Updates for Lenovo S820

Hello Team, Currently my phone is having Andorid 4.2.1 I would like to know whether Is there any chance to get the update for Lenovo S820 to 4.2.2 and Android Kitkat. ThanksBhushan

I have the same query of Lenovo S820 phone. After purchase there's only the system update but not OS update. Many are asking in this forum about upgrading their phones to Android 4.3 or kitkat but there no assurance positive feedbacks. Lenovo S820 problem in call with bluetooth headset

Hello All.
I have Lenovo S820. I update smartphone to last version firmware. Information from phone:
Model: Lenovo S820_ROW
Android system version: 4.2.1
Firmware communication module: S820.V21, 2013/08/07 15:14
Build number: S820_ROW_S119_130922
I also connected the bluetooth headset. In the phone attached 2 sim: MTS(3g and 2g), BWK(only 2g)
Problem:
When I call from first slot of sim with bluetooth before whistles Lenovo S820 activate flight mode and disconnect with all providers(MTS and BWK) and after reset call Lenovo S820 turn off flight mode.
In second phone I recive call, but I can't answer a call from Lenovo S820.
I try from different headsets. this problem occur with all headsets.

I brick my Lenovo S820 :(

Hi, I bought a new Lenovo S820 and I wanted to upgrade FW cause my phone was without GSM signal (bad modem firmware probably).. So I installed MobileUncle tools, flashed a new recovery, rebooted phone and from that time I have a boot loop. Just Lenovo logo for few seconds, reboot, again logo.. infinite loop. I tried connect my phone for flashing in SP tool, so I push volume up, without battery and on USB, device is found in my laptop, but after few seconds it disappear from system, so I cant install drivers, flash device, anything.. I do not know, what I can do more.. Factory mode is full in chinese and nothing what I do there helps. Recovery doesnt work. Please, any advice?

Hi, ok, so for someone in future with similiar problem
1. power off your phone (put off battery and put it back)
2. press power+volume down = you will see META MODE status
3. connect USB, install USB driver - MediaTek DA USB VCOM Port
. in case of Windows 8.1 as my case you have to > win+c > settings > change PC settings > update & recovery
> reboot to recovery settings and there allow (choice no. 7) unsigned drivers
4. disconnect phone from USB, turn it off (batery out-in)
6. download official ROM data
5. run SP Tools, check DA DL check sum, select from unziped ROM datas scatter file, select in the window bellow all values and where is not path, click on the name of value and find file in ROM files
6. click on download, wait until status in status bar (on the bottom) will "Searching" and then connect device (which is still powered off)
7. wait for green pop up windows - success
8. unplug phone, now you can turn it on.. done
In additional you can via SP tool install recovery and then via recovery (power button+vlmup+vlmdown) install zip file with custom rom.

Lenovo System Update 5 does not work on my B580

Hello,
the Lenovo System Update 5 program does not work on my B580 laptop.
After 16% of the status bar the program says "there are no packages for your PC".
That can't be true, because i haven't installed all drivers and programs.
I got .NET Framework 4 on my laptop.
What will solve the problem?

Lenovo System Update 5.03 on T430u doesn't report software updates

On my T430u Lenovo System Update 5.03 running on windows 8.1doen't find any update even though updates are available. More technical details about the problem are reported in my previous thread.

The problem still persist.
I've just reinstalled all components:
- .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
- Lenovo System Update 5.03.008 (systemupdate503-2013-10-31.exe)
- Related Patch "Patch module for Lenovo System Update" (sushortcutfix01.exe)
- Executing DesktopToastsForCriticalUpdates (look at the screenshot) it reports available updates
- Executing Lenovo System Update it doesn't report any updates to install.
In logs directory of Lenovo System Update installation directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\System Update\logs) I can extract the same error:

Lenovo System Update not installing a driver

I reinstalled Windows 8.1 Pro on a X1 Carbon Touch, model 3448. I then installed the Lenovo System Updater, version 5.06.0027. Many drivers were installed, but I still have an unknown device in Device Manager. In msinfo32.exe, I see this in Problem Devices:
ACPI\LEN0078\5&2890D6990&0
A web search seems to indicate I need a Lenovo Power Management driver.
Any idea why the Lenovo System Updater does not identify this device and install the appropriate driver?

Lenovo System Update and Lenovo Support RSS Feed (X60)

Okay. I got Lenovo System Update (version 5, for Windows 7) and it did not offer me any Critical updates. Only Recommended and Optional ones. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, so I don't want to install Recommended and Optional updates, only the Critical ones if there is any.
On the other hand I also have the Lenovo Support RSS Feed. But they bring me to dead links. For my X60 the two drivers in my RSS Feed are
ThinkVantage Access Connections patch for Access Connections Version 5.95 for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-...
Patch module for Power Manager for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad -
Both are totally dead links.
The tricky part is that there is absolutely no correlation between the two: totally different drivers in the System Update and the RSS Feed.

SU has been discontinued because old SU version wouldn´t work with SP2.
Refer to this thread in at the ThinkVantage board regarding this situation and possible solutions

T430s, Win 8.1 Enterprise here. I installed Lenovo System Update 5.03 and scanned for new packages. However, it states that there are no new things for me. I went to Lenovo’s support website and found numerous drivers definetly newer then my installed one. Any ideas where the problem is? (I don’t want to download and install all of them individually…)

Lenovo System Update creating problems in fresh installation of Win 7

I'm hoping I can get help from this forum...
I have a Thinkpad R61 7742-CTO that has its original XP Pro operating system in day-to-day use. It's time to finally update to Win 7 with XP due to sunset soon. (Although I think Win 7 is visually ugly compared to XP)
I removed my "production" XP disk drive and did a clean installation of Win 7 Pro on the original purchase ("test") disk, including the 140-some MS updates available as of yesterday. Everything runs fine, including using Windows Update to search for new important and optional updates. So far, so good. I next went to Lenovo's website and downloaded the current version of Lenovo's System Update. Again, no problems once that particular program was installed. I installed Lenovo optional updates also without encountering problems.
However, when I load the Lenovo important updates, which include Access Manager, Power Mgr, etc., various intel and other "enhancements", things go wrong. If I click on Windows Update, for example, I get a message that it is not running. If I then do the net start/net stop wuauserv routines I found when searching the exact error message, I get the error: System error 5 access denied. I get the same message for several similar admin routines, particularly those involving "net".
I have tried many of the supposed repairs, including MS Fix-Its, that appear in Google when I searched the error message. None has worked. (A couple Fixits I did manually and got the Access Denied messages again) So I've rolled back using the restore point just prior to downloading the Lenovo programs, and everthing resumes working as expected.
It seems that the Lenovo downloads are interfering with something, particularly my admin rights, in some way. There's only one user (me) and it has admin rights, no password & etc. Other odd things are Access Connections is running as is the basic Win 7 network app in the system tray. Perhaps the Lenovo apps are interfering with the similar Win apps rather than replacing them as intended?
Can anyone suggest an approach to solving my problem?

It may be that TVSU is "updating" the AHCI driver (Intel Matrix Storage Manager or Rapid Storage Technology) to one that breaks Windows update.
You can try rolling back the driver to an earlier version or going to the Intel site and getting a later one.

I looked at the installation log and there was an error about service installation failure. So I looked at the Windows Services, and there was a System Update service installed, pointing to a non-existing folder under Program Files (x86). I removed the service manually (sc delete SUService from administrative command prompt) and after that System Update installed fine

Control Panel>admin tools>services> ... find SYstem update entry... right click, properties.
If entry points to non-existing folder:
Start program>accessories>command prompt Right click, run as Administrator
SC delete SUservice
Reboot. Try Su install again.

Compatibility issue between Netop Vision 7.2 and Lenovo System Update 4.01

I am just posting this here as an FYI.
It seems that if Vision 7.2 (perhaps older versions also) is installed, Lenovo System Update can no longer download updates. The list of updates is still downloaded and the updates applicable to the system are shown, but the actual download fails.
I suspect it may be related to how Vision 7 modifies the network stack in Windows to block web browsing. (Note that I didn't have any issues actually browsing the web with a browser, only downloading in TVSU failed).

Lenovo Thinkpad W500, Intel (R), Windows 7, SP1, latest updates as of Oct 15
(1) Checked Setting, set to automatic update whenever, even changed to never update, rebooted the OS and changed back to automatic update and rebooted the OS.
(2) Stopped Windows Update Services, renamed SoftwareDistribution folder and started the window update services and rebooted.
(3) Ran MS FIXIT
(4) Ran System File checker Scan (sfc /scannow)
(5) Ran CHKDSK /F
(6) Installed "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" drivers from Lenovo site
(7) Ran Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB971033)
None of the above possible recommended solutions were able to fix the issue yet and now I am getting a message your Window is Not Genuine!

The Lenovo System Update installed the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver 8.9.2.1002" right before the Windows Upgrade got broken. So in the Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, I choose Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller, on the Driver Tab, I choose the option "Roll Back Driver" and after rolling back the driver and restarting the OS, now Windows Update is working like a Champ!
