Lenovo S90u "Security problem" and network problems

I recently unistalled the security application (lenovo safecenter?) from my lenovo s90u phone. After this every time i turn on the phone there is an annoying message "Security problem" at the bottom left corner and the android "robot" at the top left corner of the screen, Reset to factory didn't solved the problem as also and a lenovo safecenter apk which i downloaded from a link i found here at the "Lenovo S850 security problem" topic. Also there is a serious problem with network connections as wifi and/or data connection are turning on at spear times without my permission. Every time i turn the phone on data connection in on and although i turn it off it turns on again (or the wifi) at spear times. Can you suggest any solution?

  • Z1 bluetooth and network problem after updating to 1.136

    Hi,
Last week I updated my phone via PC companion when it notified me a new system update was available. The update took me from Android 4.2.2 to 4.3, and the biuld number is now 14.2.A.1.136.
I use my phone with a SmartWatch 2 all the time, and a SBH20 bluetooth headset in my car. Before the update everything worked fine, but now I have issues with bluetooth connectivity. My SmartWatch 2 randomly disconnects and reconnects to the phone, and so does the headset. In the watch, specifically the Whatsapp notification app by LIS software stopped getting notifications most of the time, although every once in a while it does. The SBH20 also randomly disconnects and sometimes it takes minutes to reconnect by itself. I already unpaired and paired again both devices, even reset the SmartWatch, and the problem persists.
But the most recurrent issue is that the phone repeatedly notifies me to "Sign in to network"... and has problems connecting to the 4G and even to wi-fi networks, meaning that sometimes I don't get any data at all for who knows how long, because it happens randomly.
One thing that seems to me is that every time i lose my bluetooth connections it's because (or at the same time) of whatever happens that triggers the "Sign in to network" notification.
I was really happy of having purchased the whole package of phone, watch and headset, please help me with this.
    Leonardo

This is the responses I go from Sony "Customer DON'T Care....." regarding bluetooth issues -
"We can advise Sony Xperia do not test our products with other manufacturer’s devices and so we can not confirm the two devices are compatible.
As the handset has been updated this does indicate it is running different software which means the Bluetooth will have also been updated. Sadly, as Sony Xperia does not test our products with third party Bluetooth devices we will not have been able to foresee the change with your specific device.
We could only suggest that you contact the manufacturer of the device for any further assistance as there is nothing further we could advise.
We do apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
It is not that the software does not work it is the fact that we have updated the bluetooth drivers withing the update you have which no longer makes the bluetooth compatable with your car kit, if you ahve not contacted the car manufacturer already then I would suggest contacting them and seeing if there are any updates needed to the car kit."
Mmmmmm... so it seems that they DO NOT test any O/S upgrades against anything.....
It seems strange that both Samsung(S3 running 4.3)  and HTC M* (running 4.4.2) both work perfectly with my car audio system and the "developers" at Sony cant... either that or they just do not care... The smart money is on the latter... My z1 is THE WORST PHONE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF OWNING....

  • [SOLVED] linux-grsec on macbook pro 9,2 - battery and network problems

I have a macbook pro 9,2 on which I am dual booting OS X and arch. I am using xfce as my DE on the arch installation. Since installing and switching over to linux-grsec, my system seems unable to detect the presence of a battery (specifically my arch system - OS X still detects my battery just fine). The xfce battery monitor panel icon sits at 50% and does not change regardless of whether AC power is connected or not. Xfce power manager can detect whether or not the computer is receiving AC power, but does not show the existence of a battery. Running
    # acpi -b
yields an empty output, as does running
    # dmesg | grep -i battery
These methods all properly detected my battery prior to the installation of linux-grsec. I was unable to find any similar problems via google or the arch forums, and find myself at a loss for where to look to learn what I need to do to resolve this. I would very much like to avoid returning to the default kernel, if possible. I appreciate any assistance that you can offer, though if given a choice I would prefer the means to figure out the answer over the answer itself.

    Update:
Regarding the battery: I have determined that the update I performed had nothing to do with the detection of my battery. Arch detects my battery when AC power is connected during bootup (and continues to detect it even if I remove AC power after bootup), and does not detect my battery if AC power is not connected during bootup (and continues to not detect it even if AC power is connected after bootup). I did not notice before because by coincidence I started using my macbook without the power cord attached at the same time that I installed linux-grsec. Now that the problem is more clear and specific, I am migrating it to its own post found here.
Regarding bandwidth usage: Conky and Network Manager failing to display bandwidth usage actually occured immediately after switching to linux-grsec, I just did not notice this failure at first. The problem ended up being quite simple. Unbeknownst to me, linux-grsec changed my wireless interface name from wlp2s0 to wlp2s0b1. Network Manager and Conky were therefore failing to display bandwidth usage because they were both using wlp2s0 instead of wlp2s0b1. Correcting the interface name in .conkyrc and the network applet settings fixed the problem.

  • 10.5.7 and network problems

    Hi everyone,
I recently installed 10.5.7 on my iMac and Macbook (late 2008). Whenever I use the internet, it hangs up and I get either a gray screen or the page will not load at all. I did not have this problem when I had 10.5.6 installed, it worked perfectly. I checked my modem settings and the firmware on my router and all are up to date. I know it is not the connection, because I have a Windows computer that connects to the internet with no problems, which leaves me to believe 10.5.7 is the culprit. Can anyone give me some advice or explain to me how to resolve this problem? I am finding myself having to use my Dell Notebook which I don't want to. Thanks for your time, Craig

I'm also having this networking problem, both on a wired and wireless connection. I am almost positive that this stems from the 10.5.7 update and it's incredibly frustrating. I've tried deleting the plist files from the library, adding a new location, assigning a manual IP address and resetting my network hardware, nothing has helped.
Hopefully Apple will realize this soon, in the meantime I'm going to downgrade to 10.5.6.... what a pain..
I just hope those PC people don't find out about this!

  • Thinkpad w520 technical problems and warranty problems

I have a huge problem with my Lenovo ThinkPad W520 (Machine#4270CTO, SN * 11/07) purchased on US website in August 2011. Here is the story below:
In late December 2011 my laptop hardrive stopped working and as I am in Georgia(Caucasus) I went to the Lenovo Authorised Warranty Service Provider (not naming the company). They made the harddrive replacement very quickly and i was happy back then.
By start of January 2012 another problem came - my keyboard stopped completely working and as before I went to the service provider again and the faulty part was also changed in 2 weeks time.
By the end of January several problems occurred all together:
    1. The speakers stopped working completely they just give an itching sound.
    2. The track pad 2 buttons are completely unresponsive (not working) and the same 2 buttons on the keyboard - when I turn the trackpad off completely the keyboard buttons work.
    3. 2 days ago computer completely went off and it is not starting at all. Power button lights on (green) than a flash turns on and immediately off and nothing happens besides the power button light .
I contacted Authorized Warranty Service Provider again some days ago but unfortunately they give me the following answer: They have a limit for service from Lenovo 1 times per computer which means they can order only 1 part replacement a month and as last keyboard replacement they made was on 12th of February 2012 I have to wait.
I'm really confused of the Lenovo quality and service ATM paid over 2,000 USD in a machine that had no sound and track pad for the last 2-3 weeks and now the computer is completely off and I can not even use it.
I used to be a Lenovo/IBM customer for quite a long time not only for my personal use but also for business and I never had problem with Lenovo products before or support. 'm Honestly tired of this computer and situation in general and instead of changing every item(Listed above) and wait 3 months till my Laptop is fully working is just nonsense and also to be an owner of a high priced brick with almost all parts changed under a guarantee is also not pleasant . I'm sort of stuck on what to do and I ask some solution for me is there any way to change the computer to new/refurbished or get my money back?
Moderator edit by bananaman: Masked serial number to prevent misuse.

I have had similar problems, and would recommend the following:
You probably wont get a resolution from the forums, only sympathy (which can help!).
Keep calling anyone you can find to do with Lenovo warranty about the issue utill you get a decent response. I was calling every day for 2 months.  The process was so painful, I now live with the non-critical problems rather than deal with them.
Next time consider Dell.  Their 3ry warranties have been outstanding - shipping parts to me anywhere in Eurpe within 48 hours, or collecting from my office and returning fixed 2 hours later, even in Gibraltar.

  • CM2012 problem or Network problem??

We are having a difficult problem and so far no one has been able to figure it out.  I will do my best to explain in detail what is going on.
Our CM2012 server has this static IP address:  10.10.141.54
Our CM2012 server is a vSphere virtual server with 32GB of RAM
Our CM2012 server is also running SQL 2012
Our CM2012 server is a DP and our only MP
On the DP I configured PXE with the following options.
_ Enable PXE support for clients
_ Allow this distribution point to respond to incoming PXE requests
    _ Enable unknown computer support
_ Require a password when computers use PXE
_ Allow user device affinity with automatic approval
_ Respond to PXE requests on all network interfaces
_ Specify the PXE server response delay (seconds) = o
I have 2 ports in my office that were patched to use 10.10.141.x subnet
I created a DHCP scope that answers on 10.10.141.x   This scope has 10 addresses
The DHCP scope has 066 set to 10.10.141.54
The DHCP scope has 067 set to \smsboot\x64\wdsnbp.com
When I build any machine on the ports in my office the SMSImages\MH100002\boot.MH100002.wim copies down.  This takes about 2-3 minutes.
PXE loads up the WinPE environment and you are prompted to enter a password for the DP as outlined above.  I enter the password and the next sceen pops up in
1 second.  and it only takes about 4 seconds to resolve the task sequence.
The rest of our building (all workstations) are the 10.10.156.x subnet
They all use a different DHCP scope but the 10.10.156 DHCP scope also has 066 set to 10.10.141.54  and  067 is set to \smsboot\x64\wdsnbp.com
When I build any machine on the 10.10.156.x subnet the SMSImages\MH100002\boot.MH100002.wim copies down.  This takes about 2-3 minutes.    But....and here is our
PROBLEM.....Not all the time but at least %50-%75 of the time once you
enter the password for the DP it takes 3-5 MINUTES to get to the next window (which is the Select Task Sequence).    I choose the task sequence and it takes
    1 hour to Resolve!!
Why?  I have spent hours working with our Network techs and they said there are no dropped packets and the network is working as expected.   All other job fuctions by all other departments work and are not complaining.  It is only doing OSD's
    do we see this issue.
So.............      I reproduced the problem and captured the Entire SMSTS.LOG file.     This smsts.log file is from the start up to Entering the Password for the DP, which took about 2 minutes.
Is our CM2012 server jacked up or is this a network problem?  What makes all of us think it is CM2012 is the fact that the WinPE image copies down at the same speed on both subnets 10.10.141.x and 10.10.156.x
    Any help/advice would be great.

I can see the Client DDR is generated successfully. I hope, After 10:39:53 AM there is no activity in the SMSTS.log file until 11:39:xx AM. Is it so?  Can you check whether there is no problem with guid generated (GUID:de44f198-735d-4ec4-998e-55c01f55fecc)
? it's worth to take look at the log files at server side along with IIS logs to get some more clues. Have you already taken some network trace ..this would also can provide some clues.

  • Clock problem and shutdown problem! Are they related?

Having a problem with my Dual 2 GHz Power Mac G5
A few days ago I noticed that my clock was not showing in the menu bar in the upper right corner of my desktop.
I went into System Preferences and went to Date & Time. Under the clock tab “Show Date and Time in Menu Bar” the box was not checked off. I checked it off and went to the “Date and Time” tab. The date and time was correct. I then checked the box “Click the lock to prevent further changes” to lock it. The date and time did not show up in the menu bar. I then went back to the tab “Show Date and Time in Menu Bar” and the box I checked was not checked off even thought the lock was still locked.
I then moved my cursor up to the menu bar in the upper right corner to see what would happen and the spinning beach ball started up but only for the original icons such as Bluetooth, Mobile Me (which I do not use), Time Machine, Spaces (doesn’t indicated the number when I switch Spaces, etc. The icons Norton Anti Virus and Tech Tool Pro in the menu bar are okay.
Also, when I attempt to shut down my computer the system clears the icons from my desktop except for a picture I have on my desktop and I get a gray wheel spinning and the system just hangs until I press and hold the on/off switch. I don’t know if the clock and shutdown problems are related.
The only new software I loaded recently was Skype with Logitech WebCam for the Mac and Quicken 2007 (Had a problem with Quicken 2006). They both are working okay.
And ideas on why I cannot get my clock to show up and my computer to shutdown?

You may have to consider a new post in the Hardware forum area for the computer
model and build/year; if there is a possibility of some basis the matter could be in
the machine and not the software running within it.
Your last two/three posts are in the Leopard 10.5(.8) forum area and do indicate
some kind of problem where troubleshooting the computer to discover if the matter
at hand would be either hardware or software based, may be the way to go.
The link to the 10.6 Snow Leopard forum won't be of help if your computer is a
PPC-based G5 tower, or other older pre-Intel configuration. And I remember
your earlier questions about the iMac G4 and some other issues in the past.
You may ask the moderators to put your post in a new thread of its own, in the
Leopard 10.5 area; so as to not 'piggy-back' another topic; even though some
of the odd issues you've had seem similar to this OP's topic line and appear to
    be in the same general series of hardware. {The question here seems valid.}
The routine suggestions to check, test, verify, and perhaps repair or replace
the system; save a bootable clone to suitable external standalone device if
testing a suspect computer's viability is recommended; and the basics if not
already tried to help isolate the issue(s) as you've posted elsewhere, may be
of some help to try and do; so in that matter, a new thread of your own is best
for your own directed feedback. Since this kind of advice applies to most any
situation, including troubleshooting what may be hardware or software, I'm
adding my two and three-tenths cents worth here.
Your original included Apple Hardware Test may be of some help, in the process
of elimination; but is not conclusive, so other methods would be also suggested.
Some ideas appear to cover the same ground. However, system corruption or
disc failure can also manifest itself in odd ways & affect things indirectly for a time.

So, at the risk of inadvertently alienating the OP, I am posting this as
a general help to following readers at some later time; and it may not
be too simple for a refresh course.
Some software issues can be resolved by repairing disk permissions,
and re-applying the last OS X update Combo file over the same one
already in the system; or if not up-to-date already, check & repair all
the general items and then apply the last Combo update.
A too-full hard disk drive can compromise the system integrity, so that
is a matter of course to keep up on what resources exist and remain
for the OS X to function correctly and for apps to multi-task together.
    However that works out...
    Good luck & happy computing!

I bought Lenovo a800 few months ago, t'was working fine until 2 days ago, I can't seem to connect to Wifi and Bluetooth
Every time I turn on these 2 options it will just say
    Turning Bluetooth on...
then will be back to To see devices, turn Bluetooth on.
    and for Wlan/Wifi
it will say Turning WLAN on
then nothing will happen, the white indicatore for WLAN will just blink and even if it is not turned on it doesnt close or it cant be removed.
    Here is the picture

I have exactly the same problem. Have you fixed it already?

  • Airport Security, Speed and WDS Problems

I've been reading the posts here about the new AirPort "n". I also posted my own thread about the curious speed issues I've observed. BTW, my computers are all "" capable. An off-the-cuff summary (please correct me if I'm wrong):
    1. WDS in any practical form is hit or miss. Creating extended networks appears to be a basic non-starter, though AirTunes seems to work in many cases. Manual vs Assistant setup sometimes helps, but as an experienced user, I find this all a bit vexing.
    2. Enabling any kind of security has a predictable and detrimental impact on speed. Personally, I've seen WEP security grind formerly 5.7MB download speeds to less than 500, WPA routinely takes 5.5MB to less than 2MB, and turning off security but implementing Timed Access slows my network to less than 80kb download speed.
    3. Turning off security entirely seems in my case to allow the AirPort to function more or less properly. Of course, no security is unacceptable.
    4. There is a resignation to the idea that a future firmware update will fix what are fundamental problems with a perhaps too-early-released product.
I've been pretty methodical about my observations and tweaks -- resetting the unit to factory, sing the interface setup automation as needed, re-powering between changes. I've read about others ganging multiple AirPorts with success. While the new AirPort is not quite a doorstop, it appears to be not-ready-for-prime-time. Or maybe mine is just a lemon.
In my case, I've rectivated my previous-generation Extreme complete with security, AirTunes, network extension, etc (even used the new Utility to do all the setup). My speeds are happily back at 5.7MB down.
    Thoughts?

I appreciate the response. I'd usually agree that "operator error" is at the root. After over 20 years of using Apple products, this is the first that has me scratching my head. But I'm not new to this -- I built one of the first and largest Xsan installs in the U.S. I'm an early adopter, and most always an early success story.
As I said earlier, I've worked the scenarios very methodically. It could very well be that this is a hardware issue with this particular unit, or a higher percentage of units is failing than the norm. That would not be new - early new hardware in some Apple product line have experienced teething problems. Not a long term worry, though.
My next step is replacing the hardware, carefully observing serial numbers, etc.
The question, btw, is implicit -- is there something altogether simple that escapes me and a number of reasonable users that is causing a problem?

  • Photoshop cs4 new system integration and network problems

    Hi there!
I am new to the forums, but I will just dive right into my issue rather than introducing myself:
I recently did a new hardware install (16 TB of clustered storage) at a mograph studio that are heavy users of Photoshop CS4, amongst other things.  Prior to the new storage, they primarily used an Xserve with attached RAID device, and CS3.  They are now experience high amounts of file corruption on PSDs from saving over the network.  I am, of course, aware the Adobe does not support network saving, due to the plethora of problems that may exist and the difficulty of recreating such varied environments.  I also know that neither Apple nor Adobe seem overtly concerned with this problem, although they may have fixed it with updates in CS3.  The users are aware of this fact, but continue to stress that they had "no problems what so ever on the xserve".
Basically, aside from the facts that are available in http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406793.html and found on the forums, has ANYONE found an exceptable work around for these sort of issues.  Also, we tried the "save as" fix that was posted on these forums, and that did not work either.
Please, any help is extremely appreciated.  Thanks

If you have a working network and servers -- it can work. (and does for most of the servers inside Adobe, and those in my home)
But if anything (OS, network, server) malfunctions -- the process breaks in difficult to diagnose ways.
Photoshop is already following all the safe file save guidelines, testing for permissions, testing for space availability, etc.  But still things fail on networks.  And when we look into the failures, it's rarely the same cause and usually can't be worked around in any reasonable manner.
As application developers, we're frustrated too.  We know it can work.  We know it should work.  But some things are too far beyond our control.
Bottom line:  Finder and Explorer add a lot more error checking to server file copies, and do their copies in relatively simple patterns (unlike file saves that can involve random seeks and writes, depending on the format).  Saving locally and copying to the server afterward is going to be safer (adds at least 2 more layers of error checking).  The same goes for copying from the server then opening -- though we see far fewer errors reading from a server than writing to a server.

  • Airport and network problems after recent update

I want to know if someone is aware of what went wrong with the latest OS updates, all my computers forget my local wireless connection and sometimes I'm connected to my co-workers unprotected red. Airport just won't do its job.
This issue is really frustrating since several applications like Flash for example give you and error when saving a file after reconnecting to your network after a network loss.
If someone knows how to work this around to stop this annoying behavior please advise, I'm sure I am not the only one experiencing this.
    Regards

    Dear Eyewake,
I have had the same problem recently, after QuickTime 7.1.1 upgrade. The only way I can now get wireless access is to leave the network unprotected at factory settings. At least one other person posting to this discussion list has this problem in the last week, but no replies.
Do you know where else we can try to get help?

  • Item level security, workflow and tab problems

was wondering if someone could help us out with some problems we are having. We need to up and running over the next two days so anyone who could get back to us pretty quickly would be greatly appreciated.
We are actually having a couple of issues which all revolve around three
groups we have created (for simplicity we have only attached one user to each group). Here are the steps we took:
    Problems adding content:
    a) Added the three groups to the page group and gave them view access.
    b) Turned on approvals and set group3 as the approver.
    c) Added the three groups to the page and gave them view access.
    d) In the page properties, I enabled item level security.
    e) Added an item content area to the page.
    f) Added three pieces of simple content
    g) For content item1 I granted granted full access to group1(Own, manage, view), for content item 2 I granted full access to group2, etc.
    h) WHen I log on as a user in group1 I only see content item1. HOwever, when I edit the page I find I cannot add any items as user1.
    i) I went back to the page properties and changed the access of all three groups to "manage items with approval" but let the item level security as it was.
    j) When I logged on as user1 I found I could see all items now when I should only have seen content item1. What the hell? Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?
Problems with item level security on tabs:
    a) Repeat steps a) through d) above.
    b) Create a content region and add three tabs: Home, Work, Life.
    c) On the Work tab changed portlet region to item region.
    d) Added three items with security exactly as I did above.
    e) When I signed on as user1 I saw all three items when I only should have seen item1. What the hell?
    f) I monkeyed around with the secutiry at the tab level but it didn't seem to make much difference. ANyone have any ideas what is going on here?
    Thanks in advance.

Does the library have versions enabled? Also are these logins occuring within word/excel etc?
If there's multiple login prompts which occur even if entering valid credentials what does hitting escape (after the first prompt) achieve, does the document open anyway?
There's a situation where Office will prompt for credentials if you open a document when you've only got read access but there's a version history (to which you don't have access). This is to allow you to enter more highly privelidged credentials if you
    want to.

  • Massive RSS and Network Problems

When I try and refresh my RSS feeds I get an error message that says
*+There was an error updating the RSS feeds.+*
+Mail cannot start a session with the system-wide RSS service. No RSS feeds will be refreshed.+
Also when I click the RSS icon in safari I get an error that says
    *+Safari can’t open the page.+*
+Safari can’t open the page “feed://consumerist.com/index.xml” because it could not load any data from this location.+
Everything was fine. I went to my other house and used the wireless DSL network there. All was fine there but when I cam back to my main home I got this error. Safari seems a little slow and wonky also.
I have tried the wireless network and wired ethernet at my current location. I have tried creating a new network location and resetting safari. The weird thing is that I have a laptop and a desktop and the desktop works fine. It is sitting right next to the laptop on the same connection.

From what I understand, the corruption is occurring from RSS subscription in mail. I deleted the RSS subscriptions in mail and just use the reader in Safari.
Move /Users/yourusername/Library/PubSub/Database/Database.sqlite3 to the trash. Reboot. Empty the trash. Go into Safari and when you use your existing RSS or newly added RSS feed the database file will get recreated. My system seems to churn for a minute or so while rebuilding the database and pubsub had high activity in the activity monitor. All was fine after a few minutes and RSS was working again and the Database.sqlite3 was existing again in Users/yourusername/Library/PubSub/Database/Database.sqlite3
As a pre-caution I did make a zip of the original.
    Hope that resolves your problem!

  • Safari and Network problem

I have an MBP and a iMac 24" both Intel core 2 duo computers connected wirelessly to a BT home hub etc. I also have a MBP 2.16g Intel Duo.
The core 2 duo MBP and Imac both have network and browser issues where the older MBP is ok.
The network drops out and I have to reset them to re connect.
Safari and Firefox wont allow me to login to some web sites with user names and passwords like ebay where as the old MBP will login with no problems
Any ideas, all are up to date and checked for viruses etc

    The probable culprits could be:
    1. Preference files are damaged
    2. Cache file corruption
    3. Incompatible Contextual Menu Items
    4. Incompatible Input Managers
    5. Incompatible Internet Plug-ins
    6. Bad Startup Items
    7. Incompatible Preference Panes
These for starters. They would be items in the /Home/ or /Home/Library/ folder. I would suggest you start by installing AppleJack - VersionTracker or MacUpdate - then following the instructions to boot into single-user mode and run the AppleJack routines - use the automatic mode.
For Safari I would try clearing its history and other caches.

  • Administrator and Networking problems

We have several computers in the house, and the music library is stored on an external hard drive connected to the network.
In the network we can navigate simply to the hard drive and click on a song and itunes will play it.
    Now when i click
    file
    add folder to library
    (brings up directory tree)
i select network, and double click, or expand and nothing happens.
But if i click explore it opens in a new window and i canselect the network location and the folder.
Also if i try to change the itunes music location to the network location, it wont let me change it at all.
A copy of the daignostic is set out below.
Now i am the administrator, im logged on as administrator, and even started itunes as administrator.
