[Lenovo Vibe X2 - AP]: SIM registration failed after firmware flashing

Hello forum,
I have a Lenovo Vibe X2 -AP, India version.
I flashed EU ROM in my phone only to realize that EU is meant for single SIM devices only. So in order to get second SIM working, I put CU & then TO ROM I found on needrom.com. With these Chinese ROMs my second 2G SIM started working but first LTE SIM was not getting registered. So I put EU ROM again .. Now both SIMs are not getting detected. IMEI is shown as "unknown".
There is no AP ROW ROM on the internet.
Is my device unrecoverable now? Do I Have any option?

Hello. can you help with my post. ?

  • Sim Registration Failed

I bought a Nokia 2700c at July 24, 2010 at the local store on the nearby city. The very intention for the phone was for texting only, so getting it unlocked is not necessarily an option for me unless the sim that I'd insert it with is locked out. I live in the Philippines and was supposed to have this phone with Smart / Talk 'n Text sim mainly for texting only to find out that the network provider was locked out and I had to go to the network provider to have it unlocked, with a fee of course, which is out of my option so I inserted a sim from another network instead. I decided to insert Touch Mobile in it and was surprised to see that I could send text messages with it even to the other networks. I seldom use this phone and almost never unless I have to. Then one day I decided to try out downloading some new themes for this phone which failed due to my network provider not having a gprs support (funny but true). The problem occurred after that. When I turn on my phone, all of a sudden a message popped up upon boot of the phone saying that "Sim Registration Failed". I read somewhere about it online and came to the conclusion that the phone was blacklisted among the network providers in the country. Is this fixable? How do I go about fixing this phone? Btw, it's still under warranty and I'm thinking of referring it to the shop I bought it in.
Btw, here's an info about the phone (from the box):
    Nokia 2700c
    IMEI: ***************
    ITEM: ******

We have edited your post as it contains the IMEI of your phone. For your security, we do not allow posting personal  information in the discussion board. Thank you for understanding.

I've already tried re-inserting the sim but it didn't work. I've also tried inserting a sim from another network -- same result. >_____< The phone was meant for texting only so I didn't bother having it unlocked by those network providers which are locked out from the phone. Btw, pardon me for posting the problem here. There's no discussion section on the Philippines Site of Nokia.

  • N95-1 Sim registration failed error

My 2 year old unbranded N95-1 hadn't created any problem till now. It has started giving error " sim registration failed" every now and then. Its the same sim and operator I have been using for 2 years. Restarting often resolves the issue, but how often can u do that? Its out of warranty, and when I took it to NCC, they said its sim card reader IC needed to be replaced and charged 550 Rs. It worked for 1 odd month and again it has started giving me tht error. I just wanted to ask some Techie that what exactly causes this error? Sim card and phone gold contacts are CLEAN. I used the sim card in other phone for 15 days and its just fine. Just wanna know if it is repairable or should I throw the phone away?

This may sound like a stupid idea, but have you tried updating or reinstalling your phone´s firmware?
You can update your phone using the NSU:
    Nokia Software Updater
All you need for this is a internet connection and a data cable for your phone!
If the sim card reader was already replaced it surely can´t be the hardware side of it, so why not try the software side?

  • 6234 SIM registration failed??

Okay, nokia 6234, was on vodafone nz but changed to 2degrees, was fine for a couple of months but then I noticed someting about my service - there was none. I changed my SIM back to vodafone and whenever phone turned on/send a msg/call "SIM registration failed" comes up. hmm. tried the vodafone SIM in another 6234 and same thing happened, put a new 2degrees SIM in mine and nothing changed, but the new SIM worked in the other 6234...

You should contact your service provider (Operator). They probably can tell you if there is some problems in your Sim card

  • 5800 SIM registration failed

I bought a new 5800, at first time i inserted my SIM and it was ok, after some hrs *(5-6hrs) i turned off the phone and after turning on i saw this massage : (SIMcard registration failed). I checked my SIM in my last phone and it was OK, also i checked another SIM in my phone and I got same massage. What can be my phone problem?

Given your description, either both SIM cards you've tried are not quite properly inserted, or the phone needs to be repaired/replaced.
Before taking the phone for repairs, you could try to upgrade the phone firmware (if you can't get the SIM card to work, you need to try it over WLAN, or using a PC and Nokia Software Updater).
A full reformatting of the phone is also worth a try, before taking the phone for repairs. I haven't tried it on my 5800 yet, but I remember reading that it happens by powering the phone off, then pressing down simultaneously (and keeping them pressed down) the keys green, red and camera while pressing on the power (keep green+red+camera pressed down).

  • 5800 XpressMusic SIM Registration failed.

I have recently purchased a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone pre-owned from a local market and when I turn it on I get "SIM Card Registration Failed" and when I try to make a phone call I get "Connection error". I have checked the IMEI using http://www.numberingplans.com/index.php?page=analysis&sub=imeinr and it is not shown as stolen. Can anyone help me please?

Does your simcard function with another device? - Have you tried any other simcard in your new phone?
Whats the productcode? It might be simlocked...

  • Unlocked Roger N8 koodo SIM registration fail

I just bought a Roger's locked Nokia N8, then successfully unlocked it via cellunlockers.net.
When I put my Koodo sim card in, I get an error message: sim card registration failed. I then tried a Fido sim card and everything worked fine.
Any idea what is going on here? Am I stuck with a $200 brick?

Don't know the procedure in Canada, but does Koodo SIM card need to be registered to work?

  • PC-Suite sync fails after Firmware upgrade of E65

After firmware upgrade of E65 PC-Suite stops syncing Calendar & Contacts from outlook. No error messages, just "0 entries has been updated".
    - PC-Suite updated to 7.0.9.2
    - Outlook 2003
    - XP Prof.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The funny thing is - the notes are synced???? If I restore some old contacts they'll double up in outlook, so I think the problem is, that the sync app doesn't see the outlook contact & calendar folder.
    Does somebody has an idea?

  • TC reporting "Hard Drive is Failing" after Firmware update to 7.6.1

I've jumped in and updated my TC and expresses.  Everything is working it would seem, however I'm getting intermittent amber alerts on the TC now saying the hard drive is failing.  Time Machine backups are happening fine, no problem mounting the drive and the alert goes away after a few minutes.  I've read other posts previously about this behaviour but never had it myself.  Anyone else having this problem?

AT & T is infamouse for its out-dated PPoE technology. Still don't get how a company that big can still be so behind the times.
Unfortunately, I'm at the point when someone mentions AT&T and internet issues, I just cringe because 9 times out of 10 it's one dreaded PPoE problem you're going to get stuck into, or another.
    Good luck with it...

  • M5035MFP displays Permanent Storage Write Failed after firmware update to 48.301.7

After updating the firmware to 48.301.7, I have two M5035MFP machines that are displaying "68 Permanent Storage Write Failed" error messages. The users can press Continue and printing will proceed normally for another 10-50 pages when the message will appear again. The NVRAM and HDD have been reset/intiliased and they have been powered off/on several times.
This is also occurring on two other different models (6040MFP/9040MFP) which also started showing up after a firmware update about the same time.
Could this be a failed update? How would I go about downgrading to a previous firmware version?

    Hi Rwelper,
I want to share with you this solution:
Please try first to reseat the Formatter/HDD and the memory DIMM and install the correcly then try:
First it is not adviced to downgrade the firmware at this step, you can try a cold reset and upgrade firmware again.
here, you need to remove the existent Firmware file on your PC and try to download it again from the HP Website, thus you can instaltly disable the firewalls and the antivirus and do this action.
NOTE: You can try a new upgrade firmware before you proceed with the Cold reset* of the printer.
Cold reset (Format disk also can be performed if this don't work): You can check the printer's manual to know how to perform it.
Please try an NVRAM init or Super NVRAM Init if this don't give a solution.
All these manipulations you can find in the printer's manual
Please note also that all these manipulations will delete all the current printer's configuration if it going to be working fine, so you will need to upgrade firmware and set your printer up again.
==> There is a need to delete files on the HDD / data on the DIMM, unplug and restart the printer.
The final solution is to replace the Formatter then the HDD if all these solutions don't bring a result.

  • Mouse wheel scroll fails after viewing flash video

It appears that viewing flash videos on hulu or youtube "breaks" the mouse scroll wheel function. The rest of the mouse buttons remain unaffected - the forward/back buttons work fine, as does the mouse-wheel-click scroll and the mousewheel-left/right scroll.
The scroll function remains completely unaffected in other applications.
Closing the window or tab that had the "offending" site in it sometimes seems to return things to normal, but not always.
I use flashblock and noscript, but disabling either or both of these vital plugins seems to have no effect.
Just disabled both plugins again to test once more, loaded a vid on hulu, and stopped it; all seemed fine, but after hitting "back" to go back to my queue list there, the scroll stopped working.

    focus owner was null
    requestFocusInWindow();
after the move did the trick

  • Linksys SRW224G4 Fail After Firmware upgrade

    Hello Everyone,
I am a newbie in this forum, so please excuse me If I may not make all things right.
I have a serious problem with my Linksys SRW224G4 managed switch.
After the one and only time that I have tried to update its Firmware, a couple of weeks ago,
although that the firmware upgrade ended with a success, When I tried to reboot the switch
the device went broken. Now it does not recieve an IP from the DHCP, hence I cannot see it in a list
    with the IP scanner.
I have read and followed the manual, in order to be able to connect to the switch with Hyper Terminal
via an RS232 serial port cable and managed to reach up to the following screenshot.

It's not unrecoverable. It just looks like the existing image didn't take and the boot process wants you to load a new one over the serial link. You're using HyperTerminal, so you already have what's necessary to load the image.
As soon as the switch indicates that it's downloading code using XMODEM, select the file transfer option in the HyperTerminal menu and upload the "SRW2xxG4_FW_1.2.3.0.ros" file using XMODEM. It will take awhile, but should recover the switch.
Also, make absolutely sure that you're using an SRW224G4 revision 1.1. If you upload the firmware from the 1.0 firmware, this sort of thing will happen.
If you happen to have a revision 1.0 switch, you can still recover it via XMODEM, but use the "fesm-12216.ros" firmware instead.

  • Problema, lenovo vibe x s960 no lee ninguna sim card

  • 'SIM card registration failed' on Nokia 6300 - fin...

I have two Nokia 6300 phones (I know, they are pretty old now, but there's no point me switching them while these still work!). I had one with me when I worked in New York and it worked fine out there with a US pay-as-you-go SIM card. The other one I saved to use in the UK when I was here, and it has a UK pay-as-you-go SIM (Tesco). I have now moved back to the UK and want to use both phones with my UK SIM card, however the one I used in America says 'SIM card registration failed' and won't find any reception when i put my SIM card (or any SIM card) in to it.
I'd be extremely grateful for any help/advice people can offer.
    Thanks!
    Melanie
