Lenovo Solution Center Showing Wrong Warranty

I bought my Lenovo G500 laptop in December 2013. It has 1 year warranty. Today I installed Lenovo Solution Center and saw that it shows wrong warranty.
According to Lenovo Solution Center, the warranty is set to expire on September 22, 2014. But its wrong since I bought the laptop just around Christmas in 2013.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Hi Mayank,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
There was an initial bug in LSC where extended warranty was not accurately shown and this was addressed in version 1.1.006.  Several changes to the functionality of warranty lookup have been implemented in different versions of LSC to address other considerations.
In some cases, the Lenovo Solution Center is displaying a message, “Unable to determine warranty”, for the System and displaying a message, “not available”, for the Battery.
This could occur on any Lenovo system running Windows 7 or 8 and running LSC.
These will be solved in version 2.0.018 or higher of LSC.
Warranty status can be checked on the Lenovo support site at any time:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_IN/product-service/warranty-status/default.page?
Do post us back for further queries.
Best Regards
Shiva Kumar

  • Lenovo solution center shows warranty expires today while it gets okay after refreshing.

Lenovo solution center shows warranty expires today while it gets okay after refreshing. I need to refresh this every time i reboot my machine i.e. T430.

LSC has not been working for a long time. Each release seems to have bugs in it as far a warranty access is concerned. After the last update I ran which still could not access the server. I seems to have uninstalled itself. The startup is gone everywhere on my systems. I haven't checked Control Panel for it since it still is a garbage tool now. ThinkVantage thread in the community still has posters indicating the problem is continuing. Each time you launch it if there is an update it wants to install it. LOL But that software is of little use anyway. The diagnostics is poor as well.

  • Lenovo Solution Center shows disabled devices

I have just upgraded to the latest version of Lenovo Solution Center in order to resolve the problem of Unknown Warranty, but now it is showing many printers as disabled devices - but Device Manager is not listing these printers. I do not know where these printer have come from - I do not have any of them.

I am having a similiar/related issue.  Solution Center indicates a Device is having a problem, that it is an Unknown Device and is Not Installed.
I cannot identify any devices in Device Manager that are having issues.
I have a 13" Yoga and am running the latest version of Solution Center (2.0.019).
    Any suggestions?

  • X230 - Graphic(GUI) of the LSC(Lenovo Solution Center) seems weird..

    Hello,
This is my first time to post a thread in this community (just bought my brand new x230 model yesterday )
Everything seems working fine, however, every time I open up the LSC(Lenovo Solution Center), it displays as below:
    Link to picture
Please ignore the language (OS is Korean version).
Anyhow, the graphic seems black GUI instead of the orginal version.
It seems like something is conflicted each other...Or is it just my computer problem?
To figure out, what I tried was to delete the program and re-install it, however, it happens again (first 2 or 3 times work fine..)
Can I solve this grapih issue? D:

  • Can´t see warrenty information in Lenovo Solution Center

    Hello
I try to post my issue here because I can´t find a place for the Lenovo IdeaPad g series laptops in the Lenovo forum.
I have installed the latest version of Lenovo Solution Center but when I go to Support and Warranty it just say Not available at enddate and type.
I don´t know whats wrong. If I go to lenovo.com - Support - Warrenty and Services - Check warrenty status - then I use my serial number and machine type and click Submit and then I can see my startdate and enddate with no problem.
The problem is I can´t see my warrenty information in Lenovo Solution Center.

    Hi LVT1989,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

  • Windows 8 - Lenovo Solution Center claiming problem wih disabled printer (but it's not disabled)

I have an HP printer for which I needed to replace the stock Windows 8 printer driver with HP's full featured driver.  Since I did that, Lenovo Solution Center [LSC] complains (under Check-up> Device Manager) that "one or more devices have problems" and it lists my Officejet 4500 G510n-z as "disabled".  When I go to device manager to check the status of my printers, I see a print queue category of devices, and all of them, including the two associated with the printer, are enabled and "working properly".
Under what circumstances does Solution Center determine that a device is disabled?  How do I convince Solution center it is making the wrong assessment ;-)....or perhaps there is something wrong but looking at Device Manager doesn't tell me so???  Is there another place I should check?
I finally solved the wan miniport problem (thanks to other posters), so now I have 1 problem left to fight to be able to rid myself of unwarranted exclamation marks from LSC.

I have same problem after completely installing the HP full solution driver and application support for the printer. It's the "Multifunction Adapter" category in Device Manager that causes LSC to show the error. I already have a Z: Sendto device that corresponds to the SD Card for the printer, but have nothing inserted. If I attempt to Update Driver for the multi-function adapter, it's not finding driver on Internet (Windows Update) and not finding a signed driver for Windows 8 under Update Driver, Printer driver support if you choose the locate on c: drive and point to the correct HP printer. Interesting also, I have three "discovered" HP printers, all showing "Disabled" Multi-Function adapters under Device Manager by LSC.

  • Unknown device in Lenovo Solution Center Helix

It's not causing any problems, but it's killing me to know there is an unknown device that I can figure out what it is!!!  Talk about Fly in the Ointment.
Why is it there?  Why doesn't windows not know what it is?  What's it's motivation?
No external devices plugged in, wireless printer driver installed and working correctly.
This is one for Sherlock, or THE LENOVO COMMUNITY
I looked in device manager, nothing is popping out saying "Hey I'm unknown"
Lenovo Solution Center sees it but doesn't have a fix for it, and it gives me that smug number 1 with a red circle around it under check up (the nerve!).  Taunting me that something is not right and there's nothing I can do about it.
Help me Obi Wan Kanobi, your my only hope!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Lenovo Solution Center currently has a bug that happens on systems with touchscreens, it shows an unknown device like you say, even though there isn't anything wrong.
There is supposedly an update to LSC coming this week or next, it should fix this bug.
And there is something you can do about it, click on the "remind me" option and then select "never", then LSC won't bug you about this non-issue anymore.  Sorry for this inconvenience caused by LSC.

  • StorLib error message in the Lenovo Solution Center

I keep getting an error message under the device manager tab in the Lenovo Solution Center.
It says under drivers - 'StorLib bus (virtualstorage support)', status is 'Uninstalled'.
I can't find anything anywhere about this or how to correct the issue.
    Any help out there?
    Moderator Note; subject edited.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    The device manager pops up the screen with all the 'devices' . When I expand 'other devices', the storlib bus shows up with a yellow triangle and ! mark. Double clicking brings up  a window, with status;
"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."
When I try to update it, no driver can be found.
One option os to uninstall it. Guess that would get rid ot the error if it is something not being used.

  • Hardware Scan Failure using Lenovo Solution Center G580

    I have a G580 Laptop, it's lessa than a year old now.
I use both Hard Disk Sentinel (HDS) and Lenovo Solution Center (LSC).
HDS showed an alert that one weak sector has been found.
LSC gave this result code after the hardware scan WHD01V00I-HJ9C1E, it failed the "Targeted read test" and "SMART short self-test". How can I fix these problems and what do they mean?
    Thank you.

    hi Casanova8,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Smart Tests are critical for the HDD Performance and functionality.
I would suggest running another test using HDTune
    Let me know your findings

  • Cannot Upgrade Lenovo Solution Center

When I try to upgrade to the latest version of Lenovo Solution Center on my Edge E520, the installation of Adobe AIR 64 fails.  I tried rebooting and the same thing happens, and I am trying running as administrator and not as administrator.  So I uninstalled the old version and tried to install from scratch and now I can't do that either so I am stuck without a working version of LSC.

Sorry for some odd reason I didn't get notified when you posted your original reply, so I will give that a try in the next few days and post back an answer.
I uninstalled the original version of LSC not AIR -  I tried to uninstall AIR but I could not because it does not show in the list of installed programs which seems odd.
Also TVSU told me there was a new version of LSC available, and I downloaded it.  Supposedly it was installed but when I rebooted, it was still running the old 1.1.007.00 version which is not the new version that was supposedly installed (2.4.003) - which is not the version on the Lenovo web site (2.5.002).
It fails both when trying to install via direct install of 2.5.002 from lenovo.com, and when trying to update from the self update offered from the Lenovo Message Center.

  • Lenovo Solution Center install problem - Error 1721

Hello, I'm trying to install Lenovo Solution Center to my computer again, after not properly uninstalling it. I simply deleted the files and repaired the registry thinking that it would be fine, and it is not.
I'm getting the Error 1721 upon installing, installer tries to execute 'KillProcessLSC.exe' under Lenovo Solution Center folder and it cannot, since I deleted them. I need the files under Lenovo Solution Center folder so I can make the installer pass the 'Killing LSC' step, or at least think it passed.
I got the idea to fixing it from this post. The guy restored the files from Recycle Bin and installer worked just fine. Since I already cleared my Recycle Bin and I did this over a year ago I cannot get the files from recycling. I simply need the files so I can make the installer execute the program it wants and passes that step that I get stuck on. If any other solution is available I'm free to try it, otherwise I'm pretty much sure putting the files in the Lenovo Solution Center folder will fix it. Thanks.

    @bl8demast3r,
    Your post 1 stated:
Whenever I try to run the hardware scan I get the error:
"Lenovo Solution Center service is not available. Please restart the application, or reboot your computer if the problem persists."
Your later post mentioned Scheduled scan, I assume LSC hardware scan.
    ===
Lsc during the last year has had issues where LSC software fails during a  manual run of hardware scan. Symptoms include Lsc service not available. You have the latest version of LSC.  Monitor what you see and post back if the "service not available"  screen shows up. Describe if this hardware scan was done manualy or a result of the scheduled monhtly run.

  • Lenovo Solution Center Windows 10 On Thinkpad Edge 15

Just upgraded to Windows 10.  Ran Windows Update from Control Panel a couple of times.  However, the Lenovo Solutions Center alerts showing Windows Upgrade never done.  When I click on "launch" or "Windows Update" nothing happens.  The is on a Thinkpad Edge 15.  I was hoping to find a download for the Lenovo Solution Center software thinking I could delete it and then download it and reinstall to solve the problem.  Obviously if there is another way that would be nice to know.

I have same problem on a diiferent model Lenovo desktop PC. If you want to try reinstalling the solution centre software, you can find it here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/lenovodiagnosticsolutions/tools/lscoverview Let me know how this goes, I might also try this myself.

  • Lenovo Solution Center says Windows Update needed Windows 10

Thanks for your help, I have the Lenovo B50-30 AIO and recently upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Everything seemed to go flawlessly with the exception of one small problem. I am constantly being nagged by the Lenovo Solution Center to Update my Operating System. When I run Windows update, it says 'No Available Updates', yet LSC still nags me with that screen. When I go into LSC and click on the Launch button to fix the problem, nothing happens. Is this a problem with LSC or is there something that I am doing wrong?

    All,
I've shared this conversation with our LSC development team and here is how I understand the siutation...
LSC 2.8 was tested with Windows 10, but this situation occurs because Windows 10 does not fill in the update date after the OS install.   After 1 day, and the date changes, the symptoms should go away.
We are working on improving this in the next version fo LSC 3.1 which is a few weeks away...
    Edit:
Speedwell, I've also noted the launch button issues with the team to re-test and make sure works properly.
Update 8/5/15 - confirmed launch button issue on 2.8.5 and lower.  This is going to be addressed in a new version.
An interrim support tip is being released on our support site to explain the work around:
    1) Navigate to taskbar
    2) Type "Windows update" in teh search the web and windows field
    3) Select "Check for Updates" at the top of the search results
    4) The Windows update will appear
    5) Select check for updates button
Apologies that this did not work as intended, and I appreciate your patience as we release an updated version.
    Best regards,
    Mark
