn't even work.

My next guess is that the ROM file within that package is faulty! So we need an old version to get back to a running state.

  • Wireless connection not working after installed newest Lenovo ThinkVantage System Update programs

    Hi, everyone!
I've installed some newest programs through Lenovo ThinkVantage System Update and just after that my wireless connection has stopped working. Here are the installed programs:
    ThinkPad UltraNav Driver for Windows 32-bit version 15.0.24.0;
    ThinkPad Power Management Driver version 1.60;
    ThinkPad Modem Adapter version 7.80.8.0;

    ThinkPad Power Manager version 1.88;
Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox (32-bit) version 6.0.5514.61.
    I've got a Lenovo T61 with Windows XP SP3.
Also in Device Manager, there are now the two "Other devices" bellow with a yellow question point and a yellow exclamation point by side:
    Bluetooth Hands-free Audio;
    Bluetooth LAN Access Server Driver.
Does anyone have any idea what can be done to have these issues solved?
P.S.: when I click Fn+F5 it shows only the Bluetooth Radio.

    Hello and welcome,
I've seen something like this on XP machines after updates a couple of times now - my T61, a friend's T400, and his daughter's T61.  I guess that makes 3
_Maybe_  your situation is the same.
The fix in all 3 cases was to go to device manager and uninstall the wifi driver.  Then scan for hardware changes and let it reinstall the driver.  Something about how Access Connections or some other networking mangement thingy was hooking the drivers I guess.
On both of the friend's machines, the wired networking was also b0rked.  Same fix there.

  • Lenovo G560 and windows 8.1

    Hi
This question is related to a laptop (Lenovo G560) with "Intel HM55 chipset + Integrated Intel HD graphics w/ shared video memory".
I wanted to know if windows 8.1 will run on it (At present it is running on windows 7 hom basic). The lenovo site does not have a chipset driver for windows 8 but there is one for windows 7.
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_IN/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT072731
Windows 7 has following drivers -
Intel Chipset driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)
Intel Management Engine Interface for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)
    Windows 8 has only -
Intel Management Engine Interface Driver for Microsoft Windows 8
Does windows 8 does need intel chipset driver? Does windows 8.1 have a generic inbuilt driver  for this chipset?  Will it work? Please help?
Also - will windows 7 drivers work in windows 8.1.

    hi rohit2276,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I tried checking the drivers on the Intel Websie for chipset drivers,
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng
And no drivers as well for chipset on Windows 8 and 8.1
The Chipset HM55 is fully supported on WIndows 8 thus not needing additional Software installation.
Yes the Windows 7 Drivers should work by doing a manual installation , but those are not recommended.
Since Windows 8 drivers are released for this model it means that the system should do fine with Windows 8 /8.1

    hi g4m3fr34k,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Lenovo g560 has a configuration with discrete Nvidia.
You can check this G560 datasheet
    http://www.lenovo.com/shop/americas/content/pdf/notebooks/Essential/G-Series/G560%20datasheet.pdf
Discrete graphics is an optional feature when ordered, These discrete graphics are soldered to the motherboard
You can send me your Serial number Through Private Message let me check your system config. if it came with an Nvidia. but Normally you can check this under your Device Manager / Display Adapter it should show you two graphics device Intel and Nvidia.
From the same Lenovo Data sheet
Lenovo g560 RAm can be upgraded till 8GB and on the system's Maintenance Manaual
    you can see compatible Processors.
and you can check the Manual about proper CPU replacement procedure.
Changing the CPU which contains the Intel HD graphics will possibly change the Intel HD graphics model.
but I believe adding a discrete Nvidia on a non Nvidia motherboard is not possible.
