any body can give me a link to genuine lenovo part dealer please? I tried all week to find the dealer with something else than:a psu,a bag and a keyboard, and nothing.
I would like to avoid to hack a bios, but it seems lenovo have customers in deep ######,
best regards for all and lenovo team.
ps. sorry for my english. I have hope that's clear enough.

  • Are genuine Lenovo parts still available for the T series?

So far, I've been quite lucky with my T60p Thinkpad, as I haven't had to service is since purchasing it in 2006.
Now I'm replacing the hard drive (with a Hitachi Traverstar) because it's starting to fail some system tests, but I also anticipate having to replace the heatsink fan, as I'm sure after this many years and so much dust (which I blow out periodically) it's bound to fail eventually.
I looked up my Lenovo part number for the heatsink -- it is 41V9932 (Im not sure if the fan is possible to replace without replacing the whole heatsink assembly?).
But where can I buy geniune Lenovo parts for these laptops?  I searched the "shop Lenovo" store on this site, and they do have some things but not those internal components that I need.

    Welcome to the forum!
Try IBM directly. Expect to pay a pretty penny there.
Also try eBay, plenty of new fans available there.
It is possible to replace just the fan, however, my personal choice is to replace the entire assembly. YMMV.
    Good luck.
    Cheers,
    George

  • Rant: Anyone else find the Lenovo parts site offensively difficult to use and useless?

I just tried to find a part on the Lenovo website, and found it to be just about as bad an on-line experience as one could imagine.  Without a doubt, the worst example of e-commerce I have ever experienced.  My situation: I know what FRU I need. So first, the site makes it impossible to look up directly. Why?  Why, if I know a part number, does Lenovo make it hard to buy that part directly?
Ok, you play the cares your dealth.  So I played by their rules.  I tried to look up my model as requested.  First, I filled out the asked-for model number (on http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:show-categor... But entering the number doesn't do anything!   Hmmm.  There is also a spot for me to "select my product".  This is  a pull-down list with 100s of items long - literally every Lenovo products ever - that is NOT ORGANIZED IN ANY WAY.  Are these people crazy?  Do they value my time so little, or customer satisfaction so little, that they don't care if their site wastes my time and I can't get the product I need?  Then more fun.  After putting in my model number and actually finding "W530" in a random list of dozens of thinkpad laptops, the site threw an error.  It explained to me that I must have entered a number wrong.  I've managed SW products, and this is unacceptable.  The customer should never, ever, be allowed to enter anything close to something that is not recognized.
I've gotten good service when I 've called in.  But based on this site alone, I'd never buy another Lenovo product again.  And I'd recommend the same to others.  I'm going on a rant to several forums about this, as well.  Seriously, the worst website I've ever used is ... from a computer company?  Really?  A parts site, which you may be calling under extreme stress, does nothing but add more stress and frustration?
The W530 may be my last Lenovo.  Which bums me out: I love the machine.
Smart people will recognize that i wrote this to vent, yes, but also to suggest to Lenovo that they have a significant opportunity for improving a competitive disadvantage and making it an advantage.

  • IdeaPad S415 touch Windows 8.1 Update for Wireless Card Lenovo Part #20200437

I bought this wireless/bluetooth card for my Ideapad S415T and the only drivers for it were for Windows 7.  One solution I found said to run the Win 7 drivers in compatibility mode.  I wasn't satisfied with doing that so I hunted for the updated drivers for Win 8.1 and found them.  I have provided the link at the bottom of this page.
(Make sure you are plugged into your router by an ethernet cable to access internet)
    1. When you get to the page scroll down until you see the blue links click on either the link for Win 8.1 32 or 64 bit.  If you are not sure which version of Windows you have, go to your desktop open Control Panel, click on System and Security, find System and click on it. Under the System heading on this page you will find if you are 32 or 64 bit. Keep this window open as you will need it in step 3.
    2. Once you have downloaded the Zip file go to where it is in Downloads under This PC.  Right click on the folder file, which has a zipper on it, highlight Extract All.  This will undo the zip file into a separate file that is open.  Leave it in the download folder.
    3. Go back to your desktop. On the left hand side of the window you left open in step 1 look for Device Manager click on this.  Give it a minute as it opens the list.  If you just installed this piece of hardware it may show up under Other Network and will have a yellow triangle on it with an exclamation mark in it.
    4. Right click on it and highlight Update Driver Software.  This will open a new window click on Browse This Computer.  If this is an exsisting piece of hardware it can be found under Network Adapters.  Look for Qualcomm Atheros AR956x Wireless Network Adapter follow the instructions as for Other Network
    4. Once the new window opens up click on the Browse button.  This will bring up a new message box.  Highlight the Downloads folder.  At the bottom of the new message window click Open. This will populate the Browse bar.
    5.  Make sure Include Subfolders is checked (it should be by default), click next and it should find the drivers.  Follow the directions if any come up after that, and voila!  Your wireless should work.

If you think I may have missed something in the steps just reply to this post either what I missed or that you are having trouble with it.  Good luck

Can you be more specific with the below, as I can't make sense of what you're referring to?  I don't know what element size is at all, or where to change it.  And, I don't know what you mean by unchecking a checkbox in the device manager as there are no checkboxes.  More guidance and specifics would be appreciated.
    * Change the element size back to recover from blurry text
    * Go to device manager and uncheck that checkbox for the first of the USB devices in HID so that the touchscreen does always react on the first touch (this setting has been lost during the update process)

  • Lenovo 256 Solid State Drive Part Number?

I purchased a Lenovo 256GB SSD. The part number that I ordered was 43N3417.
When the drive arrived, the part numbers on it did not match.
The part number is 45N7990 and FRU is 45N7991.
The drive is a Toshiba drive that was made January 21, 2011.
Its marked as a 256GB Solid State Drive.
Can anyone confirm that the part number 45N7990 is a Lenovo part number?
Does Toshiba make the SSD for Lenovo?
Is this a true Lenovo drive or some knockoff drive?
    Thank you,
    Mike

    I'll chime in.
I ordered a 43N3417 256GB FDE SSD directly from Lenovo in May, 2012. The box that arrived said P/N 43N3417 but had the Part # 45N7990 / FRU # 45N7901 part inside just as described earlier.  It is labeled as an 256GB FDE SSD made by Toshiba.
The box said it was "Manufactured for Lenovo" 2011-12-16.
I also have a 2nd 43N3417 unit which arrived the same way so this appears to be what Lenovo ships for the 43N3417, perhaps depending on supply..or either they have a bunch of boxes with mislabeled parts inside.

  • What Fan Part No For T60 20077KG?

    Hi there,
The fan on my T60 is making a horrendous noise and I think I need to get it replaced before it completely dies on me!
I've had a look through the Lenovo parts page for my model (T60 20077KG) but as far as I can make out, there's 4 different fan part numbers that mine could be! (41V9931, 41W6406, 41V9932, 41W6407). I took my laptop apart in the hope that the fan assembly would have a part number on it, but alas no luck!
Can someone advise me on which fan I need. I've included a photo of the fan in case that helps!
    http://www.jjwebdesign.co.uk/temp/Fan.jpg
    Thanks in advance.

Moderator edit: 300k image just a little over the 50k limit in the Community Rules! Converted to link.

if the fan is just making a noise, it means that your fan spindle needs to be cleaned and reoiled. You can do this first, before considering a fan replacement.
Just take the fan/heatsink off, then strip apart the fan unit, clean the spindle with some clean cloth or tissues. Then add some wd-40 or sewing machine oil to the spindle, then place it back, this should solve your scratching noise. I do this all the time on my Thinkpads T60.
If this DIY servicing doesn't work then you would need the 41W6407, which you can get from IBM parts for around 60 USD including delivery (maybe slightly more or less in UK).

  • New OS install - what to do with Lenovo HDD partitions?

So i bought G555 500GB HDD version and when i was trying to install new OS i noticed something weird. HDD was already partitione into 4 parts, first was Some system part 29,3 GB, then some primary part or something 29,3 GB, then HDD 400GB and then some LEnovo part very small something about OEM.
So apart from that its only 460GB not 500GB i wanted to know if i can Format those first sections without worries so that i can install my OS there or maybe if i wanted to merge them and partition differently?

Create a recovery disk set first using OneKey Recovery. Then you can do anything to your disk.

  • How to order Levono Parts

Hello All, I'm a partly happpy owner of a Yoga 2 Pro.   I say partly, for a few reasons.   It's always been difficult for day to day use from resolution issues to touch screen and keyboard problems.  Plus with pre-packaged junk like Superfish, it seems like Levono took lessons on security from Sony.  Having to adjust screen and zoom settings is a royal pain.   (I realize it's more the applications fault, but it is embarassing)   on the plus side it looks nice and is light. My main issue though is the shoddy SSD they put in the thing that was evidently designed to fail just after the warranty expired and the low quality of the support website.   I've been trying for the last 2 hours to open a support ticket to see if I can get a replacement drive shipped to me and I have failed miserably.   All I get is an "Assisted Search" dialog and a button to purchase premium support. I guess I'll just go to NewEgg and buy a bigger SSD and throw F22 on it and avoid future Levono products.   Thanks for letting me complain though, it was cathartic.

In U.S., Lenovo parts are distributed by IBM:

  • Part Number Mixup - tech support phone number

I have been trying to buy a replacement wireless WAN antenna (AUX) #P93P4387 (listed in HMM on page #127 and illustrated on page #112).  Trouble is there is also PN 93P4387 on listed on page 131 and illustrated on page 128.  The latter has been shipped.  I need the former.
I talked to IBM parts today and they said that I have to have tech support clarify the proper item and gave me a number.  I called it and got a garbled message - obviously I was given an incorrect phone number.  Then went to the web site and could not find a phone number.
I need the item pictures as "23" on page 112 of the HMM for the T60 and dated October 2007.  Can somebody identify the proper part number or refer me to someone I can talk to so that I can call IBM Parts back and get this thing???
         Thank you.

Trouble with Wireless WAN...  Can anyone help me get the correct part or suggest an alternative approach?
    I have a T60p (8743-CTO).
I replaced the fan but ,in the process, lost a part:  Wireless WAN (AUX) antenna cable (page 78 in HMM),  It is shown In the Overall Parts List exploded drawing (page 112) as #23 or PN 93P4387.
I ordered this and received the part shown in the LCD FRU (page 128) as #6 which, unfortunately, is also a 93P4387.
It appears that Lenovo has the same part number for two separate items.
I have tried to get a parts distributor, Lenovo Parts and Lenovo Tech Support to unravel this mystery but nobody will help.
I would simply like to get the wireless capability in my laptop working again,.
If anyone can help me find a correct part number or suggest a workaround I would be most appreciative.

  • U310 screw kit part number

    HI,
I am planning to upgrade HDD in my u310 to solid state drive. Service manual says I cannot reuse the screws, I contacted Lenovo parts dept to get the new screw kit, they want part number to order the screw kit, technical supprt says they don't have the part number. Can someone please help me to find the part number of screw kit, even better if I can order online.
    Thanks!

I dont know if its the same as with the U410, but the screws are defenietly reusable there. Imho a laptops inside got nothing to endure, so no worries reusing screws there.
