Lenovo Slim Power Adaptor and Targus/iGo Power Tips

I noticed that the Targus and iGo power tips are the same.  From pictures, I can not say the same is true with the Lenovo power tips.  Would Targus/iGo power tips work on the Lenovo Slim Power Adaptor?  There's a power tip that I need for my Jabra BT135 (micro-USB I think) which isn't supported by Lenovo.  Also, the Targus/iGo tip for my Motorola Q (mini-USB) can be found for less than the Lenovo.

What you'll probably find is that the malfunctioning battery is causing your issue. I would simply contact AppleCare, else a reseller, and arrange for a replacement ASAP.
One thing you can do in the meantime is to find a reseller that will allow to use one of their batteries (if you can't otherwise get it booted) to start your MBP and then put it to sleep. Once booted it should be ok to run off the power adapter alone.

hi.im buy a ibook g3 snow but it doesn't have a power adaptor.so i wanna buy a ibook g4's power adaptor.is is ibook g4s power adaptor and ibook g3s power adaptor same?

it will work but it is not advisable, ibook g3 requires a rating less amperage than the G4 and therefore comes with a 45w power supply (1.85 x 24.5 V) not 65W (2.65 x 24.5). Using the 65W the battery will wear out first and the logic board will be subjected to greater sress reducing life itself

  • Iphone power adaptor and car stereo interfereance

hi i have a ford focus with the sony mp3 player sound system, now i have an iphone and have recently puchased a iphone compatible car charger and a headphone extension jack to connect to the cars ipod socket. now when i play the iphones ipod fuction so it plays using the cars speakers, using battery power alone the music plays ok. however when i plug in the car power adaptor i hear interferance or something like this. very annoying, what part of this setup could be causing this?
all the parts ie the power adaptor and headphone extension jack are all iphone comptible.

well if it doesn't do it when the car charger isn't connected. i would try using a different car charger. that would be your first step to troubleshoot

  • I unplugged the power adaptor and suddenly, my mac started beeping repeatedly like an alarm. What does this mean?

I unplugged the power adaptor and suddenly, my mac started beeping repeatedly like an alarm. My mac was fully charged and would not start up. I pressed down on the restart button to reboot it and the noise stopped.
    What does this mean?

Hi, it indicates a RAM problem, (or Logic Board around the RAM).
The power on self-test resides in the ROM of the computer. This test runs whenever the computer is turned on after being fully shut down (the power-on self-test does not run if the computer is only restarted).
If a fault is detected during the test, you will not hear a normal startup chime. Instead, the system will beep as explained below. If you experience one of these beeps, you may call your Apple Authorized Service Provider for additional troubleshooting assistance.
1 beep  = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.
Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length.

  • Power adaptor and battery HOT!

This is the message I sent to Apple a few minutes ago. Maybe some of you can have some answers as well. Thanks!
    "Dear Apple,
First of all, I would like to kindly express my apologies for using the feedback form to send you some thoughts about my MAC. I did not know who else to address to.
I have bought my MAC in September 2009, through the Apple Store online. It has been delivered in Norway, where I am living in the present.
Unfortunately, I have never been very satisfied with it, due to two main issues.
First, I have noticed a problem with the battery and power adaptor since the very first day. They are both heating up very fast, after just some minutes, and then the mac is really, really slow (even if I have just one open application). I have tried a few times to go to a service provider in Oslo, but they said it's working fine. The first time I had a visit with a service was in the first week after I bought it. Then, when I had this screen problem, so I took advantage and I asked them to check again the battery (they had it for a week or two). They said it was fine. A few weeks ago I visited 3 different services with the same issue - no problems found.
Of course one could say that this is the proper way of working of a mac, but how can a mac work so slow when they all say it is so fast? I have asked around and none of my friends had a similar problem, since they've purchased it.
I decided to write you now due to the fact that a few days ago I had to use a friend's mac for some hours (which is older than mine, a simple MacBook; plus, he uses it much often than me). It was working perfectly! Not at all slow, no heating.
Then yesterday I had my power adaptor plugged in for half an hour - then I saw that the mac was not charging (how come?). When I touched the power adaptor, I literally burned my finger. Of course I got scared as well. I tried to change the power adaptor with another one - it did not get so heat up, but the battery of the mac was still burning, as usual. I used to keep my old PC in my lap, with the mac it was always impossible, unfortunately.
With lots of regrets I am writing this message. I have never felt that I had a 'real mac', like the other friends of mine, although I was so excited in the beginning. I sincerely hope that I am a unique user.
Now I am planning to sell it to someone (I don't think I can get even half of the price now, since it is pretty old) and get back to some usual PC. With all the regrets in the world, again, because some of the features were indeed really cool (like the trackpad, for eg).
Thank you for reading this! Good luck with your future products! And may God rest in peace Steve Jobs, I hope the business will not be affected.
    Best regards,
    Cristina Moldovan"

45W is definitely not correct for any 15" model. Here are the correct model power adapters:

Yes it can hurt and potentially create a fire hazard if you use the wrong adapter. Get the correct one.
As for the display resolution the 867 Mhz TiBook was released on this release as a:

  • Reusing an old power adaptor and old music

my 4th gen 20gig click wheel died...
i plan on getting a new 16gig nano
1 can i reuse the usb wall power adaptor that came free with the 4th gen?
or do i have to purchase the one shown as an optional purchase for the nano?
2 i presume i can upgrade my itunes 4 to itunes 9 and synch to my existing itunes music already on my pc??

tried wall power charger from 4th gen click wheel on nano..... nano spit out error message that it was wrong charger? docking connector looks to be the same but something in pinout or voltage? from older charger is unexceptable???
both will charge via usb with their own original usb cables ..... weird that wall chargers are different enough to have nano reject older charger????

  • Some of the 2811 router would power off and can't power up

We have some 2811 routers in our remoted offices. There wasn't any power surge or outage, but the router has no light and no power. Pressed power switch, didn't turn on. I have to leave the power switch button to ON, then unplug the power cord from the router and reseat it.
    It would work fine.
Has anyone experience this problem before?

This could be a cable issue as already mentioned. It could also be a marginal power supply problem. I've seen a problem like this on a PC recently and it turned out to be the power supply.

  • Difference between an apple brand power cord and a knockoff power cord?

So I bought a RocketFish branded 30-pin to USB power cord for my iPod Classic because I had to throw out the other one for wear and tear. I went to the store earlier to pick up a new one. I usually shop at Best Buy for all electronics and accessories. However, I came across an Apple branded 30-pin to USB cord and a RocketFish branded 30-pin to USB cord and was confused as I usually am about certain products. I asked an employee what the difference is and she couldn't give me a straight answer. So my question is what is the difference between the two brands? i need one that will charge and SYNC?
I have used the Apple brand power cord before and have no complaints except the wear and tear is very easy to do if you aren't careful with it.

They are basically the same except one is made in a Chinese factory for Apple and is Apple-branded. The other is just a knock-off.

  • HT201406 Tried to power on and tried to power off no response. Help!

I have tried and tried to slide the unlock on the screen. No response the arrow won't move. Tried to power off no response. The arrow will not move so I can't power off. Any solutions please help. I am lost without my phone. The phone rings. I can't answer it. It shows missed call but can't use the phone. Any suggestions.

try a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

  • IPhone will only power on while connected to the power cable and will not power on if I try to connect to iTunes/PC. I tried resetting and switching power off. What should I do?

    Can someone help?

If resetting and restoring didn't fix it, you need to bring it to an Apple store to be evaluated. Sounds like the battery may have died.

  • Battery charging and power adaptor issues

I'm having slight issues with both my power adaptor and the battery itself.
First I think I have cord issues as the light status can change from dim green to red or bright green if I move the cord around.
Second, my MBP is having trouble recognising if power is going to the battery or if it's charging etc. It can recognise if there's no adaptor connected at all, but if there's an adaptor connected, it has trouble seeing if there's power coming from the adaptor even if the light is on. I.e. it can stay at 100% and supply comes from the power adaptor and then suddenly drop to 80% power and start charging agan. One issue that happened earlier today was the adaptor was connected, and the battery indicator was at 100% with supply from the adaptor. Suddenly the MBP shutdown, and when I rebooted it was at 17% (I've tried repeating that in case of a dodgy battery but I couldn't)

If that doesn't help, the problem could be the adapter, the battery, or the I/O board (or a couple of less likely things). If you can borrow another adapter and/or battery, try them to see where the problem is. Or, if you're near an Apple Store, take it in and they'll diagnose it for you (for free, but they will charge for repairs if you need them and don't have AppleCare).

  • T61 power adaptors do nothing - won't run computer & won't charge battery

My T61 suddenly won't run on the power adaptor, or charge the battery.   I have several OEM power adaptors and none of them do anything plugged into this T61.  The computer runs fine on a battery charged in another T61.

Assuming the power adapters are good, you'll need to replace the motherboard.

  • Chromebook power adaptor

I'm one of the lucky early adopters who got a suspect power adaptor with an HP11 Ch romebook.
I've been asked to return it, and onscreen the instructions ask me to choose which type it is.
Unfortunately not only is the text on the picture of the power adaptor far too small and dark for my ageing eyes to read, but so is the text on my own power adaptor and the serial number on the bottom of the computer!.  And I don't have a magnifying glass, let alone a microscope!
I think I might have found the right computer serial number (It accepted the number I typed in, but I'm not sure I read it right).
    My questions:
1: Bearing in mind I've at least selected the right country (UK), will it make much difference to me if I chose the wrong one?
2: Is there any way of writing to HP/Google directly about this problem?  I can't see an email address or web form.
3:  (A more general question Why oh why is all information on electronic equipment SO **bleep** SMALL?  Is there a reason for making it illegible to any eyes beyond teenage years and without a magnifying glass?  For reference, I am shortsighted but don't need specs to type on the Chromebook.
    Thanks.

Since you must get the information from the label on the power adapter I suggest asking for assistance from a family member or friend. Otherwise you will have to find or purchase a magnifying glass so you can read the fine print.

  • Do both of Apple Store's iPod power adaptors work with the new Touch 2G?

    Hi,
Many thanks in advance for your attention.
Looking to to get an Apple USB power adaptor for the iPod Touch 2G.
In the Apple Store, two are listed, one smaller (and newer) than the other. In the newer one, the prongs are not retractable; in the larger (older) one, they are.
    1. Does anyone know if the larger (and older) power adaptor works with the iPod Touch 2G USB-only interface?
    2. I know that many power adaptors and speakers and car adaptor sets, etc. in the past had a combo Firewire/ USB power interface. That is why the new iPod Touch 2G (or iPhone 3G) does not charge up or power up with these speakers and chargers, etc. (Speakers such as the original Bose Sound Dock).
    3. Is it true that the older (larger) power adaptor works better in all kinds of power situations (different outlets, etc. in different countries); that the older (larger) power adaptor is more travel-versatile? The Apple store perhaps notes a difference, noting that the newer power adaptor works only with USA-style outlets. I see no such note with the older adaptor.
    4. Finally, does anyone know of a USB-only interface that would work with the iPod Touch 2G that is not Apple's (and perhaps not as insanely priced)?

    Many thanks for further clarifying.
I don't know 100% for sure that the Apple USB cable for the iPod Touch is different than the Apple USB cable for the iPod Touch 2G.
    But:
I have read (somewhere) that the tiny pin connectors are different. That is why an iPod Touch 1G could be charged by (for example) a Logitech mm50 Speaker set and an iPod Touch 2G cannot.
An iPod Touch 2G can still connect to the Logitech mm50 Speaker set. It will still play and you will hear music. But it is no longer charging. And I have read of iPod Touch 2Gs getting very hot in these cradles. That can't be good for the poor iPod in the long run.
So for the Apple USB power adaptors to work, (which both came out before the iPod Touch 2G), they must have some override or blocked pin if they can work with both generations of iPod Touches.
