Lenovo Lynx K3011 Update Probleme auf Win 8.1

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

  • Lenovo G580 BIOS update problem - Error 255

    Hi!
I read a lot of these problems, but there were no solutions, not even a feedback from Lenovo...
So I have the same problem.
    - I download this update: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/62cn40ww_64.exe
    - I try to run it as Administrator and I got the error message: Error 255 - TDK library initialization failed
What could be the solution? I tried the advices from other forum posts, but I still have the problem. I have Win7 x64. My laptop is G580 (20150 model).
    Thanks for the help.

  • Lenovo G570 Bios Update Problem

    Hello All,
I am new to this forum and before i ask my question sorry about my poor English.
I downloaded latest official bios from the lenovo support page for my laptop. The file name is InsydeFlasha_x64(v2.09).exe I followed all instructions written in the file which is shown in the support page. I right click on the file and run as administrator it checked the bios versions and asked me if i am sure to write new bios with some warnings such as not to shutdown and no unplug etc. I clicked ok and it started to flash and i can see the progress bar, after progress bar is full it asked me if i want to flash EC bios too. I just clicked OK and it just freezed. After around 20 mins it's still freezed and the fan is on with full speed. Then I pressed on power more than 4 seconds and nothing happened. Mouse didn't move, keyboard didn't work. I closed the lid i even closed the lid, it didn't off the leds too. So I unplugged the power and then battery and it shutdown. After plugging the battery i run the laptop and press F2 to enter setup. I saw that bios is 40CN23WW(v2.09)  and EC Bios is 40EC05WW(v2.04). Beside all those the serial number is INVALID, model name is INVALID and something like in the miedle is FFF-FFFFFFF-FFF and so on...
I don't understand what I did wrong. Did it happen to anyone? How can i correct this? The laptop seems ok now working but the bios is the same above i wrote. all is INVALID. Hope anyone can help me?
    Thank you all.

    Hello yigit,
I'll contact to Lenovo technical service for this issue. But before contacting i would like to let you know that I found official 40CN22WW(1.09) bios for G470/G570 from China support page and i flashed bios with that version. It flashed the BIOS but same problem happened when it comes to EC. When i clicked on OK for flashing EC it freezed and nothing move so around 10 mins later i had to reset laptop by unplugging the battery. But when i enter the setup i saw that all INVALID gone and the correct values are there. So i can see model, uid and serial number in BIOS now. But the EC is same old one which i typed in 1st post.
    When i saw this i wanted to flash BIOS with official 2.09 version. It flashed the BIOS and came to EC flashing. This time it become different. After flashing BIOS it asked me to flash EC, and i clicked on OK, after clicking OK around 6-7 seconds later this appeared;
    IHIS:EC write error in SMI!
and after this one it reset the laptop by itself, i checked in the BIOS and the serial, model changed to INVALID again but BIOS version is 2.09 and EC is 2.04. So I reflashed the BIOS with 1.09 and now in BIOS no more INVALID but EC is still 2.04. I don't know maybe this version has an EC protection or something like that. Or maybe my laptop BIOS or EC is corrupted. I wanted to flash my BIOS at 1st just because of those fan noise with almost 100% speed. Even the temperature is 45 the fan runs like F1 race car I'll take this with this BIOS now and when i go to Adana where I bought this laptop I'll ask for technical help there. Beside all those except FAN runs too fast, there is no problem on laptop everything works fine. But i noticed that boot time is faster with this 1.09 bios, i don't know maybe this is a coincidence.
Thank you for your interest and replies.

  • Firmware update problem solved after Win XP SP3 -upd

I'm one of the numerous victims of ZEN firmware updating problem. At the start I had Win XP SP2 and WMP. My player is ZEN Micro 5gb and after trying to update firmware it had firmware problem and stayed in the recovery mode. Firmware updater and ZEN Media Explorer couldn't recognize the player. So that's how I got it work again:
    1. Rolled back WMP to WMP9, updated it to WMP0.
    2. Removed ZEN Media Explorer and Jukebox driver (all Creative stuff) from Add/Remove programs in Control Panel.
It didn't solve the problem. I also tried my player with couple of other computers, but it didn't help either.
    3. Installed Win XP SP3 -update.
    4. Reinstalled driver for ZEN Micro in Control Panel.
    5. Ran the firmware updater and this time it did recognize the player.
    (6. Updated WMP back to version and the player's still working.)
Hope this will help you too.

I can start the upgrading process, but at around 95% it stops, and says "firmware upgrade failed." I didn't uninstall WMP though, because I have Vista, and I hae no idea how to do it. I can only get my computer to recognize my 6G Zen when I go into recovery mode and choose 'reload firmware' then I connect it to the computer and I can start trying to upgrade it. If I dont go into recovery mode, its just a blank screen, the computer doesnt recognize it, and I can't even turn it off without reseting.
?I've tried so much, now when I try to upgrade, it loads a little bit and jumos to the end quckly and says "firmware upgrade fails" and nothing works. Do I have to try to do all the things you listed to fix this?

  • ThinkCentre A62 (9486-A33) BIOS UPDATE PROBLEM

    Hi
I have a Lenovo AM2 socket motherboard. On the pcb is printed M2RS780MH (L-A780) Rev 1.1
After 100% successful bios update with win xp pro from bios version 56KT48A to the latest bios version 56KT62A i get no boot or beep error code!!!  After this successful update... i found after much searching that with this motherboard model you cannot update from 48A to 62A version because you risk to "brick" your motherboard but there is no notification of this problem from Lenovo not to update the bios from this old version to the latest. This is clearly a Lenovo problem and not the users fault to not being able to correctly update the bios.
Is there any way to fix this problem??????????????
Making a diskette with lower bios version like 61A did not help.
I have saved the old bios(56KT48A) before upgrading, how can i install the old bios??????????????
    Andrew

Sorry, it seems you had very bad luck with this update: System unable to boot after performing Boot Block Recovery. You may be interested in following this flash recovery boot block jumper procedure before giving up.
Let us know what happens if you try the recovery procedure!
Edit: this one looks like the right diskette version for the recovery procedure on your computer.

  • Lynx K3011 won't wake up from sleep

I have a Moko Slim Cover Case for my Lynx.  I noticed that often, after I close the case and the device goes to sleep and wait a while to use it, the tablet will not wake up from sleep.  I have to hold down the power button to shut it off and then release it and press the power button to turn it on again.
If I close the case and open it shortly after that, it wakes up just fine, but after being closed for some length of time, it will not wake up.  I think it has to do with the auto sleep function with closing of the case because if I don't close it and let it sit and it goes to sleep, it will wake up.
Does anyone else who uses this case have difficulty waking up the device after leaving it closed for a period of time?

I have the moko case and I have not experienced any problem directly related to the case.
Have you tested this with the case off to see if it behaves the same?

You must enable multi-monitor support if you wish to use the internal graphics when a graphics card is installed.

  • How do I do a factory reset on my IdeaTab Lynx K3011?

I'm selling my IdeaTab Lynx K3011. I want to do a factory reset on it so the buyer can set it up as his or her own, and so  my data/logins/passwords are gone from it.  How do I go about doing that? Thanks,Chris

I use Rescue and Recovery for my backups.
Do you have Lenovo ONEKEY recovery program (OKR) installed on your system from the factory install?
    If so, what version?  8.0?
There is limited documentation around about OKR. A Google/Bing search of "onekey recovery documentation will provide some items to view.
You state: recovery discs on DVD are not an option.  .. Does this mean you do not have a DVD burner?
I will post 3  INFORMATIONAL links.  One describes OKR 6.0, with a create recovery media on DVD or USB.
It is my understanding, which may be wrong, Lenovo does not ship recovery discs for systems with OKR.  You must take the machine to a Lenovo shop to get HDD reset.

  • Update Problems with Agent 10.3.4

we have a lot of various problems during the update of ZENworks Agent from 10.3.3 to 10.3.4 - on WinXP and Win7:
Assigned the Update to 185 PCs: 77 not yet done, 102 successful but 10 failed with errors. Errors on different PCs are similar but not identical:
All system-update.log and additional MSI logs showed different error messages, some PCs installed several other MSIs but had errors in several MSI logs
And of course users could not work any longer since Icons on Desktop - from ZENworks are missing. So problem solved with manual Uninstall and Reinstall of agent. But we have another 300 PCs to upgrade, some of them are important ones. Another customer with 2000 PCs did NOT have so many problems.
Error messages in German - Does anybody see similar events?

  • Creation of Windows 8 OS CD/Media - Lenovo Lynx K 3011

I have recently bought Lenovo Lynx ideaPad K3011 and got Windows 8 pre-installed. I can see the windows 8 license/product Id through My Computer --> Properties.
    1. Since there is no Windows 8 OS CD provided by Lenovo with this tablet, is there a way that I can create a Windows 8 OS Recovery on CD or a Pen/Flash drive media?
    2. If OS crashes, how do we boot it and restore/reinstall the OS? (For desktops/laptops, generally we used to do this through Bootable CD/DVD, etc.
    Thanks in advance
    Solved!

    hi trnra,
    Welcome to the Forums.
    Regarding your questions:
    1. If you have the IdeaTab Lynx with the dock, you can follow this guide to create a recovery drive and use it to recovery Windows from a crash.
If you don't have the dock, you may try the following (I haven't tested this method yet since there's no available USB OTG cable here in the lab)
    - enable USB OTG under BIOS
       To access the BIOS:
        - navigate to the UEFI firmware settings or
        - press Power button > Volume Up > Voume Down (in this sequence) when the unit is Off
    Alter
    - use a USB OTG cable and a flashdrive and follow this guide to create a recovery drive
    2. If the OS doesn't start, you may enter Push Button Reset Mode (see this thread).
       - I haven't tested booting from the OTG cable with the recovery drive created in step 1 yet but you can try it by altering boot to USB HDD under BIOS.

  • Lynx K3011 Windows 8.1 RTM Choppy

I have a Lynx K3011 that I am VERY happy with.  It gets more attention from people that see it than any device that I have ever had. I upgraded it to the Windows 8.1 Enterprise preview shortly after I received it and it has been running flawlessly. Video has been very smooth and responsive.
Since the RTM code for Windows 8.1 was released Monday on Technet I downloaded the 32bit  version and installed it today.  While the preview was smooth and responsive the RTM version was jerky and sluggish.  I reset everything back to factory and tried it again, to no avail.  Has anyone else tried this? There do not appear to be any later drivers for this CPU/chipset anywhere. For the moment I am back at the factory release 8.0 and trying to decide if I want to go back to the preview.  8.1 IS better on this tablet.
By the way. DO NOT INSTALL THE DRIVERS FOR THE TABLET THAT ARE ON THE WEB SITE FOR VIDEO, ETC. Your tablet will go into an endless boot loop.  You will have to boot to recovery to fix it.  Hard to do if you don't have the keyboard option (Hint - Use a USB keyboard, it works.)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The display driver in Windows 8 is the Intel driver, 9.14.3.1099 dated 10/24/2012.  Intestesting, at least to me, is that I ran the Enterprise Preview of 8.1 and it ran great.  I am not sure whether I loaded the drivers from the web site but performance was absolutety excellent so I expected no trouble in loading the 8.1 Pro RTM. I hate to step backwards, but I think that I will attempt to install the Enterprise Preview again and give it a couple of months.  I assume there will be a driver update coming.
One other side point.  I used an available key to try upgrading to 8 Pro so that when 8.1 is released it would offer me the Pro upgrade.  It accepts my key, but then fails miserably to update. My understanding is that 8 keys will work with 8.1 so I may just wait a while unless I see a solution earlier.

    Patternflyer,
I've very sorry to hear that this wound up being such an ordeal for you!
The way it is supposed to work, is that models sold through distribution (whether Best Buy, CDW, etc) have the 12 months plus a couple of months of "padding" added to make up for time spent in inventory in distribution.   Usually a customer will have at least 12 months of time that way.  The warranty starts from date of manufacture.
In some cases, it took more time to sell through than expected and the customer might have less than 12 months by the time they get it.  This can be reset, as you note, with a proof of purchase showing the type and serial number of the unit.
Custom configured systems ordered direct through Lenovo are shipped directly from manufacturing, and so the warranty starts then.
I agree with many of your points and we are working toward more chat services to be available, and also more integrations when you register your system.   With a direct sale, we know the customer, while in a retail scenario, we won't.   Ideally the registration process will update records.
I am also optimistic that we will have greater account integration in the not too distant future - where your account registered could have credentials connected with our support site, sales, the forum and other Lenovo properties.
    Best regards,

  • Question: What Lenovo drivers are required to make Win 7 work on a T400s?

I'm looking to upgrade my T400s to Win 7 RTM, and I want to check which Lenovo drivers / apps are required. Based on this forum plus the Lenovo Win 7 Beta site (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=WIN7-BETA), I think I need:
    System Interface Driver
    Hotkey Features
    Power Manager
Either UltraNav Driver or UltraNav Driver 2  -- how do I tell which one of these I need?
    UltraNav Utility
    Lenovo Fingerprint Software UPEK
    ThinkVantage Active Protection System
    ThinkVantage Access Connections  -- Optional
    WLAN Intel Echo Peak ??
    Questions:
Did I miss anything or do I not need any of the above?
Any problems running Win 7 64 bit?
Is the above order correct? I thought I saw a thread showing the install order a while back, but I cannot find it now.
Any problem using the Lenovo System Toolbox for Vista?
