Lenovo S10-3t Part of the touchscreen not Working

Hi,
I have lenovo s10-3t with win 7 home premium. Recently I found out that part of my touch screen is not working. I tried calibrating and resetting the calibration data, but no success in getting the touch screen working correctly. Then I reinstalled the intel graphics drivers. The touch screen started working correctly. After  one day the issue has resurfaced. Have no idea what is wrong. (to depit the dehaviour I have added a paint screenhot, the area highlighted with red oval, is where touch screen is not working)

Certain parts of the touchscreen don't respond

    Fixed.
The wheel needs to be flush with the metal jacket in order to have room for the clicker to depress. One side of the wheel was stuck under the jacket. A fairly sharp whack against my palm with the edge of the wheel that was working momentarily pulled the depressed side of the wheel from under the jacket and allowed it to pop out flush.

  • Do you have an issue with the touchscreen not working when cold?

I just got an iPhone 5 64GB White and noticed that when I ran with it outside today, in about 50 degree weather, the phone's touchscreen stopped responding. Basically I couldn't swipe to unlock. I also noticed when I put the phone on my kitchen granite countertop which is pretty cool, the phone does not recognize my touch on the screen. Was wondering if anyone else is having this issue.

I noticed a problem with the touchscreen at cooler temperatures as well - even at about 60 degrees, it stopped responding to touch in part or all of the screen.  It took a while to figure out, but your post helped me - thank you.
I took the phone in to the Genius bar, was able to reproduce the problem (I'd let the phone sit near my car's air conditioner on the way there - heh), and they replaced it without argument.  The new phone does not have the same problem.
This is the first Apple device I've had to replace for a defect, and I'm impressed.  I hadn't purchased any of their Apple care or any insurance but it was free and took all of 15 minutes.

  • Bottom part ipod touch touchscreen not working

    Hello,
I know that there are a lot of topics about this but they doesn't match mine.
I have a ipod touch 3th gen and suddenly my screen acts weird. When I press one place he thinks it is somewhere else,
I then turned it on and off and know the bottom part of my screen isn't responding.
I can slide to unlock, but after that I can't press anymore, when I'm in the homescreen and I swipe from left to right on the bottom icons
my screen slides to the next page, but on the wrong side (so I slide to the left, he goes right)
Does anybody know a sollution? Replace the screen isn't a option because he's old and I tried a soft reset etc.

    Try:
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • B14-178sa touchscreen not working

Hi there, I have been tearing my hair out these last few days trying to get the touch screen working on a TouchSmart b14-178sa.
The old screen was burnt out (you could see the damage to the touch sensors), so I replaced the screen with an identical model.
The old screen wasn't even showing in the device manager, the new one is showing, indicated by the red arrows in the following screenshot.
I thought Windows 8.1 might be the issue so I downgraded back to Windows 8 and installed all the software/drivers from the product support page.
I also installed all Windows updates, the touch did not work from start to finish.
I have tried the steps outlined on a support page here.
Pen and touch is not available in control panel.
Despite the touchscreen showing in device manager, system properties says no touch available.
I have tried the AUO firmware update, which tries for a few minutes then just exits and fails.
Here is a screenshot from the update:
Any suggestions you may have which might help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Cracked screen, touchscreen not working, need to backup. Help?

    Hola,
I dropped my iPhone 3G and broke the screen ... AGAIN ... in a comical addition to what has been a bad week of epic proportions.
Anyways, I have a passcode on the phone, but with the touchscreen not working, I can't enter it. Therefore I can't get iTunes to back up the phone. The screen is cracked but displays fine, but touch input is broken.
Is there any way to enter the passcode to iTunes and have it unlock the phone? Anything I can do at all? No MobileMe, not jailbroken, etc.
    Thanks.

Unless you can enter the passcode directly on the phone, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

I have searched the forums and found that other members of the HP Pavilion Touchsmart family had the same issues, but their solutions have not solved the problem with my specific PC. • Hp split x2 touchscreen not working while un-docking

hello hp support, i've recently bought a hp split x2 13-110dx. my touchscreen stops working whenever i detach the screen (tablet) from the keyboard (docking station). if i try to safely remove "Docking Station", first nothing happens and then after about 10 seconds all controls (touchscreen and touchpad) othen the keyboard itself stops responding. a reset allways solves this problem but that means that now i allways have to reset after every undocking. also, if the tablet is working fine, and i dock the tablet, again the touckscreen stops responding (again, reset required) i have done a hard (full) shutdown.i have installed all microsoft updates (i am running win8, not 8.1). what to do?sincerely, matan leilien

Definitlely have it looked at. That could be a hardware deffect on the maker(apple) so there could be a definite replacement option.

  • Lenovo Bluetooth Laser mouse 41u5009 scroll wheel not working in Virtual PC

Firstly this is not a type I have a 41U5009 that is the model number printed on the bottom of the mouse and this mouse came direct from Lenovo with my T61p notebook.  For some reason to get drivers for this mouse you cannot simply type in the model number on the Lenovo site as it does not recognize it as a valid model number.
My issue is that the driver I have or the mouse does not allow the scroll wheel to work under MS virtual pc 2007.  I am running Vista 64 bit on the T61P laptop and the virtual pc I am running xp.  If I plug in other mice such as MS cordless mini mouse or HP standard mouse the wheel from those mice works in the VM.  But the wheel on the Lenovo mouse does not work, this makes me believe it is the Lenovo mouse that is the issue.  I have tried using the Lenovo mouse on another pc ( a clone pc) and have the same issue with the wheel not working.  I should point out that in the parent OS the wheel on the Lenovo mouse works fine.  I should also point out that in the VM every other function of the mouse works fine, it is just the wheel part that does not get recognized.

Sorry, but pressing F7 did not do anything I could see in the mobile browser. I had to check with the desktop browser to see what it was supposed to do, and I don't think this caret browsing function exists in the mobile version.
Also tried installing the latest non-beta mobile FIrefox alongside the beta, without syncing anything, and the nonfunctionality of mouse scrolling is present in that one, too. Am considering giving up on mobile Firefox on at least this device.
Note: in case this information is useful, the mouse scrolling works on the Firefox start page with the thumbnails for most used links, but not on any other pages.

  • Ideapad (Flex 15) touchscreen not working on upgrade to Windows 10

I  have an Ideapad Flex 15.
Since I upgraded yesterday to Windows 10, I have lost the touchscreen ability I had up to that point on Windows 8.1. On search for pen and touch, I was given this message on a system information page: "No pen or touch input is available for this display." I have looked in device manager under Human Interface Devices. Expanding the view to show hidden devices, I see "HID compliant touch screen." When I click to get device status, this is the message:
"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."
How do I do that? I note a similar problem in Windows 8.1 on this posting:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-hardware/touchscreen-not-working/c48cda23-93f2-4a9a-b6da-f7f47e67de0a
Does anyone have any idea how to reconnect the hardware device -- or at least to solve this problem? Thanks!
Mod's Edit: Added model to Subject line for clarity

I took this in to a shop, and two technicians tried to solve the problem to no avail. One of them did as suggested, and uninstalled the touchscreen driver under Mice and other devices, but that only disabled the mouse touchpad.  So it was reinstalled, and the driver for the touchscreen under Human Interface devices was reinstalled, but none of it helped, and I still lack the touchscreen capacity I had before.  I cannot scroll except on the side ribbon, and I cannot use the touchscreen to zoom in and out, which I could do on Windows 8 and 8.1.  So it seems there is no new Lenovo driver for the  IdeapadFlex 15 that is compatible with Windows 10.  I am told to wait and see, and to hope that Lenovo addresses this problem.  BTW, I previously had two Microsoft tech people remote control my computer to fix this, and they both failed.   I am disappointed with Microsoft and Lenovo.  Any computer that was bought within the last couple of years fitted with Windows 8 should upgrade no problem to Win 10.

  • Touchscreen not working on fresh Windows 8.1 install

I just bought a Pavilion 11-n040nb x360 and I'm planning to buy a few more for work, but I have a problem I wasn't able to fix so far.
On the OEM Operating System the touchscreen was working without a problem. I then installed an SSD-drive and created a new partition with a clean Windows 8.1 install. From the first startup the touchscreen isn't recognized by Windows.
The touchscreen itself is still working in BIOS/UEFI-setup and the diagnostic tool proves there's nothing wrong with the hardware itself.
I found a lot of posts from people with the same problem and tried really every tip, a lot of different drivers and software, but still can't get it to work.
    More usefull info:
    - HD Graphics 10.18.10.3366 driver installed and in use
    - Synaptics 18.0.4.81 driver installed and in use
    - Windows is up to date (no recommended or optional updates available)
    - Windows system screen shows the message 'pen or touch input is not available for this display'
    - No unknown devices in Windows device management (all drivers installed)
    - Looks a bit weird to me: in device management, next to the Synaptics PS/2 Port Clickpad, there is another device called "HID-mouse" with hardware ID HID\VID_0461&PID_4DF1&REV_0300&Col01 but I can't find any other drivers for it than the default Windows-driver, I'm thinking this might be the touchscreen hardware?
Any help on how I can get the touchscreen working on this clean Win 8.1 Pro install?!

    @Dennichio ,
Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forum.  What may have happened with your install is that the chipset driver may not have been loaded first causing issues with the touchscreen driver.
Here is the link for your systems supported drivers.
HP Pavilion 11-n040nb x360 PC (ENERGY STAR) Drivers.
Once you have downloaded all your software and drivers for your notebook you will want to boot into safe mode and uninstall your drivers.
    Windows 8 Safe Mode
You may have to reboot between each uninstall.
once this is done then you will have to boot back into windows normally.
Now install your drivers again this time make sure you install the chipset drivers before anything ellse.
Please let me know how this goes for you.
Thank you again for posting and have a great day.

To re-enable the touchscreen functions of your notebook, I recommend following any missed steps in this document on Troubleshooting touch screen issues in Windows 8.
If the touchscreen still is not working, I recommend returning your system back to a previous restore point to when the touchscreen was working. This can be done by following this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8).
If the issue persists, I recommend performing a backup and recovery of your Operating System. This can be done by following this document on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), as well as Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8). This should help return your system back to factory defaults.
