Lenovo IdeaCentre A720 E5KT20AUS

I have a Lenovo IdeaCentre A720 with Bios version E5KT20AUS and i want to update it in order to have the UEFI capability selection in the Bios Setup.
Actually the only way to boot UEFI is pressing F12 during the booting process. This is not reliable because you need to press F12 every time the PC restart.
Anyone have a Bios with this feature please share.

uefi is the user interface for the bios if you dont have it now and have the old style bios, you might be stuck with it as i have not came across any bios being changed from old bios to the new uefi
pressing a button is the only way to get into the bios (unless you have overclocking software that boots to bios to make adjustments) and this will not change not matter is you have the uefi or not
you can not just install any bios they are made just for that make and model of motherboard

You shouldn't buy the A720 now...
For two main reasons... A720 doesn't work as it shoud with windows 8. Secondly, Lenovo just anounced A730, with better screen resolution, windows 8 installed. You really should wait for the A730, which will start to ship at June...

Follow this procedure for the installation:
Install Windows 8.1 Pro x64 using the general or personal key
Just to avoid install an old Video Driver from windows update, disable the Wi-Fi or Interned connection
Install Office 2013 x64
Install the Video Driver “340.52-notebook-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql.exe” just let the setup to uncompress the files in “C:\NVIDIA” folder, do not continue to avoid the installation of other software that you may never use. Go to “Device Manager” and Right click properties in the display adapter, press “Driver” - “Update Driver” select browse my computer and give the path “C:\NVIDIA” press next and close after installation finish
Enable Wi-Fi and open Control Panel – Programs – Turn Windows features on or off and select “.NET Framework 3.5” hit OK, after the installation finish, reboot PC
Install “ClassicShellSetup_4_1_0.exe” follow instruction and configure the way you may like
Run file “h1101061.exe”, unselect “Install Realtek Card Reader Driver” and press finish. Path for driver is "C:\EXEBuild\Realtek Card Reader Driver”. Normally a successful installation of this file depend of “.NET framework 3.5”
Go to control panel and uninstall “Lenovo OSD”, run the previous “setup.exe” and during the process of the installation, be ready to make a copy for the temporal file name “setup.msi” created in  “C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp”, copy file “setup.msi” in “C:\” and run CMD in administrator mode and go to “C:\” using “CD \ + ENTER”, now use the following command “C:\msiexec.exe /a c:\setup.msi + Enter” the folder “C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\Lenovo BrgVolOSD” with this two files “BrgVolOSD.exe” and “CD_DLL.dll” will be created
Create a shortcut “BrgVolOSD” and copy this in the startup folder “C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp”
Update Bluetooth driver using windows update if Windows detect the dongle, if not go to next step
If Bluetooth is not detected, mean that the actual hardware somehow is disabled. In order to enable, boot the PC with a Windows 7 live DVD with the USB drive installed in the PC. After PC been running with Windows 7 live, Install the file “h1100174.exe” previously copy in the USB drive. Use the USB drive also as installation path for the Bluetooth software, when the installation is done, look in the folder “X:\Program Files\Lenovo\Bluetooth Software” and run the file name “BTTray.exe”, press right click in the Red Bluetooth icon on the taskbar to enabled the Bluetooth dongle. Reboot PC in Windows 8.1 without any DVD media inside, this time Windows 8.1 will be able to recognize the Bluetooth and install the respective drivers.
     Another way, install the latest release from Broadcom BTW_12.0.0.9820 from the following link:

    directly in Windows 8.1. Remember if the software is uninstall the Bluetooth will be disabled and
     Windows will not be able to see the device in the “Device Manager”
Last step, use your own Windows 8.1 Pro Key and Office 2013 key to register and activated your legal copy of the Microsoft software’s.

IdeaCentre A720 Mauszeiger Wandert nach Links und Klickt Programme...

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren.Habe einen Lenovo IdeaCentre A720 und habe seit einiger Zeit das Problem, das die Maus Plötzlich nach Links an den Bildschirmrand Wandert, Ansicht vom IE vergrößert, Dateien anklickt. Dabei Auffällig, immer geht der Mauszeiger nach ganz Links. Das selbe Passiert auch, wenn die Maus Ausgeschaltet ist und sogar der Empfänger nicht angeschlossen ist der Maus. Auf dem PC sind keine Fremde Programme. Auch ist der PC Virenfrei Incl. dem Bios. Auch Installation der neusten Treiber bringt keine Besserung. Im übrigen ist auf dem PC Windows 7 mit 64 bit und auf dem neusten stand mit den Updates. Nun die frage an Sie. Woran kann das liegen? Haben diesen Rechner Identisch nochmals und da gibt es keine Probleme. Meine Verlobte (PC technisch sehr gut bestückt) weiß nun auch nicht mehr weiter. Dabei ist zu beachten, das es uns darum geht, den PC nicht nochmals völlig neu machen zu müssen, also Plat machen und alles von vorne. Von Anfang an hatte der Rechner Probleme. Bei Saturn in Berlin am, Alexanderplatz gekauft und da war er schon vom vorherigen Besitzer zur Reparatur gebracht worden. Ich hatte den auch schon mehrmals zur Reparatur wegen dem nicht Umschalten können am Bildschirm auf HDMI Eingang (Problemlösung: PC runter fahren, vom Netzstecker trennen und dann wieder einstecken und Starten. So hat es bei mir geholfen bisher, wenn das Problem wieder Auftaucht ist. Also keine Dauerlösung).Ich Bitte um Hilfe. Vielen Dank.
Diebaer Ps.: Ihre Supportseite zum Gerät ist leider nicht Aktuell, wenn man das Jahr liest von 2013 für alle angegeben Treiber für Windows 7. Auch ein Biosupdate ist von Ihrer Seite nicht vorhanden. Sehr Traurig, den jeder andere Hersteller lässt das Bios Updaten, nur Sie nicht und dafür ein Haufen Geld bezahlt.Ps.: Schade, das man nur hier schreiben kann. Den Support per E-Mail anschreiben bringt ja nichts, da keine Bearbeitungsnummer gesendet wird und somit keinen Eingang bestätigt wird. Nur die Kopie der Anfrage wird gesendet auf mein Postfach.

So Männers und Frauen. Meine Gedult ist zu Ende. Die Ausrede: "Unser Technikertaem kann den Fehler nicht nachvollziehen" hat jetzt ein Ende. Selbst jetzt Funktioniert der Trick nicht mit der neuen Kalibrierung. Batterien sind voll. Immer wieder die selben Ausreden, aber Egal, was es für ein Problem ist. Warum macht Ihr für Teurer Geld gekaufte Produkte, keinen Service??? Ausreden, das Fehler nicht Nachvollziehbar sind. Es sind genüpgend Fehler von unseren beiden Idetischen PC´s Systemen hier gemeldet. Andere User das selbe Problem mit selben Problem und selben System. Oder Ähnliche Fehler mit fast Identischen Systemen. Was soll diese **bleep**e??? Jetzt geht es zum TV (verschiedene Sender) und zum Gericht. Punkt. Es Reicht!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damit habt Ihr mal wieder bewiesen, was Ihr wollt: Null Service und nur Überteuert Kassieren. Mehr ist nicht drin!!!! Aber da Reicht Ihr euch ein, von allen Herstellern. EU Klage ist euch damit Sicher. **bleep** Kapitalismus. Ach so, kommt jetzt nicht mit einer Teuren Hotline an, diese Abzocke ist bekannt. Ihr könnt euch sehr gerne per E-Mail (hier bekannt) bei mir melden, aber nur in Deutsch, den ich kann weder Englisch noch möchte ich das. IdeaCentre A720 Screen Problem

I purchased IdeaCentre A720 last Octorber.
I didn't open it since I purchased it.
Yester, Finally I opened it and set it up.
Looks great and nice.
However, screen looks too blue. So I was trying to calibrate monitor.
Still I have same problem.
How can I fix it? I think my refurnished warranty is already expired.
Should I call to customer service?
One more question, where can I find serial number?

Welcome to the Forums.
Just to verify, is the machine already showing signs of bluish color during bootup?
If the bluish color appears during bootup then there might be a problem with an internal component (could be the converter board, display connector or the screen itself). In this case, if the machine was refurbished by Lenovo (e.g. A refurb unit sold at a Lenovo outlet or a reseller like Bestbuy) then you need to contact Lenovo and report the issue.
For the warranty, IIRC, refurbished units have 1yr warranty.
For the serial number, this can be found in the BIOS, in the box (there should be a white sticker that shows the Lenovo model, type, serial number, etc.), or by typing wmic bios get serialnumber on a command prompt.

Lenovo IdeaCentre B520 - Plug in a Vhs and record my old vhs tapes!

Besides of all i want to thank you for the time you gonna lose to read this post.
I bought a lenovo ideacentre B520 and i want to record my old vhs tapes.
I plug in the VHS into the AV in ports (yellow, red and white) and then i switch in the monitor to the av mode.
I can see the vhs tape in my computer but the problem is that i cant control the pc mode. I'd like to know how can i record the vhs tape in Av mode.

You'd need to tell us what kind of film and cameras you have. I think you'll need to buy some equipment to do that.
An alternative is to send your film to a place like Integrated Imaging and they could transfer it to DVD or another suitable format for iMovie.

Ubuntu 14.04 install on Lenovo IdeaCentre Q190 replacing Windows 8.1

I just purchased a Lenovo IdeaCentre Q190 and would like to replace Windows 8.1 with Ubuntu 14.04. As this is a secure boot machine, is there anything I need to watch out for besides disabling secure boot? I seem to remember that there is a boot partition that I need to leave alone (?) Is there a Lenovo tool installed that can save a copy of the drive as an image? I have already saved a copy of the system to a USB stick. There seem to be some issues in connection with installing Ubuntu 14.04 (booting, wifi, bluetooth) is there an overview of the install issues for the Q190 somewhere?
Any advice appreciated.

If you are looking to entirely replace Windows on your drive, you can overwrite the entire drive, boot partition and all...
BUT...
Since you seem to want to preserve your Windows installation, you can make your life a lot easier in the long-run by simply getting another hard disk drive and swapping it out for the one which you currently have installed. (If I understand correctly, the Q190 only supports one HDD at a time)
Then you can install Ubuntu on the empty drive and not have to worry about writing a massive .iso,
testing a massive .iso and at some point in the future trying to re-install a massive .iso.

On page 31 it explains the BIOS options. Doing a UEFI Linux install is still quite unintuitive, though there are a few threads and video tutorials out there. If you're planning on using Linux, right now I would suggest good old legacy style.
An overview of Ubuntu install issues is a pretty tall order for any machine. External wifi and bluetooth dongles are generally a problem, though the problems are often remedied after finishing all of the recommended updates.
I could add more advice, but it will help if I know more about what you want from your machine.

PS3 (playstation3) does not connect to Lenovo Ideacentre D400 Windows Home Server

I just got the Lenovo Ideacentre D400 Windows Home Server this week. After getting it setup, my computer connected to it fine and I transferred my files over (photos, music, videos).
It was time to test out the media sharing. Alas try as I might I was not able to get the PS3 (Playstation 3) to connect or even find the D400. Any thoughts ?
I searched the net and forums where i can usually find answers but found no mention of this device which I guess is not suprising since it is new. Let me know if anyone else has this and if they have any issues

I bought it in 2012
New Graphics Card: EVGA Geforce GTX 960
New Power Supply: Corsair CX 430
Issue:
I plugged in my graphics card to my new power supply.
I get the Lenovo splash screen, then 3 beeps, then a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left.
If I disconnect the graphics card, and just use the VGA connection, everything works fine.
How do I get my new graphics card to work on this PC?

If you boot in to BIOS with F1 while powering ON the computerCheck if you system supports UEFI.
UEFI/ BIOS should have a Uefi option under Boot tab or start up tab Try to set those to Legacy
If non then this is a legacy BIOS already.
also im thinking about Compatibility issues with this card, since this is not listed under the Maintenance Manual as replacement Parts.

because the cpus in the 320 aren't second generation i3-i7, identified by a 2 at the start of the cpu number.
Intel offer this method for you to check your system yourself.

Lenovo IdeaCentre K330B Dual Monitor Possible?

I was wondering if there was a way to have a dual monitor setup with the Lenovo IdeaCentre K330B. We have the Lenovo IdeaCentre K330B 7747 and this is for an office application so no gaming. The MTM is 77471CU. I cant seem to figure out what type of card is in there. Will I need to install a new graphics card? If so, what card would work?

Ok I got this figured out. There is a HDMI out and I couldn't see it because 1. it isdark under the desk and I couldn't move the computer well and 2. I am obviously blind as a bat and didn't see the HDMI out.
So yes this computer is dual monitor capable

also in deinem K450 ist ein Realtek RTL8188E WLAN-Modul verbaut. Auf der Downloadseite ist dummerweise nur der Treiber für Win 8.1 hinterlegt. Ich vermute, hier wurde angenommen, dass unter Win 7 der inboxed Treiber verwendet werden kann. Laut deiner Erfahrung wird das Modul aber nicht automatisch von Windows installiert.
Bitte teste ob sich einer dieser Treiber installieren lässt:

NO SOUND Lenovo IdeaCentre K Series

Hi,
I've just bought a Lenovo IdeaCentre and although the sound card indicates its working properly, I get no sound from the PC. Am I just stupid - do I need actual speakers as well? I've tried listening through earphones, but there's STILL no sound and all of the volume buttons are turned up. PLEASE can someone help me or tell me what to do? I would've thought the chap who sold me the PC would've mentioned that I needed separate speakers, if this is the case.

try this procedure may be you can confirm whethger your system indeed has no sound or not
got to run
type "dxdiag.exe"
let it check for all sound and video drivers in your system
in the music tab click the "test diect music" you must be able to hear some music if you dont hear any you have got a problem
try re-installing your audio drivers and restart the system
