Lenovo S820 not catching GPS Location - 4.2.1 OS

Hi,
I bought Lenovo S820 a month ago, I am trying to get the GPS location and it is ot catching the location in any of the application. Even I have the problem that when the device goes to standby data/wifi connection will disconnect and I'll not recieve any instant messages from any of the apps like whatsapp or wechat. Please help

This is being addressed in another thread:

Unless Apple moves on this, I think 3G map users are in a world of hurt. A temporary work around is turing location services off, which is totally contrary for the maps app being a GPS but at least the keyboard doesn't freeze and you can get directions and search.

  • Lenovo s820 not recognized in computer

I am using lenovo s820 for the past 1.5 years. Recently I upgraded it to KitKat OS and post which I'm not able to connect it to computer. Though the usb cable if fine, cell is not recognized by any computer.
I've tried other cables as well as with other systems also but no luck.

Try doing the Reset part of this procedure
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the battery is weak, you may want to do the Reset while it is connected to your computer running iTunes.  What you need is for iTunes to recognize it and do a Restore.  That will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.
Having the SIM card in there should not matter for doing a Restore.
Also, the process that allows iPhones to run on a different wireless network is called "unlocking" not jail-breaking (which allows software that is not from the App Store to be installed).  Unlocking should do no harm.  The problem is probably the current state of the iPhone's software not allowing it to start up and run properly.  A Restore should fix it, if software is the problem.

  • GPS Location is not shown in Ovi Share

I upload photos with my Nokia N78 to share.ovi and for some I am sure, that they contain the GPS location. But share.ovi does not show it and I have to add it manually.
It hasn´t worked for any photos, that I have uploaded, yet, although I turned on the GPS Info in the N78 camera settings and if i go to image details, I see the GPS infos.

4.3.3 is the complete basic tool suite. What you downloaded was a .dmg file...double click on that to open and mount. If it's an installer, run it. If it's Xcode the application, drag it into your /Applications folder and run it from there. Unmount the .dmg when done.
You can then download components such as debugging support for another version iOS and documents.
I would suggest you start with the latest tools. You'll go blind trying to straddle fossilized tools and SDKs and anything you learn will be at high risk of being obsolete to get into the store and support things today. • How can I add location to a photo that does not have a gps location? On iPhoto it was easy.

how can I add location to a photo that does not have a gps location? On iPhoto it was easy.

You can use the Settings in the slideshow to Show Captions,  either the Description filed be display, the Title field or both.
If you create the slideshow in iDVD from still photos from iPhoto you can add the Description and/or Title via the settings in iDVD.
Since iDVD adds both automatically the user must go thru the slideshow and remove those items not wanted.

  • GPS location on iPhone 4 pics does not displaying in iPhoto Places

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 4, and I noticed that the pictures I've taken do not seem to contain GPS location information. I was hoping to use them to geotag my pictures and access them via iPhoto Places feature, but they do not have any location info.  I have turned "On" location services for the camera.

Problem solved - the information was not transferred with the photos when I uploaded them to Dropbox via PhotoSync app and then downloaded them to my iMac.  Not sure where the info got dropped, but it was in the original files so I was able to recover it.

  • Since upgrading to iOS 8.3 the maps apps on my ipad do not show current location from my gps

Since upgrading to iOS 8.3 the maps apps on my ipad do not show current location from my gps DUALXGPS150A
The data is still being received by the ipad but not appearing on any of the maps.
Everything was working fine before the upgrade.

    Hi davidisleta,
If you are having issues with your iPad not showing location information, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

  • N8 geotagging (GPS location info) with video not a...

Why does my N8 have a setting which I can enable or disable capturing geolocation information for videos if it doesn't actually do it?
My original firmware (PR1.0 ?) had the option.
    PR1.1 had the option.
    PR2.0/Anna had the option
The betalabs camera update for Anna also has it.
When you finish recording a video, you get the preview screen where you can play it back right away.  If you hit OPTIONS->DETAILS, and then scroll down to LOCATION, you will see lat/lon information there (if you have a gps link).  Nowe exit out of the preview and camera app and go into your recorded video listing.  Find this video and see if it has GPS info.  It doesn't.  A picture does, but videos do not.
JPG's have an exif "layer" where this type of information (including the settings used to take the picture) can be stored and embedded right into the image.  However, I'm not even aware of this type of embedding available with MP4 video files.  Maybe it exists, but, the N8 is not able to display the lat/lon after you exit the recording preview.
How is it possible that this feature is still there, not usable, and nobody says anything about it and Nokia leaves it as an available option...?
    Or am I missing something?
No matter where I post it, no web site is able to retrieve the lat/lon from the MP4 (if it's in there) like they do with images.  Picasa, flickr, etc are all able to pull this info from within the file and display a map.  I'm not even aware of a viewer that could display this info for a video file in order to have an external verification.  But, I don't think it's storing it anyway.

I just tested it on my Nokia N8 (Running Symbian Anna ) and Nokia Beta Labs latest version of the Camera application.
I have set so capturing geolocation information is saved for video.
I Record a video and as you say if you playback the video right away Choose Options -> Details  I get the GPS location shown.
I  then go to Meny -> Photos
Choose the Check button (bottom left)
Then select the Video, then go to Options -> Details
I also get the GPS coords under Location here.
This location data is not shown if you show details under Meny -> Videos though..

  • I feel like a sucker. I bought an iPAD2 at Fry's where I was told by the salesman that the non 3-G version does have GPS. It does not have GPS.  Is there any way I can use the GPS on my Iphone or Garmin to display in my new mostly unuseable iPad2?

Is there anyway to input a live, real time  video feed into an iPad2? I would like to use it as a remote monitor for a microscope camera in electrophysiology. Our camera was designed to run off of an older Mac via a firewire connection.  The camera is SUPERB but the computers are dated.  The older  computers connected to an AC line are  electrically noisy.  I have worked out converting the signal from our camera to HDMI and/or USB2 but the iPad2 will not allow any input except via iTunes which is not real time, and requires several steps. Is it possible to use the only mostly useless iPad2 as the excellent portable DC driven display which it is?!!!  How do I get Apple to say anything but IGNORE, IGNORE IGNORE.  This would be a universal application in academics and all I think I need is permission from the iPad2. The original signal was designed for Apple hardware. They can have the patents. HELP?

  • How can I get my photos to save the GPS location for iPhoto?

I noticed that the info on my photos uploaded from my iphone 3G is not marking their location on the map. How can I activate this feature so the GPS location of the photos taken is saved to each photo's info in iPhoto after I upload it? Thanks!

Im not exactly sure what you mean by color profile..can you specify? So i have a dslr canon and take great portraits and tune them to exactly how I want them to look, they dont print at all like the colors presented on my screen. If i antique them then they print yellowish. Ive even tried printing them at walgreens because i thought it was my new printer. Hp hasnt let me doown til now. Is ot a printer setting? Ive never had this kind of printing issue.

  • GPS location doesn't work properly after shift WIFI device to new office

GPS worked well before my office moves to new location. This month, WIFI and other network devices were moved to a new location because of office relocation, but GPS location on google maps and other apps still display as before, even I turn off the WIFI. Only if I go out the office, the GPS works properly.

Means that the office is so heavily shielded that GPS signals are not getting in AND the WiFi access points are not in Apple's database. Do you have cellular data enabled? That's a third way these phones try to guesstimate position based on celltower signal strength.
But if you're in a high security facility, none of the above will work. That would be the way it is designed.

  • Get GPS location from the command line

Is there a utility to get the current GPS location from the command line?  A quick search says `geo` will do it, but that appears to come with the android dev tools, which I'd rather not install right now.  The reason I want to do this is to avoid hard-coding my coordinates in a call to `redshift`.

    Hmm.. `gpspipe` gives me:
gpspipe: could not connect to gpsd localhost:2947, Unknown error -6(-6)
    And `gpsd` gives me:

Do I need to be root for these applications? Alternatively, could I maybe just grab the timezone from /etc/localtime and use that? (though I guess that doesn't get close enough on longitude...)
You have to start gpsd from systemctl.  And you can plug/unplug gps devices at will, so it can be enabled in systemctl whether or not an actual gps is always available.

  • How can I adjust my gps location?

How can I adjust my gps location?  When I ask Siri to remind me of something when I get home, it would not work  I learned by accident while taking a walk that I have to go past my driveway to the far edge of my property for location services to recognize it as my home.  Can I make an adjustment to my gps?

When you say "It always reverts to the same place" what do you mean by it?
It sounds like you are using an address.  If you put an address into a map program, the map program will find the address based on where the address is mapped onto the map program, which you can not adjust, and which is often somewhere around the end of a driveway or even a mailbox.
If you had a large piece of property, or if you are looking on a map program for, say, a college campus, by simply inputting the address, there has to be a single point that is assigned to that address, which is why an entrance, driveway or mailbox is often what you get as the result.
This is not related to GPS in any way.
Even if you create a location yourself, via dropping a pin, for example, you are just dropping a point onto a map - once again not related to GPS.
GPS does nothing but show you approximately where your device is currently located.

beware: after the update my gps locations disappeared. this is a big bug in aperture.
    Thank you for the warning.
My gps locations are still there after the 3.4.4 to 3.4.5 upgrade, so this is probably not a general problem, but restricted to certain systems. What version did you upgrade from? And what exactly is lost? Places names you added in Aperture? Or gps locations based on gps tracks you added in "Places" view? The list of Places names you edited in "Manage My PLaces"?
If we knew, what exactly is missing now, we could try to recreate the problem you are seeing.

  • Is it possible to have a blackberry return GPS location on a browser response?

A common scenario is when blackberry accesses a server somewhere which in turn sends a form in return with the expectation the user will fill in one or more fields and press OK.  Does the blackberry have program code (apps, java code snippets, etc) that can attach the GPS location data to the form data going back to the server? If this is possible, I'll look into writing a small application, if someone has not already done so.
    Thanks for your interest.
