Lenovo U350. Upgrade Windows Vista to 7

Hi all!
Last week I bought Lenovo U350 notebook with Windows Vista OS. And now I want upgrade it to Windows 7.
But I have some questions... especially about the drivers. Here (official Lenovo site) we can see list of drivers for Lenovo notebooks. But I can't find Windows 7 drivers for example for chipset and bluetooth...
Where I can find these drivers?
Thanks a lot!

it's kinda old post, so, download page for u350 has been updated. you can download drivers for windows 7.

    Since I upgraded Windows Vista to Windows 7 iTunes only works in Windows 7 "Safe Mode". it will not run in the normal mode. (It ran properly in Vista)  I spent several hours with the Microsoft Technician going through the "1717 suggestions, but to no avail.  On my own, I tried iTunes in Windows 7 "Safe Mode" and was successful!  It ran like a charm.  Unfortunately, I can't run iTunes properly in "Safe Mode"  I have not tried moving one set of the files yet.  But if iTunes works in Safe Mode, do I need to relocate anything or do I need to find what is causing the conflict between Windows 7 and iTunes?

    Which Satellite A205?
    Which Windows 7 (64-bit)? What about the other laptop?
    Which printer model, version, and so forth?

  • Can I upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 8.1 in an existing Boot Camp?

    I have a Full Version 64-bit Windows 8.1 disc and my iMac has the current Version 10.9.1 OS X (Mavericks) installed.
    I already have a Boot Camp partition  of ample size (100GB) with Windows Vista.
    Can I upgrade to Windows 8.1 within my current Boot Camp environment or do I have to completely remove and rebuild my Boot Camp partition and Windows software?
    Thanks,
    David

    I've tried both independently.
    The one I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1 had graphics driver problems but I eventually got around them by deleting/installing the drivers in safe mode.
    The Windows 8.1 that I'm currently using installed fine and I've also installed 2 Nvidia driver upgrades direct from Nvidia.
    But as I said earlier, I may well have just got lucky with my hardware. Others have definitely not been as lucky as me.
    It really depends on how much you want to upgrade and what the risk is to you if things don't go well.
    You could lose everything in Windows. I would recommend making an image of your Windows partition (I use Clonezilla Live - which is a bit involved to use, but it works).
    The risk is yours

  • Upgrade Windows Vista 64 to Windows 7 64

    Hi there,
    am a proud owner of the MBP17 Unibody and very satisfied.
    I installed Windows Vista Ultimate 64 and it runs like a charm, now I want to upgrade to Windows 7, but it says I cannot install it because it cannot access some directory.
    Any other tried this already without reinstalling Windows 7?
    Thanks

    I would do some checking around the forums before installing Win7 64-bit. I've seen reports that it does not work properly with suggestion to stay with the 32-bit version until Win7 is released and Apple can formally evaluate compatibility. It may simply be that new drivers will be required to establish full 64-bit compatibility.
    I've installed the 32-bit public beta and it seems to work just fine on my MBP (same as yours.) However, I did not do an upgrade from Vista.

  • Upgraded Window Vista-Itune Problem

    Please help!!!
    I upgraded my OS to Windows Vista and now I cannot access Itunes. I get the following error message "The folder iTunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder"
    Can someone please tell me how to correct this error? I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes but not luck.
    Thanks
    Tonya

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
    Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
    it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
    Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • Upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7 and cannot 'reload' my stored music

    I have upgraded from Win Vista to Win 7, and as my iTunes storage is on an external drive that was not affected by the upgrade, I thought that I could reinstall iTunes and get it to 'pick up' the stored tunes and videos from the drive.
    It seems that I am in error - it is not so obvious as I thought. I have told iTunes where the drive is (Edit, Preferences, Advanced, iTunes media folder location), but it still does not pick them up.
    Can someone help me with this - what can I do to 'recover' these stored files etc.

    Thank you very much - that seems to have worked. I assume that I should have nacked up my libraries in some way before I tried this?

  • Windows Vista to Windows 7 Upgrade problems

    I have ASUS desktop. I upgraded Windows Vista to Windows 7. When i start my pc I get a message Can't Open ASIosys!!(2). The first day I installed Windows 7 everything ran pretty good except for getting this message. I then did all the Microsoft Updates for Windows 7. After that my card readers are not reading my SD cards. I put a card in and the pc makes a noise but it's not reading the card and when I check under my computer it doesn't show the cards in the slots. I plugged in an external disk reader to see if it would recognize that but same problem.
    I have a driver update program. I've scanned my pc with it but it says all drivers are installed.
    Can anyone tell me what's going on?

  • Windows Vista installation prolem.. keypad not working at that time

    I'm a MacBook user having a Windows XP Sp2 with Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.
    Now I want to upgrade 'Windows Vista' from win XP. But when i start my Mac by inserting Windows Vista bootable Cd (holding "options" on key board -> and selecting the Win Vista Cd) it asks to *press any key to start installation*. Here *no key is working in my key board. Even after pressing any key on my key board nothing happens* and it just goes to the Windows XP OS and here every key works fine.
    Is it it driver problem or any other prob..
    Please help out in fixing this issue.

    If you want a collection to be available to the designer then one way is explained here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/26200.wpf-dynamicresource-observablecollection.aspx
    There's a bit of a strange looking class:
    public class ColourCollection : ObservableCollection<SimpleColour>
    You can then have some data set up for that in a resource dictionary which is merged in app.xaml or in app.xaml itself:
    <Application.Resources>
    <local:ColourCollection x:Key="ColourSource">
    <local:SimpleColour ColourString="Yellow" Id="1"/>
    <local:SimpleColour ColourString="Blue" Id="2"/>
    <local:SimpleColour ColourString="Red" Id="3"/>
    <local:SimpleColour ColourString="Green" Id="4"/>
    <local:SimpleColour ColourString="Purple" Id="5"/>
    </local:ColourCollection>
    </Application.Resources>
    You can then use that as a dynamic resource.
    Another option is design time data.

  • Windows Vista to 7 iTunes

    I cleanly installed Windows 7 from Vista, and now have a Windows.old folder. How do I get my iPhone and iPod Nano data back into iTunes? I re-downloaded itunes and it is currently blank.

    Install Windows 7 upgrading Windows Vista. It's the best way to keep all your programs, files, etc. To do this, start the Windows 7 installation in Windows Vista and press Upgrade when the installer asks you for the installation type

  • Iphone 3Gs on Windows Vista 64 bit

    What programs are included with the iphone 3Gs for downloading photograph to a windows vista 64 bit machine? Is there an iphoto version for windows? How about video downloading?

    Guys/Gals - I was able to fix this. I don't know for all versions, but here's the system/setup I was having problems with:
    * iPhone 3G software version 3.1
    * iTunes latest two versions (current 9.0, also previous version before I tried upgrading)
    * Windows Vista 64-bit
    I've been able to connect my phone to iTunes and download pictures in Windows, but after a recent Windows Update, OR a recent iTunes upgrade, OR a recent Norton 360 update (I didn't know which was the killer) I could no longer see the iPhone in Windows OR iTunes. Nothing could. I couldn't transfer music, couldn't transfer photos.
    I did both a RESTORE on the iPhone and UPGRADED iTunes this week to version 9.0 and finally got a solid connection between iTunes and the iPhone. That is the first (current) fix.
    But still couldn't "see" it in Windows Vista Explorer.
    After reading and reading and reading, and finding no workable solution (I tried: shutting off User Control, shutting down the Windows and Norton Firewalls, tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, and performed those steps in many configurations), I also tried resinstalling the drivers through Control Panel (but it kept finding some generic "Windows Camera Driver" or some such), looking on my computer for usbaapl.sys (not there), I started looking on the web for it (but I'm always nervous about downloading drivers unless from the specific vendor's site), I finally did a search for "usbaapl" - and FOUND a driver in c:\windows\system32\drivers\ called "usbaapl64.sys".
    On a fluke, I first created a COPY of the file, and renamed the copy "usbaapl.sys" (since that file did NOT exist on my machine previously).
    Voila. I can now see the phone in Windows Vista Explorer.
    Someone at Apple isn't talking to someone at Microsoft, I think. Microsoft Vista x64 (with all current updates) is still looking for usbaapl.sys - iTunes is now shipping with usbaapl64.sys.

  • Lenovo U350, can not start any programs at some point

    Hi experts,
    I ran again into some problems with my Lenovo U350 under Windows 7.
    All of a sudden, I can not start any program on my laptop after running it for a while. I click on the program I can see this program running in Task Manager but it does not show up on the screen.
    Also I can not restart my laptop normally by clicking either on buttons "Restart" or "Shut down" either. For some reason these buttons/commands stop working. The only way to deal with this problem is a hard shut down by holding the "Power On/Off" button pressed on the laptop for a few seconds.
    I ran the antivirus check on my laptop to find existing viruses but came out with the result of 0 viruses.
    I wonder why the programs on my laptop stop loading or freezing? Any ideas?
    I'm that close to reinstall the whole system with the OKR.
    Thanks for your replies in advance.
    Cheers,
    Randy.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    yigit, thanks a lot for your reply.
    I tried to reinstall Windows on the weekend using the OKR. The problem was that I could start OKR under Windows 7 and choose the clean OS installation. Then my laptop restarts and I expected that reinstallation procedure would start next. But in reality what I have is just a normal Windows 7 Start. I also tried to start OKR by pressing an OKR button while my laptop is switched off. But same result - just a normal Windows 7 Start. Apparently, the OKR files are corrupted somehow.
    I have to mention 2 facts:
    1) I didn't change the partitions on my drive. These are the default factory partitions.
    2) Unfortunately, I didn't create the recovery discs when I bought my laptop.
    The question is how I can reinstall my system then? May I ask Lenovo for some recovery discs to ship to me if I still have a warranty?
    Thanks in advance for your future replies.
    Randy.
    P.S. yigit, I checked your mentioned thread. The problem is I don't receive any Windows message saying why it can't start programs. It just doesn't start without any error message that should come along with it.

  • Windows Vista + T61 SLOWWW!!!

    Hello all,
    I have some problems with my customers using T61 and Windows Vista. Hope I am not the only one...
    The Problem is simple: IT´S VERY SLOW
    Yes, i know: It´s always to slow. But it takes 5 to 10 sec. until Microsoft Word starts, no other programs are running.
    After a recovery reinstall and a full update (Lenovo updates and Windows Vista) it works fine.
    But after installing Office, MindManager and Adobe Creative Suite the performance goes extremly down.
    I searched over the Internet and found something about the IndexerServices and other "Perfomance" tools from Windows Vista.
    Are this services responsible for this performance problems?
    I don´t believe that I am the only one who experienced this problem. Did anyone else expect the same performance problem?
    Currently, i have 3 ThinPad T61 Series with 2GB RAM, both had the same problem so I don´t think it´s a hardware problem.
    Any tipps?
    Should I leave the notebooks running 1-2 hours alone, so that windows can optimize himself?
    Please help!
    Best wishes from Bavaria!
    Thomas

    Hello,
    Thomas:  Have you checked to see if any of the programs that always run at startup which were installed with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and MindManager can be disabled without affecting the function of the programs?  If so, try temporarily disabling them using the System Configuration Utility (filename:  MSCONFIG.EXE) and see if there is any change in the computer's performance.
    Jim:  One thing I have noticed about all anti-virus programs is that they do not seem to perform very well when installed on a system which had other anti-virus software on it unless the previously-installed anti-virus program was thoroughly removed.  Most anti-virus vendors offer a "manual" uninstall program to remove any orphaned programs, services, file system filter drivers, registry entries and other stuff which may have been left on the system after "normal" uninstallation.  Try downloading the latest version of your existing anti-virus, the manual uninstallation program for your old anti-virus program, uninstall your current anti-virus program, run the manual uninstallation program for your old anti-virus program, and then (re)install your new anti-virus program.  Chances are, system performance will now be greatly improved.

  • Windows 7 upgrade and existing Windows Vista Home Premium license...?

    Hi,
    As per Lenovo's scheme, after applying for Windows 7 64 bit upgrade and upon receiving the installer DVD, do I need to compulsorily install it?
    Does "upgrade" here really mean that the day when the Windows 7 DVD was issued on my name, my existing Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit license will become Invalid or get expired? Or I can continue using my existing installed Windows Vista on my Laptop and install the received copy of Windows 7 as and when I want or even don't install it on my Laptop, if happy using existing Windows Vista only?
