LENOVO VIBE Z2 K920 - Chinese vs International - LTE BANDS / FREQUENCIES

I have two questions regarding the differences between the Chinese market version of the VIBE Z2 K920 and the international version of the phone. Do the two versions operate on different frequencies? My main concern is the LTE bands and whether there is any benefit to buying the international version over the Chinese version. My carrier operates on LTE bands 7 (700 MHz), 4 (1700 MHz), & 4 (1700 MHz). Are there any hardware differences between the two versions or is the only difference the lack of Google Apps and less language options in the Chinese market version? Thanks!

VIBE X2-CU Lenovo services only in Chinese without English language option

Happy New Year to All
My Christmas gift was a Vibe X2. Now I'm one of a few German ladys who own a Vibe X2 in Germany I learned that I use a Chinese version of the phone instead of a European version.
However, a lot of features work very well e.g. phone calls, messaging, email/ exchange, google play store, notification center, security, camera, wifi and so on.
But, there are some features which I can't use because they are completely in Chinese and I definitely can't read Chinese
These are:
• Lenovo Smart Assistant, Mobile Assistant
When I install the Lenovo Smart Assistant from the European Lenovo Site then the Lenovo_Suite.exe starts automatically. And it is in Chinese designed from LENOVO Beijing limited and related to http://sj.lenovo.com/ I really would like to use this pc assistent instead of other available mobile assistant versions for android phones but I can't use it in Chinese language.
• Lenovo THEMECENTER
There are few parts which are in English, but the most parts are in Chinese.
I also have some problems with the Lock Screen. It doesn't matter which Lock Screen I use it disappears immediately after entering the pin for the sim card. And especially the bubbles ui lock screen doesn't work. When I use the list button on the left corner of the phone => theme => lock screen => bubbles ui/ 泡泡 only the little girl appears but no bubbles.
And the last problem is LTE 4G doesn't work. As I seeked out the phone uses TD-LTE:B38, 39, 40, 41MHz, FDD-LTE:B3, B7 MHZ and I learned that all TD-LTE bands only work in Chinese mainland. However, the FDD-LTE bands should work in Europe and so I started looking for a signal and running arround outside. I burned a lot of calories and got a lot of fresh air, but i did not found a signal. Does a FDD-LTE band which is integrated in a Chinese phone work in Europe?
It would be really nice if there is somewhere outside who could help me with these issues, please!!! I'm not a computer genius so I probably can't install a new EU-ROW version. It would be great if there would be other (software) solutions.

I just want to share my experiences with the above posted problems and possible solutions. Do not hesitate to correct me if I'm wrong!!! And sorry for the mixture of problems and the long post
Lock Screen I was able to reactivate the Bubbles UI Lock Screen by changing the default language from German to English US. I really don't know why this works, but it works. Now I can see the Bubbles UI on the Lock Screen. That's a nice feature, but I'm not sure if they are able to learn. The displayed applications are not the one I use really often. We will see....
FDD-LTE:B3, B7 MHZ which are integrated in a Vibe X2 CU version should work in Europe or in Germany, respectively. So if the phone provider supports FDD-LTE:B3, B7 there should be a 4G signal even in a Vibe X2 with a CU rom version. I haven't found a signal yet. But I keep trying. And I will improve my physical fitness by running around and looking for a 4G signal
Theme center and Mobile assistant To my knowledge there is no simple or easy way to change the Chinese language into English language or to connect the applications to other Lenovo servers which provide the English language. At the moment possible ways to deal with the problem are:
Wait and look for a EU rom version for X2-CU model which also supports dual-sim.
Learn either Chinese or prepare yourself to root your phone with a new EU version (if available). But be careful you will lost your warranty if you do so and probably brick your phone if your are not competent enough to root a mobile phone
Don't buy a Vibe X2-TO or X2-CU if your are not able to read and understand Chinese and if you would like to enjoy the full functionality of a Vibe X2
If you know better solutions, information's or ideas please do not hesitate to share!!! There will be many users and Lenovo friends from different markets who will be very happy!!!

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro (K920) battery charging time

Hello everyone,
I wonder, if anyone could help me, please.
I'm experiencing an interesting issue related to battery charging procedure of brand-new Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro (K920).
The thing is, the first two battery charging procedures took about let say 2 hours 40 minutes both.
But the third battery charging procedure took about 3 hours and 10 minutes exactly!, which I consider to be rather strange, mostly because of web reviews of this smartphone, where 2 hours and 30 minutes typical charging time is described.
I understand the fact that brand-new battery has to be initially "formatted" and it's capacity is therefore gradually increasing after few battery charging attempts.
Needles to say, after that third battery charging procedure, the battery life has been also significantly improved. I use genuine Lenovo charger which comes with the phone in the box. The only thing, which I changed since first two battery charging procedures, was turning ON "Core efficiency" in the Lenovo Battery Manager.
Could it be the reason of such extended battery charging time or is it perfectly normal bacause of gradually improving capacity for brand-new battery? Could it be defective battery? Has anyone of the owners the same experience or what is yours typical battery charging time using in-box charger?

Hello Lenovo team, I have the same issue. Took the phone to the authorized service center in Jayanagar, Bangalore, India. They replaced the display and told me that the issues was resolved. The reason for blue screen and restart was mentioned as overheating due to excessive use of 3G connectivity. I was suggested by the authroized service staff to minimize my 3G connectivity usage. In the process of replacing the display, i am left with no company provided screen guard either. I come back home and the very next day the issue appears again. It restarts with blue screen every 2 minutes. The same way as before. Now the WiFi is permanently disabled as well. Cannot activate the soft button itself from the drop down menu.I am very disappointed. I paid a good price to buy the phone expecting good performance, durability and reliability. I had definitely not expected the phone to have such major functional issues within the first 6 months of purchase. I am only hoping that Lenovo understands the seriousness of the issue and provides me a replacement for the phone. I do have some videos of the issue, if it helps you in resolving the issue.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro with no stock Android

Hello there, I recently bought in China my Lenovo Vibe Z2 pro (K920).It is rooted but not stable many hang ups and resets later I decided to update it.The following update was available. Version number: VIBEU_V2.0_1448_ST_K920_CMCC After this update still a lot of problems so eventually I did a factory reset. Now I have a phone with just the Vibe user interface. I have learned on youtube how to boot the phone in stock android to go into developer mode.But, in developer mode I have no option to switch it to stock android with google play etc. Now I have a beautiful phone but no google play to install whatapp Facebook and other cool apps. The Chinese K920 version is meant to be sold and used only in China with a certain local carrier/provider(That's why it's got the ''China Mobile'' logo on the back).The main difference between the Chinese and the international K920 version is the GSM receiver(hardware difference)....
.....It seams there is a partial workaround(To make the Chinese version more ''internationally 3G/4G friendly'') but my experience with the Chinese K920 is limited and in this case it would be better to ask the actual users->

[Lenovo Vibe X2 - AP]: SIM registration failed after firmware flashing

Hello forum,
I have a Lenovo Vibe X2 -AP, India version.
I flashed EU ROM in my phone only to realize that EU is meant for single SIM devices only. So in order to get second SIM working, I put CU & then TO ROM I found on needrom.com. With these Chinese ROMs my second 2G SIM started working but first LTE SIM was not getting registered. So I put EU ROM again .. Now both SIMs are not getting detected. IMEI is shown as "unknown".
There is no AP ROW ROM on the internet.
Is my device unrecoverable now? Do I Have any option?

Well, Im a Lenovo Newbie. I just purchased a Lenovo Vibe X" from Amazon as m sony fell off my bike and smashed to pieces, and the Lenovo looked so nice.It arrived today, it is super sexy, and super light which is great, however after a little reading and research, like so many others my bargain phone came at a price in thats it full of chinese apps, that I cant seem to get rid of. I have seen many posts in other forums on rom replacements, rooting etc, and though I am technical, many of these sights dont actually offer an actual working method. Surely someone on this forum can offer assistance to such things. I will be happy to just root it and remove the apps I do not want or need. I will need to be able to use the phone as an android device, so my thinking is to root will give me what I need to remove things, but not replace the actual rom with something custom built by someone I dont know. ANy one able to render assistance at all. It really is a great looking phone.

This forum generally deals with the ROW International Lenovo devices.Information on CN only devices is limited.The Lenovo X2-CU is the Chinese/CU=China Unicom version.The ROW models are the X2-EU and X2-AP(market dependent)
As far as I know THIS are the X2-CU specs.
HSDPA: 850 900 1700 1900 2100 HSPA+
Just to make sure you can install THIS app and check the supported frequencies.
Open app->MTK Settings->BandMode->Check the supported frequencies(on SIM1 and SIM2).
Please do provide an update.Might help other X2-CU users.

Please help me out in the following problem.
I brought a new mobile in beijing china - Lenovo Vibe X, where i get the phone with all chinese language. i did changes in the settings. still all my apps are in chinese and basic commands from the phone appears in chinese.
Kindly help me out to solve the issue.

I noticed, that Lenovo Vibe Z2 is already available in EMEA as of this week and cost rougly 299 euro. I am not sure if this is the final price or the price can still go down.
Does anyone know what is the model name of Vibe Z2? LIke k920 is the Pro version so what is this phone called?
Finally, do you know if the 2GB of RAM is sufficient for running the VIBE UI smoothly?
Is the Vibe UI exactly the same as for this phone as for the Pro version and do you think it will get updated to Andorid L?

I got my hands on Lenovo Vibe Z2 (not the PRO) yesterday, so I thought I give some update here on the model. It was releised last week in Slovakia and probably whole EMEA.
It as a 5.5 inch and it feels quite well in hand, in fact it feels like a normal phone and not a phablet. Desptie 5.5 inch it feels like 5 inch in hand, it is very conftable in fact and lighter than the PRO version.
Although it is still metalic, it is a bit differently desgined than the PRO version. One could argue it looks even nicer. The main downside, is that the metalic buttons seemed shaky making little noises when touched slightly.
The VIBE UI on a Vibe Z2 is similar but not exactly the same as the PRO version. For example, the camera has no professional mode. There might be a few other difference too.
Questions:
Does anyone know if there is still the option to use stock android in Vibe Z2?
I also wonder if there is the Secure Zone or that is also gone for Vibe Z2?
(Sorry, I did not get to test these two).

Could be a software issue(the OS isn't installed correctly) or may be a hardware issue.
You should take it to a Lenovo service center for a check-up.Your warranty should cover this.

Not able to connect to wifi wpa2 networks in lenovo vibe x2. It displayed saved.but not connecting. It connects to open and WEP wifi networks. Please help

Are you trying to connect to a 2.4GHz or a 5GHz network?
What encryption is your router set to use : AES,TKIP/AES,..?
Have you tried to unplug the router from the power source for 2-3 minutes->Plug it back in-> Wait until it establishes an Internet connection-> Try to recreate the phone connection.

Problems with the Lenovo Vibe x S960

I had bought Lenovo vibe x Almost 1 month ago and I am Experiencing lot of problems with this phone.
Although having a 1.5Ghz processor it lags in many apps and games like asphalt 8, fast n furious, robocop etc.
experienced lot of problems especially with the battery and earphones.
The earphones button doesnt work to pause/play music.
It says "try again when you're online"
Why do i have to be online to Play/Pause music.
Btw my earphone had also screwed up.
After using it for a while the right side had stopped working.
Once i had charged it to 100% and then i removed charger and locked screen and then it stopped working.
Didnt switch on again.
Sent for repair and they tell me its working.
After receiving from service it stopped working again.
When connected to wifi or data usage, it restarts automatically sometimes.
Cannot boost wifi usage well, slows down wifi speed if others are using the wifi on their phones. My phones wifi slows, but others' phones still work.(embarrassing).
Takes long time to turn on data and get connected to cellular networks.
Dont feel like buying any lenovo product in future.
Also it was very difficult to find support for lenovo phones.
Take my advice DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

After update android KitKat, my device having a lot of problem like:
Bluetooth software missing, Wi-Fi connection problem, Screen always hang.
That, I had reset to factory setting but Android KitKat still no don't change. After reset, my device show Your Device on metamode. Then it come missing some ROM file and corrupted.
