Lenovo square tip adapter Genuine vs Cheap

Hi everyone,
I was browsing around for accessories for my X1C and i found that to use my old power supplies that i had from the T60 era i needed a conversion cable.
This conversion cable comes in three flavors that i deem worthy of mentioning.
The first adapter is the original lenovo adapter that has the FRU numbers: 0b47046/0A36037/03X6261
Image: http://img02.taobaocdn.com/imgextra/i2/39789973/T2Q8DwXdJaXXXXXXXX_!!39789973.jpg
This one appears to be square at the round end for some reason, i suspect some filtering is happening there.
In addition this adapter is horrifically expensive for a 5" piece of cable.
The other two appear to be cheaply made adapters that seem simpler.

http://www.amazon.com/Connector-Converter-Essential-Compatible-Ultrabook/dp/B00FYYR5M8
My question is:
Is there any reason to buy the expensive lenovo adapter?
Might there be some sort of voltage ripple/noise regulation that is nessary for the well being of the X1C?
My main concern is that if I'd bought the cheap simple adapter, that would kill my V/Rs on the motherboard over time, resulting in an unstable machine that wont live long, beating the whole point in buying an expensive thinkpad.
Any toughts guys?

I'm not aware of any. It's doubtful because this is 20VDC.
FWIW I use a non-OEM adapter with my X1C2 with no negative effects.
Incidentally I don't like the design of the Afunta and similar adapters because they stick out the side of the X1C2 quite far and are more vulnerable to being bumped into. Also because they're longer the extra leverage when bumped could break the socket in the X1C2. I use the cabled version for these reasons.

    i used to have each of those tips when i had the lenovo AC/DC adapter so answering the question was easy.
    in the salespeople's defense, not all of them are briefed on each and every product offering.   sometimes you need to call tech support to get answers about finite details like the above.   or, just post on the forum... that usually nets good results.

  • Filename Format in FTP Delivery Channel - oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.allTPInOne

    Hi,
    For Inbound SFTP transfer is there a way to avoid using standard B2B file-naming convention at source files?
    We tried the following for B2B host external delivery channel (SFTP) which would pick up the files from trading partner directory -
    1. Set oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.allTPInOneDirectory = false
    2. Create a directory specific to the trading partner and have the Trading Partner drop the files in the Trading Partner specific folder.
    However, it did not work; the transfer was successful only when standard file name format was specified and used for files.
    We are using 'Oracle B2B 10.1.2 MLR16' version - is this feature not available in this version?
    Sincerely,
    CD

    Thanks Anuj

    preserve filename=true
    filename=SampleFile.txt
    filename format (specified in host external delivery channel) =%FROM_PARTY%_%TO_PARTY%_%DOCTYPE_NAME%_%DOCTYPE_REVISION%
    fullpath=/../SystemB/SampleFile.txt SystemB is the remote trading partner (FROM_PARTY); it has generic identifier created with same name.
    The transfer works if the filename is in this format: %FROM_PARTY%_%TO_PARTY%_%DOCTYPE_NAME%_%DOCTYPE_REVISION%. Do any of the other parameters for delivery channel such as directory name format, Directory name format separator need to be used/updated?

  • Macbook pro shuts off as soon as charger is disconnected. Will only charge with older square tip charger and not the newer "L" magsafe charger it originally came with.

    I have a 2011 macbook pro. I recently spilled some water on top of the macbook while it was off and charging (closed). Some water got to the charging port so I immediately disconnected the charger. Right away I brought it to ibreakufix and they looked through and told me there were no issues. I plugged it back into the charger to see if it would turn on and the "L" shaped magsafe charger it came with would not light up or charge the MB and it would not turn on. At the store, the person showed that it turned on using the older square tip charger. I went to apple thinking the charger was bad but that was not the case, tried a new charger (L) and still did not work. I came home and plugged in my older macbook charger (square tip) and it worked fine as it did at the shop but as soon as I unplug the charger, the MB shuts off. I took off the bottom and switched the battery with my other macbook thinking the battery might have shorted out but it still shut off. Battery display indicates that it is charging and in fact charged up to 100% but as soon as charger is disconnected it shuts off. Oddly when I plug in the newer "L" charger and disconnect the battery from the macbook, the charger lights up and powers on the MB. Any thoughts?

  • What about: oracle.tip.adapter.custom.outbound.CustomInteractionSpec ?

    Hi all,
    I am trying to configure a custom outbound JCA adapter through BPEL, using the following link as guide-line:
    [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10231/life_cycle.htm#BABBCCGC]
    My current installation consists of Oracle SOA Suite 11g / JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.4.0)
    After adding the custom adapter into the composite, the following _custom.jca file is produced:
    <adapter-config name="CustomAdapter"
      adapter="Custom Adapter"
      wsdlLocation="CustomAdapter.wsdl"
      xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
      <connection-factory location="jca/CustomAdapter"/>
      <endpoint-interaction portType="execute_ptt" operation="execute">
        <interaction-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.custom.outbound.CustomInteractionSpec"/>
      </endpoint-interaction>
    </adapter-config>I've no idea what oracle.tip.adapter.custom.outbound.CustomInteractionSpec is. Does such a class exist ?
    Can't find it in my SOA installation folders. Should I replace it with my custom adapter's class name that implements
    the InteractionSpec interface (i.e. <package_name>.MyCustomInteractionSpec) ?
    Moreover, how does Weblogic "find" the specified class ? I mean, should this class be placed in a specific folder of
    the SOA installation ?
    Thank you for your time. Hope to get some feedback
    George

    I don't know if this is the answer or not, but at least worth a try.
    A few years ago, JBoss was VERY unforgiving if installed on a windows machine with a space in the path. Most JBoss functionality would work fine, but in some situations, it would complain about the URL, just as it has in your case. It looks to me as if you do have a space in your path. I don't know if they ever got around to fixing it (I filed the original bug on the JBoss bug system). It's at least worth a try, or at least a search through the JBoss site to see if this issue still exists.

  • Implementing oracle.tip.adapter.api.record.XMLRecord

    I have a working custom JCA adapter, except it is not returning objects which implement the oracle.tip.adapter.api.record.XMLRecord class. I would do this except I cannot find that library anywhere to include in my classpath, so I cannot implement it.
    Where can I get this so I can implement it? Any help would be much appreciated.

    In case anybody else runs into this issue... I included jar files of my oracle installation until I found the right one. I think the orabpel.jar had this, or the orablpel-thirdparty.jar.

Note that file never gets picked up as no instances are shown in the em console.
    Any suggestions ? Kind regards..

    Hi Vlad,
    The file is opaque format, so I'm not using the builder for the file. I did for another project do a file adapter using a wizard for a space delimited file, but it seems that during file polling it's throwing the same exception. So for the two files which are of type opaque and delimited format, using the file adapter wizard, I'm getting the same exception I posted earlier:

    Anyone know where I can get a slim tip (female) to barrel tip (male) adapter?  I want to use the new rectangular tip power supply to charge my older x220.

  • Lenovo X60 power adapter broken down

    The power adapter of my Lenovo X60 laptop broke down and I'd like to fix it.
    Since I don't have a schematic I'm just checking and trying to find out the damaged part. I've replaced a power MOS transistor but it seems to be ok. I've also checked the trafo and several diodes and all of them seem to work.
    There are three IC's whose part numbers I can barely read. One of them seems to be an optocoupler.
    I was wondering if someone could tell me where to find a schematic and a part list. Thanks!.

    You may be able to find something via Google, e.g. this for the charging circuitry in a Lenovo dock that may give some hints. Keep in mind that (1) it's not an official Lenovo schematic and (2) you use it at your own risk.
    IMO it's cheaper and easier to buy a used adapter on eBay or similar. But I do appreciate that there's a challenge and satisfaction that comes from fixing a broken device on your own

    Hey there,  I'm a complete tech numskull, so pardon me if this is incredibly naive.  I recently made an impulse buy of an off-brand "Universal Laptop DC car charger power adapter" with the hopes of using it in a car with my Lenovo G530.  I haven't gotten it yet but after purchasing it, I noticed the power adapter that came with my Lenovo  is "AC."  Is it possible to us the DC adapter with my laptop, where my cord says "AC"?  I obviously don't want to fry my laptop and was wondering what I should look out for.  The adapter was pretty cheap, which is another red flag but it also means I won't be out much if I made a mistake in buying it (ebay purchase).
