Lenovo iomega ix2-ng help

Hello.
I have a Lenovo ix2 2TB disk-ng which unfortunately damaged mechanically. I bought a second 1 TB disk compatible with the device (WD10EZEX), but unfortunately after installation and start up bay for a while white LED lights up red and then permanently, web interface does not work.
I read that there was a firmware disc - how can I install the firmware on the new drive, whether you need a service?

Am in the process of contact Lenovo technical support but the problem is because the disk hurt himself approx. 4 weeks ago - mechanically. The disk was tested but were a lot of damage to housing and the drive itself gave no sign of life so I threw it. I recently bought a second disk 1TB WD10EZEX that is compatible with the device but it turned out that the device does not start. Then I learned that the firmware is on the disk (the truth by saying I do not understand why, in this day and age przyoszczędzać so on memory?).
And now the silent support and I have a device to guarantee that I can not use it.

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit Standarteinstellung für den Upload (insbesondere Sichtbarkeit) festzulegen? Die Standarteinstellung für Videouploads von YouTube werden leider nicht angewendet. Auch eine alternative Anwendung könnte mir weiterhelfen, falls jemand eine kennt.
    I have no Idea why this message was posted in the english part of the forum. My question is: ist there a possiblity to make the videos, uploaded to YouTube from the Lenovo Iomega ix2-dl, private instead of public? Also an other application for uploading videos to YouTube from the NAS could be helpfull.

    This is a privacy setting you need to change on the YouTube default settings. Change the default privacy setting to private.

  • Iomega ix2-200 dont work

    Good afternoon, I have iomega ix2-200 yesterday access to the settings menu and did a restore factory, let stay on all night. Today I noticed that the power light was flashing, so I reset the button, the problem persists. After doing a search on the forum and on the Internet made the most varied processes, including those that mention 1- pressed the reset button for 20sec, turned off the power while holding down the button, continued for more 15segs, then reconnected and kept pressed for more 20Secs, waited and the power light was on. I turned on the cable network and despite flashing light network can not have access to the ix2-200, and the router does not appear connected 2-hold down the reset button for 4 seconds 3 -power down and remove de drive 2, boot up with only drive 1 installed, then attempt to acess, power down and install drive 2 , remove drive 1then boot and attempt to acess Would I like to help again put my ix2-200 to function properly, as it was before I do a factory restore.

  • Windows 7 On Lenovo X200. Please Help!

    Hi,
    I need help getting Windows 7 to work properly on my Lenovo X200 laptop. My X200 is dual-booted with Vista and has the Intel X4500. Here's what I need help with, I'll list them in order of importance to me.
    1) Windows are messed up! (See the screenshot below) When I first boot they're alright, but after about 10-15 minutes they turn into a mess. Is this common with the beta? Or just me?
    2) ThinkVantage Pop-Up (Blue Button) & Pop-ups for FN + Fx Buttons don't work
    3) 'PCI Simple Communication Controller' in Device Manager
    4) 'Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus' in Device Manager
    5) 'Ethernet Controller' is listed under 'Safely Remove Hardware' in taskbar... not really important to me, but it would be nice if someone already knew how to get rid of it.

    I'm not really sure how I resolved them... I just tried a bunch of different drivers. First Windows Update, then from the Drivers folder from my Vista Partition, and then straight from the Lenovo website. I have fixed the messed up windows though as well. I used the old Vista driver instead of the WDDM 1.1 Pre-release from Intel. The old Vista one has worked perfectly so far.
    Also, the FN + Fx function stopped working now... so I guess that's still unresolved. My power managment works fine, although I'm not sure how I fixed that either, I'm assuming I just got the driver from my Vista partition.
    Other than that, everything is working great now. But, do you know how I can disable Bluetooth & Wireless Lan without the FN + F5 menu? Like in a quick way, without a million menus, or without the hardware switch?

  • Web Camera doesn't work on my Lenovo G570 laptop, Please Help?

    Well I recently bought a lenovo G570 laptop. The webcam worked fine for the first month. I don't really know when the camera stopped working but it seems that every software that uses a camera can detect the camera but when the video window pops up it is just plain white. I know the reason isn't because of the hot key FN+ESC because it works fine, I can disable and enable the camera. I read many threads with the same problem. I uninstalled and re-installed the drivers and easy capture but it does not solve my problem. Can someone please help?

    As I  understand the camera is not working.
    If the camera is getting activate by Fn+Esc key then it could be driver issue.
    You need to uninstall the camera software and other relates software.
    Update the BIOS and then install the camera drier

  • Lenovo ThinkPad X230 Expresscard Help

    I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X230 (which I love dearly) and have a few question about ports and booting.  I would first like to verify that the port on the left side of the laptop directly above one of the USB ports is indeed an ExpressCard 54.  I have searched the web, but have yet to find a definite answer, and my user manual simply stated "ExpressCard."  Furthermore, I would like to know if it is possible to boot an operating system from said port using an ExpressCard 34 SSD (64GB).  I have the intention of installing openSUSE 12.3 to the potential SSD and be able to boot from it.  I greatly appreciate any help.  I  would post an image of said port, but I am being told the image file is much too large.

    It is Expresscard 54 (5 Gbps max). But it doesn't support booting.

  • Iomega IX2-200 CE dead

    Hi!
    I have a StorCenter IX2-200 Cloud Edition that today was not found on my LAN. No ping, no sound form the harddrives, no light in any of the frontside led's. Nothing. Only the LAN-port led's are blinking when powerchord is connected, blinking like a small burst, every few seconds . Regardless of ethernet cable is connected or not.
    I have tried pressing the pinhole reset, but that does not make it spin up.
    Any ideas?

    If disconnecting and reconnecting the power adapter does not force the unit to turn on, then the power adapter or chassis has failed.  
    If you do try moving the disks to another ix2-200 CE unit, you should follow this guide, Moving disks from one network storage device to another for the best chances of success.

    I have a problem with playing video files with twonky server pre instaled on Iomega EZM. Video files are played correctly but no subtitles are visible. I installed the same server on ma PC and found out that ther reason is not correct tv profile for LG TV. There are two available LG DLNA Player and LG DLNA DMR and both are not working.       Now I would like to update Twonky server with this file, but form manage center ther is no way, and twonky configuration site also not allows any actions of this kind.
    So i think that best way would be to acces system patition by SSH and add this file. How can I do it?
    SSH is active but i can't login as root - don't know pass, and any typical combination of root, admin, administrator etc doesn't work
    I think it would solve problem for many users.

    You log into SSH with your administrator username, and the password has "soho" appended at the beginning. So, if the admin password is "1234", then
    e.g., username: admin  password: soho1234

    i have lenovo 3000 N200 Notebook , my operating system  since yesterday  i have been formated the partition C after Rescue and Recovery didn't help and install a diffrent OS, i didn't delete the lenovo Partition!!
    now i can't access the Rescue and Recovery
    my qustion is -  can i some how restore the factory OS by  Rescue and Recovery??

    The only other option, before calling service and ordering recovery disks, is to try the Rescue and Recovery - Recovery repair diskette. And yes, a floppy drive will be required.

  • Iomega ix2 keeps failing drives

    I have an Iomega StoreCentre ix2 and am now needing to replace its fourth hard drive. (2 HD unit, both are Seagate 2TB drives.)
    Both drives will have required replacing twice now.
    I've had this for less than 2 years and find it hard to believe that drive replacement should need to be this frequent.

    Does this device get a lot of heavy use? The ix2 is more of a consumer level device so if it is heavily used in a business environment that may be understandable.
    However, if you have had it less the 2 years it should still be under warranty. I would recommend contacting tech support directly, like you probably have for drive replacements. They can get a dump file from the NAS and see if it has any hardware issues.

    You do not move Adobe applications, you install them, so get the installation files and install them like you originally did.

    You will also need your serial number to activate the new installation.  If you did not keep a record of it you might be able to find it in your Adobe account online if you registered the program.
    You are allowed to have two installations activated so if you wish to you can keep the software working on the old machine.  If you wish to remove it or disable it, you need to deactivate it (Help -> Deactivate).

  • Lenovo B590 big problem, HELP!!!

    I have big problem with my Lenovo B590 20206 laptop. [windows 7 pro 64 bit installed]
    After turn my laptop to standby mode (manualy or after 1 hour without use laptop) and when I want to wake up laptop all what I see is black screen and I must hold push power button for 5 second to force off.
    BTW when laptop is in standby mode everything looks good, led is blinking and after pushing any button I hear that fan and hard disk is starting but all what i got is black screen, even CTRL + ALT + DEL doesnt work.
    I've tried replace RAM, reinstalled alot of drivers but without success. Windows 7 of course works perfect, only sleep mode (standby] doesnt work.
    Another problem is that i cant update bios, my current is 1.10 which is not recent imho (maybe bios update would help with problem above?). Ive downloaded  BIOS Update Utility for Windows 7 from lenovo site but when i tried to update i ve got a warning like this:
    so i tried to update from Windows 7 and BIOS Update Utility for CD ISO image and i got error "THE SYSTEM PROGRAM FILE IS DAMAGED. THE PROCESS HAS BEEN CANCELED."
    My last question is about disk replacement in that lenovo b590, original 500gb disk is 7mm high, can I replace it with 9,5mm disk?
    Any help would be appreciated, sorry for my english btw.

    I have had a disc failure on my system above. I have two 1GB discs and need to replace one if not both.
    I have tried to to find a compatability list but can only find one for firmware version 3.3 and above.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
