Lenovo G570 drivers - power mgt driver suggestion by win 7 - acceptability!

I have a g570 that will only charge after the battery totally drains and the unit powers itself down.  I've replaced the charger and the battery, but nothing changed.  When the adapter is plugged in the battery icon only shows the remaining power percent and estimated time left.  It no longer says it's charging, because it isn't.   I restored the system to a point when the charger was working, but that didn't help either.  Anyone have any ideas or a solution?  Any advice wouild be appreciated.

Hi dand1023,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Can you try going to Control Panel and Uninstall the current Lenovo Energy Management Software.
and install this
 Lenovo Energy Management
  - Open Lenovo Energy Management and make sure that the battery setting is in Maximum Battery Life.
  - Open Device Manager and look under batteries, uninstall Microsoft ACPI- Compliant Control Method Battery.
restart the system and check if the issue is still the same
Hope this helps,
Cheers!

  • Win7 Lenovo G570 - May29,13 AMD driver problem

Trying to install the late May 29, 13 drivers on my lenovo g570 laptop. Win7-64 bit AMD HD6370M
Removed all trails and scents of my earlier drivers prior to intalling
    Problems:
     - the install goes through suspiciously fast and does not actually install ANYthing. After rebooting, the display drivers are still shown as vga.dll etc not atioxxx-something. dll
Have tried re-downloading should it have been a corrupt download, followed through the same procedure - nothing changes.
The problems occur with this particular package, earlier installs work fine, BUT...I wouldn't be asking about it if I didn't want to install the new ones, would I?
    What to do?
    Thanks

    Hi
Iv'e not seen this happening in the Y560 which also runs an AMD . If you dont have a particular reason of installing only 11.10 I would suggest you could try the older versions especially the LTS ones.. The Unity interface sucks IMO
    Cheers and regards,

  • Problems with Lenovo G570 dvd drive

I've got a Lenovo G570 using Windows 7.  I've recently lost the ability to use my DVD drive.  It appears in the Computer file but won't load anything.  I've already checked and the software is supposedly up to date.  I've even taken it out and re-seated it but nothing works.  Any advice?

    Hi IMFrellingWonko,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
The Upper and lower filter does not fit he Symptom here but I suggest you give it a shot
                http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
check My Computer screen when you put in a CD, sometimes autoplay won't work but you have to double click the CD icon to open the content.
If you already tried other known good disc format (DVD, regular CD, Mp3,data,bootable CDs) and still won't recognize any of them
It's possible that the Drive itself is having issue,
If you have other laptops that fits with the Drive size you can swap the Cd drive and check if it will work with other laptops. You can call Technical Support if the Laptop is still in Warranty.

  • Lenovo G570 Windwos xp drivers

    Hi All,
    this is My first post.
I am Using Lenovo g570 laptop. I have installed Vm ware on this i installed Windows xp SP3 32 bit Operating system.
i want to install chipset and VGA drivers on my vertual system.
Whwnever i try to insatll Chipset drivers It gives message: System did not match with minimum requirement.
need help to resolve this same.

    Hi,
So we're clear - you want to install these drivers in the virtual machine, not the G570 OS?
VMWare doesn't reflect the host machine's hardware to the virtual client.  It emulates a specific set of virtual hardware that is the same regardless of the host.  You won't be able to install Lenovo drivers inside the virtual machine, since the virtual harware is not the same as the host's physical hardware.
Install VMWare tools, if you haven't already.  It should provide the drivers you need.  If not, open device manager in your virtual machine and see what the virtual hardware is.
Somewhere on the VMWare site there should be a list of emulated hardware.  I'll poke around there and see if I can find it.
[edit]  Here's a snip of the virtual hardware in my XP client running under VMWare Player 4 on a Win 7 Ult 64 i7 desktop.  Note that this "hardware" is not the same as the host hardware.
[more edit] Below that is a partial snip of the physical hardware in the host machine.  You can see that they are quite different.

  • What power management driver for u530 64bit Windows 8.1?

Having a lot of issues with my new (refurbished) Lenovo u530. One issue is that I have an unknown device in device manager that appears to be related to my lack of a power management driver. The reason I have no power management driver is because lenovo offers none to download on the drivers page when I select windows 8.1.
The Windows 8 option lists as working with the u530,  Z410, Z510, Z710.
    http://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-u-series-laptops/ideapad...
When I go to the support page for z410/z510 I see they have an 8.1 driver available, but u530 is not listed.
    http://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-z-series-laptops/ideapad...
Z710 also has no 8.1 driver available on the lenovo site.
I have found a reference out there that suggested this driver: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/em8180214.exe but it's kind of out of nowhere and don't want to try it without somebody saying it's correct.

    hi RegerREdhawk,
    Thanks for Posting!
I would suggest using the same Windows 8 Power Management Software,
    Lenvo Energy Management Driver for Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit) - IdeaPad U530 Touch, Z410, Z510, Z710
Im pretty sure that the version for 8.1 will be released for this model.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers!

  • Power Management Driver wont install in Windows 7

Hi All, I've been trying to get my blue Fn keys to work on my recently purchased SL500.  Volume and screen brightness keys work (but no on-screen display), however Fn+F3 & F5 do nothing, as does the blue ThinkVantage button.  Installed drivers via System Update, however every time I get the message "Package did not install - ThinkPad Power Management Driver for SL Series".  Power Manager is installed and running but the driver is not listed under Program & Features.   I'm guessing the lack of this driver is the problem.  Anyone else seen this or have a fix ?  Thanks.

Please visit: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds014985 but don't download the most current version (3.89.0100) at the top. If you look at the readme, you'll see that the SL500 is not included in the supported systems list.
Instead, scroll downwards to the version table and have a look at the readme for v3.88.0000. You'll see your machine in the supported list, so you could give that one a try, if you want.
    Regards.

  • Web Camera doesn't work on my Lenovo G570 laptop, Please Help?

Well I recently bought a lenovo G570 laptop. The webcam worked fine for the first month. I don't really know when the camera stopped working but it seems that every software that uses a camera can detect the camera but when the video window pops up it is just plain white. I know the reason isn't because of the hot key FN+ESC because it works fine, I can disable and enable the camera. I read many threads with the same problem. I uninstalled and re-installed the drivers and easy capture but it does not solve my problem. Can someone please help?

As I  understand the camera is not working.
If the camera is getting activate by Fn+Esc key then it could be driver issue.
You need to uninstall the camera software and other relates software.
Update the BIOS and then install the camera drier
Download the BIOS update for Windows 7 32bit from the mentioned below web link.

  • New Lenovo G570 Teething Issues

Dear Lenovo-connected moderators, outriders and the like (Please note that in error I originally posted this to the other thread):
I just bought in Europe a new Lenovo G570.  I have the following issues:
Since I always resize the C: partition I have removed the possibility of using one-key restore.  It seems bizarre that Lenovo would force keeping the C: partition at its initial size.  Surely it would be possible to write the one-key software to work around repartitioning the HDD.  I did the resize of the C: partition immediately after purchase as part of my personal data and program installation and found out later about the requirement not to resize.  Moreover, as far as I can recall there was no D: partition already installed, which I might have been able to live with (I prefer multiple data partitions).  Any way to fix this problem?  For I restored the C: partition to its original size but that didn't help; I couldn't get the recovery DVD's made; the one-key button was non-functional.  What do I have to do to get the recovery features back?  For I see that for very similar products a fresh install of Win 7 causes all kinds of problems, and in the absence of recovery DVD's that's really the only other option.  I should point out that at the moment the computer is working; I'm just trying to do my preventative medicine for the day the computer crashes.
Lenovo's model numbering is very confusing, as is the Lenovo habit of updating system specs on the fly.  My model name is 20079; my model number is CB01031166.  If I download the current specs for the model from the Lenovo site (just did) they don't agree with what I have.  Major differences are that my computer shipped with an Intel i5-2410M processor, a 640 GB HDD and with a separate ATI Graphics Card (Radeon Premium).  Thanks, but this leads to issues about driver updates when I search for downloads for my computer on the Lenovo site.  In particular, it's not clear to me whether I should be reflashing BIOS with the latest BIOS.  On the thread about serious issues with the Idea Pad Z570, I saw recommended the reflashing of the BIOS.  You might ask, well why would I go there?  Because the Lenovo site does not support searching on models that are not branded Think Pad or Idea Pad.  Mine's branded Essentials and it's just not recognized even in the automated search using the Internet Explorer.  So searching for Lenovo G570, that's what a Google search turned up and the specs of the Z570 are extremely similar to the G570 I have.  So if someone could tell me how to find the driver updates for my model, I'd be very grateful.
I see in the Z570 thread that if the CD is not the first boot priority then the WiFi doesn't work.  Does this also apply to my model?
When I boot with an external Sata HDD attached (to see if BIOS will recognize it for boot purposes), the boot procedure freezes until I unplug the Sata HDD.  Of course the external HDD is plugged into the USB port.  This seems to be a problem with the BIOS, although admittedly I can't recall if the BIOS flash screen shows and it freezes after, or it freezes before it reaches the BIOS flash screen.
I also see that the fan that's always running is actually a serious warranty issue.  I hadn't realized that it wasn't some quirk of my software.  So here we are with a serious warranty issue.  Update: 23/2/12.  This does not seem to be a real problem on my machine at the moment.  While the fan works more than I would have expected, it will shut down eventually once the computer is not doing anything.  Possibly the actual software I'm using on the machine is causing heavy fan use.  This is something of a relief.
According to the specs the computer ships with a USB/eSata port.  And indeed there is a port in the right place that is different from the other USB ports.  The port of course works with USB.  However, its shape is not the usual eSatap shape.  In particular it doesn't have the cutouts left and right for the usual eSatap jack.  Instead it has a cutout at the top.  But for the life of me and my dealer, there is nowhere on the Net where we can find an image of the Lenovo USB/eSata port and certainly nowhere where I can buy a jack/adaptor/external SATA disk that fits the Lenovo USB/eSata port.
Here's an image of my USB/eSata port.  It's the middle of the three ports.  Of course, on the left is something for TV that is irrelevant, and to the right is a normal USB port.  How do I find anything to work with it at eSata speeds?
    Thanks very much.

    Thanks for replying ExJamJus.
I will ask the local reseller, but I suspect they don't know more than anyone else.  The problem is that the specs are very fluid on these units--after all, I have a ATI Radeon graphics card whereas the specs typically say that its an integrated (on-the-motherboard) Intel graphics card.  Some places, as other users have noted, they do spec it as having an eSata/USB port, but there's just no plug available with that shape with any specification.  My technician who sold me the computer thought that the only possibility was that the plug would be introduced later.  He'd never seen one and he takes computers apart and fixes them.
As for the drivers, I installed all the drivers.  Nothing terrible happened except as follows:
One of the ATI Radeon updates, for Hydravision I believe, comes to an end where kdbsync.exe can't start at boot time because Open.dll is missing.  You can follow up on the Internet.  The fix is to download Open.dll and put it in the proper folder in Program files.  It works now--or at least I don't get an error message at boot time.
This is import for Lenovo: Lenovo energy management upgrade gave me the option to install on top of the old Lenovo energy management but it would require a reboot.  So I did it.  But what happened was that Lenovo energy management wouldn't start at boot time.  I tried repair, no deal.  So I had to completely uninstall Lenovo energy management and then do a fresh install.  It works now.  This is going to irritate people.  Bad for business.
It's unclear in some of these cases just what driver is installed on the computer and it's not clear whether the driver installer programs are always coded to check whether the driver being installed is not older than the installed driver.  So it makes it a little chancy to download and install a driver that was issued not long before the manufacture date of the product.

  • T61 Power Management Driver for Windows 7 - where?

I cannot find a released Power Management Driver for Windows 7 for the Thinkpad T61.
I see a version 1.60 but it does not include Windows 7 for the T61.  And the only other one I have found is beta.
As an aside, do I even need the Power Management Driver if I'm not going to use Power Manager?

Right there in the T61 drivers and software dowload page:  "Support -> Download Drivers and Software -> enter T61"
    ThinkPad Power Management Driver
README for ThinkPad Power Management Driver
In the driver matrix, it's listed as for "ACPI Power Management" for Vista and lower - but is the same driver. The readme and download page include Win 7 if you dig a little deeper.  Maybe that's what is causing the confustion.
[edit] Sorry, spoke too soon.  I dug a little deeper.  The readme doesn't list the T61 under WIn 7, only Vista.  OTOH, the download page for the T61 lists that driver for Win 7.  Anyone actually try it?

  • Lenovo g570 integrated graphic card problem

Hello, i've been forced to switch from windows 8 to windows 7 64 bit , and unfortunetly I'm not able to install graphic drivers . I've tried to install the one from lenovo drivers & support but whenever i try to do it i recieve an error "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" . I am of course not able to install AMD drivers as well . Device manager -> display adapters detects only Standard VGA Graphics Adapter and that's strange as well. I've tried to reinstall windows , tried windows 7 32bit , windows 7 proffesional N all with the same result.

    Hi Hliberacki,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that the Graphics and its driver features are not installing or working as expected in your G570 Laptop, the latest driver can be download from the AMD website and a simple auto detect application will install in the computer to make sure a relevant display driver for G570 Laptop is downloaded, below is the link to AMD auto detect application.
    AMD Driver Autodetect
    Hope this helps!!!
Do post us back if the issue still persists.
