Hello all,
Im using a G580 laptop.but recently my laptop motherboard got repaired. I need to buy a new motherboard. I am having trouble finding one online. so can u suggest for me??plz

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
From the first video, it looks like there's a problem with the Windows Loader or a system file that's needed to load but fails. Since you already re-installed Windows, this is most likely not an OS issue.
- Windows 7 Boot Process
From the second video, the flickering can be with the display (LCD) or wit hthe GPU / GPU driver. It's a bit early to tell without running some tests.
If you manage to boot Windows, can you try the following:
1. Install Lenovo Solutions Center and run a full hardware scan on the PC.
2.. Alternatively, you can also manually install the following and run a quick test on the unit.
- Lenovo Video Quick Test
- Lenovo Motherboard Bus Quick Test
- Lenovo Memory Test
- Lenovo Storage Quick Test

    Recently I bought a new Lenovo G580 Laptop in the Emirates and after using it for 10 days, the battery got dead. I never used the laptop while it was on the charging mode and took complete care as it is brand new. Also used to charge it once in a couple of days. It is a disappointed since its a brand new machine. Anyone also facing this problem?

    Try removing the AC and battery then hold power button for 3 seconds, repeat this 3 times then put the AC and battery back and see if it helps.
    Also try leaving the AC on and charge the laptop for the night. If problem persist then contact support to get the hardware checked.

    Hello.
    I have problem with my laptop Lenovo G580.
    I buy this laptop 3 months ago without systems. I have system Win 7 32-bit and 64-bit.
    Now i ahve problems with laptops and warranty service.
    Laptop turns on normally sometimes and sometimes not. ( If problems shows, i cut the power off, remove battery wait for few sec, and turn on, sometimes i must do it 3 times)
    It often happens that the computer will not boot just beeps.

    I thought that it is the fault of the firmware so I reinstalled Windows from 64-bit to 32-bit. It did not work. Flashing window appeared even when installing on a clean drive( second link, window blink on the beginning video), so I think it is rather not the fault of the firmware just the laptop PC hardware.
    I sent the laptop with cinematics to warranty service and wrote back to me that "after many hour tests, there was no problem" reset bios, swapped RAM and sent him back to me.
    Already two times I sent the laptop to them. Can you advise me what the problem is? What i can do to solve problem? Sorry for language mistakes. If need more information ples write in this topic.

  • Lenovo G580 BIOS update problem - Error 255

    Hi!
    I read a lot of these problems, but there were no solutions, not even a feedback from Lenovo...
    So I have the same problem.
    - I download this update: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/62cn40​ww_64.exe
    - I try to run it as Administrator and I got the error message: Error 255 - TDK library initialization failed
    What could be the solution? I tried the advices from other forum posts, but I still have the problem. I have Win7 x64. My laptop is G580 (20150 model).

  • Lenovo G580 Performanc​e problem

    Hi everyone,i think i have performance problems with my Lenovo IdeaPad G580 Dark Metal
    -Intel Core i7 3632QM Ivy Bridge
    -RAM 4GB
    -NVIDIA GeForce GT635M 2GB
    -Windows 8
    And fps in Far Cry 3 is only about 30 on low settings
                     Need for speed The Run is about 35 on medium settings 
    So, it is normal or i really have performance probs ?

    Hi there i bought my Y500 a year ago, last month the mother board sudennky "died"
    i sent my laptop to the official lenovo at israel. it is unfotunate that your representive here say that it requires unlimited time to supply and fix my laptop and it is been more than a month that the computer just lays in the lab waiting for new mother board while the represntive of lenovo  in israel said to me that they dont care that i am without a computer and they dont care that it will take more than a month, when i asekd to talk to a supervisor they say there isnt any supervision on them her and they can do as they want, i just wnated to point that before this computer i had an asus laptop that last more than 4.5 years and here your computer broke only after less then a year it is unbelivable.
    i asked for a new computer instead of mine and i got refused in the claim that lenovo doen not supply new computer and they are not oblegting for fixing time at the lab!

    this is the last computer i am bying from your brand!

  • Lenovo g580 Wifi new problem broadcom bcm943142h​m

    So week like week ago my wifi problem started the signal strat to be very low (0) or full but for like a second.
    I have tried change plugs(black goes first then white?) /new drivers/change to simple broadcom to network adapter I even tried to unplug a whole card and replug it. I also tried things like Broadcom 802.11 Multiband Network Adapter but still no luck. I forgot to mention that it connects with phones with no problems and other devices connect with router without any problem so as my Lenovo not so long ago

    If I understand correcly - you are getting low WiFi signal strength from your wireless adapter.  Have you attempted connections with other WiFi hot spots or access points to eleminate issues with your own wireless equipment?
    If you have a local wireless hotspot (internet cafe) that you can try, do so.  If your wireless remains with very low (one or two bars) at all WiFi spots you try, then it would sound like your WiFi card is begining to fail.  If you decide to replace the WiFi card, make sure you use one that is Lenovo branded or it will not work.

    I have bought new Lenovo 580G .I install Windows 7 64bit, but when I`m istalling Intel video drivers and restart system after loading and shows desktop system restart. Sometimes will load system, after that I `m istalling Gforce GT630 drivers, after restart it is the same. I tried with drivers from CD , and drivers from support lenovo.   I tried with Windows 7 Ultimate, x64,  and Home Premium x64 .  I can`t find driver for Windows XP .

    Sorry to hear about the issues your facing. Hope i can assist. Base from you post you may need to go to the BIOS and Check if the  Graphics has been set correctly. The Bios is able to set the machine to using the HD GPU or the NVDIA GPU or both simultaneously.  
    Also please try the latest drivers available on Support site, Please give them a try

  • Required Lenovo G580 motherboard

    Hello fellow members,
    It has been a year since I bought a Lenovo G580 laptop. Recently, I encountered a display failure. When I went to a local repair shop, I was told that the graphics card has been broken and since it is not detachable, the whole motherboard will have to be replaced. I have now two questions pertaining to the issue
    1) Is it true that the graphics card is not detachable from the Lenovo G580 motherboard?
    2) And if so, is there any online shop that sells new / used lenovo g580 motherboards and also provides shipping service in Pakistan.

    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
    Regarding your questions:
    1. For G580 models with discrete graphics (Nvidia GT610M/GT630M), the GPU is soldered on the motherboard.
    Although this is the case, this can be detached but only professional reballing service centers does this as they have the required tools to desolder the leds.
    2. Check this ebay item as Pakistan is included in the Shipping and handling. 
    Note:
    From the description of the ebay item, the motherboard is taken out from a Lenovo G580, MTM: 59344049. The motherboard only has an Integrated (Intel) Graphics
    Check this image for a list of motherboards with discrete graphics.

  • Lenovo G580 20157 but no HDMI port?

    Hello,
    My brother has recently purchased a Lenovo G580 laptop from New World in Menlyn, Pretoria, South Africa (http://www.newworldmenlyn.co.za)
    According to the advertised specs (http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/essential/g-series/g580/index.html#techspecs) and the PDF manual that came with the laptop, this model should definitely have an HDMI port right next to the two USB ports on the left side, as well as Bluetooth connectivity, however neither are present.
    Prior to purchasing from New World he looked at a demo model (the same one) at another store (Incredible Connection - http://www.incredible.co.za) which DID have an HDMI port and Bluetooth.
    As such we are worried that he might have purchased a gray market, refurbished or fake unit.
    When checking the warranty status (with serial number) at http://support.lenovo.com/en_ZA/product-service/warranty-status/default.page?, the warranty shows "active", though.
    The laptop's touchpad is also extremely unreliable, to the point of being impossible to use without causing MAJOR frustration. We tried updating to the latest Windows 8 touchpad drivers and played with all the settings in the ELAN drivers, as well as the default Windows trackpad settings, but nothing helped.
    Please can someone from Lenovo confirm whether this laptop should in fact have an HDMI port, Bluetooth, and a trackpad that works (I will provide the serial nr. in a PM upon request), and what we should do to rectify this problem.
    Appreciate any help.

    Sorry but I can't relate that 20157 number to the 8-digit numbers in the 3book
    Perhaps it's an international model that isn't in the 3book.  Hopefully someone else will join the conversation and shed some light.
    I can say (again) that there are non-bluetooth non-HDMI G580 machines listed so I don't think yours is somehow missing those features "by mistake" from the factory.  More likely your retailer just didn't represent the laptop correctly

  • Wifi is gone after downloading or sleep modus Lenovo G580

    Hi everyone,
    Can someone help me with a computerproblem I have been troubling with eversince I bought the computer?
    About two weeks ago I bought the Lenovo G580 laptop at the same moment as my little brother.
    Now we are dealing with the same problems eversince: The Wifi connection is gone after closing the laptop and letting it go in sleep mode. The sign in the right bottom corner is still there and it says that it is connected, but when I open Google chrome it won't go any further then the homepage. My little brother has the same problem, although I also have it when I have downloaded something. I know that the Wifi is still working because it still works on my Iphone. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

    Does the problem occur when you are browsing the web also? I am experiencing wifi problem as well. My wifi connection will stop working and become Limited. Mine will disconnect every 30 minutes or so. I have to disconnect and reconnect again in order to browse the web. My computer is just 2 weeks old.

  • G580 Laptop BIOS setup not starting

    Hello,I've a Lenovo G580 Laptop (2nd Gen PDC B960, 2 GB, 500 GB, DOS) When I bought it came pre-installed DOS, and then I install Windows 7 ultimate (32-bit, i didn't know at that time, 2nd gen PDC are 64-bit). My friend recommend me to disable UEFI from boot setup before installing any non-genuine OS, so I did disable that. My laptop is working fine, but all of a sudden it started to do random mouse freezes, surprisingly pressing ALT+F4 works like a charm to make mouse work again (by mouse I mean pointer actually, I'm using Touchpad, i don't think its a h/w related issue)I think may be it's because any virus/malware or whatever that was, and also I was planning to change my OS to Windows 8 (it's after 10-11 month of purchase date), so I decided to format anyway, instead messing up with mouse freeze problem.
    Now strange thing happen at this point -I'm not able to start my BIOS setup, nor able to use quick boot option (to select various bootable device option from list)I try to press recovery key (small button near power button), that open recovery module properly (no glitch/error).
    but unfortunately I don't have any backup made previously so no use of recovery module.and then I restart my laptop, then I press F2, it shows the first screen of BIOS menu, but my system stuck there (unresponsive state), i've no option else directly turning it off by holding power key for few seconds,..and then no boot menu F2, F12 still unresponsive.means whenever i open recovery module it able to open F2 menu (not F12) but that stuck too.
    else it just completely ignore F2, F12I'm not a computer noob (not flaunting), but I spend last 4-5 hours looking for a solution for it, but couldn't find any solution by myself.
    although my laptop is not in not working state. somehow I manage to install windows 8, but it's really weird that I can not access BIOS menu, my laptop is no longer in warranty period so I can experiment with it any way I want.

    I’m sorry to hear that G580 is not entering the BIOS menu and hanging at BIOS menu it at all it enters it, performing flee power should resolve the issue; below are is the step to perform Flee Power.
    Remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer. Hold the power button for 10 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and try to turn ON the computer and enter BIOS menu.
    If the issue persists even after performing Flee Power, I would Strongly Suggest Calling Technical Support for Assistance this is the only available option to get this query resolved, Click here to open a link where you can select the country and get the exact contact support number, I’m sure they will be a great help.

  • Lenovo G580 Screen becoming blurred sometimes

    Hi Team,
    I've bought a Lenovo G580 laptop this Saurday, 23rd March, 2013. On the second day, when I switched on the laptop the desktop screen had lines like cracks and the icons are not clear. The screen is displayed like blurred out and will be displayed with light blue dots. After some 10 to 15 mins, this will be clear and will be displayed clearly.
    Can anyone pls help me on fixing this issue.

    I’d like to ask you about the lines that appear up on the screen are they even during the boot process?
    And I’d like to ask you to connect external monitor during the boot process to check if the same lines appears on the external monitor?

  • Unable to get the complete drive space in lenovo g580

    HI All,
    I have new lenovo g580 laptop with DOS operating system. In that i had installed the windowns 7 ultimate. After instalation i had one issue with hard drive partition. 
    Issue:  I am able to get the drive space around 420 GB, reming space it is showing as unallocated space. I am unable to patition that space.
    Please suggest me to partition and to use that as general.

    thanks for posting and welcome to the community. To do this please go to the
    Start button > Highlight "Computer" and Right click > Select Manage. (Please see illustration below)
    Once done a new window should have opened up. (Please see illustration below)
    From here you should be able to see the unpartitioned block. Select the unpartioned block, right click and select "Make partion active". Be sure to assign a proper drive letter aswell.
