Hi, I have the same problem as well. I bought this phone from Malaysia, from a shopping outlet (Txxxx) and I am sure that it is original set with warranty. I use 2 SIMs, since it is dual SIM, dual standy but 1 pass then I can configure 1 SIM for data plan whereas another is for call and sms. It is cheaper for me. Both of the SIMs are from the same service provider. All of the time, SIM2 will lose connection when the signal is low (rural area, office area), it become "X". Then for sure it is not service provider problem as SIM1 is OK. I guess SIM1 has higher priority than SIM2. What I have to do to enable back SIM2 by turning off SIM1 and SIM2 in Settings then turn on SIM2 then SIM1. But once I turn off SIM1 (plane/flight mode), I can see that SIM2 is back to normal. The signal bar is full. I just guess that both SIMs might be fighting resources when signal is low and SIM2 will always lose out.Hi arj99, you are using1 SIM or dual SIM as I think might want to switch back to use 1 SIM only.It would be nice if there is a solution from Lenovo on as if a phone cant make call then it is kind of stupid as this is the basic requirement of a phone.

  • Airport Extreme (5 Gen) suddenly very weak Wifi signal

Hello, everyone.  I have a 5th generation Airport Extreme that was working fine until a few days ago.  My power had gone out, and since then I am getting a very weak Wifi signal.  The network still appears and connects on all of my devices.  However, it is dreadfully slow (0.3 MB/s per Speedtest.net), whereas before it was 50 MB/s.  I have tried resetting to factory settings and opening up the option to 5GHz.  The 5 GHz wireless network works just fine on my iMac.  It doesn't show up as an option on my iPhone, though, and that's what's really bugging me.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and can help me out.  Of course, my phone support expired a few months ago and now they want $19 for a tech call.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Reset to factory again.
Setup again using all short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. If you were doing this make sure you use different names. Empty all the old names from the clients so they start over with fresh clean setup for wifi.
Use a different name for 5ghz.
Use fixed channels.. try 1, 6, 11 for 2.4ghz and try 36, and 150 for 5ghz.. around about.. exact channel is not such a big thing for 5ghz.
Check the link speed and make sure it is full speed if you are in the same room as the AE.
Test by copying a file on the local lan.. rather than testing to internet which could be a totally unrelated issue.
Test by using ethernet only on a computer plugged into the AE to see if the internet link has gone slow.

  • E90 Very weak WiFi signal

My E90 has a VERY weak WiFi signal, and in places I regularly use a 9500 and my laptop with no problem, my E90 simply will not work e.g. from first floor to ground floor. If I move closer to the Wireless router, then it is fine on both Email and Web.
So it seems purely that the strength on E90 is far weaker than 9500.
    Has anyone else found this?
Is there any way to alter signal strength in the various WiFi settings?
Or is this yet another shortcoming of E90 over 9500?

    beaumec wrote:
Yes I already altered Tx power settings. Thanks for suggestion. Makes no difference.
It really seems this E90 just has a vastly lower power WiFi rating than my 9500.
It is very tedious to be unable to connect even within one's own home and frankly renders the phone totally useless, quite apart from all the other problems well documented on here.
I think I can see why so many are up for sale on Ebay.
Does anyone at Nokia read these discussion pages and does anyone care that their products seem to fall short in SO MANY aspects?!
That's right, it seems no one reads these discussion.
However, if u have ur problem solved, pls advise

Anybody faced such issue with this immature router? I was using E4200, the signal was much better. I thought of upgrading to latest “high-end router”, unfortunately it is not an upgrade it is a rip-off. This router is not stable at all.
I will switch to NetGear, any recommendations?

  • Very weak wifi signal after i change the battery

i recently change my playbook battery. everything seems perfectly okay except that i have a very weak wifi signal reception. i need to be very near the router just to have the signal. i dont know what went  wrong during the changing of battery process but everything is okay except the very weak wifi signal received. please help.

Looking at the photos in crackberry forum it's the white antenna cable, antenna is top RH corner as you look at the screen. There may be an antenna component inside the back (according to ifixit)  but the cable terminates in a little pcb possibly marked 3G.  Blue cable seems to be BT and grey is GPS. The TI chip supports all three functions, single cable for each. That is why 802.11n is only 65mbps.
Come back if that's not correct.
Thanks to crackberry and ifixit if it is.

  • Can anyone tell me or give me a link to the latest response from Apple regarding very real weak wifi signal on what seems to be a batch of both the new ipad and the earlier Ipad2. I have just bought a 2nd hand ipad2 and it has a very weak wifi signal

Over the last week or so I have been trawling the internet looking for references to weak wifi signals on the Ipad2 and was staggered by the sheer quantity of people who seem to have identical issues, not just with the ipad2 but also with the new ipad. What annoyed me most from reading the reams upon reams of comments made on the Apple community forum is the fairly large number of people who seemed to believe that 'these' people were either just moaners and wingers or else they must have something wrong with their router set-up rather than a serious fault with their ipad and it seems all because there ipad in question works like a dream.
Obviously I can only speak from my experience, and that is, I have an ipad2 32GB with wifi, purchased about 6 months ago and it works like dream with a good 2-3 bar wifi signal through 2 thick stone walls over 30 feet away. My router is a standard one supplied by my broadband supplier compatible with all 'g','b' and 'n' equipment. However, over a week ago now I bought second hand genuine ipad2 16GB with wifi from a close friend who has just purchased a new ipad3 to replace his old ipad2 (had it for over a year so no longer under warranty). When I started it up downstairs from my router, where I always use my other ipad2 which has a very strong wifi signal, I discovered that the new secondhand ipad2 I had purchased couldnt find a network signal at all. So after doing network resets and all other 'fixes' on the device recommended, I took it upstairs to my office where the router is based and found that the device could now locate the network, but the signal was lost over only 12 feet from the router!
I quizzed my good friend about this issue and he informed me that it has always been like this since he first purchased it and he never thought that it was a fault, it was just the way it was. When he first aquired the device he did think at the time that this distance was poor, but thought nothing of it as he didnt have any other ipad to measur ethe signal strength against, and as his router was in his living room anyway he nothing of it. Fair enough.
So, there we have it. One ipad2 with a very good wifi signal and another ipad2  with a very poor wifi signal running off the same router, both with the same IOS 5.0. ?
As well as all of the other isues that customers have picked up on, such as 'death grip' (which I must say does appear to happen, but personally i dont think that this is a serious issue if you are aware of this issue and have a strong signal anyway), my experience seems to be a good  example of a 'duff' wifi ipad versus a 'great' wifi ipad', an issue confirmed by complaints from a fairly large number of customers who have also reported the same or similar weak wifi signals with both the ipad2 and the ipad3. So, as this shows the weak wifi signal is a very real issue it seems on a batch of ipad2 and 3's, which to my logic is obviously a hardware issue on a batch of early ipad2's and not a software one, otherwise all ipad's would suffer this problem! So, is it a faulty antenna or a faukty network card in an early batch?
So, the bottom line now is, of course, firstly,  how can I get Apple to fix my other ipad2 when the warranty has run out? Any suggestions anyone?
Personally I think good Apple customer service should offer a recall with a replacement on this apparent batch of ipads, dont you?

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Lenovo P780 suddenly rarely has signal

Hi! First of all, I read a lot of threads in this forum and no, those didn't help me.
I bought a Lenovo P780 in February, ROW version (if I remember ROW123 4GB), imei starts with 860. I installed a custom rom (I checked and it is for this ROW) and it worked fine. One day in May I noticed that I got no signal. Then it came back. Than it went away. It is still the problem of course.
I never dropped nor flooded the phone. I tried installing other GSM modems as people on forums suggested, I tried a lot but none of them worked. I was angry so I took it apart, and saw that the outer shell of the antenna cable was damaged, so I ordered a new one, but it didn't help. I checked the whole PCB under a magnifying glass so maybe I would find any sign of damage so then I can replace the faulty component (I have access to do that), but I found nothing.
I tried it with different SIM cards. Then I found out, that in the Settings menu in the about phone section you can see the exact signal strength (it usually says 0dBm 99 asu which is absurd). You can only access it when you have a SIM card in the device but when you are in, you can take it out and you can still see the signal strength. It sometimes finds signal, but it is very rare.
What should I do? I have no money to replace the motherboard, and of course I have no warranty. Is there a chance that my problem is software-based, or it is surely hardware stuff? What can I do?

I have the same problem. Have you found any solutions?
Both sims had full signal (cosmote and vodafone) and everything worked fine.
Suddenly one day none had signal. If I only leave one sim in the phone sometimes it has full signal, but most of the time low or no signal.
    ANything would help. Thank you.

  • Very weak WLAN signal on Satellite Pro L10

    Hi,
I have a Sat Pro L10 that came without a mini pci wireless card so I bought and installed one and fitted internal antenna behind the screen. When I am in the same room as the router I have a brilliant connection but as soon as I leave the room I lose it all together. The router is fine as other people have no problem connecting to it. The card I bought is made by Agere but came labelled as Toshiba, I have updated the driver to the newest I could find which is june 2002.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated as I'm sick of dragging this wire around with me.

    Hi
I think there is no much to do. I think the environment has a strong influence on the Wlan signal receiving. Its the same issue like yours.
My brother uses the Wlan at home and the signal is strong enough if he is in the same room but in other rooms the signal is very weak. But at my home he can receives the WLan signals without any problems. The signal is strong also if he is in different rooms
I think the room walls are the reason for the weak signal.
But you could check the Wlan card properties in the device manager. There you could change some settings in the Advanced tab. For example disable the power saving, etc

  • Iphone 3GS very weak wifi signal since 4.3.3 update

Ever since i update to 4.3.3 (which I'm regretting now) my iphone will not connect to my wifi router unless I'm less than 3 feet from it.
My wife has a 1st gen IPod touch (which hasn't been updated) can pick up the wifi and connect to the wed with it upto 30 feet from the router, as my iphone used to.
Is this a 3GS issue as i've read some other posts about a similar problem. I'm not willing to accept this as a hardware problem as the minute before the updating to 4.3.3 my wifi signal strength was prefect, the minute after the update was complete the signal strength was and still is worse than sh*$e.
I have done all the power down resets as suggested on other posts, but it doesn't work.
Is there anybody out there that can tell me how to (if possible) to revert back to 4.3.2?????????????????????????????????????
    RLB

I don't have the answer to this issue but I'm experiencing the exact same problem.
Since 4.3.3 my wifi signal strength is close to nothing. When I'm 3 feet away from any router, at home or at work, I have 3 bars not even full reception. As soon as I walk a few yards away from the router, I lose the connection completely.
I've tried everything to fix this. Reset network settings, turning off Bluetooth, disabling location services, full restore, reconfiguring routers, etc. but nothing works. I'm now using the iOS 5 Beta 3 and still no improvement to this issue.
In this thread there seems to be some recognition from Apple that this is a known problem and indeed a software bug. Hard to know if it's true though:

  • Weak network signal strength

I don't receive 3G network signal at all on ma phone, and the 2G signal is barely available but am in a full strong network coverage area. Don't know what it could be that's wrong with my phone.... Help please

Hello alphaabet and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you are having network issues with your BlackBerry® Curve™ 9360 smartphone.
Did you buy this device directly from your mobile carrier or was it purchased unlocked from another source?
Network coverage is carrier determined so if you did buy this device from another branded carrier that didn't support 3G then when it wouldn't access 3G, even unlocked with another mobile carrier.
If you did purchase this from your mobile carrier and are still unable to acquire 3G then call your carrier and asked to be transferred to RIM® support for further investigation.
    Hope this answers your question.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

I found this problem happening with release 7.1.0.523 (or 569) on the all BlackBerry models. Try upgrading to 7.1.746, the current release for the 9320. Although this update is for a different carrier, there's an easy way around that, see this page for links and instructions:

Under the Mobile Network settings you might have set the Network mode on "2G" while you should have it on "3G and 2G" (or only 3G, but that's not as stable). Do you know what I mean?

  • No 4G signal in Cumbernauld, only a very weak 3G signal

There are posts on the internet, on the Cumbernauld News as well. Saying that EE launched 4G in Cumbernauld back in April 27th 2014. So I bought a new Huawei E5776s-32 modem and a 6GB 4G SIM data card.I've had it for 1 week, and still no 4G signal, the 3G is only 1 bar on the signal, there is not HSPA or HSPA+, so if the 3G is really weak, it goes to 2G. I don't understand. I checked my postcode on the coverage checker (G67 4JE).I am told 4G is available, I've been outside too, I am not just testing it indoors. Its rubbish outdoors. The coverage checker is not true.Either that or the 4G tower died and nobody bothered to fix it,  but even the 3G is weak and slow. I am very disapointed. There is no way I will be able to use even a few hundred MB of my 6GB.

Thanks for your reply! Kudos to you.Well to advertise a town as 4G live, when there is no signal here is wrong.I had a read on your thread, and there is no way EE has 80% 4G here. You'll probably end up the same in Coatbridge, they won't do anymore work.Probably by the time they decide to, the other networks will have 4G masts up and live. It's same with Vodafone, the 4G is only in big cities, Glasgow and Edinburgh. You are told, they don't know anything about new towns for the next 3 months, just to fob you off.But in saying that, at least Vodafone has a strong 2G,3G,HSPA,HSPA+ signal here. Just the 4G is non existant like EE. The EE 3G is only only 1 signal bar, and it's as slow as 2G. They don't care about towns, as you said, they do some work and move on, mark it as live when it's not. So that they can claim to be 4G 80% in that town.Must be something legally people can do about it, people signing contracts and buying prepaid data are expires after 90 days, all useless if there is no signal. Why advertise 4G when there is none.  A simple Google search of EE 4G and you get angry customers posts from Twitter and Facebook, talking about no signals for weeks, and EE don't care. No problems, they will sink once Vodafone and O2 catch up with the 4G masts. I  am happy I didn't take out a contract with EE and decided to test the Pay as you Go SIM first to see what it was like.It would have been 24 months of hell otherwise.

  • My iPad 2 picks up very weak wifi signal, but my iPod touch 5 in the same spot picks up super strong signal. What can I do to change this?

I have an iPad 2 and am iPod touch 5. Yesterday, my iPad all of the sudden did not want to pick up ANY signal at all in my house. It's like it completely give up on wifi, while my iPod and my laptop works just fine in the same spot. (I have an upstairs bedroom, while the router is downstairs in the kitchen).
So I have been trying yesterday to get it to work so what I have done is completely wipe the memory clean after I backed it up on iTunes. After resetting it, I restored it. Still nothing. So I tried to take my iPad down nearer to the wifi router, and OMG it picked up the wifi signal! WHUT?!? It didn't yesterday though...
But now whenever I am up in my bedroom, my iPad would not pick up the wifi at all, or if it did, the wifi would be super duper weak! But two days ago, it was PERFECTLY okay! My iPod and laptop that is sitting right next to the iPad up in my bedroom pick up the signal completely fine.
Can someone help me? What should I do? Is it problems with my iPad or would it be my router that is the problem?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim

  • Very Weak Wifi signal- core duo OS 10.5

    Please help!
Seen many threads on this issue but all are not the same problem...some are non-problems, some are not, this one is definitely a real problem suffered by many. If you suffer this problem you, like I, feel that your macbook pro begins to resemble a rather expensive paper weight as the wireless wifi capability is basically nonexistent.
    The problem:
    Dismal wifi signal strength
Symptoms and all clues that come to mind:
My macbook pro hovers on one bar and bounces to 2 on occasion and web is "phone line" slow with basically unusable upload and download speeds.
My girlfreind's machine (mbp w/core 2 duo 2.33) in the very same spot shows full signal indicator and web is snappy...upload and download speeds are a 5-100 times faster than mine.
This has not always been the case...in the past both machines performed identically.
Both machines have had HD's replaced recently.
What can be causing this and how can it be fixed?
Is it a software/firmware thing? A network setting? Is it a matter of the case being opened and the "bunny ears" adjusted and tin foil fitted to em? If I cannot actually fix it, is there some sort of signal booster I can get (cannot move signal source)?
Hate to say it, but I am better off with a crappy PC that I can actually use at this point than my impotent mbp.
Please do not post if you think I should move my router or that the MBP just does not effectively receive wifi due to it being made of aluminum.
Thanks in advance for your collective expertise...

You said both had their HD's replaced recently. Was this done by an Apple personnel or a third party?
Why i ask is because the Airport Extreme card is directly above the internal HD, so maybe during the HD install a wire came loose, perhaps?

*Take a look at step 11 and you'll notice the Airport card is next to the HD*
Might be worth looking into, or you might have a bad Airport card. Have the Apple store folks look at it.

  • Very weak audio signal

    Hi
I am trying to record a voiceover using a Sennheiser camera mic straight in to the mic input on my MacBook Pro, using Logic Express 7.
I've definitely got the right driver, input etc as it is recording and sounds ok-ish. The problem is it is very quiet and I get absolutely no visual 'soundwave' to see, which makes it much harder to edit.
Can anyone suggest how I can get a stronger signal? It's a really decent mic and I'm talking straight into it!
    Cheers

You have a problem regarding understanding what a LINE LEVEL vs a MIC LEVEL input is.
Your microphone, is, appropriately, MIC LEVEL output.
Your Mac's inut is LINE LEVEL.
In order for your mic to be at the right level, you have to use a preamplifier between the mic and the input, to bring the level up to the right amount.
