Lenovo S400 motherboard info

Hi all,
I can't fine the model of my motherboard: can someone tells me which is? I own a lenovo S400 with intel i5 3317u. When I run CPU-ID, under name is written "company name" and no model is shown.
Thanks in advance!

hi Fantasys21,
You can check this Maintenance Manual for your system and check the Hardware list.
You should be able to find the following list
Spoiler (Highlight to read)
Note that the part you need to get has an FRU tag on it. as per other threads here same model without the FRU tag will not work.

  • Lenovo B560 motherboard replacement

    Hi,
My dear laptop died on me about a month ago. It wouldn't do anything when pressing the power button and the power led would not light when connected to power. Tried with or without the battery, no led, no power. I checked with another cable and I checked my cable on another laptop and it worked so the issue has nothing to do with the power cable.
I took the laptop to my universities repair shop for a diagnosis and they said the Motherboard is dead.
Any suggestion where I could find a brand new motherboard replacement in the UK?
    Thanks,

  • Lenovo G550 Motherboard replacement

    Hello
The motherboard on my G550 malfunctioned and while I was looking for a new one on the internet I noticed that some versions of the same laptop come with a different graphics card. My laptop has a integrated Intel Mobile 45 Family Chipset, but some versions come with a NVIDIA GeForce G210M. So I was wondering if I can replace my old motherboard with the one that has NVIDIA GeForce G210M or do I have to get the same one as my old motherobard?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Required Lenovo G580 motherboard

    Hello fellow members,
It has been a year since I bought a Lenovo G580 laptop. Recently, I encountered a display failure. When I went to a local repair shop, I was told that the graphics card has been broken and since it is not detachable, the whole motherboard will have to be replaced. I have now two questions pertaining to the issue
    1) Is it true that the graphics card is not detachable from the Lenovo G580 motherboard?
    2) And if so, is there any online shop that sells new / used lenovo g580 motherboards and also provides shipping service in Pakistan.
    Looking forward to replies.
    Thanks

    hi syedkumail27,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
    Regarding your questions:
    1. For G580 models with discrete graphics (Nvidia GT610M/GT630M), the GPU is soldered on the motherboard.
Although this is the case, this can be detached but only professional reballing service centers does this as they have the required tools to desolder the leds.
    2. Check this ebay item as Pakistan is included in the Shipping and handling.
    Note:
From the description of the ebay item, the motherboard is taken out from a Lenovo G580, MTM: 59344049. The motherboard only has an Integrated (Intel) Graphics
Check this image for a list of motherboards with discrete graphics.

  • Lenovo H530 Motherboard replacement

Recently purchased this lovely computer. however as I read through the manual it said something about the motherboard not to be removed by the customer which is a slight problem for me because I wanted to upgrade the PSU for my graphics card which is hard to do with the current because of the 14pins since most use 24 and switch to an AMD Processor. So my main point and question is if it is possible to safely remove the motherboard and the antenna attatched to the wireless card?

  • Lenovo S400 screen brightness darker on Win 7?

So I recently bought a Lenovo S400 that came with Windows 8 for someone.  However, he didn't like Windows 8 so I installed Windows 7 on it.  After installing all the driver, the screen for some reason got darker.  It seems like the lowerst the screen brightness can go and the hightest the screen brightness can go got lowered.  I thought it may have been a driver issues so I uninstalled and reinstalled all of the driver without any luck.  So I just formmated the computer again but still no luck.
Does anybody have any solutions for this?

    ***UPDATE***
Ok so the problem is confirmed! As soon as I restored Win 8, the screen brightness was set at 65%, I was quickly able to turn it up to 100% and the screen is as bright as ever. So it is now definitely not a hardware issue but an issue with Win 7 drivers Lenovo provides.
Now, I will try getting all the drivers off the hidden partition and try restoring my Win 7 back and trying that Win 8 driver. If that works, I will upload the Win 8 driver for everyone and post a link.
But, I definitely discovered the cause. It's drivers!
    PS
In fact, I will post the driver if I find it now, so you guys can try it out before I do the Win 7 restore again.
Hmm, the only problem now is I can't seem to see the drive with the drivers on it. I know I had it before, but I can't see it now, I recreated all the partitions Lenovo came with, keeping exact sizes, but I can't seem to assign a letter to any of them through standard disk management app.
Ok tried viewing the hidden partitions.... I just remembered that I was stupid and didn't backup the D drive, which is where the regular OneKey Backups go and the drivers were in that folder as well.....
So if anyone has Win 8, please upload it somewhere, preferably dropbox or mediafire, so I can test it.
Because it'll be a long time before we get it from Lenovo and I really hate Win 8!

call lenovo support line to ship your laptop back to service.
if you have recovery disks, use it instead of shipping back to lenovo.

  • Lenovo S400 error in installing Rapid start technology

I recently installed windows 8 on my laptop all drivers were installed perfectly except Intel Rapid Start Technology, on installing it is showing that your system doesn't meet the minimum requirement. Also the action center is showing install driver for power management and card reader which I have already installed but still it is continuously showing this message.

    hi madhurgandhi,
    Welcome to the Forums.
Installing the Intel Rapid Start Technology requires an Intel Rapid Start feature in the BIOS. Upon looking, this is not included in the S400's BIOS so this software will not work.
As for the power management and card reader notifications, are these the drivers that you installed?
    Realtek Card Reader Driver
    Version: 6.2.9200.39044
    Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit)
    Lenovo Energy Management
    Version: 8.0.2.3
    Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit)
AFAIK, If the card reader and the energy management softwares are both instaled and working without any errors, you should be fine.

  • Lenovo S400 Windows XP Drivers needed

Hello can I use the Windows 7 drivers to install Windows XP on Lenovo Ideapad S400?
Or can I Download anywhere the XP Drivers?

    hi Napkid,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Windows XP drivers are not listed under support site for this model.
If you really want to push for Windows XP you will need to get those manually from Manufacturers.
You can check device's Hardware ID under Device Manager to identify the brand and model.
Then look it up online for driver download

  • Lenovo G505s motherboard-invalid

    Hi all
I have some problems with my G505s laptop after i took it in service for CPU temperature too high(till now i had it 3 times in service).
now i have problems with the motherboard:    product- invalid, serial- invalid. Also the laptop works very low and it gets stuck, and the DVD-RW doesn't  read all the DVD/ CD- for example the one i have with the drivers-   definitely cannot compare it with the first time i had it before sending it to be repaired.
What is to be done here?

    hi Gbianca,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Ideally, after replacing the motherboard, the DMI configuration (like the serial number) is updated using a DOS based utility (this is usually done by the tech. who serviced the unit).
If you're seing options like motherboard - invalid / serial number - invalid in the BIOS then it's likely that the DMI was not updated. If you have sent the system to an authorized lenovo service center, I recommend you contact them to get these information updated.
As for the machine working low and gets stucked, do you mean you're noticing slow performance and freezing issues? if yes, try the following:
    1. Set the power settings to High Performance
    2. Boot the the system in Safe Mode. If everything goes well, perform a clean boot and observe in normal mode (this temporarily disables non-microsoft apps that are running in the background that might be causing the slow performance).
As for the DVD drive not reading any CD/DVD, is the drive detected under Device Manager but not present under Windows Explorer? If yes, check this microsoft fix.
Let me know how it goes

  • Lenovo M5400 motherboard capacitor burned, audio not working

Hi, the audio of my lenovo M5400 stopped working, it does not play any sounds on the speakers neither on the headphone jack, after noticing the problem i dissasembled the unit and i could see that little C16 Capacitor on the motherboard is burned, i assume this happened from a shorcircuit or something.
Can anyone tell me if is it possible to replace the burnt capacitor? if i do will the audio work again?
Right now i can only hear some background blank noise from the speakers and headphones..

    Yes,
if you are good with the soldering iron and know the type of that burned capacitor, you can replace that burned capacitor with ease and restore the audio output

  • Lenovo K430 motherboard and SLI?

I recently purchased a Lenovo K430 Ideacentre PC (model 31092HU) and made some upgrades. I put an 850w powersupply and nvidia gtx 660 ti video card in it to beef it up a little more. I was curious however if this motherboard would support the SLI technology and bridge if I were to upgrade it further? I can't figure out exactly what the board is even using cpu z. I appreciate any insight.

What power supply did you install?  Did you loose the Power Control Switch light and the LED's at the bottom? Any other issues?  Thanks.
