Well...That's why the update failed to install. If you root the device and uninstall pre-installed system apps(those that you can't normally uninstall)  OTA updating stops working.
Try to perform a factory reset (in the hope it will restore those apps...slim chance but worth a try).
If that dosen't work the only way you will be able to OTA update (and,no...manually downloading the update>installing it from recovery also won't work) is to completely reflash the stock firmware(on your own risk).
Unfortunately you'll have to find out how to do that on your own.Sorry
PS:Generally speaking it's better to ''hibernate''(after rooting) not uninstall if you want to OTA update in the future.

  • US version Lenovo Tab 2 (A7-30F) Not receiving updates. - Make offline downloads available?

I decided it might be best to open a new thread about this issue, since I don't necessarily believe attention is being given to similar threads once marked as "solved." I am a fairly new owner of the A7-30F model Lenovo Tab 2, and it appears that the touchscreen has some kind of software feature, perhaps to prevent "accidental" touches, that makes it respond poorly to user touch input.  I know it's not a hardware problem, because when I use the Lenovo companion app to test touch and multi-touch functionality, the touchscreen appears to be much more responsive during diagnostics, but the user interface of that same diagnostics app seems plagued by the same touch resistance. I have read elsewhere on the forum that a software patch has been made available OTA, that resolves the touch issues, but My tablet does not seem to be able to find said update, indicating that I'm already on the latest version every time I check the Software Updater.  I even wiped the cache and data from the software updater application, and it still thinks I have the latest software. My question is this.  Is there a staggered rollout of these updates, and are they based on geographic constraints?  Even if I'm not yet to get the lollipop update, is there a reason the A7-30F_S000027_150624_ROW can't be made available via the downloads area so that it can be applied from local media via the updater app?  Can the US version Lollipop update be made available for use with the updater app as well? This should benefit all customers, because it also provides a go-back point in case someone were to upgrade their device to Android 5.x but not like the changes from 4.4.2. Is it safe to assume with 5.x updates being staged and released, that I'm never going to see that 150624 build?

Helloooooo?  I this thing on?  It's been 4 days since I posed this question.  Any chance of getting an official response?

  • Do you recomended a lollipop update to LENOVO TAB 2 A10-70?

I found some many complaints about that updated, please lenovo what happened ???I just buy a LENOVO TAB 2 A10-70 today and have some many bugs with the Dolby app,WiFi,......I just wait to see if lenovo is working on any update,I have 15 days to return this tablet....please this tablet is great.... Not leave alone lenovo

I figured that I'd give the update a try and if it didn't work out then I'd return it and buy another to keep KitKat...   I'm happy to say that the upgrade to Lollipop went smoothly and everything appears to be working correctly - no issues with WiFi, audio, battery life or anything else that I can observe.  I initially thought that web browsing performance was a bit slower, but after some more use I now think it is at least equal if not better than KitKat.  I don't bother with benchmarks, for me it either feels good or it doesn't. I upgraded my tablet shortly after receiving it, so I had not installed many apps before upgrading to Lollipop and the tablet was fairly clean.  The upgrade went very smoothly, taking about 15 minutes to install.  I received the architectural error others have mentioned after the primary upgrade, but ignored it and continued to install the last update that followed.  The last update suggested performing a factory reset which I did, and when the tablet rebooted all errors were gone. All in all it was a painless experience and I am satisfied with the result.  I think two factors might be causing others some trouble...  I personally would start with a clean tablet, so if you have installed many apps I would perform a factory reset both before and after the Lollipop update.  My screen never went black for long, but in any event once the update starts you should just leave the tablet alone until it completes.  I set the sleep timer to max so it wouldn't power down while the update is in process. Curiously, the major update to 5.01 Lollipop was identified by Lenovo as simply bug and stability fixes (but 1300+ MB), while the last patch with bug fixes had much more verbage and warned of data being deleted, and also mentioned performing the factory reset...  Lenovo should improve their changelog notes for these patches because the biggest one doesn't very clearly state it is upgrading to Lollipop. Anyway, its cool that Lenovo keeps updating the tablet,  Asus never provided any updates to my old Memo Pad FHD10.  The Tab 2 A10 is a great deal and I'm very happy with it.

  • How to Root a Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 2015 version

I am not responsible for any damage that may affect your Device! Rooting is the first step to customise your device. Without rooting absolutely 'extraordinary' nothing is possible. Yes your warranty becomes void after that. So chill. No matter where you read that its very risky or something like that, I'll say refrain from going to those sites. They are just putting unnecessary fear into your mind. Most probably they fear You could make your device function better than them.So lets go on with it. I've made it simple for you. Just follow the steps. Step 1: Download and install Kingo Android Root. (THE LAST VERSION)Step 2: Double click the desktop icon of Kingo Android Root and launch it.Step 3: Plug your Android device into your computer via USB cable.Step 4: Enable USB Debugging mode on your Android device.USB Debugging mode enabled is a necessary step of Android rooting process.*INPORTANT: Pay attention to your device screen for a prompt window. Tick "Always allow from this computer". If you don't, you will probably get yourself an OFFLINE DEVICE.5. Read notifications carefully before rooting your device.6. Click "ROOT" to root your device.Kingo Android Root will employ multiple exploits on your device, which will probably take a couple of minutes. In the rooting process, your device may be rebooted several times. Do not be panic, it is perfectly normal. And once it begins, please DO NOT touch, move, unplug or perform any operation on your device.7. Root succeeded, click "Finish" to reboot your device.8. Check the root status of your device.9-Enjoy your Root in your new Lenovo Tab 2 A10 *Android rooting is a modification process to the original system, in which the limitations are removed and full-access is allowed and thus resulting in the ability to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized apps and even facilitate the removal and replacement of the device's operating system with a custom one. Rooting your device will immediately void your warranty...

I was able to root it using Kingoroot, but it needed some help! Kingo said the root was successful, but the tablet was not really rooted. Some apps, like Greenify, would not work correctly. I unrooted, then rerooted with the same result. The last time I did this, the Kingo Superuser app said it needed an update to its binary. Instead of updating it, I installed Super SU 2.46 and then had it update its binary. After a restart, I was fully rooted. I have not removed the Kingo Superuser app or updated Super SU. If it is not broken, do not fix it! ;p). I also was interested in installing Xposed, but at the start of the installation, it warned me that the app was not compatible with some of the tablets hardware (processor or chipset?), so I removed the installer. I would not install it until Xposed is updated. The only other thing I would like to do is install Clockwork Mod recovery, but I am not sure if it is compatible with the Tab 2.

  • Bricked x120e -- failed BIOS update

    Hi,
I was trying to update the BIOS of my x120e (0596-2RU) from within Windows 7, it got stuck (no progress for more than half an hour), now the notebook is bricked (the screen won't turn on; there's no beeps, just the fan is turned on).
I believe I followed all the instructions (battery fully charged etc.), but the Customer Support here in Ireland says failed BIOS updates are not covered by warranty (contrary to what some people on these forums say).
    What are my options now?
    Thanks a lot!

  • DPM 2012 Failed to update permissions used in end-user recovery

    Hello everyone,
I'm going to try the clearest way possible to describe the problem.
Our test server is Windows Server 2012 with DPM 2012 SP1 CU2 (BKP-SRV01) with a Remote SQL server 2012 (PBASC)
I protected a share folder on a DC on Windows Server 2008 R2 (PAD)
When I activate End-User Recovery I get a warning in the monitor tab that say this
Failed to update permissions used for end-user recovery on pad. Permissions update failed for the following reason: (ID 3123)
DPM is unable to enumerate contents in pad_PartageTest on the protected computer BKP-SRV01. Recycle Bin, System Volume Information folder, non-NTFS volumes, DFS links, CDs, Quorum Disk (for cluster) and other removable media cannot be protected. (ID 38 Details:
the end user recovery is working, but i do not know if it affect other things. I also get that message when i try to browse on the DPM server when creating a protection group
When I go see the DPM Server / File and Storage Services / Shares on Server Manager i get  "Failed to retrieve folder permission" in the properties of the Protected server share.
I tried to search for almost 2 days without finding anything about that particular issue.
Is there a way (clean way) to fix the issue?
Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Silently failing to update applications

    Hi Everyone,
I have upgraded my iPhone 4s to ios 6 (6.0.1 to be precise) a few weeks back and forgot my itunes account password. So, I created a new account, and every since I did this, some of my apps are silently failing to update.
Basically, when there is an update for some apps, I see the number notification on my "App Store" app. I open this, and go to UPDATES tab and see that I have some apps that need to be updated. I click on the UPDATE ALL button, and it opens the login popup, I enter my login information and it updates some of the apps, but get stuck on others (always same apps).
After this point, every time I hit UPDATE ALL, it opens the login popup, then says INSTALLING next to each of these stuck apps, then 1-2 seconds later those buttons turn to UPDATE again. And, I am not getting any error or anything like that, nothing other than those button changing to UPDATE.
Just to give an example, Facebook app got updated fine, but Linkedin, Foursquare and Skype are not updated and they are stuck for some weird reason? If I delete these stuck apps and re-install, they install fine? Right now, I have 5 apps that are waiting to be updated...
I tried restarting the iphone, logging out and then logging in, etc. But nothing helped!
This is driving me crazy, and any help / suggestion would be appreciated!
    Thanks

It's simple. When you download an app it's assigned to the Apple ID used to dowload it. This cannot be changed. When the apps need to be updated you need to used that Apple ID and Password to update them. Your new Apple ID is what is causing your issue. Delete the apps and re-download them with your current Apple ID. I think you said that is somewhere in your post so you already knew the answer, anyway.
    Hope that helps

  • Failing to update firmware

I own two Iomega ix2 NAS devices that were purchased together.  I have been attempting to update the firmware in both.  In one device, I have not had any problems.
The other device, which currently has firmware version 4.0.6.192194, I consistently get an "" error message whenever I try to install firmware version 4.1.106.31982.
I feel confident that the firmware file is not corrupt since I was able to successfully install the same file on the second ix2 device.
The S/N of the troublesome device is significantly different (part numbers are identical, however).  So I am suspicious that the device is not exactly what it claims to be.
The S/N of the device failing to update is: LTA2310094
The S/N of the device which updated successfully is: LTA3021430
Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hello dkobe
There are varying causes for this issue.  I do recommend contacting Lenovo Support  for the issue when you are able to.
I have some recommendations you can try though.
    1. If you have not already tried, please restart the unit via the web interface under system status or power the unit off/on using the power button on the rear of the unit.
    2. This shouldn't be an issue, but some browsers can have conflicts with devices.  You may want to try a different browser to try uploading and applying the update.
    3. If the issue is due to a disk fault, swapping the internal disks to opposite bays while powered off might allow you to complete the firmware update after booting.

  • LENOVO TAB 2 A10-70 lollipop issues report everybody.

Recently lenovo give the lollipop update to the LENOVO TAB 2 A10-70,but everybody has reporting serious bug's in this tablet after made the update, please can you put all your issues related with lollipop?Lenovo is not interested in bring a bug's fix for this tablet?

Omg, where do I begin? First of all I can't even bring up the **bleep** keyboard to type this response. I'm using the tablet right now to type this message in another application so I can cut and paste. Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10F  Android 5.01 Lollipop ROM bugs: 1. Update initially soft bricked the tablet at boot. (Hard Reset required (Power button + Volume Down boots into recovery mode) [Fixed issue] 2. Dolby sound was VERY low. (Wiped all Dolby app data) [Fixed issue] 3. Poor Wi-Fi reception & range. (Seriously you have to be right next to the **bleep** source of the Wi-Fi signal or else it's slow as F****. [Unresolved issue] 4. Bluetooth connection issues. Paired devices take forever to sync, I have to reboot the tablet and reboot the Bluetooth device or Remove the device and Pair it again from scratch. [Unresolved Issue] 5. In portrait mode regardless of the application in use the front facing camera, if oriented on the right hand, side turns the screen off briefly several times until you rotate the screen into landscape then it stops. I can't begin to tell you how F**** annoying this is and it happens often. This tablet does not have a proximity sensor and I theorize is using the crappy camera adhoc to shut the screen off. [Unresolved issue] Looking back I should have purchased a Nexus 9. I wasted more time and gray hair than I expected and still have issues unresolved. I will never purchase another Lenovo Tablet.

  • Safari fails to update followed links dynamically

I mentioned this a while ago and am surprised that Apple continues to produce perhaps the only browser which fails to update followed links dynamically.
The bug is best illustrated with an example. Hit this URL:
    http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=100&newwindow=1&q=apple
and then try one or two links on the resulting Google page.
All other browsers I have tried update the followed links on the Google page dynamically without it being reloaded but Safari does not.
I do not use tabs and am not sure if those using tabs will be aware of the bug.
This is the only thing which stops me using Safari as my default browser.
I would be grateful if others can confirm that they also get this bug.

    Many thanks bdash.
I am surprised it was not included with this week's Safari 3.2.1.
I have just tried iCab and the result is consistent with it being a WebKit issue.
The original bug report that you linked to compared Safari with Firefox but, from memory, with the exception of WebKit virtually all browsers produced from at least 5 series onwards have dynamically updated followed links.
I will put a link to this thread on
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1702301
and any other pages about this issue which I come across.
Thanks again for your timely helpful reply - I will mark this as 'answered'.

  • Suggestions for sturdiest cases for Lenovo Tab 2 A10 tablet?

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a Lenovo Tab 2 A10 tablet and I'm also looking to get a sturdy case to put it in. The sturdier case (like military grade even) the better. I looked up many sites that all show cases for the Galaxy Tab 2. It looks pretty much the same in size, but I could make out judging only by the photos if all the port holes were also compatible with the Lenovo tablet.  I'll also contact Lenovo customer support to see if the recommend a list of cases, but right now I was wandering if anyone knows/owns of a sturdy case that could do the trick. thanks.

I just got brand new Lenovo tab A7-40 with Android 4.2.2. When I brought it home all was fine, then when I connected tab to the WI-FI an update appeard and after applaying the update-  the RUBBISH ICON is gone. I went to the shop and got another tablet as replacement. Came home all was fine..... until same update done same thing. Factory reset does not help.
Do you know what is wrong?
    please help
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Unfortunately your video is private....I can't watch it.
That being said...There's nothing wrong with your tablet, just got updated to Android 4.4 and Lenovo's Android 4.4 new UI=User Interface(you were running Android 4.2 before).
On the old 4.2 UI to remove/uninstall an app you had to long press on the app's icon and drag it to that RUBBISH ICON.
Now on the new UI(and on Android 4.4 devices in general) things are a lot simpler: Just long press on the desired app icon and then press the ''X'' situated on the upper left side of the icon.....That's it....No more ''RUBBISH ICON'' on Android 4.4 KitKat.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers.

  • Satellite M40: Is failed BIOS update covered by warranty?

    Hello,
I own a satellite M40. I had some problem with it, and tried to update the bios to see if it could solved it.
I flash the bios with the windows based utility, but the computer shutted down without any warning.
Now the notebook power up only 1s or 2, and then power off.
I bought this Toshiba, 10 months ago. So, is a failed bios update outside of the warranty ?
    Thank you

    Hello,
There is one last thing you can try if you want before taking it to your ASP. If you have a usb floppy drive, download the traditional BIOS update for your computer and ready the floppy. Once it is ready, plug the floppy to the computer. Hold down the TAB key and power on the notebook (some models have this safety feature in case of failed bios update) and see if the LEDs start blinking green and orange. If so, then it is updating the bios, once they are steady, then it is done and you can try turning it on normally again. If it does not work, then its time to take it to your ASP.
