Lenovo rescue system stuck at 99%

Ive had to cancel the process due to the above. It got stuck on 99% for more than 20 minutes?
I noticed there is lenovo OkR folder( hidden within the C drive) with wsi.files and a load of back up ones?
Does that mean it was succesful? How can i check?
How can i overwrite this and do it again?
Im new to Lenovo. Thanks for any advice

I have the same problem exactly as you do. I will try to follow exactly what you've done. Mine is just a C320 500GSATA

    hi!
    yesterday i ran Kaspersky virus scan tool and it detect file named "tvtfilter.sys" as suspicious file and thefore delet it.
    today when i was restart my laptop, i got error message on startup that say:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! "C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Rescue and Recovery\rrservice.exe"  abnormal program termination.
    after some google search i've understand that "tvtfilter.sys" was critical file of "Rescue And Recovery" system.
    so, any one with "Rescue And Recovery" running on his laptop can upload for me this file?
    it's located in "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DIRVERS\" and it's name is "tvtfilter.sys"
    thank you!
    BTW, ive tried to re-install it but it wont let me because of some error message

    Hi eitrnel,
    Just a thought: give a try to un-intsall the Rescue and Recovery from the Control Panel first before re-installing it.

  • Onekey Rescue System Failed-3000 system G430.

    Hi there,
    My G430/Vista can operate Onekey Rescue System..(i had done this before and it's fine) but after format the hard drive.
    my G430 cant run the system/program with suppose to show window logo on startup. evertime i restart my laptop it's still same.. just shown black screen with _???
    why this happen?? and how can i recover or get back the recovery image? .wsi file??
    and i try to install win xp but blue screen come up when window starting??
    somebody please help me...

    OneKey is a system set up in your S10's hard drive specifically for recovering your operating system in case of corruption. You're laptop includes a NOVO button, which when the laptop is off it boots into a hidden partition which enables you to recover to the factory form [as when you bought it]. You must not modify partition sizes otherwise you may lose this function. There is a download on Lenovo's website which allows you to install OneKey 6.0 on Windows Vista. This allows you to create a backup for your operating system in it's current state. You can uninstall all the bloat, install additional software [i.e. Microsoft Office, Nero] and then create a backup image which you can use for recovery.

  • Help with Lenovo Rescue and Recovery 4.31

    Hello,
    I work for a company that uses Ghost images for deploying laptops. We have recently decided to try the Lenovo Rescue and Recovery software built in with the new T520s when doing our local backup before sending the laptop out to the user.
    What we decided to try is building the base image, creating the backup locally on the computer using R&R, dumping the image to our server using Ghost and then imaging other laptops with that image.
    Our reasoning for creating the local backup first, is that time is not that big of an issue when creating the initial image, and neither is imaging other laptops because we create spares that we have built and ready to go out. What we would then do is apply any updates since the laptop was imaged, and have R&R create an incremental backup again, which would only take a few minutes and the laptop would be ready to ship.
    Upon using this method, we have found that you cannot view the original first backup created in R&R on a laptop that it was not created with. The backup content is there, as the drive space is used and booting into a DOS prompt and browsing the C:\RRbackups\SZ\<UID>\ folder shows the data.
    What I'm looking to know is how the R&R software generates that UID, and if anything can be done to allow the other laptops to recognize, whether it's rename the folder with a UID that the new laptop is going to use, or if it's something within the software files that's changable. Or even the registry.
    Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
    Thanks!

    kylejg, welcome to the forum,
    R&R is a little system specific. How many systems are you expecting to deploy using the method you describe?
    It might be worth taking a look at the "Big Brother" of R&R namely Image Ultra Builder as it should be able to, with ease, realise exactly that which you are aiming for.

  • T61 Lenovo Rescue and Recovery BSOD

    Hi,
    I've got a problem booting into the Lenovo Rescue and Recovery partition.
    System is a T61 (64665DG) with Rescue and Recovery 4.21.1016.00
    I receive the following BSOD message:
    A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage.
    If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
    Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.
    Technical information:
    ***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D6528,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)
    It seems to be a problem with the AHCI controller not being supported. When I switch the SATA Controller Mode from AHCI to Compatibility in the BIOS it then successfully boots into the Rescue and Recovery environment.
    Why is it missing the correct AHCI driver? It used to work fine with the older version of Rescue and Recovery in AHCI mode. Is there a fix available for the Rescue and Recovery software to allow you to run it without having to put the SATA controller in AHCI mode?
    -Indie
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks both for your replies. The inability for it to boot the Rescue and Recovery partition in AHCI mode persuaded me to examine the contents of the partition for anything obvious amiss. Using Linux I was able to mount the FAT partition and have a nose around. In the /minint/system32 directory it's got a number of sub-directories for the Intel Iastor driver - that used to access the HD in AHCI mode. I couldn't find any reference to that in txtsetup.sif and the winpeoem.sif file was empty. After some Googling I found out that you can easily load additional mass storage drivers using winpeoem.sif.
    IBM have a program called rrutil.exe that allows you to access the RnR partition from within Windows, it's part of the Rescue and Recovery Administrator Tools.
    To modify winpeoem.sif first install the RnR admin tools and open a command prompt window in the install location - C:\SWTOOLS\TOOLS\Z652_Admin016. Make sure the C:\Temp directory exists and is EMPTY - this is very important. You then need to create a "getlist.txt" file:
    echo \minint\system32\winpeoem.sif > getlist.txt
    retrieve the file from the RnR partition
    rrutil.exe -g getlist.txt C:\Temp
     type
    notepad C:\Temp\minint\system32\winpeoem.sif
    and paste in
    [Version]
    signature="$Windows NT$"
    [OemDriverParams]
    OemDriverRoot=""
    OemDriverDirs=IASTOR
     upload the changes with (this will write everything from Temp to the RnR partition!)
    rrutil.exe -p C:\Temp
    Or you could just modify /minint/system32/winpeoem.sif directly in Linux without messing about with the rrutil.exe.
    With this small modification to winpeoem.sif I was able to successfully boot into the Lenovo Rescue and Recovery partition with AHCI mode enabled. I haven't tried reinstalling windows xp with this fix.

  • Wireless connection not working after installed newest Lenovo ThinkVantage System Update programs

    Hi, everyone!
    I've installed some newest programs through Lenovo ThinkVantage System Update and just after that my wireless connection has stopped working. Here are the installed programs:
    ThinkPad UltraNav Driver for Windows 32-bit version 15.0.24.0;
    ThinkPad Power Management Driver version 1.60;
    ThinkPad Modem Adapter version 7.80.8.0;
    ThinkPad Hotkey Features Integration Package Setup version 3.11.0001;
    Inter Wireless WiFi Link for Window XP version 13.02.0000;
    ThinkVantage Access Connections for Windows XP version 5.62;
    ThinkPad Power Manager version 1.88;
    Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox (32-bit) version 6.0.5514.61.
    I've got a Lenovo T61 with Windows XP SP3.
    Also in Device Manager, there are now the two "Other devices" bellow with a yellow question point and a yellow exclamation point by side:
    Bluetooth Hands-free Audio;
    Bluetooth LAN Access Server Driver.
    Does anyone have any idea what can be done to have these issues solved?
    P.S.: when I click Fn+F5 it shows only the Bluetooth Radio.

    Hello and welcome,
    I've seen something like this on XP machines after updates a couple of times now - my T61, a friend's T400, and his daughter's T61.  I guess that makes 3
    _Maybe_  your situation is the same.
    The fix in all 3 cases was to go to device manager and uninstall the wifi driver.  Then scan for hardware changes and let it reinstall the driver.  Something about how Access Connections or some other networking mangement thingy was hooking the drivers I guess.
    On both of the friend's machines, the wired networking was also b0rked.  Same fix there.

  • G580 - OneKey Rescue System

    Hello,
    I bought my G580 1 month ago and installed my own version of Windows 7 (Ultimate x64) and accidentally deleted the OneKey Rescue System partition.
    That's not the tragic part but everytime I put my notebook to sleep and wake it up afterwards it just freezes.
    That means the screen is black, webcam light is on and stays on and hard drive is rotating.
    I always have to hold down the power button till the notebook goes out.
    So my question:
    Anybody got a OneKey Rescue System.iso for me or a working backup like it was when you first bought it?

    three months back I bought a new battery for my lenovo G450 laptop.Initially it was working well and now it's not get charged Stucks @0%,,,,,plz suggest me a solution for this

    hi paranthaman,
    You mentioned that you purchased a new battery for the G450 system. To replace this battery, you will need to contact the person or the store that sold you this battery (eg. If you purchased it from Amazon.com, you will need to contact Amazon) as the battery can only be replaced from the place of purchase.

  • Rescue & Recovery, stuck at 0%

    Dear All,
    I am running T61 with Vista (with SP1). And, I am having hard times with getting Rescue and Recovery (ver4, updated through Thinkvantage Update system) to work.
    After setting preferences and clicking "OK the progress bar stays at 0% and the message of "A backup of your system is now in progress. Do not power off during this process" stays on the window.
    I have tried to backup on external HDD, on another partition, etc. No progress. I have rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled, etc.
    As I am business users considering my data highly valuable, I would like to get it working. Conflicts with Diskeeper? With Symantec Endpoint Protection? Any ideas?
    Thank you in advance,
    Tarmo

    Great idea!  Where did you get v. 4.1, as it is no longer posted on the Lenovo website?
    Based on the number of posts concerning v. 4.2 and Vista SP1, it would appear that the failure of v. 4.2 to install is a "known issue."  How can it be that Lenovo keeps v. 4.2 on its website and forces its customers to waste countless hours trying to force v. 4.2 to install?  Very poor customer relations.
    I phoned customer support and a know-nothing told me that I should reimage the HD on my T60.  I told the idiot that I did not have three days to devote to his nonsensical, uninformed suggestion.

  • LENOVO G50-30 stuck at lenovo logo and cant even enter bios

    Hello
    I yust got my lenovo G50-30 and wanted to install win 7 on it. after the first BsoD I went to bios and changed the AHCI to legacy mode. Got the same BsoD.  After that I changed the Os mode from win 8 to win 7 ... loaded the factory default settings and putted from AHCI to legacy mode again.
    After that the laptop turns on, but it stucks at lenovo logo. I cant access the bios anymore to make any other changes. If I insert a win7 instalation disc, it start to spin but with no sucess. also cant acess the boot options anymore.
    Any help greatly apreciated

    I suggest removing battery and AC, holding the power button for more than 15 seconds to reset the BIOS back to default settings then see if the issue remains.
    Make sure to post the results.
    Good luck.

  • System stuck formatting dual-layer DVD

    I'm trying to format a dual-layer DVD but my system gets stuck in the very beginning "Writing image..." part of the formatting process (I waited at least an hour). If I click cancel, I get the warning:
    "Stopping now may produce an unreliable disc...operation is not complete".
    When I choose to Stop formatting, I get the pinwheel, force quit does not work properly and I have to Restart computer.
    I've got DVDSP set to:
    • Dual layer
    • OTP
    • a DL breakpoint that DVDSP OK'd (in black after building the disc) in the Break Point pull down options
    • Seamless not checked
    • and Lossless Linking not checked
    DVDSP says current disc volume is 6.7GB, 5.9 of which is my movie and the rest are menu assets.
    I'm burning to an external DiscMakers Reflex duplicator using a MAM-A DL DVD+R disc. DVDSP has been able to successfully recognize burner.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    I experienced exactly the same problem recently twice in succession when I tried to burn to Verbatim DVD+R DL disks. After running two Verbatim disks in DVDSP 4, I gave up on DVDSP 4 for burning DVD + R DL disks and went to Toast 8 and burned and verified the disks with no problems. While some people are apparently able to burn DL disks successfully in DVDSP 4, I have not been able to. The fact that Toast 8 burned to the same VErbatim DVD+R DL disks that had failed in DVDSP 4 seems to me to point clearly to a problem with burning DL disks in DVDSP 4.

  • [SOLVED] System stuck on suspend/shutdown

    Hi guys,
    I recently set up a new system with Arch Linux, and everything's working perfectly fine - except for one thing: When shutting the computer down, the system gets all the way to the end of the shutdown cycle and displays "Rebooting" - and just stays there, the computer doesn't turn off (even after almost an hour, no change). It does tell me just before that, that it failed to unmount /oldroot/dev, however, it claims to be ignoring that problem...? And everytime, just before it unmounts (or tries to at least) all the /oldroot/ stuff, it gets stuck shortly while trying to terminate some "tee" process (it eventually sends a SIGKILL signal and proceeds shortly after).
    Could this maybe cause some problem when powering off? Because also when I try to suspend my system, the screen turns blank (with a blinking cursor in the top left), and shortly after it displays the message "Freezing of tasks failed after 20.005 seconds (3 tasks refusing to freeze, wq_busy=0)" and goes back to my desktop. Using dmesg, I found that, again, "tee" is the process causing problems. When I list all running processes, it displays 3 of these "tee" processes, and under CPU% it says "disk sleep" for all of them...
    Here is an extract of dmesg that displays the suspend/freezing problem:

    My system:
    Linux keineeile 3.16.3-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Sep 17 21:54:13 CEST 2014 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    I'm using KDE as my DE, should that matter at all... I don't have laptop-mode-tools or pm-utils installed, but I do have the powerdown scripts (though they don't seem to be working right now for me - but one thing after the other).
    Any help in solving this issue(s) is very much appreciated!!
    Kindest Regards

    Well, I tried it both ways, suspending from KDE and from the command line using "systemctl suspend" and "echo mem > /sys/power/state", it all produces the same result.
    However, I think I have stumbled upon something in lspci:
    # lspci | grep 01:00.1
    pcilib: Cannot open /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:01:00.1/config
    lspci: Unable to read the standard configuration space header of device 0000:01:00.1
    There exists a device 01:00.0, though. This is my discrete radeon graphics card. Maybe it's connected to the following (?):
    My laptop comes with an Intel graphics chip and a radeon graphics card. I want to use the Intel chip for powersaving and for having a cooler laptop. However, the DynPwr feature of the newest kernel (I think it was introduced in 3.15?) doesn't seem to work for me, my laptop just gets really hot. Plus the system kept freezing randomly (in such a way that I had to force turn off the laptop), which according to what I found online had something to do with NetworkManager and my radeon graphics card (I don't really understand how that's possible though). So what I did: In Grub I added "radeon.runpm=0" to the kernel line and upon logging in to KDE, I automatically execute:
    echo OFF > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
    sleep 2
    systemctl start NetworkManager
    Since then I have no troubles with my laptop overheating and my system isn't freezing anymore. Since I did all that right as I set up a new system, I'm not completely sure if that's related to the laptop not suspending/shutting down anymore or not (I'll go ahead now and try reversing it and see if it works then)...
    Oh, and I'm unable to remove the three "tee" processes in any way. I can't kill them, terminate them, nothing, they simply stay there...
