Lenovo IdeaPad Z710 Win 8.1 - Freezes und eine neverending Story...
Hallo Community, bin noch relativ neu hier und habe vor ca. 4 Monaten das o.g. Notebook erstanden.Seit ca. drei Monaten gibts permanent Probleme mit Freezes beim Startup. Meistens erscheint der Freeze nach der Anmeldung, gerne auch mal mittendrin, sodass es während der Anmeldung schon zum Freeze kommt. Nach einem Neustart passiert erstmal gar nix... lädt und lädt, irgendwann gehts dann. Das Problem taucht ca. alle 2 - 3 Wochen auf und gerne muss ich das Notebook mehrfach komplett vom Strom trennen und auf gut Glück neustarten. Was hab ich bisher unternommen?Energy Management neu heruntergeladen, anschließend auch Hardware-Scan (Langzeit) ausgeführt - dieser verlief ohne Probleme Laufwerksreparatur (was am Anfang vor dem Booten von Windows kommt, ist ebenfalls durchgelaufen.. hat länger gedauert, jedoch wurden keine Probleme festgestellt. Bevor ich mich an den Support wende, möchte ich daher mal anfragen, ob jemand von Euch noch eine Idee hat, was hier schlussendlich die Ursache ist? Treiber sind übrigens alle vorhanden, im Geräte-Manager habe ich keine Probleme feststellen können. Danke Euch und viele Grüße Marko50
hab ich durchgeführt. Was dabei aufgefallen ist, dass dieser ca. 3 Stunden bei 10% hängenblieb, dann aber mit nem reboot durchlief und 100%.. anbei das Log - wurde übrigens auch als Admin ausgeführt. Dateisystem auf C: wird überprüft.
Der Typ des Dateisystems ist NTFS.
Die Volumebezeichnung lautet Windows8_OS.

Lenovo IdeaPad Z710 GPU problem
Hi to evreyone! So recently I bought a brand new Lenovo Z710 (i7-4700mq, intel hd 4600 and nvidia gt745m). I then installed windows 8.1 (genuine) and all the drivers on the cd that came with the machine. But it seems there is a big problem with the graphics card. Nvidia gt745 seems like its not there. The Geforce Experience and nvidia control panel fail to recognize it, although it's there on Windows Driver Manager.When I try to load a game (WOW) it crashes on the loading screen. "Display driver has stopped responding..." bubble appears and a minute or so afterwards, there is a bsod. The game works on the integrated card (intel hd 4600) when nvidia is disabled or its driver is uninstalled.
I tried reinstalling the drivers, downloading and installing the recent ones, removing all graphic drivers and reintalling them in different order, tried safe mode, changed some bios settings, but still nothing happened.Could this be any kind of driver compatibility issue or simply a windows thing, or is it a hardware problem? Could the nvidia be faulty or the laptop itself? I want to try anything before turning it back to where I bought it for a look... So your ideas will be vastly appreciated. Thanks!Hi! Thanks for the reply! I've managed to solve it, after playing with the drivers for around 2-3 days. There was some kind of incompatibility between the integrated gpu driver (intel hd) and nvidia. I gave up to this thread, because there was no movement. What I did and worked is the following procedure: I completely wiped out every gpu driver, then installed the newest nvidia driver (careful, only the driver, and via Windows driver manager, not the nvidia's .exe installer). After that, I installed the intel hd driver (this time the full .exe installer) and then, I used the nvidia installer to install all its other components (you cannot use the nvidia's .exe installer without the integrated driver already installed). I hope these make sense, but that's how I fixed it. Anyway, I don't know what kind your problem is exactly (Is your laptop new? Have you upgraded or changed any driver recently? Can you play any other games?) but mine had nothing to do with WoW. Whatever settings I used, the result was always a crash. Now everything is ok and the game runs smoothly. It felt like Windows knew that there was a dedicated gpu, but couldn't access it.

This is absurb.....Why would Best Buy even represent a company that deals this way?

Sometimes learning all the features and programs on a new computer can be intimidating and you may need help. I know I’ve run into this roadblock before and it definitely can ruin some of the excitement of a new purchase.
With that being said, most manufacturers will not offer in-depth instructions on the programs they’ve created without charging for it. However, many times you can find tutorials online that may help you get the most out of that program or at least get you going in the right direction. My recommendation would be to search out the name of this program on your favorite search engine and see what you can find.
Hopefully you can find something that will help you get the most out of this program and computer.

Grafikhardware Problem Ideapad Z710
Hallo liebe Leute,
ich hab leider keinen Plan ob ich das hier richtig poste, aber ich hab seit zwei Wochen ein Problem mit meinem Lenovo Ideapad Z710. Die unten angezeigte Fehlermeldung ist zum erstenmal aufgetreten aber so eine ähnliche kam aber in den letzten zwei Wochen schön öfter, darin stand das: "Grafikhardware wurde für die Anwendung Adobe Plu Flash Player blockiert. Dies ist aber nur beim gebrauch von Youtube und Facebook aufgetreten. Danach konnte man die Anwendung nur mehr schliesen und es funktionierte nichts mehr.
Bitte um Lösungen.Hallo David4,

Ideapad z710 wifi drivers isues
Hi guys, i just installed Arch on my brand new Lenovo ideapad Z710 yesterday. Today i decided to install NetworkManager (i was using a netctl profile until now) the problem is that when i try to connect to wifi, Network Manager keeps prompting me for the password and never actually connects, i think the problem is with my wireless drivers, cause when i plugged in a wifi adaptor other than the laptop's built in one everything worked like a charm and ethernet also works fine.

When I switched to console, I noticed that tty4 is not possible to be accessed. In Midnight Commander (it's a small prog, like Norton Commander, for the terminal) F4 will call the nano-editor, this does not work. It's a bios bug, I think the scan code can be remapped.
Bumblebee is for using the Intel-graphics and the Nvidia-graphics, my Z710 has got Optimus. On Bodhi this works, but after reboot the bumblebee daemon have to be started by root in a terminal. Surely a modul problem, could be solved by blacklisting some modules.
Secured Boot is an option for the UEFI-system (booting) which only allows certified bootloader to be booted. A few distros could handle this by using "shim".
I will go with KALI-Linux (debian based), because of the newer kernel, 3.12.x instad of 3.8.x.

Apparently there is no support for sli on mobile nvidia gpu. Thank you ever so much Nvidia, you willf orever hold a special place in my heart..
I've miracously gotten everything else to work. Only thing left is enabling sli, which I haven't been able to.

In the end, all that I can learn from this is that stuff don't work, not why or how to fix it. A bit annoying to be blunt.
I've been googling around for answers, but the closest thing I've come to an answer, and I do hope it isn't true, is that sli om mobile nvidia gpu is not supported under linux. I've been unable to confirm this.

If you want help, start providing relevant information beyond "it don't work". You say you followed the instructions ... which instructions? What steps did you take? It is clear from your xorg.conf that you did not follow the only instructions I could find in the archlinux wiki. Follow those instructions, and post the output of the relevant diagnostic or information-gathering steps included there.
Also if you have information which could be useful - such as which mobile devices/cards allegedly don't work - then share that. Don't keep us in the dark.
I should think that it's quite obvious that I've followed the wiki instruction, which basically is one line in xorg, as is the official nvidia instructions.
This is most likely a problem related specificlally to the gt 650m and/or the lenovo ideapad y500 (and perhaps derivatives thereof).
I do not believe I've left any information out.
Of course if I've done something wrong, I apologize and will do my best to avoid it in the future. As for the rest, I'd very much like to know which instructions I did not follow, as I've done all that I can think of and telling me that I haven't is hardly useful. As far as I aware, the wiki instructs you to ad two line in the xorg.conf, which I've done. I will of course read it again, hoping to figure out what I've apparently missed, though I've read it so many times already that I don't expect to learn anything. -

Lenovo IdeaPad U410 - PowerButton Flashing LED
I have removed Battery and CMOS battery to trouble shoot this U410 which often will not POST.
If I plug in the AC power supply I press the power button very briefly it flashes on and off a few times.
Press to turn off then press again and it comes on and stays on, then it WILL POST and I get the expected:
CMOS battery failure
FI to continue, F2 to enter set up…..
F1 and it boots normally into Windows 7 but of course the date and time are way off…..
Can someone tell me what is happeneing when the Power Button LED flashes on and off?? Whatever it is..it is clearing the block to this thing POSTing..will always POST after this...That really doesn't indicate much of anything as there are no light error codes for your model. The light is just an indication that the machine is trying to boot up before shutting down.
You might try stripping all the hardware out of the laptop and then see if the boot up is any different with and without the CMOS battery installed. Remove the hard drive, optical drive, wireless card and bluetooth if it is installed. If you have more than one memory module try them one at a time and in different slots.

Ideapad z710 windows 7 wireless issue
Hello. First of all, I would like to say I love how great the products lenovo puts out there.
Second of all, I am frustrated. I just purchased a Lenovo z710 and dualbooted with Windows 7 since Windows 8 was my primary OS (ew).
So I downloaded all of the drivers necessary for the Windows 7 OS, and all of them work...but my wireless.
I am running the 64bit model of 7. I cannot get the wireless driver to work or "install" Much help would be appreciated!!

Go to Solution.There was a long thread on one of the boards here that was about the exact same issue but on a different laptop.
Turned out the problem was UEFI, but they were doing it with an SSD. In there case UEFI had to be updated.

There are some solutions there that may work for you.
As for the company not caring about any software other than windows 8, if you get right down to it, the system worked perfectly well with the supplied OS, it was your choice to downgrade. Did you check to see if this was possible before purchasing the system? I feel the same way as most of you probably do, I like Windows 7 much more than Windows 8. Windows 8.1 is kind of a median version between the two. If you don't have a touch screen, it still is not fun. But Windows 7 mainstream support ends in January and extended support dies in January 2020. That means after January you will have to pay Microsoft to get help with windows. If you look around you will find that ALL manufacturers have either totally stop selling systems with Windows 7 or are pretty close to it. And I can assure you after January they will stop all sales of Windows 7. At that point if there are not drivers for your devices, chances are pretty good there never will be. Very few OEM's continue writing drivers for operating systems that are in the process of being phased out.

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Just to check, if you boot in Safe Mode, are you able to load Windows? If booting to Safe Mode works, perform a clean boot and observe. This will isolate any possible 3rd party software that might be inteferring with the Windows startup.
If that doesn't work and Windows is hanging up on the loading screen then we're probably looking at a corrupted Windows file or a bad hardware. In this case, you may need to:
1. Reload the system via the OneKey Recovery (note that all ways on the OS partition will be wiped)
2. If reloading Windows doesn't work or the machine freezes up then you're prolly looking at a bad hardware (possibly the HDD).
Let me know how it goes.

Will Tablet case with combined keyboard work on Lenovo Ideapad A1 07

Sorry if anyone has asked before but couldn't find specific.
My wife has recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad A1 07 for its size, a friend who has a small android tablet also recommended to her, to buy a tablet case with combined keyboard with USB connection from amazon. When received the connection obviously doesn't fit, so I started searching around web for an adapter for it, but I’m seeing conflicting info that the ideapad either does/doesn't support USB data transfer connection point, so before buying an adapter what is correct!.
Can anyone throw some light onto whether Lenovo will update the firmware to be able to use USB at any time or has anyone have a work around. Any help and advice to get this keyboard working would be grateful as the tablet is a great little device for her.
GazzatafIf you are patient, go through the reviews of a specific USB keyboard that was suggested as an addition for Lenovo A1 by Amazon: You will see that even though users have tried different cables and adapters, no A1 user has managed to get this working on his tablet.
This issue may be solved by a future upgrade (if any), which will enable the USB OTG feature of the microUSB port of the A1 tablet. Until then, nothing can be done in order to have any USB device identified and working with A1. I really hope that I make a mistake here and that someone will come up with a working soultion for this issue ...
