Lenovo G780 not working after BIOS update

First of all I want to say that I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had with my Lenovo. After I bought it I found out that Lenovo, for some reason, disabled the Turbo Boost option of the CPU. I tried to fix it by entering the BIOS but the options there were limited, so I decided to update the BIOS. I downloaded the BIOS update for 64-bit windows(i am running windows 8 which is compatible with the said update utillity). I ran the .exe and followed all the instructions (did not shut-down restart or anything my computer). After installing it automatically restarted and a Lenovo logo prompted on the screen followed by ">>Start PXE over IPv6, Press [ESC] to EXIT..." after that "EFI Network 0 for IPv6(numbers and letters) boot failed". Then ">>Start PXE over IPv4" which failed and a blue box poped saying
"Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed. Insert Recovery Media and Hit any ket then select boot manager to choose a new boot device or to boot recovery media". Pressed ok and got me to Boot Manager screen. Boot option Menu had only EFI Network 0 for IPv6 and EFI Network 0 for IPv4". What should I do?
Note that I tried to start up both with and without the ethernet cable in.

I also (stupidly) updated to this new BIOS version and ran into the problems you described. I did what Lenovo recommended but nothing worked. But this how I solved my problem:
Enter the BIOS by pressing F2 just after booting up the computer.
When inside BIOS go to Boot and chang the following settings: Boot Mode [Legacy Support] AND Boot Priority [Legacy first].
Save and Exit and your computer should start.
Whence inside check if windows is activitated and check if the new BIOS is registered.
PS: I have scandivian G780 with an i3. Pls responds if this helps

Usually the BIOS update shouldn't have any bad influence on the Toshiba drivers and the OS performance.
There must be another reason for the FN key malfunction.
At first I would suggest to reinstall the common modules. Please check if it will help.

Sleep and Hibernate does not work after BIOS update X1 Carbon 20A8

As subject title, did a recent Lenovo "System Update" on BIOS and other drivers, and since then sleep and hibernate no longer works, when i close the lid, it turns on by itself after 2 seconds.
When i select Sleep or Hibernate in Windows 8.1 with lid open, it just behaves like a Restart command.
Need this fixed! Any ideas?

Try downgrading to your older BIOS and see if it works again.

Qosmio X305-708 - Solved: Media Buttons not working after BIOS update

I had this problem so I thought I would share in case anyone else encountered the same problem.
Basically after installing BIOS 1.70 (in Windows 7 64bit) on my Qosmio X305-708, the media buttons remains on partially, as in they were dim, and they didn't work at all. The light even remained on when the computer was off (strangely only when plugged in). To solve this problem I reinstalled the BIOS through a boot disk (USB key), since then its been fine. Must of been a corrupt install I suppose.

LMic Jack not working after Driver Update, Console unavailable, can't install? I've had nothing but problems after downloading the latest updates via the auto-updater.
I'm currently using the Creative SB X-Fi Pro Series card. I've had it for close to 6 months and have not had any issues until I ran the auto-updater last night, and while it downloaded over 250Mb of updates, all of them failed to install as described below.
I'm running on Windows Vista Ultimate, 64-bit
My main issue is the fact that my microphone is no longer working. I've done a lot of searching and I think the problem has to do with flexijack not being a microphone jack, but instead is an 'in-line' jack. I can no longer find my audio control console, which allows me to switch between gaming and entertainment modes, ect. The solution I found on the KB says that you can switch the blue jack on the back of the card from an in-line jack to a mic jack within the Audio console. I tried downloading it, but while going through the install, I get an error saying the files could not be found and a prompt which asks for a disk or file location. The same thing pretty much happens with all of the items I attempted to download and install.
I was able to run console fine, as well as use my mic yesterday before I attempted any updates. I attempted the updates because since I've had the card, I've had issues where after I exit a game, all my sound will become crackly and static. Before, I would simply open up the console and switch back-and-forth from gaming to entertainment, which would fix the problem most of the time. If that didn't work, a restart would fix it, but now I've opened up a whole new set of issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I also want to say that the support tickets should not require a serial number to submit a new ticket. My product is registered, so I got rid of the box which contains all that information, leaving me at the mercy of these boards...

Hello all. Fisrt of all, this are my specs: Yoga 2 pro 13". WiFi card: Intel(R)Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. I bought it from Best Buy on November 27, 2014. If you aquired your Yoga before this date, you may have the single band WiFi card. As many of you have experienced, I also had a bunch of issues with my WiFi connectivity and this is how I was able to solve it. At least it has been a couple of days that I haven't had any issues. The first symptom was the usual connection drops every X amount of time. For me it was about every 2 hours. I first unchecked the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option in the Power Management tab of device manager and disabled U-APSD support in the Advanced tab of device manager. This action did not solve the problem. I then downloaded and updated the driver from the Intel web site (http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect) and this seemed to solve the drops; however, a new problem arised: Everytime my Yoga would wake up from sleeping mode, all my wifi networks were gone and the adapter showed as disabled in Device Manager. I would have to anable it to have my networks back. It was a solution but a pain the butt to have to do this everytime. After hours of reading post after post in several forums, I read a repy from Lenovo asking to try leaving the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" CHECKED if you were using the latest version of the driver. I went back to device manager and checked it back and that seems to have solved the problem. So far I haven't had any drops and everytime my laptop comes back from sleeping mode the WFi connection is still there! Here is a recap of how everything ended up: -The driver version I installed is 17.1.0.19-The driver date is 7/21/2014-In device manager|Advanced, U-APSD support is Disbled.-In device manager|Power Management, "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is checked. Saying: dont work you mean it does not power up or what do you mean exactly?
Did you flash the BIOS properly?
Possibly something went wrong during the update and this means that ROM module isnt flashed properly
In most cases a special BIOS crisis disk would be needed to get it working
Not quite sure if you can get it fixed by your own

Did you always have the same problem or is it new? I always used to be able to get Facebook to work on wifi with no issues for months. I downloaded the new software update for Revolution, and all of a sudden it seems like they blocked the Facebook app somehow unless you're on 4G. It really sux because I can't get into my Zynga games either that are tied to FB! Wish someone at Verizon could be aware of this and fix the problem.
Also, interestingly, when I try to log into the Facebook site with the browser I am directed to an error page. The browser works fine for every other site though. Really seems like there was some kind of block instated that will no longer let you use Facebook on a wifi connection.

I'm having a similar issue. It appears to only impact Hotmail accounts. For me though, this happened without updating the OS. The email client is simply failing to connect to the Hotmail interface. Only two possibilities, either Microsoft changed something on the email gateway or Nokia changed something on their end. Either way, it's not working and has been out of commission for the past week. If this is how corporate friends get along, I'd hate to see what happens in a adversarial relationship.
