Lenovo S400 Windows XP Drivers needed

Hello can I use the Windows 7 drivers to install Windows XP on Lenovo Ideapad S400?
Or can I Download anywhere the XP Drivers?

hi Napkid,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Windows XP drivers are not listed under support site for this model.
If you really want to push for Windows XP you will need to get those manually from Manufacturers.
You can check device's Hardware ID under Device Manager to identify the brand and model.
Then look it up online for driver download

  • Lenovo g550 windows xp drivers will not load

Help!  I purchased a Lenovo G550 yesterday and am in need of assistance.  Unfortuantely it doesn't appear that there is any way to contact Lenovo, the website doesn't show any method of even emailing them without an IBM service tag (which unless you are corporate user you can't get).
I purchased a lenovo g550 yesterday configuration is 3gb ram 160Gb HDD.  Upon booting the system I discovered that in fact users only get access to about 100Gb of the harddrive the rest is set up under multiple hidden drives.  I the system came with windows 7 home edition.  I need windows xp.  So through several hours of work I was able to create some unallocated space on the harddrive.  I loaded my copy of windows xp professional to this space and since windows automatically selects the drive name it is drive D:
I went to the lenovo website prior to loading xp and manually downloaded every driver from the site (very time consuming, I saw another way via a forum but was not able to locate it on the lenovo website).  Immendiately after loading xp and rebooting I loaded the intel chipset driver.  Then rebooted.  No other drivers will load for any of the other pieces of hardware.  All of THEM, everyone crashes with an error message that there is not enough disk space on c: to load.  I would guess that there isn't since c: is a 200mb hidden drive created by Lenovo.
Does anyone have a work around for this problem with the lenovo drivers?  This has turned into a multi-hour project for something very simple - putting an alternative operating system on the computer.  I cannot put xp as the c: drive because of the lenovo hidden partition is named c:.  I don't want to delete windows 7, as I expect to move to it in the next year but right now I several thousand dollars worth of software in xp and need to use that software.
I sure would appreciate any assistance :-)  Again the issue is the lenovo windows xp drivers, everyone of them excluding the intel chipset driver will not load under windows xp when windows xp is loaded onto the d: partition.  they all say they want to load onto the c: parition which is not an option.
thanks in advance for any help and if anyone knows how to get in contact with lenovo would love that also.

Well if you do not want win7 all together, then just delete all the partitions and install your XP. But if your not wanting to mess up this drive to be able to use the win7 later then just buy a cheap HDD to put XP on. --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148452 $10 off and free shipping. but being that you already tried installing XP then you already messed up win7 anyways(if you did not make the restore disks), your better off just deleting and redoing XP.

Tomorrow Windows 10 will be released. I want to upgrade from Windows 8.1, but the Lenovo G500's drivers for Windows 10 aren't released yet. Will be the drivers released tomorrow or Lenovo G500 will not receive update for drivers ?

  • Satellite L50-A013 - Windows 7 Drivers needed

    Hi,
my employer brought a Satellite L50-A013, Part NO: PSKL6A-013004 preloaded with Windows 8 and wanted 7 on it. I have installed 7 but I am having some driver issues. On the Toshiba support area they list the laptop, but there are no drivers for it. The main piece of hardware I'm having trouble with is the wireless. Details are as follows:
    Physical Device Object name
    NTPNP_PCI0016
    Hardware Ids
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_061211AD&REV_01
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_061211AD
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_0280
I also wiped the harddrive during installation, so I can't restore windows 8. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have no idea what you have done or what you try to do but you have posted device details.
    I see: VEN_ID (vendor) 168C and DEV_ID (device) 0036
Terentino posted link to pci databse. Using this database you can find out what module it is.
    Vendor 168C is Atheros
It looks like the driver you need are from Atheros.
I found some Win 8 drivers for this unit on the Toshiba EU driver page.
Check if you can install an Win 8 driver on an Windows 7 system.

Good day and welcome to the community.

Looking at those support pages: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g710-notebook
there are a good number of Win10 drivers available if you want to try the upgrade. As I understand it, the upgrade can be rolled back within the first 30 days.

    3) select "Printer Properties"
    4) go to the "Device Setting" tab in the top row in the middle

  • Windows 2000 drivers needed

my ipod kept hanging up in itunes and would not stop updating. when i tried to reset it i got the folder with the exclamation point. i took it back and the store issued me a new one. now in windows (xp) will not install the drivers. i have downloaded the latest version of software and I have reinstalled itunes. any ideas?

Well, if you are interested in a long explanation - Microsoft is not interested in VPC working to its potential, but adding it to the arsenal of trying to control the world with marketshare. Reality sometimes *****. What makes VPC so bad is the fact that it is software trying to emulate hardware. So whether you are trying to get away from PC problems by using VPC, guess what? Welcome to the world of Microsoft.
Case in point. A real installation system requirement for WinXP on a true PC hardware is 233 Mhz Processor (the Powerbook emulates between 290-299Mhz Processor), SVGA (Which on the Mac emulates Trio VGA, how much more ancient can you get?). It's a cash cow, really.
Anyway, I hope you get things worked out with the drive issue. Keep me updated.

  • Windows XP drivers needed for L305-S5955

I downloaded the ones listed on the support site, but I still need sound drivers, LAN drivers (not Wi-Fi, that works fine) and some other device (listed as 'SM Bus Controller' in Device Manager).  Any help?  Thanks!

    Satellite L305-S5955
In case there are drivers you cannot locate on the US site,...
Your model is in part-number family PSLB8U, which corresponds to part-number family PSLB8E in European Toshiba machines.
Go to the European download site and look up Satellite L300 with Short Model No. PSLB8E.
(The SM Bus Controller is the chipset software.)

  • Update to Windows 7 - Drivers missing for Lenovo 3000 v200

Hi, I bet this not the first post on the matter but I really need help with this...
I just got my laptop (3000 v200) updated to Windows 7 and it seems that many of the drivers are missing (fx. the microphone, webcam and touchpad). I've been browsing the net for solutions but sadly I haven't found a single solution which could fix my problem, most likely because I am not an advanced computer guy.
If there is anyone who can point me into the right direction or tell me if there is a complete Lenovo Drivers Update Package then I would appreciate it very much.

check lenovo download page first but i don't think lenovo doesn't provide windows 7 drivers for your computer. if you have vista drivers, you can try to use them instead of.
by the way, are you using realtek drivers for sound? if yes, you can download the drivers from directly realtek.com

  • Satellite L755D PSK36E - need Windows 7 drivers

    Hello,

I did it with a Dvd that i had have from my own Pc.
But now i have a problem.
On the new installed Laptop aren't any drivers i think.
The WLan isnt working, and also the desktop are very.... mutch pixeled i guess.
Can someone give me somethink like a pack of drivers that i need?
    Its a Satellite L755D PSK36E
    I hope for some help..
    /Pascal

    Hello Pascal
At first I must say that Im really wondering you didnt start to help your girlfriend doing first logical step: pick up some info about this machine. Why?
This notebook model was delivered with original preinstalled Win7 64bit so best and easiest way to reinstall Win7 was to make HDD recovery installation. I don't know if your girlfriend has created recovery media in the past. You can ask her and use created discs for OS installation.
Anyway, of course you can install own OS version but problem is that after this installation you have killed original recovery mage.
So now after clean Windows installation you need to install all necessary drivers, tools and utilities manually, one by one.
    Here is the installation order:
    Win7 SP1
    TOSHIBA Supervisor Password Utility
    TOSHIBA HW Setup Utility
    TOSHIBA Assist
    AMD xHC driver
    AMD Display Driver
    TOSHIBA Value Added Package
    ATI HDMI Audio Driver 7
    Conexant Audio Driver
    Wireless LAN Driver
    Synaptics Touch Pad Driver
    Bluetooth Monitor
    Bluetooth Filter Driver Package
Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba
    Atheros LAN Driver
    Realtek Card Reader
    TOSHIBA Wireless LAN Indicator
    TOSHIBA Sleep Utility
    TOSHIBA Face Recognition
    TOSHIBA eco Utility
    TOSHIBA HDD/SSD Alert
    TOSHIBA PC Health Monitor
    ConfigFree
    TOSHIBA Web Camera Application
TOSHIBA Network Device ID Registry Setting Tool
    TOSHIBA Media Controller
    TOSHIBA Media Controller Plug-in
    PatchFiles PCIIDEREG-1.2
    PatchFiles TosVolRegulator_x64_1.1
Of course, if you want you can order original recovery installation disc - https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Need Windows 8 drivers for my Satellite L850-A848

hey i cant find windows 8 drivers for my Satellite L850-A848
The short model number PSKACV is but shown in the list.....but upon searching it shows 0 drivers found......why is it so??
are the drivers not available now....??it's a matter of urgency.....do reply

    > .why is it so??
Hey dude . this user to user community.. nobody here can say why the drivers are not available for this series
Fact is that here on this Toshiba page you can find a Win 8 driver upgrade matrix
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/checkWindows8Compatible.do?service=EU
If your notebook model is not listed, the Win 8 drivers will not be released.
Anyway you can try to install some Win 8 tools released for other series.
For example the installation of Toshiba value added package (VAP) should be possible on all Toshiba notebooks.

  • HP VS19X drivers needed for Windows 7

my dad has a HP VS19X monitor and is using windows 7 and i would like to know where i can get the drivers for it to support windows 7.

Drivers for 7 do not exist for almost everything out there that is not natively handled in Windows 7. The monitor should have Plug and Played?
If you still want to pursue happiness you can try this (you are on your own because this is a release candidate):
    1. create a system restore point to go back in case you don't like how it turns out.
    2. Download the "XP" sp31061  to get to the inf (and ICM if you use it).
    3. Start the install but halt the install process when the HP Display Installer opens, and open the following path: C:\swsetup\Monitors\SP31061\64bit
    4. Inside you should be able to find a 32 and 64 bit inf that you can right-click on and install.  HP_vs19x64.inf

  • Lenovo Yoga Windows 8.1 Update Solution Thread

Before you attempt anything, I would suggest you read it first . This is probably not a conclusive guide for everyone's situation.
I updated to Windows 8.1 about a couple of hours ago and it's screwed up everything. I noticed users on this forum having a load of problems too so here's my 'roughish' guide on resololving all the issues that affected me (Lenovo Yoga 13 (2191))
Lenovo have release some official upgrade literature (incl rough solutions)
    http://download.lenovo.com/lenovo/content/windows8-1/upgrade/ideapad/index_en.html
You are going to need to download new drivers and reinstall a few apps.
Windows 8 Drivers (Back them up - Do not delete them)
This is what I've done. All of your drivers will be stored in c:\Drivers if you haven't got a custom installation. I would move everything in there into a new folder (C:\Drivers\Windows 8) so you have a historical backup because the Windows 8.1 may not upgrade them all.
    Windows 8.1 Drivers
    Go here;
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_GB/
Click Drivers & Software and search Yoga. This link should take you directly there but they never seem to post right on forums so...
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_GB/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032590
Change the filter to show Windows 8.1 as the OS. Download everything it displays and save it in a new folder (C:\Drivers\Windows 8.1).
Now you have all the new drivers ready to install. Go into your C:\Drivers\Windows 8.1 folder and install each thing in the list on by one. If they request a reboot I would suggest you do that before progressing onto another driver. Do this until everything is installed.
    At the time of writing the drivers include;
Bluetooth/Wlan, Camera, Card Reader, Chipset (Important), Management engine, Alscontrol, Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework & Graphics.
    WARNING:
Updating Wifi  drivers it may reset your settings (lose network passwords etc) so you may need to get your wifi pass to hand or skip this driver if you have no problems.
    Graphics
My graphics went blurry. This was due to the HD graphics driver. This is in this pack. This fixed it for me, but in case it doesn't totally fix your problem, there is a suggestion to change a setting if problems persist of your graphics (Thanks Ezekial)
    1. Right-click on Desktop and select "Screen resolution" option.
    2. Now click on "Make text and other items larger or smaller" link.
    3. It'll open "Display" settings page. You can also directly open "Display" window by selecting "Personalize" option from Desktop context menu and then click on "Display" link given at the bottom of left-sidebar.
    4. Now enable "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays" option and apply the changes.
    5. Restart your system and your problem will be fixed.
    Trackpad
If you have a problem where you lose your trackpad like I did, you can uninstall in that device manager but I would suggest you are careful in there. You can then click actions, and scan for hardware changes.
    Get to Device manager this way;
Right click My Computer/This Computer and click manage. Down the left side look for Device Manager.
When updating the drivers (anything with an exclamation mark) you should right click and update drivers. Search in your new folder. If you installed all the above drivers you may have nothing here.
    Airplane Mode Hotkey/Function
To fix the problem with the AirPlane mode not working you will need to go back to the above downloads page and change the filter to Windows 8 and look in Power Management. You will need that. I had to run it with Windows 8 compatibility and Run as administrator.
    Lenovo Transition/Auto-Rotate/Keyboard Disabler
    Download this;
    http://driverdl.lenovo.com.cn/lenovo/DriverFilesUploadFloder/36071/Win8_lenovo_transition_x64.exe
    (Thanks to the other th3is & mikey94025)
    Uninstall Lenovo Tranisition.
    Reboot.
Reinstall the downloaded version. If it fails at the end, reboot. If it's still sketchy uninstall, reboot and install again but with Windows 8 compatibility. Hopefully you won't need to do that though.
    Sound
This was broken. Drivers haven't been updated so in device manage update from your "C:\Drivers\(Windows 8)" folder
    Bluetooth
I haven't tested my bluetooth yet, but if your's is broken the drivers are in your "C:\Drivers\(Windows 8.1)"  folder if you downloaded the drivers linked above..
    Others
Citrix Receiver (I wouldn't expect this to affect the majority of you)
My desktop version of this broke. Maybe my custom installation, but a reinstall with the same commands fixed this.
    Windows Update
I would suggest you enable this and make sure you are up-to-date. Swipe in from the right and search for update. Find Windows Update.
I would also update other apps & drivers (link on that page to download an update to enable this.
I don't seem to have any other problems. The support page Is not all completely relevant IMO and it has some drastic views on what you should do to upgrade. Just take note that McAffe may have also broken, so be careful on the net as you may be unprotected.
You may want to run through Device manager on anything you are still having problems with. Also depending on the age of your yoga there may still be other things you could update, but unless you have a problem, I wouldn't really worry too much.
Windows 8.1 also no longer pins your apps to the start page by default. Now just swipe up from the bottom to find your apps if you want to pin them or just search for them (swipe in from the right)
Good luck!!! Sorry if I missed anything.

Can you be more specific with the below, as I can't make sense of what you're referring to?  I don't know what element size is at all, or where to change it.  And, I don't know what you mean by unchecking a checkbox in the device manager as there are no checkboxes.  More guidance and specifics would be appreciated.
    * Change the element size back to recover from blurry text
    * Go to device manager and uncheck that checkbox for the first of the USB devices in HID so that the touchscreen does always react on the first touch (this setting has been lost during the update process)
