Guten Tag,
ich habe auf meinem Lenovo T60 Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit installiert. Jetzt zu meinem Problem, die Hotkeys bzw. die FN Tasten gehen nicht da der Treiber Patch nicht installiert werden kann. Ich hoffe auf eine schnelle Hilfe.

Problem with lenovo t60 and the vga output

I have a problem with the vga output and the lenovo t60
When i put the videoprojector connector in to the lenovo t 60, the projector reponde is:
Not supported
H: 48.20khz v: 143,10 hz
On my desktop pc the projector function on 1024x768 resolution and the 60 hz to refresh.
The same configurations are on my laptop and the projector doesn't function
Please help me.

I too have this problem. My T61 worked fine for about a year, and then suddenly would no longer project. I had made no changes to the settings for the external display, though since the problem started I've tried many combinations without success. Typically the projector reports that the frequency settings the laptop is sending are unsupported. In my case the vertical rate is usually correct (60 Hz) but the horizontal rate varies wildly.
I suspect a hardware problem, as this post suggests: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/av-multimedia-related/32128-laptop-wont-display-projector.html. (Note the message claiming that 6 out of 40 Lenovo laptops exhibited this problem.)
Since my system is still under warranty I guess I'll have to get it repaired, but I'd rather hear of a software fix...

Install Windows 7 on Lenovo t60

I have a lenovo t60 core2duo 1.83ghz 2gb ram and i have Windows vista it possible to put Windows 7?

Yes it will run W7 just fine. Stay with a 32-bit version, though, especially if you don't want to upgrade the RAM.
It takes about 10 minutes to remove the keyboard/palmrest and swap the DIMMs, even if you've never done it before, though...

Recommend a SSD that works in a Lenovo T60 (type 2007-CTO) !!!
I will install a SSD HD on confirmation of fully working with my Lenovo T60.
Have tested a Inel SSD 530 (model: SSDSC2BW180A4) fw: DC12.
This disk hangs during installation of both
Windows 7 at " Windows loading"
Also tested to install Ubuntu 14.04 but this also hangs after aprox 30 sec.
Please advice:
BIOS version 2.26
Tested both SATA AHCI and Compatibility. with no difference.
Please advice.

Welcome to the forum!
Try avoiding SSDs with a SandForce controller, I've experienced quite a few issues with them on this generatioon of ThinkPads. Intel's 520 and 530 are such drives, amongst others.
Crucial M4/500/550/MX1, Samsung 830/840 Pro, Intel 320/730 should all work fine.

Cannot use recovery cd`s of lenovo T60 series thinkpad

hi i am manu and i am using a lenovo T60 series thinkpad laptop.
lastday operating system crashed and up on one of my friends i installed a windows xp evaluation version (only after installation i came to know it was evaluation and needs activation).
after all these only i checked my recovery cds and its manual. by that time every thing in the hard disk has been formatted.now when i insert recovery cd 1 and it continues till 2% and then hangs down. after some time message shows that files have been recovered and remove disks and restart. but when restarted this is what is shown please help me....

your recovery cds, are these cds which you created yourself, or are they from Lenovo?
Please also state how many discs you have and what they are named.
This information will enable members to offer you hopefully the right solution.

Lenovo T60 Black SCREEN

A problem I turn to you, you have a 2007 (?) Lenovo T60 notebook om, but nowadays anything doing that when I play a game (in this case, GTA SA) then after an add about five minutes, the monitor goes blank and you have to restart the machine. In this case, in principle, the GPU temperature goes up to a maximum of 75 to 80 degrees. However, when he did not go to cooling (no) then was relieved that the GPU is 90-98 degrees and not turned off.
Currently I'm using Windwos XP operating system.

PageMaker unter Windows7?

Guten Tag,
mein Arbeitsplatz-PC soll auf Windows 7 umgestellt werden. Seit Jahren arbeite ich mit PageMaker, jetzige Version ist: 7.0.
Eine Nachfolge-Alternative wäre InDesign. Hier hatte ich bereits versucht, ein Dokument zu öffnen, das Ergebnis war grauenhaft. Kein einziges Format hat mehr gestimmt.
Der Designer, welcher die Vorlagen vor x-Jahren entworfen hat, ist nicht mehr beschäftigt. Falls PageMaker nicht mehr unter Windows7 läuft, bin ich etwas ratlos, wie ich meine Dokumente weiter bearbeiten soll.

Ich habe jetzt die ersten Dateien überarbeitet.
Während bei InDesign CS2 die Fehlerausschrift: "Das Pagemaker-Dokument ist beschädigt und kann nicht wiederhergestellt werden" kommt, lassen sich die Dateien in InDesign CS4 problemlos öffnen. Und nach einer kurzen Schulung mit einer InDesign-erfahrenen-Mitarbeiterin ist auch die Überarbeitung doch nicht soo schlimm.
Etwas Eigenartiges fällt mir jetzt noch auf:
Wenn die Datei unter InDesign abgespeichert und als PDF exportiert wird, steht im PDF unter Dokumenteigenschaften, Anwendung: Adobe InDesign CS4 (6.0.6)
Nehme ich jetzt ein noch unter PM erstelltes PDF-Dokument und ersetze die Seiten mit denen aus der InDesign-Datei steht dann wieder unter
Dokumenteigenschaften, Anwendung: Adobe Pagemaker 7.0
Wie kommt das?

The audio driver listed is the Realtek ALC Audio Driver. You can download the Vista/Windows7 driver here:

Is this the driver you are having problems with? If not, suggest you uninstall current non-functioning driver package and install this one instead.

Lenovo t60 motherboard replacement

i get a lenovo t60 off of ebay. it was in parts when i got it he said the motherboard was fried. which he was right/. all of the information i have is that the laptop is a lenovo t60 and the FRU number on the motherboard itself is: 41V9916 my question is is do i need to get a exact motherboard are there ones thare are similiar that will work? i looked on ebay for one with that FRU number and there all like 100 bucks but i can get others that are like 10-50 bucks and are good sellers.

Welcome to the forum!
You just need to make sure that the board is not from a widescreen T60. All "standard screen" boards will work just fine.
I wouldn't trust a $10 one, though...

Lenovo T60 hard drive replacement.

Hello to everybody,
I've recently bought a Hitachi TravelStar 5K320 (model HST543232L9A300) and my intention was to install it on my Lenovo T60 as a relacement of my current drive (a 100Gb model from Fujitsu) for a higher capacity.
The system, once the replacement has been done, hangs up and it doesn't perform the boot operations (a blinking cursor appears on the top-left corner of the black display and no more). I know for sure that the OS (MS WindowXP Pro) is correctly installed and functioning because the new HDD installed on another system boots regulary (I've made a clone from my original drive). So it seems that something else has to be tuned on my T60 system...
As I can read by a document from Hitachi at http://www.hitachigst.com/tech/techlib.nsf/techdocs/C133A86932929FC3862573FB001AE8F3/$file/Final_TS5..., the drive is compatible with the Lenovo T60 System, so I wonder if someone has been through this issue before and knows how to solve it (maybe firmware upgrade, software tools, etc..).
I've tryed everithing in my my way of knowing: I've already ran FixBoot and FixMBR from a WinXP installation CD, I've removed the supervisor password too from the CMOS... I don't know what else is left to try.

Lenovo T60 (8744) stopped running

Dear Colleagues,
my Lenovo T60 (15.4 inch; type: 8744; mother board: 42T0167) stopped running.
When I power it on, this is what happens:
1) wireless and Caps lock indicators go on and off
2) hard drive spins; CD ROM clicks twice
3) power on, and AC power status indicators, stay on
4) Nothing happens next
I do not think it is a problem with the monitor, because the hard drive does not sound as if it is loading an operating system; and also the hard drive indicator is not turning on
The problem occurred shortly after I moved from Canada (120 V) to the UK (230V).
Is it a power supply circuit thing? Is it a mother board thing?
I would appreciate your suggestions.

If you want to upgrade, the most powerful board that will work in this laptop is one with ATI FireGL graphics 5250, which would basically make your laptop a T60p model. I can get these boards for under $100, you can send me a pm if you'd like my help getting one. You could modify your system by installing a T61 board, but you'd also need a cpu, pc card assembly, frame modifications and I'm not sure if you'd have a problem with the fact that the t61 has a card reader integrated on the 15.4" models, plus the fact that the 15.4" intel boards are uncommon and most of the nVidia boards are at risk of failing from a well known gpu problem. I can get the boards with the updated gpu chips, but they are more costly compared to the T60 series boards.
I've checked my sources and there are currently no boards with x1400 graphics available, but when they are they generally go for about $60-70. Be very careful buying on ebay, many parts are pulled from badly abused laptops and I've been burned enough times that I only source parts from complete fully working laptops.

Lenovo T60 - freezes

Hello. I have Lenovo T60 with Windows 7. It freezed while I was srufing the internet and I had to turn It off using power button. Since then, It always freezes randomly. Windows sometimes boot sucessfully and then It freezes after few seconds but sometimes I can not even type my password to bios. I tried to run safe mode but It freezed during loading. I tried also Windows reinstalation, but it freezed when list of partitions appeared.
I have important data on one of my partition. How can I backup my data ? Or how can I repair It ?

This sounds like a hardware problem. most likely failed RAM.
1. Try to run diagnostic software. I'm not sure if Lenovo Diagnostics Software will run on the T60 as it's not officially supported. Even if it runs, of course, it may fail due to a system freeze.
2. Remove and reseat your RAM modules. If that fixes the problem then you must have had a poor contact.
3. If that doesn't resolve the issue and if you have more than one RAM module, try running the T60 with only one module at a time. If the system works with one module and freezes with the other then you've isolated a bad RAM module and you'll need to replace it.
As for your data, you can remove the HDD from the T60 and access it on another PC using a USB enclosure or similar adapter. If you have a HDD password on the drive you will need to go into BIOS first and remove it.

Lenovo T60 issue - security center does not accept my password anymore??

Hi to all and thanks in advance for any help given.............Lenovo T60 issue
Everything was working as it should then a popup box came up when i was logged in and informed me that "I" had changed the password that is connected to my finger reader (online passwords have also been changed and do not work online using the finger reader) and could i now type my password into the popup on the screen.
When i do this it still does not work - wrong password - i have tried all of the passwords i use - so i have had to uninstall the part that deals with that, i then reinstalled it just in case it was an application issue but after re-installation it was the same as before.??
I can still use the finger reader but i do not like to rely on one secure form of login, and if it fails it could take a while to find out how to login otherwise,

I had a similar problem, but it was becuase I deleted the user account that the PC was set up with. Security Center would not work with any Administrative account. So I had to put the user back in the system with the same original name. Hope that helps.
