Lenovo IdeaPad U310 Intel Rapid Start Technology with WIndows 7 Ultimate

Hello,
I have upgraded my Windows 7 Home Premium to Ultimate. Got it in my domain and everything seems normal . But I wanted to check the options of that energy saving settings and can't find any information about, when does my computer go to hibernate. He does use the stand by, but for how long? Until the battery is low? That makes no sense.
The computer must go in hibernate or is this with ultrabooks going other ways?

Hi
I have further investigated  and  found a solution for hibernation
In order to enable hibernate in Lenovo Machines SSD support models, you will need to restart and Enter into the BIOS Setting
1. Press Fn+ F2 to enter BIOS
2. Choose "Configuration > SATA controller working mode" as "RAID";
3. Select "Configuration>Intel Rapid Start Technology", choose " iRST Support"  and "Entry on S3 critical battery event" as "Disable";
. It will then automatically return to an available Windows power options setting. However, iRST (Intel Rapid Start Technology) does not have the ability to wake a system from hibernate.
Now restart the system and you will find hibernation option is enabled under power option
Hope This Helps
Cheers!!!

  • How to use Intel Rapid Start technology on my ThinkPad Edge 531 computer?

I have a Thinkpad Edge 531 (model 6885-73G) preloaded with Windows 7 64bit. According to the appropriate user guide (see Thinkpad E531 User Guide - page 108) and chipset specifications Mobile Intel® HM77 Express this ThinkPad model supports Intel Rapid Start Technology with a special partition on the SSD M.2.Such an SSD with the specification M.2 (see MyDigitalSSD Super Cache 2) I bought it and installed successfully on my ThinkPad, which can run a cache software FNet HybriDisk on.
However, even if I proceed exactly according to the installation script by Intel, see (Intel Rapid Start Technology User Guide) or by the installation script by Lenovo community, (see Edge E330 and Intel Rapid Start), I can not put into operation Intel Rapid Start Technology on my ThinkPad, although I use the installed SSD disk with an alone partition of appropriate type (with ID type 84 on MBR) with more allocated space than the size of RAM for my ThinkPad and with the currently deployed version of BIOS (1.29) and current drivers, such is Intel (R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver version 11.1.5.1001 downloaded from the webiste of Lenovo support for this model ThinkPad Edge 531.
Since, in my opinion, based on the above specifications declared by the manufacturer Lenovo and Intel, this ThinkPad model should support Intel Rapid Start Technology, I would like therefore to know how this technology on my ThinkPad to put into operation, because of which I also bought this ThinkPad model. Does exist for this model ThinkPad Edge 531 some specific deployment scenario of Intel Rapid Start Technology? Does anyone have any practical experience with the launch of this technology on those ThinkPad models? Can it be expected that the full support of Intel Rapid Start Technology for the ThinkPad Edge 531 will occur after the release of a new version of the BIOS or a new version of Solid State Drive Firmware Update Utility with support for MyDigitalSSD Super Cache 2 published on the website of Lenovo support?
Thanks in advance for any advice and guidance with the launch of Intel Rapid Start Technology on my ThinkPad Edge 531.

    Hi @nmulji ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY TouchSmart 15t-j000 Notebook and issues with Raid technology. Here is a link that helps with the driver for your Notebook.
You might need this update for software and drivers with the Intel Management Engine Interface.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system at the time of purchase. If something is not updated this could be causing an issue.
Please let me know how this goes.

  • Intel Rapid Start Technology - Error Message upon start-up

I have a fairly new Lenovo U310 that has been nothing but problems since I purchased it. Recently, it has been taking a long time to start up and when it finally hits the desktop, an error message pops up that says "Your system does not appear to have Intel Rapid Start Technology enabled." I hit 'OK' but there's not apparent way to fix this problem. I've tried downloading the IRST drivers from Intel, but trying to install them give me the error message saying that my system can't support the item. Help?

I'm afraid I don't know the layout of the BIOS options on Ideapads, only on Thinkpads - with the latter it is on something like the third screen of options and it is clearly labelled as Intel RapidStart.

1.i didn't see a "Intel rapid start" in the bios
    2. I've update my bios
    3. When I've try reinstall the driver I got this error "this computer does not meet the min requirements for installing the software"
    I need help.

    hi O_hei,
If you're running on the 66cn52ww BIOS or above, I'm afraid the BIOS is limitting you from enabling the Intel Rapid Start Technology feature.  For now, try to  uninstall the Intel Rapid Start Technology under Control Panel (large icon view) > Programs and Features to get rid of the "Your system does not appear to have Intel rapid start technology enable" error on startup.
Upon checking, the Yoga 13 here in the lab runs on the 66cn51ww BIOS and has the Intel Rapid Start Technology feature.
    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
I recommend you visit the lenovo website once an updated BIOS is released that enable this feature.
    Best regards,

  • U410 Intel Rapid Start Technology Driver - failure

For about the last two weeks (for some unknown reason) Intel Rapid Start Technology is unable to start on my U410 Laptop.  I attempted to reinstall the driver from the Lenovo page, but when I get to the install point I get a message stating my device does not meet the minimum specifications for this technology!
It's making start ups and logging on a major drag
Has anyone experienced this before?  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Rory

Never found a way to fix it. Me and my friends are pretty proficient with computers too. Just been shutting down my computer every time I'm done using it. Lenovo said we can send it to them and they'll take a look or replace under warranty

  • Intel Rapid Start Technology does not appear to be installed

How do I get rid of this message?
    It's an HP Envy dv7 Notebook, D0X38EA#ABU
I haven't upgraded any part of the hardware - it's  configured as it came out of the box. It's running Win 8.1
I have looked through the forum and downloaded manuals and it all gets extremely technical very quickly.  So I downloaded a driver from intel and it says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software".
I am just a simple user. I can guess that the Intel thing will make the computer boot faster. That would be nice but I'm not qualified to start faffing around in the BIOS. Nor do I want to be.
Please just tell me how to make the message go away. It's annoying.

  • Attention! Laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 10 is not compatible with Windows 8.1

    Attention!
Laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 10 is not compatible with Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Update (pre-installed operating system is Windows 8.0) .
More specifically, after update for Windows 8.1 all the  drivers (including the latest)  Intel (R) Iris (TM) graphics, Intel (R) Iris (TM) Pro graphics and Intel (R) HD GRAPHICS  installed on this laptop  does not support out of the sleep mode.
This has been checked many times by different users laptop Flex 10.
Any comments from Lenovo are absent. By Lenovo specifications for this notebook there are no conflicts with Windows 8.1. It is not true!
It is unclear why Lenovo has admitted this deficiency.
I think Lenovo Flex 10 is a mistake that will cost the company Lenovo.

    Mine came with Windows 8.1

  • Your system does not appear to have intel rapid start technology

I have a Lenovo U310 with windows 8 and wish I could take it back. Problem after problem with this computer, both hardware and software related. I started getting this message about the Intel rapid start a couple of days ago. I went into this forum and one of the specilists suggested going into BIOS and change the SATA controller working mode to RAID and to enable IRST which I did. Now the computer can not start. It tries to load and it says that the recovery system failed. I can get to the BIOS menu again but I wont let me get to configuration screen. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks

    hi yzarate,
I'm sorry to hear what happened,
If the system is giving you a failed to start Option,  Restarting it May sometime give you option Like Safe mode,
If you're getting that, select that option and it should be able to start you system while in RAID then restart the system again once booted back up.
If you're not getting that message I would suggest go back to BIOS
go to the Exit TAB, Select Load optimized default or press F9 to load defaults, F10 to save and Exit and hit enter,
Try loading BIOS again and see if the configuration tab will be available,
    Best Regards

  • Y410p Cannot install Intel Rapid Start Technology

Hi Guys, I have a Y410p and I have replaced the HDD with a SSD on windows 8. Before changed to SSD, i did not try to install the intel rapid start and thus I never know if it could work before. I re-install Windows 8 on the SSD and also installed Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver. When I install the Intel Rapid Start, I got this error: "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software" I have checked the BIOS, I cannot see any relevant settings and I just make sure AHCI enabled. I have done the parition (on the GPT) using the set ID = D3BFE2DE-3DAF-11DF-BA40-E3A556D89593 I have followed this guide (UEFI)http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/rapid_start_technology_user_guide_for_uefi1.pdf Is it Y410P cannot have the Intel Rapid Start installed because of the chipset or the BIOS? Do I miss anything? Please help. Thanks in advance.

  • Issues with Intel Rapid Start in Lenovo U310

I have a lenovo U310 with 500 GB HDD and 24 GB SSD. Both drive are working fine. However, when I boot my computer and reach to the desktop, I receive the error saying Intel Rapid Start Technology is not enabled. When I checked the BIOS, the Partition type for iRST appears to be INVALID. Also, I tried to download and install the driver for iRST from the Lenovo website. It installed properly, but at the end it said install the driver and finish. When I hit the finish button, I received the error saying the minimum requirements are not met.
So, I have 24 GB SSD installed. But why am I getting the error and how to fix it?
Help will be very much appreciated

The B85 supports Intel Rapid Start Technology, see one of the user guides on intel site, but it needs BIOS support.
The B85M gaming don't have it on specs page but looking at it's manual it has rapid start settings in BIOS.

  • (Re)activate Intel Rapid start technolgy (RST) & RAID @U310

    Dear community,
I have been frustrated about this for long time. Got U310 with win8(24GB SSD+500GB HDD).
People says I should set RAID in BIOS. But I got only error and cannot do recovery. So I set back to ACHI mode and system restored. Then error: "Your system does not apear to have Intel Rapid Start technology enabled".
    - Yes, I have tried to set BIOS ACHI to RAID, no start.
    - SSD 24GB is in device manager, not paritioned.
    - intel RAID software installed
    - So the point is: I have to activate in BIOS ACHI to RAID, but then Pc will not start.
       So whats is the problem?
Now the partitions looks as this:
Could anyone help me, how to reactivate the RAID/ fast caching technolgy of RST?
Another frustration is: how to backup my system(win8) to USB media, so that I could restore factory state?
appreciate any advices, thanks in advance!

    Hi,  bradlutz1
thanks for your reply! How do you identify it is defective?  You have now a RAID enabled U310 or U410?
My SSD HD can be manually partitioned and use as a normal R/W HDD. Just it cannot set to RAID I think, which should be set to before install windows 8. checking into BIOS, the Intel Rapid Storage technolgy (iRST) is enabled. But I still have problem( see screenshot): How does it look like for yours?
On the other side, I use windows 8 recovery programm created a USB drive as recovery media. I want to use it to reset /recovery my PC to factory default with RAID eanbale.
First I set BOIS to RAID. Boot from HDD, but still failed, it says (I think AHCI could go thru):
Seeing from the partition picture in my first post, I think the last 20G partition is Lenovo recovery, but how to backup it and restore?
Very annoying also, the Lenovo program OneKey Recovery program 8.0(for win8) gives no option to create factory DVD/USB media, while its ver. 7 did:

  • Intel Rapid Start on Ideapad Yoga 13

Hi and thanks for reading my message:
i have a problem with the Intel Rapid Start Technology on my Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13:
The IRST is not automatically starting after Boot. The "Intel Rapid Start Technology Service" Service is installed and set to automatic start and it's running without problems but the IRST Manager is still not running (cant's see it in the system tray of the WIndows 8 Desktop Mode). When i run it manually by calling the "Intel Rapid Start Technology Manager" (configuration window pops up), it works fine.
What i try to achieve: because IRST is almost as fast as sleep mode, i would like to use it always instead of sleep mode, so i have set the Timer in the ISRT manager to enable and 0 Minutes. So with the IRST running in the background, it is working to go to IRST Hibernate directly after sleep mode. But when i restart my Yoga, its not working any more
    What i tried to do:
    Install the IRST 1000 times
Re-Create the hibernate partition (using this manual) (id=D3BFE2DE-3DAF-11DF-BA40-E3A556D89593)
Check ISRT is enabled in BIOS
Do you have any other idea what to do?
Thank you very much for your help and best regards!
    Manuel

That limited thing has started happening to me as of a couple days ago too.  No wifi issues before that.

  • Lenovo S400 error in installing Rapid start technology

I recently installed windows 8 on my laptop all drivers were installed perfectly except Intel Rapid Start Technology, on installing it is showing that your system doesn't meet the minimum requirement. Also the action center is showing install driver for power management and card reader which I have already installed but still it is continuously showing this message.

    hi madhurgandhi,
    Welcome to the Forums.
Installing the Intel Rapid Start Technology requires an Intel Rapid Start feature in the BIOS. Upon looking, this is not included in the S400's BIOS so this software will not work.
As for the power management and card reader notifications, are these the drivers that you installed?
    Realtek Card Reader Driver
    Version: 6.2.9200.39044
    Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit)
    Lenovo Energy Management
    Version: 8.0.2.3
    Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit)
AFAIK, If the card reader and the energy management softwares are both instaled and working without any errors, you should be fine.
