Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro with no stock Android

Hello there, I recently bought in China my Lenovo Vibe Z2 pro (K920).It is rooted but not stable many hang ups and resets later I decided to update it.The following update was available. Version number: VIBEU_V2.0_1448_ST_K920_CMCC After this update still a lot of problems so eventually I did a factory reset. Now I have a phone with just the Vibe user interface. I have learned on youtube how to boot the phone in stock android to go into developer mode.But, in developer mode I have no option to switch it to stock android with google play etc. Now I have a beautiful phone but no google play to install whatapp Facebook and other cool apps. How can I make this phone a stock android phone? Thanks in advance, Ger van de Kolk

The Chinese K920 version is meant to be sold and used only in China with a certain local carrier/provider(That's why it's got the ''China Mobile'' logo on the back).The main difference between the Chinese and the international K920 version is the GSM receiver(hardware difference)....
.....It seams there is a partial workaround(To make the Chinese version more ''internationally 3G/4G friendly'') but my experience with the Chinese K920 is limited and in this case it would be better to ask the actual users->

Hi everyone.
Its my first time to own a lenovo phone and its my first post also in this forum. Needless to say, i fell in love with the lenovo vibe z2 pro.
I just have a few concerns:
1. The power button in my unit is wobbly (at least compared to the volume buttons). Is this normal, and is the case of the users here, too?
2. There is a little light leak below the capacitive buttons, on the frame connecting the glass. I only notice this if i am in a DARK room when the buttons light up. No dealbreaker for me, but i would just like to know if this is the same as your unit, too?
The first thing i notice in this forum is that threads are not that organized. With all due respect to the admins, I wish the there were threads under different model names.
Im sorry if i had to create a new thread for this topic. If already existing, please merge/delete admins.

You can see what app drains your batter in "Settings -> Power Manager -> Power consumption details". You can analyze that for a bit and adjust your phone accordingly. Factory reset would delete all third party apps that could drain your batter or readjust the phone settings, but you don't need to do that as long as you can find out what apps are draining your battery.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro getting restart always

I am using Lenovo Vibe Z2 pro and this phone gets restart automatically regularly. I am getting very fed up and even tried factory data reset but this error is coming again.
Phone automatically goes for shut down and then blue light comes up in LED, I will be honest here and I have mussed atleast four to five meetings by not waking up on time as fone was shutdown automatically.
I am attaching sreenshot of the setting page, please see and let me know the resoltion asap else I might need to switch to any other brand by selling Lenovo.

Did you had this issue from day 1 ?
Could be a software issue(the OS isn't installed correctly) or may be a hardware issue.
You should take it to a Lenovo service center for a check-up.Your warranty should cover this.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro getting restart automatically.

I am using Lenovo Vibe Z2 pro and i have observed from last couple of week this phone gets restart automatically and then it's shows one sign in the top up of the screen, this sign is with the phone and red bubble in the secure icon.
Can anybody help me to understand and fix this problem ?

The phone is DSDS(Dual Sim/Dual Standby) not DSFA(Dual Sim/Full active).

Lenovo Vibe Z2 pro: Screen calibration

The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro has a gorgeous screen, but it is not calibrated optimally. When in the gallery app, the contrast and colour is so much better then in the rest of the UI. To see the difference, compare the wallpaper of the phone and the same picture in the built in gallery. Why can't the screen be awesome all over, and not only in gallery?
I know we can tweak the display settings in custom mode, but I can't get anything close to the gallery app. Hope the next update fix this.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro (K920) battery charging time

Hello everyone,
I wonder, if anyone could help me, please.
I'm experiencing an interesting issue related to battery charging procedure of brand-new Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro (K920).
The thing is, the first two battery charging procedures took about let say 2 hours 40 minutes both.
But the third battery charging procedure took about 3 hours and 10 minutes exactly!, which I consider to be rather strange, mostly because of web reviews of this smartphone, where 2 hours and 30 minutes typical charging time is described.
I understand the fact that brand-new battery has to be initially "formatted" and it's capacity is therefore gradually increasing after few battery charging attempts.
Needles to say, after that third battery charging procedure, the battery life has been also significantly improved. I use genuine Lenovo charger which comes with the phone in the box. The only thing, which I changed since first two battery charging procedures, was turning ON "Core efficiency" in the Lenovo Battery Manager.
Could it be the reason of such extended battery charging time or is it perfectly normal bacause of gradually improving capacity for brand-new battery? Could it be defective battery? Has anyone of the owners the same experience or what is yours typical battery charging time using in-box charger?

Lenovo VIBE Z2 Pro - Original Accessories where to buy?

Hello, I would like to know where to buy original accessories for Lenovo VIBE Z2 Pro ? I would like to buy 1. Power adapter 2. Car holder & charger 3. Car set 4. Headphones I tried to call support services at Slovakia and Czech republic but unfortunately they offer repair or warranty services but they do not sell accessories. I am not interesting about alternatives from other producers. I am ready to buy worldwide. Thank you.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro Camera Error Issue

Hi, I am using Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro for the past 2 months. Suddenly from Yesterday onwards the camera is not connecting and throw up a message "Camera error - Cannot connect to Camera".
I tired various options like restart the phone, clear the cache in the app. Nothing Works. Can any one help me to fix this problem. The front camera connects and main camera is showing error.

Did you restart the device already? If not do so. Did you try a third party camera app? If not dowload from the playstore the goolge camera. Did you try to run the camera in the secure mode? Where all the other apps that might be blocking it are not availavle? Finally, if you properly back up your phone, you can do the factory reset and get it as new from factory. You should find the factory reset in settings somewhere towards the bottom of the options. Be aware all your apps and date will get erased by this, but you will get the phone system as new from the factory.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro wireless 802.11ac support

Does this phone support 802.11ac ? On GSM Arena it sais that its only Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n but I just cant beleive it doesnt support ac ??!

As a side note this(see picture) is the average WI-FI speed I get on the K920.Don't know how relevant the image is for you....but WI-FI speed isn't really a problem on the Z2 Pro.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 PRO - memory usage

Hello all,
I have a big issue with above mentioned phone. Bought it 2 months ago. It had 1,5 GB ram available stock from box from 3 GB total!!! So I tried to disable som apps. Installed CleanMaster etc. Nothing worked. It got wors when I installed all my apps. Now I have just 1 GB of ram free at all times. It is an awful experience so far for my and I regret buying this phone. I should've buy the Nexsus 5 / LG G3 or something like that. BTW switching the UI from Lenovo to Google no change. It is NOT a STOCK Android at all. This was one of the factors I bought the phone fore (and also dual sim).
I would appreciate any reply how to solve this issue.
For FUTURE Lenovo please do something with this please. Looking forward to Lollipop update. DON'T bother with UI switch / Google UI. Either release stock Android ROM or do just Lenovo UI, not both. BTW Lenovo UI is quite nice looking. Prefer it over Samsung Touchwiz.

You have 1.5GB or 1.0GB free, so what seems to be the problem?
Empty RAM is useless. If RAM is being put to good use then you can save battery and increase the performance of your device. While in RAM the app will be paused and will not use up your resources, unless it is running like a music player but most apps will be paused.
If Android needs more memory, it will quit the app that you haven’t used in a while automatically, without you having to do anything, and especially without using task killers. On the contrary, task killers run in your memory and consume a lot of resources and are not as well optimised as Android so they would be killing unecessary apps.
Also if you force-quit an app that you are using very often, then android needs more resources to start the app again, thus consuming more battery and also slowing down your processor. It is much better for android to have these apps paused in the background, as it can just get them from RAM without using as much resources.
Now with 1.5GB of RAM available you have quite a lot of extra space for additional apps, so you should really not worry that if you get to 1GB of RAM you device will slow down, on the contrary, it will be faster as it can access of the apps in the RAM more effectively. This is how android works, look it up.
Finally, if you want to get to the original phone settings without the unecessary app killers you installed, you just go to back up and reset and there you can reset the phone to factory settings. You can also avoid backing up all the mess thet you want to get rid off, to get to a out of factory experience.
Using stock android should free up a bit of memory in the factory settings form, in my view. However, it will not stop the pre-installed lenovo apps. If you want to do that, you can disable all the apps that you do not fancy, via Settings > Apps > find the app and click disable. Same for notifications. You can't disable some apps that are linked to the hardware.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro Overheating

I thought the last sw update solved the overheating in this phone?
I could only play 3 minutes of gaming and the device starts to heat up. Example of games is real boxing, and my God, even freefall. I play these games in my old note 2 and i don't encounter overheating.
Anybody experiencing the same?

I am just a user, but I can confirm that Vibe Z2 Pro does overheat on games that other phones do not overheat on. Even Vibe Z2 (not pro) is okay with Plants vs. Zombies 2 and Vibe Z2 Pro will overheat on it. Just simple enjoy the extra love and warm that Z2 Pro gives you. It should never overheat to a leve when you can't hold it in hands so dont worry. If it is warm it means the phone loves you.
