Lenovo peer connect sdk

Hi everybody,
what is lenovo peer connect sdk for. It runs NAL Service at startup which causes another software not to work properly. That`s why I should know what this program is for before I uninstall it.
Thanks for your help

Can you state the other software that your think this Lenovo Peer Connect is conflicting with ? Lenovo web site shows zero on this software.  Other searchs show version 1.0,0.2 with jan 2014 dates. How recent did this software show up? Check add/remove programs sorted by install date.  My wildest GUESS, this is related to android phones connecting to a Wi fi. If you a new win8/8.1 I could expect this, but your are win7. All SDK searches of recent point to windows phone. VS the normal software development kit (SDK).

  • Peer to peer connection

    Hi
i am new to LCCS and want to build a basic collabration tool having a camera, whiteboard and audio. I have gone through some examples where by the use of mxml tags i am able to create sample collaboration application. Let me know whether the video and the audio sent is a peer to peer connection or its going through hub. If not please give me some idea where to start by using the sdk for establishing a peer to peer connection for creating a collabration application.
    Thanks.
    Vijay.

    Hi Vijay,
If you are using player 10 swc or higher, then your connection is automatically p2p unless one of the user is having a player version less than 10, a non-rtmfp connection or is behind a firewall. If you are using player 10 swc, we have a limit of 3 streams that can be sent over p2p. If the number  of streams exceed more, then everyone would be seamlessly switched to hub-spoke from p2p. You can also use some events and properties to determine whats the current connection or when the change from p2p to hub-spoke or vice versa happens.
An example that shows this in details is PeerToPeerRtmfp in sampleApps folder. Take a deep look at the example as well as run that.
You can also increase the limit to more than 3 by changing maxP2PStreamPublish in StreamManager. However, this may not be practically feasible due to bandwidth or other restrictions to have too many streams with p2p. Also you should look at the documentations of StreamManager, AudioPublisher/Subscriber and WebcamPublisher/Subscriber for better understandings of properties and events.
In case you are using player 10.1 swc, you can use p2p with multicast. However, player 10.1 is still kind of beta with no source files available. So, unless you have multicast requirements, player 10 swc is a better option for debugging.
    Hope this helps

  • I want to set up my router for Peer To Peer connection.

I recently started playing a new game that requires Peer to Peer connection, and I lag a lot when I log in, so I was wonder what options I would have to check, How to enable/disable options to optimize my gaming connection.
What kind of router I have is MI424-WR Rev. E Actiontec. Or something along that line.. I was researching what to do and it had a lot to do with DMZ, Ports, and firewall. But any help would be appreciated.
Im off for tonight so I wont be able to check the post until like 9 hours from now. Goodnight
Oh if you need to know what game it is for some odd reason its Dungeon Fighters Online, or http://dungeonfighter.nexon.net/
    I like arcade style games.
Oh and my brother connects to this router to and i want him to keep internet so none of the options can interfear with his internet connection.

I took a quick look at the www site for the game, but did not see anything definite from the vendor on what port(s) the game uses.
You would need to set up you gaming machine with a Static TCP/IP Address and configure the Verizon Router with Port Forwarding of the ports used by the game.  I would ONLY set it up in the DMZ if all else fails.
Note that the Verizon Router has a small NAT Table which may effect your ability to play a P2P game for extended periods of time.

  • T400 WiFi: Lenovo immediately connects, but Microsoft takes 60 seconds longer

    I'm running Win 7 on a T400 with an Intel 5300 card.
When I boot-up, the Lenovo Access Connections immediately connects to the WiFi network. However, the Microsoft wireless indicator in the notification panel indicates that I am not connected to the WiFi network. It takes almost 60 seconds for the Microsoft Win 7 indicator to show that I am connected. (I've confirmed the behavior by opening the Network Connection and Sharing Center.)
Why does the WiFi immediately connect in the Lenovo Access Connections but take much longer in the Win 7 Network Connection and Sharing Center? Shouldn't they work simultaneously?
    Thanks!!
    T400, X220

Good question.  I had to try it myself just now.  T400. 5300. Win 7 Pro 64.
I don't see that behavior.  The Windows wifi indicator takes a little longer while the tool tray is being populated, and does spin briefly, but not for 60 seconds.  I don't know what's happening during the time it takes me to log in.
Do you see the same thing with a different router?  Or are you using an access point with a router behind it?
It may be that the Lenovo wifi thingy lights up when the wifi radios are associated, but the Windows indicator doesn't show a connection until the DHCP address is assigned (and whatever else goes on) or fails.
[edit] it could even be an artifact of whatever network security you are running.
Just total speculation on my part,
    Z.

  • Creating Peer to Peer connections using intermediate server

I want to connect two clients (via TCP/IP sockets in Java). The clients can discover each other using an intermediate server. Once the clients discover each other, there should not be any involvement of the server.
I made some study about this and found many people suggesting JXTA. But I'd like to create the protocol myself from scratch (because in future I might have to implement the same using WebSockets as well (when my client is a Browser)). Currently, my clients can be Desktop applications or mobile applications.
    My questions are:
    1. How will clients discover each other at the server? If the server sends the global IP address of the clients to each other, will that information be enough to create a peer-to-peer connection? What if the clients are on the same LAN network and the server is on a different WAN?
    2. Client have dynamic IP address. Can their IP change all of a sudden even if it has an active socket?
    3. Is peer-to-peer connection is reliable for transfer of non-continuous data (like in chat application)?
[*NOTE*: by peer-to-peer connection I mean establishing a client-server TCP/IP socket connection by making one of the client as temporary socket-server]
    Thanks in advance.

two clients (via TCP/IP sockets in Java). The clients can discover each other using an intermediate server. If you only have 2 clients, it's hardly worth putting a server between them; a client 'discovering' the server is as much work as one client discovering the other.

    Unspecified error
I'm currently looking at the example code that comes with PC Connectivity SDK 3.0 using VB 6.0. Some of the programs work fine but if I use either Phonebook Settings, SMS Edit, SMS Settings and SMSeMail they will not work and will show the above error. After looking around the code and references for days, I came across that the reference name has PC suite 3.7 next to it, for example when using the 'Phonebook Settings' program and look at the references the name has 'Nokia Phonebook Adapter (Data Suite 3.7). Can you please tell me if this means I need to have PC Suite version 3.7 installed instead, as the latest version of PC Suite 6.70.22 does not support the reference used within this program. If this is true is there a newer .dll file to download and use or is there something else to use now?
Please can you help with this.
    Thank you in advanced,
    Pete.

  • How monitor the use of dial-peer (Connect Time)

How monitor multiple dial-peer (Connect Time) ??
When this reaches the defined time accumulated connected (example: Connect Time = 10000) shutdown the dial-peer.
    UC520#show dial-peer voice 2 | beg Connect
    Connect Time = 1430, Charged Units = 0,
    Successful Calls = 2, Failed Calls = 0, Incomplete Calls = 0
    Accepted Calls = 0, Refused Calls = 0,
Last Disconnect Cause is "10  ",
Last Disconnect Text is "normal call clearing (16)",
    Last Setup Time = 1445373634.
    Last Disconnect Time = 1445375144.
enable dial-peer in a day of the month date concurrently (example: Every day 15 of each month)
    commands used:
    clear statistics dial-peer voice 1
show dial-peer voice 1 | beg Connect Time
    Thanks
    Felix Guzman

This should be doable with an EEM policy.  If I understand you correctly you want to watch for connect time to reach 10000 when it does you want to shutdown the dial peer.
And then enable every 1th day of each month.
The first part you would do with a watchdog EEM policy which periodically runs and checks the output of the show dial-peer voice 2 command.
The second part you probably would use a second EEM script to trigger on a cron timer set for the 15th day of the month, and have it run the commands you mentioned.
    Thanks.

  • Can't connect in WEP/ Lenovo Access connections/ befw11s4 router

I am using a BEFW1154 router with Comcast Cable on a Windows XP platform with Lenovo Access connections to manage my wireless, and I can't get my router to work in the WEP encrypted mode. The router works perfectly well when it's not encrypted, and it also works when connected by Ethernet. I have updated the firmware (although I know this is an old router). On the router end, I have tried generating both a 64 and 128-bit key. My settings are all default otherwise, except for authentication in the "Wireless" tab, which I have changed to Shared. (It didn't work in Open or Both). In Access Connections, I have chosen "Static Wep" for Wireless security type, "Shared" for authentication method, and then entered either the 10 Hex for 64-bit encryption or 26 Hex for 128-bit encryption. Neither works! I've also tried pretending it's WPA-TSK, WPA2-TSK, WPA-AES and WPA2-AES also, for good measure, just in case. It says the authentication does not work, whatever I do. I've also tried just using plain old Windows to manage the connection, but that's not working either. This Thinkpad T42 and Access Connections connects successfully to networks all over the place, so it's definitely something I'm doing. I had to clone my MAC address in the router's interface to get it to work wirelessly initially, FYI. Don't know if this is related. I'm worried I'm doing something very simple wrong, like entering the WEP key incorrectly or not using 13 alphanumeric instead. Anyone with any insight here?
(Edited subject to keep threads from stretching. Thanks!)

Well try upgrading the firmware of the router & keep on holding tightly the reset button in such a way that power light is blinking on the router & then do a complete network power cycle i.e., unplug the power cables from the modem & from the router & then plug in the power cable to the modem first once all the lights are solid green you could plug in the power cable to the router & configure the router & check out it will definately work!!
    To do the wireless settings:-
Please access the setup page of the router by launching an Internet
Explorer and type on the address bar, 192.168.2.1 and press enter. When
it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field
empty and provide password as “admin "" all in lower cases and then
    click on ok.
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Here Wireless Network mode should be mixed
    - Provide any name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box, all in
lower cases without any spaces in between.
    - Set wireless channel to 11
    - And wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on save
    settings.
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the
    Network Identifier.
    For Wireless Security : -
Now Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security.
Change the Wireless security mode to WEP
    Encryption should be 64 bits.
Leave the Pass phrase blank, don't type in anything.
And under WEP Key 1 type in any 10 numbers please.
    Click on save settings.
Please make a note of WEP Key 1 as this is the Security Key for the
    Wireless Network.

  • SAP Plant Connectivity SDK 2.1 for download

    u2009Hello. Excellent info.
Please, we cant find SAP  Plant Connectivity SDK 2.1 for download. The note 1399331 - Plant Connectivity 2.1, says that we can download from:
https://service.sap.com/swdc ->Downloads -> SAP Installations & Upgrades -> Entry by Application Group -> Composite Application -> SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence -> Plant Connectivity SDK -> Plant Connectivity SDK 2.1 but this path is not correct.
    Please, can you help us?
    Thanks.

    PROPILCO

    Gustavo,
Yes it seems that the note is wrong. I will contact the author and let them know. To find it go to .../sdwc > Search All Categories > copy and paste "Plant Connectivity SDK 2.1" in the field > click the link for Installation product > click the download tab.
    That should do the trick
    Regards,
    Kevin

  • Ethernet peer to peer connection?

Can anyone help me with setting up a peer to peer connection via ethernet cable? I am attempting to hook up a security DVR system (QS 408) for remote viewing on the Mac Pro. Is this possible without a router? Any help would be much appreciated!

Use a crossover cable. Assuming you have no other connections, they should talk to each other.

  • Lenovo Access Connections Program Dead

Hi, and thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I'm running Vista Business on a T500.  I've always used the Lenovo Access Connections program to switch wifi locations.  Access Connections now doesn't appear to work.  The program opens normally but there is now (hadn't noticed it before) a location profile named "Windows Wireless Service," and when I click the "Find" button Access Connections doesn't find anything the list and graphic screen show no networks even if there are a dozen WiFi routers.
When I FnF5 the Wireless Radio window opens indicating that my Bluetooth is "on" and the 802.11 is "off."  If I click the "Power On" button nothing happens.
But my internet works normally and it's even switching WiFi locations automatically!  Somehow the machine has switched to using the Windows WiFi manager - the only thing I can think of that could have precipitated this is that I plugged into my work ethernet.  First time in about a year that I've done this and these problems with Access Connection seemed to start shortly after that (no indication at the time - Access Connections seemed to work).
If I go Control Panel > Network & Sharing > Connect to a Network I see a "find" window similar to the Access Connections list, but on this Windows program the routers are all "found."  I see in a few places that two network connection managers can't be running at the same time.  I tried turning off the service "WLAN AutoConfig" but that did not allow Access Connections to run.  Maybe I didn't shut off the right thing or maybe I didn't turn it off correctly.  Since Access Connections doesn't work I turned WLAN AutoConfig back on, but it would be nice to have Access Connections functioning.  I've looked everywhere and can't find an answer.  Any suggestions appreciated!
                                                                                  Ben

I have Access Connections working in Windows 7 and had it working in Vista before that. I use it to change between wireless connections as well.
If you want it working, try the following:
    1. Document your profiles (SSID, WEP or WPA, security key) in a small Notepad file.
    2. Download the latest copy (5.85 if I remember correctly).
    3. Uninstall Access Connections. When it asks, delete the profiles as part of the uninstall.
    4. Go to Windows Wireless Manager. Delete any left over profiles in it.
    5. Restart.
    6. Install Access Connections (use a wired connection first if you can).
    7. Now install the first wireless connection and ensure that it works.
    8. Assuming so, install the remaining wireless profiles.
    Good luck.

  • UML295 and Lenovo X1 connectivity issues

I have a UML295 and I'm attempting to use it with Lenovo's X1 Carbon (Model 20A) and I'm having some serious issues.  Well, my end user is.  After a restart, card is inserted and works perfectly.  I don't need to open up the MBB software, anything.  If I disconnect or just remove the device and wait a few minutes to plug it back in, it doesn't' work.  Indicator light turns green, flickers, etc.  No internet.  I open up the MBB software and shows I'm connected but doesn't go anywhere, or the software doesn't recognize that the card has been inserted.  It displays this behavior on multiple X1 Carbon machines that I have here.  I've tested it on an older T530 Thinkpad and it works as intended.  No need to install the MBB software neither.  As soon as the indicator light turns green, I'm good to go on internet access.
Is there a firmware update or a known issue between these cards and the X1 Carbon?  It's frustrating to our reporters that they can't use their new laptops out in the field.
    Thank you

USB modem devices need both drivers and connection software to facilitate a connection to the VZW network.  I suggest going out and downloading the latest of both from VZW and retesting on your machine.
    UML295 download:
    http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-72600/
Otherwise the problem that you mentioned here is specifically resolved by use of a Jetpack.  No drivers, no software.  All users need is normal WiFi and they will be able to access the internet just like at any other hotspot.  This was a big advantage for us in addition to the reduced hardware costs of broken USB ports on laptops and USB modems.

  • How to make a peer to peer connection in a network using sockets

My Project is about a multi agent meeting scheduling system.. I've kept the DB in the server and I only use the server to retrieve data from the database. I have used sockets to communicate with the server.
Each peer in the network is an agent for a perticular user and these agents will be communicating with each other for negotiation purposes..
The problem I have is that, I couldnt communicate wit other peers using sockets.. I couldnt find any sample java code of sockets to overcum this problem.f sumone has a sample code plz send me.
And if there is a more efficient and easy way I can connect these peers except sockets, plz tell me and if u have a sample java code plz be kind enough to send.
This is my final year project in the University
    Thank you

    Hi Sajinidesilva,
I think you'll find more support in the [JXTA Community|https://jxta.dev.java.net/] for your project. Also, there's an interesting article to start with : [Introduction to the Peer-to-Peer Sockets Project|http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/2003/12/03/p2psockets.html].

  • Lenovo monitor connected to Mac mini

I have a Lenovo LI2223s monitor connected to Mac mini - and works fine when from full start up.  But when has been in 'sleep' mode overnight, does not display any longer upon wake-up.  Is there something I can do to correct this problem? (waking the monitor does bring up a very very dim light there somewhere - but general appearance of monitor is blank - mini is no longer sleeping)
