  • Lenovo Solution Center install problem - Error 1721

Hello, I'm trying to install Lenovo Solution Center to my computer again, after not properly uninstalling it. I simply deleted the files and repaired the registry thinking that it would be fine, and it is not.
I'm getting the Error 1721 upon installing, installer tries to execute 'KillProcessLSC.exe' under Lenovo Solution Center folder and it cannot, since I deleted them. I need the files under Lenovo Solution Center folder so I can make the installer pass the 'Killing LSC' step, or at least think it passed.
I got the idea to fixing it from this post. The guy restored the files from Recycle Bin and installer worked just fine. Since I already cleared my Recycle Bin and I did this over a year ago I cannot get the files from recycling. I simply need the files so I can make the installer execute the program it wants and passes that step that I get stuck on. If any other solution is available I'm free to try it, otherwise I'm pretty much sure putting the files in the Lenovo Solution Center folder will fix it. Thanks.

    @bl8demast3r,
    Your post 1 stated:
Whenever I try to run the hardware scan I get the error:
"Lenovo Solution Center service is not available. Please restart the application, or reboot your computer if the problem persists."
Your later post mentioned Scheduled scan, I assume LSC hardware scan.
    ===
Lsc during the last year has had issues where LSC software fails during a  manual run of hardware scan. Symptoms include Lsc service not available. You have the latest version of LSC.  Monitor what you see and post back if the "service not available"  screen shows up. Describe if this hardware scan was done manualy or a result of the scheduled monhtly run.

  • Hardware Scan Failure using Lenovo Solution Center G580

    I have a G580 Laptop, it's lessa than a year old now.
I use both Hard Disk Sentinel (HDS) and Lenovo Solution Center (LSC).
HDS showed an alert that one weak sector has been found.
LSC gave this result code after the hardware scan WHD01V00I-HJ9C1E, it failed the "Targeted read test" and "SMART short self-test". How can I fix these problems and what do they mean?
    Thank you.

    hi Casanova8,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Smart Tests are critical for the HDD Performance and functionality.
I would suggest running another test using HDTune

  • A740 Hardware Scan : Der Lenovo Solution Center Service ist nicht verfügbar

Idea A 740 All-in-one: Der Hardware-Scan mit dem Lenovo Solution Center führt zur Fehlermeldung:

  • StorLib error message in the Lenovo Solution Center

I keep getting an error message under the device manager tab in the Lenovo Solution Center.
It says under drivers - 'StorLib bus (virtualstorage support)', status is 'Uninstalled'.
I can't find anything anywhere about this or how to correct the issue.
    Any help out there?
    Moderator Note; subject edited.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    The device manager pops up the screen with all the 'devices' . When I expand 'other devices', the storlib bus shows up with a yellow triangle and ! mark. Double clicking brings up  a window, with status;
"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."
When I try to update it, no driver can be found.
One option os to uninstall it. Guess that would get rid ot the error if it is something not being used.

  • Error 1721 on repair/uninstall/reinstall of Lenovo Solution Center Windows 8 64-bit

    Hello,
I am seeking a solution to a problem with Lenovo Solution Center on a Lenovo W530 machine running Win 8 64-bit.
It was not updating the warrantee information, and so I attempted an install with the newest version of the program. It refused to uninstall. Lenovo support then decided that the best approach was to eliminate the directory containing the program.
Now I still have the program listed in my installed programs, but there is nothing I can do with it. It does not appear on my desktop (not surprisingly) but does not uninstall and using the new install package does NOT provide the option of install, but solely to uninstall or repair, neither of which works - giving the error 1721 message.
Next steps? (Tier 2 was to phone me over 1 week ago - no call....).

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

After trying al the hints without effect, the last hint with the "MS FixIt"
    -Tool finally solved the problem!!!!!
It found 2 older {xxxxxxxxxxxxxx} registry entries from 2 former manual
updates which caused the problem. I had to run it 2 times for removing all
    error-causing problems.
After that ,the last version of the Lenovo Solution Center Windows 64-bit
package was able to install perfectly and is now running without any
    problems .
This solution I was looking for the last 3-4 months!!!!!!!
Thanks very very much ,for your perfect & profound help!
May I post this full solution letter of yours into the Lenovo forum, plse.??
I saw many people with the same 1721-fault searching for help too!
    Again many thanks
    Yours sincerely

Hi ilir1992, welcome to the forum.
    See this thread:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaCentre-Desktops-Home-Servers/Q190-and-Lenovo-Solution-Center-Softwar...
You should you run the Lenovo system update, that you can download here:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_IN/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?LegacyDocID=TVSU-UPDATE
It may not find any package for your system, however: after it bombs out, and you close the app, it will get rid of the warning "!" on the interface.

    Hey everybody

I hope somebody can help me here with my problem.
It's definitly the harddrive. But what is the problem? How serious?
    Hardware Scan:
    Result Code: WHD01V01I-WJEWKD
    Date run: 02/10/2014 - 18:19
    Device: Seagate-ST9500420AS-5VJEJQEM

    Thanks for the help
    Best, chris.

    Hi,
Do you have an mSATA or other SSD in your T520 along with the HDD?  Did you get the error during a full machine scan?  If so, try running the scan on the HDD alone w/out running a full scan.

  • T430 - Hardware Scan Error

I received my T430 today running Win7 Pro.  Has a 180 gb SSD as boot drive and a 500 HDD secondary drive in the optical bay.
After running all updates for Windows, I went into the Lenovo solution center and ran system updates, which included updates for the light, for the display, etc...along with BIOS update.
Next I ran Hardware scan in the Lenovo Solution Center and got an error for the Intel SSD drive, the error was 'Targeted read test' = Failed.
While still in the Lenovo Solution Center, I clicked on 'System' -> 'Storage Devices'.  I noticed that the 'Primary Drive' under Storage Devices is showing it to be my 500 HDD drive;  And the 'Additional Drive 2' under Storage Devices showing my SSD drive.
    1. how do I correct this error above.  'Targeted Read Test'  failed
    2. is this error possibly related to my SSD not being recognized as the Primary Drive.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi, Markov55
I did some research and found this thread from the forums here. It seems that several users purchased Lenovo Twists and had the SSD fail this test as well. Many of them, however, discovered that both drives passed the Targeted Read Test if tested independently. So I would try testing them one at a time and see if it still happens.
As for the primary drive, which of the two drives is Windows installed on? You can go to Disk Management by following this path: Control Panel ► Administrative Tools ► Computer Management ► Disk Management. Here you can select the your drives and change the letter and path of them, with C:\ being the main drive normally.
    Hope it helps,
    Adam

  • Lenovo Solution Center

I have tried to get onto my Lenovo Solution Center to check things on there however it is coming up as "LSC is unable to run because a required file is missing". It then tells me to reinstall it and try again. I have tried several times to uninstall and reinstall. I have even tried the repair option via control panel, however the same error is coming up... Please help!

I'm sorry you are having this trouble.  Could you please let us know what version of Lenovo Solution Center is currently installed and having this problem?
Could you please tell us the name and version of the anti-virus software you are using?
If you go into the anti-virus software, are there any removed/quarantined files that seem related to Lenovo Solution Center?
This is only our first idea to troubleshoot this problem.  If there's no obvious clue in the anti-virus software, would you be willing to let us remote into your system for further debugging?

  • Lenovo Solution Center Alert

    Hello all,
I just bought the Lenovo Yoga 14 and I keep getting an alert from the lenovo solution center. The alert is about hard disk free space, saying that the hard drive has less than 9.5% of its capacity. Why would that be an alert? Plus I just bought it so the hard drive should be empty anywyays. After checking out the problem, it appears to be that the ssd is the one leading to the alert(I thought that the caching ssd was used mostly for launching apps and programs anyways). Has anyone had this problem before?
    Thanks,
