[Lenovo MIIX2 8] Android x86 4.4 r3 Bootable USB

Android x86 4.4 r3 works on Lenovo MIIX 2 8" **PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK, IF YOU CHOOSE TO INSTALL, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES**But if you have succeeded on installing and dualbooting with windows, please share   Please note: This is experimental, by all means this is not recommended for beginners and/or will I provide support... Please post feedback if possible. Required:OTG CableUSB HubUSB KeyUSB Keyboard **Can bypass keyboard if you set timeout in grub.cfg** Bootble USB Live Android (OTG Cable Required, internal SD card cannot be bootable**what a shame**) Download android-x86-4.4-r3.img Create a bootable USB using unetbootin, choose USB and IMG file. Boot to Bios and Disable 'Secure Boot'Boot from USB using the NOVO Screen. (Power+VolUp)On the boot menu(Grub), Need to plug in a keyboard to select Android Live USB Once Android boots, you will need to change the keyboard setting and turn 'hardware' off for onscreen keyboard. Works:Touch ScreenWiFi (Sometimes it doesn't work)Hardware Acceleration Not Working:BluetoothAuto-Rotate (Using a Rotating App to get Landcape mode)Battery Status IMG File:android-x86-4.4-r3.img Unetbootinunetbootin Note: If only we can boot from the internal SD card reader.

Update: After playing with Android, I have hit a few snags. After Shutting Down or Rebooting, Android fails to load again... It goes to black screen and nothing happens.Have to Recreate the USB bootable from scratch to get it going again and then sometimes WiFi won't work. Conclusion: Although I've gotten Android to work for a while, I am quite surprised that it booted on the MIIX 2 8" with working Touchscreen & somewhat working WiFi. Android x86 has made tremendous progress over the years, hopefully we will be enjoying a dualboot tablet soon

  • [Yoga 13] Android-x86 / Android-IA

Well, I think the subject is descriptive enough, has anyone tried any of this custom Androids on the Yoga 13? I've tried both; I got Android-x86 to liveboot by disabling UEFI, with no wireless, but that is as far as I gone due to no GPT support and no EFI support.
As for Android-IA, despite it's native EFI and GPT support, I couldn't get the last release to boot or install. I've posted this issue on their community, because there's a Google Doc that says Yoga is supported although with no wireless / BT.
From what I've read across different forums, I've learned that the Yoga's -POS- wireless adapter's driver is not included (or enabled, I don't know exactly) on the Android's kernel, so even if I got to install any of them, they wouldn't connect wirelessly.
I'm not looking for official support, as I know this ultrabook is intended to run only Windows 8, but Android has far more apps on its store, aside from being the number one mobile OS today.
Ultimately, I believe it would be a competitive advantage for Lenovo to offer an official patch / update that installs dualboot Android on their Ultrabooks (such as Yoga, Twist, and others).
Please share your experiencies and maybe we can get this to work.

    Hey guys,
I don't meat to brag but I'm on my Lenovo Yoga 2 13 inches and writing from android x86 4.4.2 :]
Just to say it's possible if you look to the right places. Everything doesn't work (orientation and camera don't), but wifi surprisingly do work fine and I'm able to play 3D games on it flawlessly using Tegra packages (wolf among us, the walking dead, Fruit ninja, hitman go, GTA chinatown wars, ...).
it's installed with Windows 8.1 and Ubuntu 14.10 using Grub 2. Also the boot is in safe mode.
If I have the time, I'll do a quick tuto. (It's a mess, NOT for the faints of heart)

    Hello,
I tried to export an existing Android-ARM to Android-x86:

  • Android x86 works by default?

    Hi all,
with the recent adding of x86 support for Android, I decided to buy an Android x86 tablet for testing (Dell Venue 7, specifically). I was surprised to find that my app can be downloaded from Google Play already and works without notable errors. The app is packaged with a captive runtime and I never made any changes to support x86 architectures. Is it not necessary to create an apk specifically for x86 devices? That is at least what I read in the Adobe guidelines.
    Thanks

Go to Google Play console, enable extended mode for uploading apk and upload both apks. Make sure the x86 version has a higher version number than ARM so that devices that support both processors take advantage of the faster x86 versions as described in this article: http://blogs.adobe.com/airodynamics/2014/06/26/versioning-of-multiple-apks-for-android/
You don't have to make any other settings, Google Play is able to identify the required architecture based on the apk and automatically deliver the correct one to the user.

  • Include Android-x86 directly from ANE

I have one ANE + SWC, without the source code and I managed to include the Android-x86 support by expanding the ANE (zip file).
However I have another ANE without the original SWC. How can I include the support for Android-x86 on this case ?

  • Arch & Android-x86 Dual Boot ?

    Hi All
Has anyone installed Android-x86 as a Dual Boot with Arch yet ?  Its something that i'm considering doing and wondered if anyone had done it yet ?

    ...I don't care
I see no reason why it wouldn't work... I would think a simple google search would tell you the answer, no?

  • How to show my photos in my LG 10.1 Android pad on my TV thru USB port?

How to show my photos in my LG 10.1 Android pad on my TV thru USB port?

        DDCD,
I love having the ability to show picture on the TV to my friends and family. I was able to pull up some details on the tablet. I am showing that screen mirroring is currently not available for this device. Another option that you can alway try is if you have an SD Card in your tablet you can always put that in SD Card Adapter and pop that into the TV's SD Card reader. Most flat panel TVs have an SD card reader. If you're not sure whether yours does, your owner's manual will let you know.

  • Adobe flash player runs on android ARM platform, but on android x86?

    Hi all,
    Anyone who knows this ?
    Thanks,

Flash Player for Android is supported for Android web browser on ARMv7 devices.  ARMv6, other browsers, x86, etc are not.

  • Lenovo S8 Tablet: Android 4.4.2 Kitkat showing letter B instead of K?!!

    Hey Guys,
Like the subject says, when i click on the android version under About Tablet section, it shows the letter B and not K , then on further clicking it shows the kitkat logo.
I have seen everywhere it shows letter K and not B (even in my phones) .So I am confused here, and would like some help?!! Why is it so, is t normal? Anybody else has it this way?!
    Attaching screenshots :-|

Nothing to worry here, each OEM (like Lenovo, Asus, Samsung) inserts their own stuff here, for example on my Samsung TabPro, it shows Samsung logo,t hen normal Android...
so I would not worry this at all..
of course, this is ester agg, what B stands for, this is something Lenovo throw in...

  • Windpad 110W Android x86 ICS App Storage Problems

Does anyone else have trouble getting more than a small handful of apps installed before there isn't any room for more? I have about 4Gb on my SSD dedicated to Android and 2Gb are unused. When in the storage setting on ICS I have only about 300Mb which is full. Isn't there a way to mount a "fake" SD card to access more space. I tried to install a regular SD card, but android doesn't recognize it. I can use an 8Gb USB storage dongle in the "mount SD function", but it still won't recognize it for the sake of installing more apps.  Only being able to install around 20 apps is a real bummer   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Lenovo A3500-FL Android Tablet. Won't Enrypt

Hello. Not sure if anyone else has run into this problem, but my A3500-fl won't encrypt. It starts to reboot but that's all it does. Never encrypts, and it's keeping me from adding my work email to it.

  • Lenovo X131e doesn't work with Prolific PL2303 based USB to Serial Adapter and Windows 7 x64

This is sort of a bug report. A Lenovo X131e with Windows 7 x64 and the PL2303 driver including 1.6, 1.61 and 1.7 will not successfully install the driver - Windows always reports "Driver Install Failed" on plug in to USB 3 or USB2 ports. However, putting a USB2.0 hub inbetween the USB to Serial Adapter and either USB port type makes the adapter work fine. This was not the case with the X130e. I'm not sure where to report this beyond this posting, but more of an FYI.

If the USB can be used for other equipment,
That may be compatibility issues for USB and Prolific PL2303.
Don't plug Serial Adapter when installing the driver,
Ofter installation, Connect serial adapter to see whether it is working normally.

  • Photo importer (12.0) does not detect my Android phone (OS X Mavericks) over USB

I am running Photoshop Elements 12.0 on OS X Mavericks. When I do, "File > Get Photos and Videos > From Camera or Card Reader", but it does not detect my Android device (Nexus 4, 4.2.2). On the Android side, I switch between Media Device (MTP) and Camera (PTP), refreshing the list, to no avail. OS X's Image Capture sees the files; Android's File Transfer utility does, too. I've tried multiple USB ports, but that doesn't help.
    What's wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

That is what I had to do, but I should be able to skip that extra step, especially because I like Photoshop Element's ability to verify the pictures and delete them directly from the source. If this really isn't possible directly from Photoshop Elements, then this issue is a fairly major oversight.

  • Lenovo G780 running on Windows 8... USBs nonfunctional.

    Hello.
I'm new to this forum (but not forums in general), so please excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong place. I recently bought the G780 (i7, 8 gigs of ram), and I love it. I actually bought it for school, and I hoist it around everywhere, but its so worth it. Anyway, I bought Windows 8 a few hours it came out and updated, and I've had no problems. I love it. Recently, I realized I have one problem. All four of my USBs don't function whatsoever. I restarted my computer to see if that would magically fix it, and it worked... for about 5 minutes. All four ports recognize my USB right after I reboot, but once 5 or 10 minutes pass, they cease to work. I looked to update my USB drivers, but Lenovo hasn't posted any for Windows 8. I downloaded the Windows 7 drivers and I get a message from the Windows Compatibility Assistant saying that these drivers won't be compatibile, and it doesn't allow me to install them.
I either need Lenovo to come out with some compatible USB drivers ASAP, or maybe I'm just doing something wrong. Either way, if someone can help me, I'd appreciate it wholeheartedly.

Here is what you can try - go to computer management ,un-install the usb devices and let windows 8 search them for you . Hope this helps
    Cheers and regards,
