LENOVO S 400 install Centos 6.4

Hello,
I bought S400 almost two months ago from the distributor (Lenovo S400, Core i3, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, color Silver gray).
I install WIN 7, 64bit.. Its fine nothing problem come to me.
Last week, I install CentOS 6.4.
My problem now, is the touch pad and right click button.
1. Touch pad, is not accurate when your navigating to the folder or any axis in your desktop screen.
2. My Righ click button in the touch pad, is not working, if I press righ click, it's like a left click command, or if you right click on icon in the centos desktop, Its high-lighted. So in my own opinion, my right-click is not functioning, but when I try my external mouse like a wireless mose or wired usb mouse, nothing problem to me. Its accurate and right / left click in good functions.
any one can help with my problem?
thanks

any board can help my problem.
thanks.

  • Did Lenovo forget to install the Bluetooth modem in my T60

    Hello everyone,
I have a T60, and according to the model #, it has bluetooth.
However, when I use the Fn+F5 key....it only shows the wireless internet card....no bluetooth option. There is no bluetooth icon in the control panel and the little LED icons below the monitor don't show a Bluetooth logo (like my T61 does).
Does this T60 have bluetooth and it's just not activated, or did Lenovo forget to install it?
    The model # is 2007-75U
I have tried installing drivers from the Lenovo website and it still can't find any Bluetooth hardware.
    Thanks,
    Pacman

As you are going to be swapping out the keyboard, acording to your post here, you will be able to have a look to see if a BT card is installed. Instructions on how to remove the keyboard are found here.

  • T430 unable to sleep with Lenovo Power Manager installed

I have a T430 with Windows 8 installed with the latest BIOS and Lenovo Power Manager installed, and anytime I try to put the computer to sleep(with Fn+F4 or lid close), the laptop enters a stage where the screen is black and the fan continues to run. There's no way to interact/escape this except for holding down the power button.
After uninstalling Lenovo Power Manager, the sleep function works again, but the Mic Mute and caps-lock on screen display stop working in addition to the LED in the MicMute refusing to light up.
Is there any fix to this?

I'm having the same problem. I've tried all the updates and still have the problem. Sometimes it will sleep, other times it won't. Sometimes when it is trying to sleep I get a bluescreen for "DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE."

  • Install centOS (linux) on mbp

I need to install centOS on my mbp for some reason
and are wondering if there's anything special i need to know and think about while doing it.
As I understand it bootcamp is "made" for installing windows but it's possible to install any linux distro..
Any one caring to walk me through?
    Running 10.6.8
    Thanx

As I need to run it natively i have partitioned up my hardrive.
Now when i boot from the installation disk (centOS)
and get to the partitioning there i get a bit jumpy.
If you have an entire disk which you're going to use, fine.
But hee I just want to use my new partition.
Ther's a choise that lets you use all of the free space, sure, but does it use al of the spavce on the entire disk? Cuz i don't want to get rid of the space on my mac os partition.
Is there any way i can use the automatic partitioning on all of the space in just that partition i want to use?
    Feeling confused.. And rather dumb..

  • Lenovo Helix - Clean Install of Windows 8.1 - Best way to load Software and Drivers

I am considering doing a clean install of the Windows 8.1 operating system on my Lenovo Helix.  What I am wondering is if (After I install the operating system) there is an easy way to get all teh lenovo drivers and software loaded without having to download/install each of them one at a time?
If not, is there a specific set or order from which they should be installed?
Is there anything I would lose by doing a clean install of 8.1?
    Thanks....

    Sarbin,
I only have one device issue that has popped up.  My keyboard has begun to work somewhat wonky.  Sometimes if I am in tablet mode then switch to keyboard mode the keyboard doesn't respond.  It will only respond after several reboots/shutdowns.  Is there a good way to make Lenovo System Update reinstall the keyboard drivers?  If you have any advice on fixing this issue that would be great.
I also thought I was going to lose all teh Lenovo specific apps when I did a clean install.  I didn't.  The only one I don't see is one which was called "Lenovo Experience".  It was nice but if that is all I lost then I am ok with it.
I love this computer.  Now it feels like new again....
    You're welcome.
Some things I prefer to install manually, outside of TVSU. BIOS and firmware are good examples. Have a look through the driver listing for the keyboard/dock update and scan the readme. The behavior you're seeing may be part of that fix.
Looking at one of my Win8 OEM-preload machines, the Lenovo Experience shortcut points at "dxpserver.exe". Maybe that info will help pinpoint if there's an installer for the complete package.
    Hope this helps.

  • What drivers do i need to install on my Lenovo Y530 after installing Windows 7???

I just installed Windows 7 on my new Lenovo Y530 and want to know what drivers need to be installed. A few problems is the surround sound speakers, the laptop had amazing sound before i put 7 on it and now the speakers aren't working together.
Also the Veriface login isnt working, does anyone know how to connect it properly??
Also what other drivers need to be re-installed to bring it back to full functionality???
    thanks for all the help

You're using the MS .NET Framework Provider for Oracle. You will need to install the Oracle client on each client machine using a Windows Form to access Oracle.
You will also need to include the MS .NET Framework Provider for Oracle. I can't remember if MS includes it with .NET Framework or not, however.

  • Lenovo G50-45 Install W7 UEFI

    Dear All,
Firstly, sorry for my English and thank you in advance for your assistance with my problem.
I recently purchased a G50-45 80e3 model and want to create a dual boot windows 8.1 bing and windows 7 (SP1 64bits UEFI MSDN). The problem is that windows 7 hang up (freeze) at “Starting Windows” screen.
For information, the bios is configured as:
    - Secure boot (disabled)
    - UEFI (enable). I do not want install Windows 7 in Legacy mode!
    - I don' have "CSM Boot" view???
I check this on the internet and the solution is installing windows 7 in legacy mode :-(
The strangest thing of all that I have a 1.07 bios version?? The last bios version in the web site Lenovo is 1.06?
    Do you have any idea??
    Many Thanks

    hi KasiD,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
In the BIOS, can you try and set this setting:
    Exit Tab:
OS Optimized Defaults = Other OS
     - Link to picture
Let me know how it goes.

    Need help!!!!
Installed recovery OS from the Lenovo DVD's shipped to me and Roxio or IBM recordnow didn't get included in the install. Was hoping not to have to request another set of recover software from Lenovo.
They have an FTP site with updates etc. was wondering if anyone had the link to get to the Roxio software that i am missing for Vista 64 bit. Thankyou

If you have received recovery discs for Vista X64 I presume you have a T61 as you are posting in the T board.
Have you an entry in Start > Programs called Multimedis Center? This is where the Roxio software should be.

  • X1 Carbon wont wake up on time after Lenovo PM Driver installed (windows 8)

    Hello!
Recently I have installed latest Lenovo PM Driver on my X1 Carbon 34xx series.
I use Task Scheduler to wake up my pc on certain time (from stand by)
After I have installed latest Lenovo PM Driver, PC wont wake up.
    1. I did not touch anything in my task in Task Scheduler. However, I checked it.
    Task runs from ADMIN account.
Runs whether user loged on or not - checked
    Highest priviledges - checked
wake the computer to run this task - checked
    2. In windows Power Options "Wake up timers" are ENABLED for ALL power plans (on battery/ac power).
    Hibernation is disabled, only standby
    3. When I run
    POWERCFG /WAKETIMERS
it SHOWS scheduled wake timer correctly!!!!!!!!!!!!
But computer does not wake up on time....
How can I fix this problem?
    Thanks!

In fact I am not absolutely sure that PM Driver is causing this proble, because recently I have updated at the same time:
    1. BIOS
    2. Chipset Drivers
    3. PM Driver
(all the latest versions from lenovo site)
And after these updates, wake up function stopped working... (
May be the "resume on RTC alarm" was suddenly disabled somewhere in BIOS?  How can I get it back? (lenovo BIOS is very limited, it has no such option). I also have tried to "Load BIOS defaults" - but no success...

  • Lenovo T-400 series thinkpad. Mouse on the laptop does not respond after coming out of hibernation.

I have just received the new T-400 series Laptop. In few days I have observed twice that when the laptop comes out of hibernation the mouse stops responding. On both occasions I was forced to restart it.
Has anyone else experienced the same and most importantly can anyone let me know how to fix it?
    Thanks

why did you mark this as an answer?  you didn't provide any solution to this.  the link you posted clearly states that the keyboard is compatible here:
    http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/32427/session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xMzU1MjY2Nzk0L3NpZC82VXlYWHZkbA%3D%3D
futhermore logitech themselves state the following:
NOTE: Logitech mice and keyboards are Human Interface Devices (HID). HID drivers are native to modern Windows operating systems, enabling basic functionality without the need for other software. To use enhanced features,
such as programming keys and buttons, additional software may be required. See the product's Support page > Downloads tab for software availability.
the keyboard should work regardless of any additional drivers from logitech.  that being said, i have installed all the latest drivers and the keyboard is still unresponsive when it comes back from standby.  this is obviously some sort of an OS
    problem.

  • Lenovo Solution Center install problem - Error 1721

Hello, I'm trying to install Lenovo Solution Center to my computer again, after not properly uninstalling it. I simply deleted the files and repaired the registry thinking that it would be fine, and it is not.
I'm getting the Error 1721 upon installing, installer tries to execute 'KillProcessLSC.exe' under Lenovo Solution Center folder and it cannot, since I deleted them. I need the files under Lenovo Solution Center folder so I can make the installer pass the 'Killing LSC' step, or at least think it passed.
I got the idea to fixing it from this post. The guy restored the files from Recycle Bin and installer worked just fine. Since I already cleared my Recycle Bin and I did this over a year ago I cannot get the files from recycling. I simply need the files so I can make the installer execute the program it wants and passes that step that I get stuck on. If any other solution is available I'm free to try it, otherwise I'm pretty much sure putting the files in the Lenovo Solution Center folder will fix it. Thanks.

    @bl8demast3r,
    Your post 1 stated:
Whenever I try to run the hardware scan I get the error:
"Lenovo Solution Center service is not available. Please restart the application, or reboot your computer if the problem persists."
Your later post mentioned Scheduled scan, I assume LSC hardware scan.
    ===
Lsc during the last year has had issues where LSC software fails during a  manual run of hardware scan. Symptoms include Lsc service not available. You have the latest version of LSC.  Monitor what you see and post back if the "service not available"  screen shows up. Describe if this hardware scan was done manualy or a result of the scheduled monhtly run.

  • Installing centos over arch?

almost feels wrong posting the question here, but arch is my home!  [zealot]ARCH FOR THE WIN![/zealot]
anyways, in the coming months i think i may be moving to the big city, which means i'll be leaving my current job.  it's currently running arch and is doing a whole bunch of stuff hosting apache, subversion, and samba, standard stuff.
the problem is that i'm the only one at the company who is linux saavy enough to manage the server.  so in my absence i think it would be the responsible thing to do by replacing it with CentOS, because it's free, has long time support if they ever need it, and it has GUI tools for configuration.
now the actual situation...what's the safe way to install over my pre-existing install?  i have a whole bunch of stuff in scripts and /var/www and stuff like that that i don't wanna have to reinstall.
i was thinking of doing something like this:
    - boot into liveCD
    - move / into /arch or something like that
    - run the CentOS installer and instead of formatting, mount and install
    - make sure everything still works
    sound like a viable plan?

yeah, backup is a must of course
unfortunately, the centos installer crashed on my virtualbox pc when i tried to mount pre-existing LVM partitions :'(
so i might have to do the whole wipe everything out after all, which i wanted to avoid because that would take the most time.
but i gotta say, all the configuration tools almost makes things too easy.  i remember struggling to get winbind and ADS working over samba, and while i have a good understand of doing all the text configuration now, i didn't realize on RHE you just click "use winbind" and click OK.

  • Swichable Grafics driver 8.752.4-101022a-107489C-lenovo does not install properly

    Hi!
I was very happy to see that lenovo finally got us a renewed driver for those of us with swichable grafics.
I thought, that finally all the swiching after sleep, etc would be over, but the driver is not propperly excepted!
I initially installed the driver through system update, than i tried manual upgrade.
after that I tried uninstalling the old driver and installing the new driver.... no result as well.
Does anyone experience the same? I would be very thankful for a solution!
    My System: w500 - 4063-A45

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-73641

I found a workaround -  it is to manually install the driver and the ccc, but this way it seems to me, that the original problem what the update was designed for (high power consumtion after sleep) ist still there

  • Lenovo v470 - clean install of Windows 7 with Anytime Upgrade

    hi
i just purchased a Lenovo Ideapad V470, and I would like to reinstall the operating system before setting it up.  I hate bloatware, and I would much prefer to start with a new, simple machine.  I purchased the Windows 7 Professional Anytime upgrade, and I'm not sure how to go about this since I am used to having disks, not cards with codes and all that.
I have an OEM copy of a Windows 7 Professional (that I am using for a different computer), but since the Lenovo came loaded with Windows 7 Home, will I be able to use the disk to install Windows 7?  Does the anytime upgrade function as a product key, so I can just type in the product key when i get to that screen?  Is it okay to use any disk that has Windows 7 Professional, since I purchased a unique product key?
    Thanks!

Yes you can complete this task.
First you will insert the OEM disk you have for Windows 7 Pro and go through the regular install process. When it comes time for the product key, now this is the important step, click the "Skip" button. Complete the install like regular.
Once you are in windows, right-click on Computer and select Properties. Scroll to the bottom of the System Properites window and click the Change Product Key link. Here you will enter the key you purchased and can complete the setup process. Enjoy
