Lenovo S12 Energy Management Software ?

Hey Everyone,
I had a quick question...
1) Does setting the Processor Preference to (HIGH) in the energy management software result in overclocking of the processor ?
2) Is it safe to keep it always on High (as opposed to Low or Auto)
Thank You
Solved!

Hi there, no fear ...high setting  is cpu 1,6 GHz, more lcd brighness  ... all other settings will slower  and more less.. brightness and so on...
Allways on high is more comfortable at home & plugged in ... or if you want your battery more earlier empty ..balanced is good for battery use ...

  • Lenovo Y510 Energy Management Software - Windows 7 64 BIT Help!

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate (Retail) 64-BIT on a Ideapad Y510 with, but there is an error in device manager, it wants a ACPI driver, but the one provided doesn't install, and the driver software for the Lenovo Energy Management (To work with the Novo button) installs...but does nothing, nor is findable.
So is there other versions out there, or for example...the Y550, 650 etc. models, those running 64-BIT, would their Energy management software and ACPI drivers work?

The text on the Beta site is a bit confusing there is a "Power Management driver" of 20.1 MB this is NOT the driver but the Power Management application.
Then there are two different drivers of 0.99 MB.

These are the actual drivers. However I do not see your system listed for either driver so maybe it is not yet available?

  • Energy Management software keeps making shortcuts in the Start Menu

I just recently reformatted my laptop and installed Windows 7 Ultimate. I got the drivers from my laptop model's download page in the Lenovo support website, and everything was working fine - except for when the Lenovo Energy Management software would keep making shortcuts in the Start Menu every time I reboot the system.
I had my Start Menu organized, created folders to categorize my apps, so it's really annoying when a folder I already deleted pops up every time I start my laptop. Why does it happen? Is there a fix for it?

    Hi Pommy,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
I’m sorry to hear that a shortcut is automatically getting created, I would suggest you to re-install the LEM (Lenovo Energy Management) in the computer and while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error.
Do post us back if the issue persists.
    Best Regards

  • Updating to Latest Energy Management Software

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. I downloaded version 3.0.3 of the Energy Management software but never installed it because I first want to be sure it will work with my BIOS version.
I have BIOS version 14CN88WW installed. Does anyone know whether it will be okay to install the latest energy management software with this BIOS, or should I also update the BIOS?
The computer has had no problems (other than slow playback of some HD video). I just want access to the enhanced energy management features in version 3.03. I am currently running version 3.0 of the software, on Win XP.
    Thanks again,

  • G700 - Energy Management says battery is not genuine and won't charge it!

    Hello
Apologies if someone has already posted this query and got a response. My G700 has Lenovo's Energy Management software (8.0.2.4) installed. Until recently, the battery would charge (and drain) as expected - it is the original that came with the laptop a few weeks ago. I'm running Windows 8 and haven't upgraded to 8.1 yet.
However, now I get a pop-up box from the software every time I boot up from saying that "the system does not support batteries that are not genuine Lenovo-made or authorized.....". Also, the software is preventing the battery from being charged, so I'm having to use the mains power.
Lenovo's support has suggested that it might be a (physical) problem with the battery, but it seems to be a software-related. Please can someone help with this one? Is there an update to the software that I can install? Can it be disabled to allow the battery to be charged? Does the problem go away with an upgrade to Windows 8.1?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Ammo23,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
This error may be a Software/Firmware Related or the battery is really bad and being read as not genuine.
    can you try Doing this,
     1. Try Performing a power Drain and BIOs Reset.
Remove the AC adapter and the battery, Now Hold Down the power Button for at least 10 sec. This will drain the Mainboard.
Reconnect the Ac and Battery and Turn on the system,Right away start tapping F2 to boot into BIOS Setting.
Hit F9 to Load defaults and enter for Yes then hit F10 To save and Exit then Enter for Yes.
     2. When Booted Back up to Windows,
Open Device Manager and under Battery Look for Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control method Battery
Right Click On it and uninstall it, Restart after uninstallation.
Check if the issue will be the same after the Steps.
If still the same, Uninstall the Lenovo Energy Management from Control Panel / Programs and restart the system.
check if the system will charge without the Energy Management Software,
If the same thing happened I would Suggest you call Lenovo Support right away and report the steps your did and still getting the same result.
    Let me know your Findings
    Cheers!

  • G510 - Lenovo Energy Management on Windows 8.1 Pro

    Hello,
Today I installed a fresh Windows 8.1 Pro copy on my Lenovo G510 Notebook.
Everything went well and all drivers which I had downloaded from the support site installed successfully.
There was no Energy Management Software available for Windows 8.1, so I figured that Windows 8 version might work. So, I installed it but after a restart, Windows message center showed an error saying that Energy Management software was incompatible with this version of Windows.
So, what are your suggestions? I mainly use Energy Management to keep my battery at 50-60% charge because I always keep it plugged in and rarely take it outside with me on travels. When would you be releasing a software update? Or can I use Thinkpad's Windows 8.1 version of EM?
Side note: Just wanted to say/ask a few things. Didn't wanted to create a separate thread.
Is it okay to update Video drivers for Intel and/or AMD graphics directly from the website?
I saw that the AMD drivers were outdated and decided to update them from the AMD website, but after update there was an error reported in the log of Installer. I don't remember the error specifically but after the update, in device manager it would show AMD Radeon HD 8000M Series, instead of my specific model i.e 8570M.
So I rolled back. Also there used to be an easy access to Dolby Equilizer in the taskbar but the new drivers do not have that feature and I have to go in control panel to find the equilizer (I feel the sound quality has deterioated).
Please update the drivers, as there are a number of updated even after I installed all the latest drivers that are provided on the support site. Example, Realtek Card Reader (Windows reported different models than which were available on the official Realtek website but I installed anyway, they don't seem to misbehave), Conexant Audio driver of size 180MB, from Windows Update ( After this update, I cannot switch between Voice Recording and VOIP, VOIP is greyed out), Intel Video Driver update from Windows Update, which I didnot install because I play games on my laptop, and I fear this will ruin the Switchable graphics options, and AMD drivers from officlal AMD website for the same reasons that I did not install Intel's.
I am sorry for the long post. But any help and feedback will be greatly appriciated.

I have installed Lenovo Energy Management 8.0.2.4 for Windows 8 (G510), in compatibility mode on my G510 running Windows 8.1 Pro.
For now it is not giving a compatibility error.
I did a little searching and found out that G510s is very similar to G510 model, except the touchscreen and Nvidia Graphics. My G510 has AMD Radeon. I found Lenovo Energy Management 1.0.0.31 for Windows 8.1 (G510s). Going to install that.
Also, the Drivers CD which came with the box had Energy Management v1.0.0.24 and 32bit & 64bit were in different setups. I think this will be more compatible.
I need experts advice. Please reply.
EDIT: This works! v1.0.0.31 has that similar interface to the EM software that came in the CD. So far no compatibility errors as well.

  • Lenovo Energy Management

Will there be a Lenovo Energy Management software version for Windows 8.1? I have install Win 8.1 last week from MSDNA an can't activate WLAN. All Drivers are working fine.
When I try to activate WLAN via the Lenovo FN-Key on my S205, Windows just enaybles or disables Airplane Mode.

    Dear H4NN1BAL,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community,
Unfortunately sir, the official release date of windows 8.1 and its support will start on 18-10-2013, so until then we will not be able to provide you with a release date of the Energy Management for Windows 8.1.

  • Problem with Energy Management and One key Theater

I have a Lenovo G560 laptop. Actually, I have first installed Windows 7 x64 on my lappy but it caused many problems so I again reinstall windows 7 32 bit. But now Energy Management and One key theater are not working at all.
Is there any fix for it???

As I understand you are unable to use OneKey Theater and Lenovo energy management.
The installation of both OneKey Theater and Power Management are necessary for using OneKey Theater. Through "Start" à "All Programs" à "Lenovo", or "Start" à "Control Panel" à "Programs" à "Programs and Features", you can find out whether OneKey Theater has been installed.
If it has been installed, you need to make sure the following two items has been started in “Start à Run à msconfig à Startup”
After that, if OneKey Theater is still unable to be started, you can run it manually by double clicking "Onekey Studio" through "Local Disk(C" à "Program Files" à "Lenovo" à "OneKey Theater".
If OneKey Theater has been started, you can see "Onekey Studio.exe" under the "Processes" tab of "Windows Task Manager".
OneKey Theater can be download from the mentioned below web link.

Lenovo energy management software can be download from the mentioned below web link.

  • G550 Energy Management Problem

    Hello,
I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this before.
When you set Energy Management software to "Super Energy Saver" mode, it turns off a couple of functions like sound card, bluetooth, ethernet etc. and Wireless Network Card is one of them.
The problem is when you turn it back to "Balanced" or to some other option, the particular card remains closed. You can choose not to close it from the advanced options menu, however you can only access advanced options menu when you're using "Super Energy Saver" mode (the button dissapears in other modes). So, it is a vicious circle. I've tried activating wireless manually, but it looks like it is already open (device manager etc.) everywhere.
At the very end I've tried uninstalling the program, which didn't work either; the card remained closed, and I was left without internet until I've noticed that I had the setup file of it. At the moment, I have to use "Super Energy Saver" mode, and set it to not to close Wireless Network Card.
Where do you think the program disables Wireless? How can I reopen it?
    Thank you.

first of all, you need power management. it also includes system files that you can use turn on/off some functions such as wireless.
    after re-installing, press fn + f5 and/or switch on/of the wireless.

  • T440s doesn't have Lenovo Energy Management program?

How come my T440s doesn't have the Lenovo Energy Manager program? I remember my other Ideapads had it. ThinkPads don't come with that program preinstalled? I wanted to do a battery gauge reset/recalibration.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to inform you that Energy Management program is designed for Ideapads and ThinkPads are supported with a set of applications called Lenovo Think Vantage Toolbox.
Think Vantage is a software library designed for Lenovo ThinkPad computers. It is intended to maximize the business user's experience through the use of easy-to-access utilities that take advantage of the ThinkPad's hardware features.
To perform a battery gauge reset, you can use Power manager.
Refer this knowledgebase created by Cleo_lenovo to understand how to perform a battery gauge reset.
    Hope this helps!

  • Lenovo Energy Management (Idea Pad v570)

Hi, I recently used the One Key Recovery, everything went smoothly as my computer returned to the manufacturer's original software. However, I noticed that the icon for the battery management was no longer there (actually I think it was missing for a while, never noticed until I reset my computer). I reinstalled the program but to no avail, the icon never shows up.
Most likely I'll just end up figuring out how to use Windows to change the setup for battery longevity, but I preferred Lenovo's easy to use interface in it's energy management program.
Maybe somebody here might have more insight in to something I might have overlooked (novice here). My theory isI might have deleted something essential in running that program or a Windows update rendered it obsolete.
    Thanks for your time.
EDIT: Nevermind, found the icon on the bottom right corner of my computer. Strange that it wouldn't launch straight from the setup. Apologies if I wasted anybody's time.

One of Lenovo or Microsof's programmers mistake.
    Not a big deal nowdays.
Try finding if different power profiles betweenthese users cause uch a behaviour.

  • WIN XP Pro on Lenovo G500 - Drivers - Energy Management

I bought a new G500 and asked the vendor to install WIN XP SP3 PRO - 32 bit from my existing disc.
The vendor installed it, but it is not working perfectly.
The Device Manager shows a few items - such as:

(02.) Network Controller (Device ID being PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_32187AA)
