HI!
I've got a Lenovo Desktop with K8m800-M3 Motherboard. I need the pinout of the two front USB connectors: they are 13 pins disposed in 3 lines ad below:
|-|||              |-|||
|||||              |||||
||||-              ||||-
USB1         USB2
USB3         USB4
I can't find out the user manual, then I don't know how to connect front USB ports...can you please help me?
Thanks in advance.

hi robyone69,
Welcome to the Lenovo Community.
If you have the Lenovo J105 (types 8458, 8459, and 8460), you can find the connector layout under page 118 on the Hardware Maintenance Manual.
Spoiler (Highlight to read)
If the layout is different, you can find the user guide / maintenance manual on the lenovo suport.site (http://support.lenovo.com). Sample search:

    Greetings all ...
    I have been searching everywhere for the front panel header pinout of the P5BW-BTX Motherboard that is in the HP DC5700.
    Does anyone have this? It is unfortunately omitted from all the hardware and technical manuals.

    OK: for future reference BeatGr et al, here is the pinout for the front panel header connector on the HP P5BW-BTX motherboard:
    LED HDD  1 10  LED PWR
    LED HDD  2 11  LED PWR
    NC       3 12  SWI PWR
    NC       4 13  SWI PWR
    NC       5 14  NC
    NC       6 15  NC
    ->18     7 16  NO PIN
    NC       8 17  NC
    NC       9 18  ->7  (pins 7 and 18 are permanently shorted)
    I am not sure of the significance of the shorted pins 7 and 18 - maybe someone else knows.

  • 845E Max motherboard front usb crashing in windows xp

    Were running an 845emax based system using a p4 2.6 with a Antec easyusb 2.0 plugged in to the front of a desktop case.  We went in to the bios and told it to recognize 6 usb slots and played with the legacy setting.  Everytime we plug in a usb 2.0 hard drive in to the front or d-bracket usb slots the system hangs but if we plug it in to the back usb it works fine.  Is anybody else having this problem or does anybody else have any idea how to solve it?    :O

    Funny but I am having a similar problem with a Sandisk USB 2.0 CF Card reader. If I plug it in the front the system hangs but from the back (motherboard not d-bracket) it works. Other USB (1.1) devices work off this front hub.
    I am using a Lian Li case with USB 2.0 jacks in the front. On my other PC, same Lian Li case but with an Asus A7N8X motherboard, plugging the CF reader from the front case hub works fine.
    So it does not look like a problem with the card reader in my case. What BIOS version are you using?

    having it wreck havok on one's hard drive,like say possibly corrupting the m.b.r[master boot
    record]im asking because this happened once before,but i was able to repair it using xp
    pro's recovery console,this time i was not able to correct the problem,windows simply will
    not boot from that partition,and i know the only thing that was done,[or plugged in]or
    out-was hot swappable,turned off and was the ipod.......please any help here would be hot
    thanx,[email protected]

    I've already tried that. iTunes also hangs for a number of minutes whenever I open it up. I have tried trashing prefs etc but no luck. The issue always comes back. Of course I did take this crap G5 into Apple to get it fixed, but they were unable to replicate and so nothing was fixed. I guess I will need to bring it in with my complete setup the next time and show them firsthand. Its funny, I have a 5 yr old Dual G4 that gets used about 4x as much as my less than 6 months old G5.

  • How do I plug in front USB?

    I have 2 cables that say the same thing, which is VCC, USB+, USB- and GND. I also know that these should be in the yellow JUSB ports 1 & 2 on the motherboard, but the thing is that i dont know exactly how I should put them in there. help please.

    The reason for two of each is one for each port. They should have a one and a two next to them to seperate which port is which.

    I like the cases that have the front usb connectors together in 1 cable - like my Antec  No-brainer connection, then

  • Front Panel connector for JAUD1 on K9A2 Platinum mobo

    I bought some headphones for my computer and they work well when plugged into the line out and mic on the back. It's a pain unplugging my speakers in the back and plugging in the headphones, then switching back when I want my speakers again.
    I noticed there is an internal JAUD1 connector which suggests that I can attach a front panel audio device to it. Where can I get such a device and what is it called ( I can look on New Egg if I know what to look for ) ? Does MSI sell one ? Does it attach in front into one of my drive bays ( I have lots of them in a Lian Li case ) ? If I have the device attached and plug my headphones into it, can I listen to audio through my headphones without having to unplug my speakers ?

    Quote from: eldiener on 06-January-11, 01:23:43
    My case is about 10 years old I believe. It is a Lian Li PC-70USB Full Tower ATX Case and it still is excellent. But it did not come with a front panel audio connector. Is it possible to buy one anywhere which can fit into a drive bay and which connects to the JAUD1 on the K9A2 ? I will search New Egg for "front panel audio connector", and I will ask Lian Li if perhaps they have one for older cases.
    You can buy a new soundcard that comes with some front panel bay too ,though is much more expensive than a simple new case.
    If you managed 10 years without a front jack why would you want it now ?!
    Buy some USB headshones ,if there is a front USB connector ,maybe you get even better sound quality.
    The sound on the Platnium is not so great anyway ,i ve turned it off in the first 2 months of usage to use either X-FI either D1 which are much better sound wise.

  • Lenovo H535 Desktop Win 8.1 USB 3.0 Disconnecting Issue

    OK. I just bought this Lenovo H535 desktop in early September and this OS has been driving me CRAZY.  After spending well over a month and performing maybe 7 clean installations, I'm trying to get this stupid & worthless operating system to work correctly, I'm left with one issue(that I know of) I cannot resolve.
    Now that I've upgraded Win 8.1 core (clean install from RTM iso), my USB 3.0 external Fantom Greendrive is disconnecting on it's own. In Windows 8, it stays connected FOR EVER, but in Windows 8.1, I'm having issues. Of course the drive is plugged into the back of the PC and I've tried each of the USB 3.0 ports. One thing I can tell you is, this USB 3.0 device disconnects at the same exact time each time..... NOT RANDOMLY. Disconnects that the same time provided I don't change any of the PC's hardware settings. And I'm now troubleshooting this isse on a freshly installed system:
    Normally the Fantom HD disconnects in 7 min 15 sec.  I have tried:
    Disabling the USB Selective Suspend  in the Power Options -  Doesn't work.  USB 3.0 disconnects in 7 min 15 sec.
    Also disabled the HD from sleeping also in the same panel.- Doesn't work.  USB 3.0 disconnects in 7 min 15 sec..
    Regardless of what I'm doing on the computer in the background, it always disconnects at the same exact time.
    Tried disabling the Power service all together(no power options.) - USB 3.0 disconnects in 22 min 45 sec.
    I turn Power Service back on and disabled about 10 uneeded  services - USB 3.0 disconnects in 7 min 15 sec..
    OK, after installing ANOTHER fresh install of Win 8.1, and installing the Windows Updates, BUT this time I have installed ALL updated device drivers from the Lenovo support site for Win 8.1  Even though most devices were running ok with MS generic drivers.   I thought that the installation of a new Chipset Driver and USB Filter Driver would fix the issue. Nope. I GET THE SAME DARN DISCONNECTING.
    Conclusion. In Windows 8 Core, the USB 3.0 external Fantom HD stays connected for EVER  but in Win 8.1 core- it's disconnecting. That leads me to believe that Windows 8.1 core has some bugs. With my limited experience, it seems that there is NOT physical power shortage. but a Windows 8.1 bug. (works good in windows 8) Another thing that may be related is with Win 8.1, the PC will not go to sleep. Sleeping issues is defitely a bug
    Everyone on most sites I've read said to install the chipset drivers and it will work fine. Well, with me, everything is the exception.
    Can the Fantom HD disonnecting on it's own all the time, corrupt anything on it?
    Does anyone have any resolve or any additional info on this????  I really would appreciate it. I kind of like Win 8.1 better than 8 because it's the lesser of 2 evils.  Oh, I'm glad to a member in the forum

    Hello again.  I found the solution!! Simplly clean installing Windows 7pro  and getting rid of Windows 8 did the trick. the USB 3.0 hard drive stays connected as long as I like. The 3.0 speeds are great also.  It's a shame I bought Windows 8 on a pre-installed system, but I'm never gonna use it. I like the fact that Lenovo provided the Windows 7 Drivers on the support website for my H535 which gave me the opportunity to install OEM and AMD drivers as opposed to microsoft generic drivers.
    Now I need to find a product key. I don't know where to look or if any product key work work. Would buying a Retail box work? Seems like overkill just for a key. Can I buy a downloadable product product key for a cheaper price? Thanks
    To add: I found out that the Windows 7 pro x64 retail boxes (DVD, COA, KEY) are about $130-$140.  I don't think I want to buy a key without the COA which is proof that your key is authentic.

  • Front USB Ports NOT Working

    Really need help from the experts here ------ HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1 Desktop Model: H2M46AA (has Joshua mainboard with Intel H61 Chipset) Hard drive crashed and have no original drivers. Did clean install of Win7 SP1 Home Premium. All OK except Other Devices, Universal Serial bus (USB) Controller. Driver cannot be found. After the Win7 install, installed an ethernet driver and then from HP website installed the Original Chipset files. All drivers OK except the above which apparently controls the front 2 USB ports which didn't work. Next, installed all updates provided by Windows Update. Front USB ports still inoperative. They worked before the new Win7. After much research, inoperable front USB ports appears to be a common problem, but none of the provided solutions help (check cables, power down completely, Intel Driver Update Utility, etc.). On my system, the first of 4 Hardware IDs for this device show as: PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_8241&SUBSYS_2ADA103C&REV_02. According to pcidatabase.com, this is identified as: "Texas Instruments USB 3.0 XHCI Host Controller", and thus a possible the problem. The ports are, I believe, USB 2.0 and not 3.0 according to Joshua documentation (http://www.foxconnchannel.com/ProductDetail.aspx?T=motherboard&U=en-us0000525 Also, review of "\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log" shows there are no files on the drive associated with the above Hardware ID because they cannot be found during driver installation. So question: How can I get these USB ports working -- have installed every recommended HP update for this system. I'm stumped!

    You're right, it's just an update of the driver but I think it is specified, you can see theTechnical Reference: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp70501-71000/sp70786.html TITLE: Texas Instruments USB Controller Driver Update

    hi Davidgll,
    On the dvd drive's faceplate, can you check if there's a small pinhole where you can force eject the disc tray by inserting a paperclip into it (see image below):

  • [VIA] Add warning message when installing wrong front USB cable

    I've just updated the BIOS on my MS6390 motherboard from 1.4 to 1.8 and on boot up I now get the message Warning - Wrong front USB cable (or words to that efftect). I disconnect the front USB cable on the mother board and the message goes away. The front USB ports worked fine on version 1.4. I have checked the cable and reseated and everthing looks OK. Can any of you techie types help ?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the replies folks.
    I upgraded bios as I was blue screening a lot in XP. That problem seems to have cleared but I now have the USB fault. The front USB cable came with the case and is in a block with 9 pins and one blank. WIll I have to get a new cable or is there an adapter I could use.
