Lenovo T61 randomly, suddenly stops

Hi Guys,
I am using lenovo t61 laptop which I bought in year 2007, It started shutting down suddenly when I am using it without any error message. I thought its because of heating issues and changed the cpu fan, even though it did not fix the issues. Please let me know If someone had already faced this issue and there is a FIX.

when you say stops can you elaborate on this? i.e. there is an error message that pops up or if the system shutsdown without warning?

Lenovo T61p-6457 has all of a sudden stopped working!

My Lenovo T61p-6457 has all of a sudden stopped working.
When I power it up I see the that power and HDD green lights go on and from another computer on my network I can access individual files on the T61p hdd.
However when I connect the T61p via VGA cable to an external working monitor I don't see Windows or any images on the external screen!
Do you think that there is only a problem with the screen or could there be something else?
The currently installed screen on the T61p 6457 is WSXGA 1680x1050 (Samsung LTN154P2-LO5).
I have found a working WUXGA 1920 x 1200 along with inverter and cable in the original Lenovo T61p top case housing - will this work in my T61p?

How could I solve a recurrent sudden stopping of a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop?

I have bought a new laptop Lenovo 300 N100 in November 2007.Since February 2009, it does not work correctly. The problem is the following:
When I launch the laptop- it's XP which is installed on it- it works approximately between two abd three hours and suddenly stops.When I launch it again, it works approximately 20 minutes and suddenly stops.When I try to launch the laptop again, it does not start ; but if I let it take 1 week of complete rest , then , when I launch it , it works approximately between two and three hours.
Please, how could I solve yhis problem?

Excuse me to answer only now to your message; it's due to the fact that my Internet connection had problems.
When I say :

it works approximately between two and three hours." , it's when plugged in (my battery no more works since November 2008, the laptop can
no more work only with battery), the laptop(when it works) indicates that the battery is "charged" at 0% and the problems I have described
in my post began in February 2009.
I haven't done BIOS update since I bought this laptop.

Lenovo T61 windows 7 Problems

I would like to write something about my problem and I would appreciate any suggestion you might have, but I would like to solve this without having to reinstall. That is due to personal issues. I just don't have luxury of time for that..
I have IBM Lenovo T61 with 3GB RAM, nVidia Quadro 140m and when it was bought, it had Windows Vista. All the drivers were working finely and I had no problem. But then the other day I bought an upgrade for my vista and let it be upgraded to Windows 7 and unfortenately few things stopped working. The whole laptop is suddenly very slow, audio is stuttering (all sounds, even system or winamp is being interrupted by clicks which are kinda constant and I can't get rid of them) and video seems to be blurry. I've already tried to check BIOS for any bad setting (didn't find any, doesn't mean there isn't one I didn't notice tbh), reinstalled nVidia drivers and even sound drivers. The video seems more smooth now but windows is still slow as hell.

Bouncing Ball Just Suddenly Stops Mid Bounce

I have a application where each time you click the add ball button a new randomly colored ball is added to the jpanel. It works fine except that the balls suddenly stop at the same spot. I want them to continue to bounce for a longer period of time instead of like 8 bounces. It was going around withoutstopping prior to my getting the add new ball part working. I cannot seem to figure out what I did wrong. Also curious if anyone new of a tip as to how to get the balls to disappear once a button is clicked or their cycle runs out. Below is my code:

I posted here since it says new to java which I am. I also have posted here before with questions relatedto swing and 2D elements like graphs and no one else had an issue. It's not prohibited to post it here, but in the 2d forums, there are more people who know what they're talking about when it comes to 2D animations.

Ethernet suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason

My late 2011 MBP is usually functioning as a desktop with external display and keyboard/trackpad, so I have it connected via ethernet when it's on the desk. However, my connection suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason.......... BUT clearly not a router problem as there's no problem with the wifi connection. System Preferences > Network > Ethernet is telling me:
Status: Connected. Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the internet.
Dunno how this happened, as to my knowledge I didn't actually do anything to cause this problem, just randomly stopped working. Any solutions much appreciated, thanks :-)

Please post a screenshot of the Network preference pane. Be careful not to include any private information.

Mac HDMI to TV suddenly stops working

10.9.4 mavericks macbook pro retina to TV via HDMI
using an HDMI cable to watch movies on my laptop macbook pro retina.
was working this morning, and watched a movie. then I go to work, and come back and now the exact setup is no longer working.
it does not show any display in the preferences menus, and the TV is just blue without any input.
cable is secure, nothing has changed. nothing.
edit: actually I did pull the HDMI cable out while the two were connected this morning.
tried restarting, reconnecting, nothing
... very frustrating, no idea why computers suddenly stop working for no reason whatsoever. maybe someone hacked my computer this afternoon while I was gone? it's just a random failure.
Any help?

IPhone 3GS suddenly stopped working with wifi in only one location

This is the situation. I have an iPhone 3GS and it the wifi suddenly stopped working at my house (just with the iPhone).
I have an Airport express (latest generation) and a time capsule (1st generation). All of my devices (except a PC laptop which isn't much of an issue, and the iPhone) cannot connect to it. The devices I have are as follows: Apple TV, iPod Touch, iPad 2, the "new" iPad, a macintosh computer.
However, when I move the Airport express to my work location, and plug it into the ethernet there, the iPhone works totally fine. It seems like the issue is just at my house. The Time Capsule works intermittently sometimes; random devices cannot connect to the network sometimes. The airport express seemed to fix this problem. I have read that this problem is related to the operating system "Lion" but the network was working fine for months and months after I have upgraded to lion. Sometimes both devices cease to work, and there is no internet to any devices in my home.
The network is password protected, so that removes the possibility of neighbors connecting to the network. The name of the network contains spaces and "symbols" which I have heard is an issue for PC's trying to connect to networks. Both my home and my workplace are on the same internet provider.
My questions are:
Why does the airport express work with the iPhone at my workplace and not at my house?
How many devices can a 1st gen Time Capsule handle at once?
If I buy an airport extreme, will it fix this issue?
How can I fix this?
I have restarted the device several times (both the iPhone and Time Capsule) and it still didn't fix anything.

Using the delete all content and settings option is not restoring the iPhone. Using the delete all content and settings option does exactly that - all content and settings are securely deleted except for the firmware, which is not a restore.
If you do this followed by re-installing an app via the iTunes sync process, the app settings and any data created and stored by the app will be lost. 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app is not stored with the app on your iPhone and is not stored with the app or synced with the app in your iTunes library on your computer.
3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app is stored separately from the app on your iPhone and is included with your iPhone's backup which is updated as the first step during the iTunes sync process.
Restoring an iPhone with iTunes completely erases the iPhone first followed by the firmware being re-installed. After the firmware is re-installed, you are prompted to restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup, which is the default selection. The other selection available is as a new iPhone. After either one, this must be followed by a sync with iTunes. If you restore from your iPhone's backup followed by re-installing an app that stores data you need to access, the data will be restored with the app. If you restore as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup followed by re-installng an app, the app settings and any data created and stored by the app will not be restored with the app since you didn't restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup where this data is stored.
If you restore your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup with no change, you can follow this by restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup to recover the 3rd party app settings and the data created and stored by the app along with all other data included with your iPhone's backup.

SOME SAY TO TAKE OUT THE INTERNAL MEMORY BATTERY FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS AND OTHERS TAKE OUT THE WIRELESS ADAPTER AND THEN CHECK TO SEE IF THE ERROR PERSISTS. IF NOT THEN RE - INSTALL THE WIRLESS ADAPTER AND HOPEFULLY I WOULD NOT GET THE MESSAGE AGAIN.

[SOLVED] Thinkpad Fn keys suddenly stopped working

I'm on ThinkPad Edge 14. For some reason(s) unknown, my Fn keys stopped working after I restarted Arch a few hours ago.
I've checked the BIOS, everything is fine (no settings unchanged). I tried checking if X (I'm on Gnome 3) can still detect the keys using xev (as outlined here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ex … oard_Keys) and the Fn key is detected as "XF86WakeUp" witht the keycode "151", so at least nothing is wrong with the actual physical button.
What's more weird is that, I tried booting from another Hard Drive into Ubuntu, and the Fn key also didn't work (it has worked fine previously). What could be causing this?
EDIT: Even weirder, Fn keys aren't working in Windows as well (I dual boot). BIOS's still unchanged, and this started happening when I was working with Arch, so I'm quite sure this can be fixed through Arch. Problem is, I don't know where to start. How can Arch affect Ubuntu & Windows when I didn't change BIOS?

Apparently, it's possible that the Fn keys suddenly stopped working for no clear reason. In my case, it happened when I was on Arch, so I thought the problem was with Arch. Anyway, I updated the BIOS from Lenovo's site and everything's working fine now.

Bought another new minidisplay to HDMI and suddenly stopped detecting external display! However, it works randomly with no rhyme or reason. I have tried everything.

My end call button has suddenly stopped working

I am using an iPhone 4 16GB Factory Unlocked.
My end call button has suddenly stopped working. The icons at the bottom of the screen are also accessed randomly.
i have tried everything recomended.
Updated to the iOS to the latest version 4.3.5. Did a complete reset of the set. rebooted the set several times. But so far nothing seems to work.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are...
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup... Restore as New...

Opmn suddenly stops

In our clustered oracle application server environment, for a certain host, we have experienced a sudden stop of the opmn process which was running.
Observations -
1. opmnctl status - Unable to connecto to opmn. opmn may not be up.
2. when opmnctl start was executed, opmn started again
3. opmnctl status - showed all the running OC4J instances
conclusion - all the OC4J instances were running but the opmn has been shutdown.
when the opmn logs are inspected for the period, the following error were found.
1. TopologyMonitor.getUnsynchronizedCompleteInitializedTopology Too few bytes (-1) received from OPMN responseoracle.ias.opmn.optic.OpticBadConnectException: Too few bytes (-1) received from OPMN response
2. TopologyMonitor.getUnsynchronizedCompleteInitializedTopology Error connecting to OPMN (is it running?): Connection refusedoracle.ias.opmn.optic.OpticBadConnectException: Error connecting to OPMN (is it running?

we need to determine why opmn suddenly became unresponsive.

I have around 122 GB, so.. I've used like half of the harddisk. And it doesn't just happen while I'm gaming; but when I DO game it almost every time happens.
It can happen like "randomly" when Im just surfing on the internet, or doing stuff at my computer programs..
But if the problem are that I have filled up the harddisk with to much so I just have to go around and clean up with the things I dont need ^o^

Lenovo T61 Turning OFF Itself

I have a lenovo T61 laptop. I bought this around 2 years back. The problem I am facing now is the laptop tuns off itself. Do you know any known reasons for this. When I see the bottom of the laptop when it switch off its hot. Dont know if it is because of this. Please let me know if you guys have faced this before. Thanks for your help!

I had the exact same problem on my T61P which thankfully was quite simple to fix!
I tried TPFanControl and whilst it helped (i.e. I could see when my machine was getting too hot and was about to turn itself off so I could stop loading the CPU/GPU and let it cool again) it did not solve the problem, TPFanControl 'helps' control the internal temperature by better control of the system fans but does not solve the cause of the problem - overheating.
After doing some research, the problem was most likely the CPU cooling fins and fan full of muck and or the thermal grease on the CPU and GPU needing replacing, so, took about 15 minutes to strip the fan and cooling out, clean and re-apply thermal grease. End result - no overheating and no turning off! The service manuals are readily available showing you exactly where the screws etc are located to make the job easy!

X201 Battery Suddenly Stopped Charging

I'm a new user of the X201. I was sold on the 'name' and 'reliability' and 'quality' of the product, the X201, on the design and size and power. So I paid the premium for this notebook, where I could have easily bought TWO Acers with similar power and storage etc.
This was in June 2010..
The battery suddenly stopped charging and status was 'amber' and software says battery is charging... it's not.
battery condition is all green... good...
what's happening?

I am experiencing the same issue with my X201i. It is just weeks old and battery has been used for five cycles.
Unfortunately it seem to not want to charge the battery anymore, and it stays as 0%. I have been in touch with Lenovo, and they are shipping a new battery that I will try. However, I tried to upgrade form bios 1.14 to latest, but this did also failed because of no charged battery which is required for a upgrade :-(
Any more updates on this so I can try to get the battery charging again?
