LENOVO G580 2189 PROBLEM WIRELESS ON WIN 7 64BIT

Hello!
I bought lenovo g580 with preinstaled windows8
I changed them with windows 7 ultimate 64bit
After finding that my laptop is 2189 (because lenovo wants us to find out with the hard way instead making clear which one is 2189 and which one 2689 and ofcourse have separate drivers for the two versions and make our lives easy)
i installed all drivers and the wifi isn't working
i see by fn+f5 that wifi is on but nothing at all
if i unplug lan cable nothing...
i tried all the drivers available in section
still nothing
wifi seems on and activated but actually network controller never been installed with those drivers!!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!!

there is one post with a reply about using a driver for G580 and win7 64bit
it worked!!!
SOMEONE MODERATOR MUST INFORM LENOVO SUPPORT TO TAKE CARE OF THE MATTER AND THE CORRECT DRIVER ADDED IN DOWNLOAD SECTION
I lost 27 hours trying find out what is going on..
This is ridicolous.......

    I have a lenovo g580 with windows 8
when i try to install drivers i get some errors, any driver with other error:
smart audio hd with dolby-  failure with non reason'
    tuchpad ealn....-"ask for dspint package"
i download all the drivers from lenovo official web and i have energy mangement for windows 8
one more problem is in "fn" function,i dont see any fn function in the screen (no wifi,bluetooth,tuchpad,camera....)
only music. when i touch fn+f5 to turn off/on wifi the system shows on "airplane mode".
    thanks

finally did it!!!! i had the same problem and now it works!
you first install the driver, and will tell no driver found ..., then go in C:\drivers\Bluetooth Driver (CyberTan, Liteon)\Broadcom\Win64   and execute Inst.exe and let it install all what it needs, don't press anything. if it still not works try install the same exe after activating bt with fn+f5.
win64 is for the one who have 64bit and I think that win32 will work for the one who have 32bit.
le: I have win7, i think it works the same for win8.. try it..
le2: and something else, I disabled UEFI from bios. I don't know if this is important, but it works for me with UEFI disabled.

    Hello Hemanth or anyone!
I am having the same issue.  I cleaned my keyboard by spraying Windex on a paper towel then wiping the keys on my Lenovo G570.  Now I have the same issue as the poster above.
Mostly an issue with the qwerty row keys.
Weird that it's the same behavior as the poster ie: Pressing T echos a TR
I can answer your queries, below:
External Keyboard works fine, On Screen Keyboard works fine, Issue persists in safe mode, uninstalled keyboard via device mamanger and issue persists.
I assumed a hardware issue this morning when it didn't clear with the first reboot.  I blew air into the keyboard this morning with no change.
If this is a hardward issue, will it clear after drying?  Or is a component permantley damaged?
    Regards,
As per the query we understood that you are facing the issue with Keyboard on your Lenovo G580.
Please let us know have you checked with ‘External keyboard’?
Have you checked with ‘On Screen Keyboard’?
Boot the system into safe mode and check if the issue still persists it that.
Check with uninstalling the Keyboard adapter from device manager once.

  • Lenovo G580 BSOD problems with certain applications

    Hi everyone,
Not sure if I'm posting this to the right place so please feel free to redirect me if this doesn't belong here. Purchased a new lenovoG580 a couple of weeks ago and ever since I've been occassionally getting blue screens, followed by reboot. I  firstly noticed that thisonly occurs when using Dropbox so I thought it was a dropbox issue. But after doing a bit of digging around I relaise it's not. (I also later noticed that it happens when I am using bittorrent as well). Each time I run either of these programmes the system crashes and i get the dreaded BSOD. I posted about this initially on the dropbox forum but I've been advised that it is indeed a Lenovo issue and I need to contact them. I'm including the link from the dropbox website to give a bit more background information on the issue
    https://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=62093
Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Linda

Ok so I uninstalled Webroot and opened bittorrent and downloaded for about 1 hour and no BSOD. All looking good. Then i downloaded dropbox and began syncing. After about 3 minutes of syncing it crashed I've linked the mini dump file
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/hupetx
So it looks like removing the antivirus worked for bittorrent but not dropbox. Any other suggestions?
Also, probably a stupid question, but does this mean I cannot use an antivirus software if I want to download torrents?
Again, thank you for the help.
    Greatly appreciated,
    Linda

  • Lenovo G580 Blue Screen With Dropbox

    Dear Lenovo community,
I bought a new Lenovo G580 last week, but dropbox causes the system to crash (Blue Screen).
Windows gives the following error codes:
    ffff8a00b9ffa0a
    000000000000
    ffff80003092be1
    000000000000
I found a previous post on this forum with the problem (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-3000-and-Essential/Lenovo-G580-BSOD-problems-with-certain-applica... but there was no solution back then.
Any Ideas on how to solve this?
    Kind Regards
    Koen

Not sure if this helps, but I did a memtest with this program:
    http://hcidesign.com/memtest/download.html
And it claims "Could not allocate 4095 MB".
This would imply mij memory chips are failing right? So this is a hardware problem?

  • Lenovo G580(20157) [Win 7] Bluetooth problems??

I have a lenovo G580(20157) which has a BCM4313 wireless chipset which supports both WiFi as well as Bluetooth, (citation here: Broadcom Chipsets)
However I can't use the Bluetooth capability of my chipset.....
I tried downloading drivers from the Lenovo website(Drivers Main Page), but it would say no driver found at the end of the installation!!
Also I downloaded Lenovo Energy Managment, and it only shows WiFi (here is a screenshot)
I also tried downloading Broadcom Bluetooth Solution but itis stuck at detetcting device:
    P.S: I have a new windows 7 installation...Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    hi ArchKudo,
Looking at the G580 parts (page 102 of the HMM), the Broadcom BCM4313 that the machine uses is a Wi-Fi only card .
      - Link to picture
      - Sample item (BCM4313 with Bluetooth)
      - Sample item (BCM4313 Wi-FI only)
This may explain why you only see the Wi-Fi settings when you press Fn+F5, In this case, you may need to use a usb bluetooth adapter (like this item) to enable bluetooth functionality on the machine.
    Regards

  • Lenovo G580 - Beep Code (Problem)

    Hello.
I have problem with my laptop Lenovo G580.
I buy this laptop 3 months ago without systems. I have system Win 7 32-bit and 64-bit.
Now i ahve problems with laptops and warranty service.
Laptop turns on normally sometimes and sometimes not. ( If problems shows, i cut the power off, remove battery wait for few sec, and turn on, sometimes i must do it 3 times)
It often happens that the computer will not boot just beeps.
The video below, also sometimes blink window.
    Link 1: http://youtu.be/e_fbWrL0ZHs
    Link 2: http://youtu.be/woviKyV7JdI
I thought that it is the fault of the firmware so I reinstalled Windows from 64-bit to 32-bit. It did not work. Flashing window appeared even when installing on a clean drive( second link, window blink on the beginning video), so I think it is rather not the fault of the firmware just the laptop PC hardware.
I sent the laptop with cinematics to warranty service and wrote back to me that "after many hour tests, there was no problem" reset bios, swapped RAM and sent him back to me.
Already two times I sent the laptop to them. Can you advise me what the problem is? What i can do to solve problem? Sorry for language mistakes. If need more information ples write in this topic.
    Please help.

    hi Arczi_Ghost,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
From the first video, it looks like there's a problem with the Windows Loader or a system file that's needed to load but fails. Since you already re-installed Windows, this is most likely not an OS issue.
    - Windows 7 Boot Process
From the second video, the flickering can be with the display (LCD) or wit hthe GPU / GPU driver. It's a bit early to tell without running some tests.
If you manage to boot Windows, can you try the following:
    1. Install Lenovo Solutions Center and run a full hardware scan on the PC.
2.. Alternatively, you can also manually install the following and run a quick test on the unit.
    - Lenovo Video Quick Test
    - Lenovo Motherboard Bus Quick Test
    - Lenovo Memory Test
    - Lenovo Storage Quick Test
    Edt: Fixed the links
Let me know how it goes.

  • Lenovo G580 - WIndows 8 - Resizing OS partition & problems with system recovery

    Hello Everybody,
Just bought a Lenovo G580 notebook with pre installed Windows 8 (500gb harddisk, 4 gb RAM, Intel B960).I have been using Easeus partition manager with Windows 7 & its been working very well.So I wanted to partition my new HDD with it.Upon creating the a new 100gb partition (most importantly from OS partition that was about 428 gb) a very strange thing happened. The Refresh/Reset functions of WIndows 8 stopped working saying required recovery files are missing, also Lenovo One Key recovery program does not work with the message that required service partition is currently unavailable. At the same time, apparently  partition called Windows recovery  (1000 mb, hidden) still exists. One more peculiar thing I noticed & that is there is a new 1mb unallocated partition before the Windows recovery partition. While partitioning I did not receive any message about deleting of any data. One last piece of information (not sure if relevant) is before doing partition I had created a system image that I am unable to restore, Windows 8 repair function recognises the image bit is unable to restore it.
Any ideas how to restore the System Recovery functions or how to restore the system image.
    Thanks
    Petr

  • No sound on my G580 Notebook after upgrading to win 8.1

SInce upgrading to Win 8.1 on my 64bit Lenovo G580 notebook I kept receiving a message about Dolby driver problems (my sound did work though).  Then I thought I would get rid of this message - update Dolby drivers - and followed advice on the internet.  As I remember, this advice told me to uninstall all sound / dolby drivers and then install new drivers.
In doing this I somehow also uninstalled Dolby PCEE4 drivers for my G580.
I subsequently installed the latest G580 conexant drivers but with no success.  I can "see" that the drivers are working (when I click on the sound icon bottom right of the desktop), but there is no sound.  Other internet advice has been to obtain PCEE4 drivers - but I don't find any files from Lenovo to download.
I've tried to reload Dolby Advanced Audio V2, but it ends prematurely with the prior message that PCEE needs to be installed.
    Can someone please assist?

  • G580(2189) Wi-Fi doesn't want to connect to a network after sleep.

    Hi.
My G580(2189) don't want to connect to a Wi-Fi network after sleep. It's not just my network at home, but at work and other points of interest as well. It usually after a reboot it works again. And sometimes, al tho rarely after just going back to sleep and waking it up again.
I've tried updating drivers, but always been confused to what hardware is being used in this laptop since it just says "broadcom" or something.
I did update my device to Win 8.1. But I'm pretty sure I had this problem before that tho.
And I tried to contact Lenovo support, since I'm not really a forum-kind-of-guy. But their support site it so confusing for simple person to person contact.
Tanks in advance for any advice.

    hi Paverx,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Can you try enabling Hybrid Sleep and see if that works,

  • Error related to EFI system..unable to install windows 7 64-bit on lenovo g580..

    Hi,
I have Lenovo g580 which had DOS preinstalled in it {i5, 500GB, 4GB} and initially I had installed Win 7 32-bit on it. At that time, it gave some problem while rebooting 1st time, but i ran repair windows option and everything ran smoothly.
But the problem came when I tried to install windows 7 64-bit on the laptop using a DVD, no matter which drive I select, it does not allow me to go ahead. When I checked the details, I got the error message which is attached here.
    Link to image
There is no disk controller option in BIOS, nor is there anything related tto UEFI systems.
i did r&d on uefi systems, but i want to be sure of everything before i go ahead with anything.
     Any help would be appreciated.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks for no help guyz!
but i found a way..so for anybody else out there..here is the solution..
When installing at the partition screen hit Shift+F10.
At the prompt type diskpart and press Enter.
Type list disk (Not the number of the disk you want to use)
Type select disk X where is X is the number of the disk you want to use.
Type clean. This will erase all the data on your system.
    Type convert gpt
Now reboot the system with the DVD/USB, and you will see only Unallocated Space. Use that to install the new windows.
Be warned though, this will clear out the partition table on the drive; make sure you have a backup before attempting this if you have important data

  • G580 20150 problem game automatically shut down

    Dear Lenovo Community!
I have bought my Lenovo G580 (20150) this summer, and ever since, I have been facing an annoying problem. When I try to play a game (regardless of its system requirements), after a few minutes, the laptop shuts down suddenly automatically without any previous warning or explanation after rebooting. I have already tried World of warplanes, Empire Total War and the new Tombraider as well, but the result is the same. However, there is no lagging even on medium-high settings. Besides, the laptop works fine without problems when I use other non-gameing programmes.
I sent it back to a local laptop service (I have bought from them), but they said that they didn't manage to find any problem.
What should I do? Please, help me.
    Best regards
PS: I am not a native speaker, so If I was not clear, please let me know and I will try to explain it better.

Ah, I forgot to mention that I use win 8 x64, it may be important.
