Lenovo wireless keyboards works without usb transmitter?

Thinking about buying new keyboard however would like a wireless one. It annoys me though that one usb port should be occupied by the little transmitter.anybody knows whether the Lenovo keyboards can communicate directly with the pc? There is no BT on my Erazer X510. BR Michael

I have (well, I built it for a friend) a K8N Neo Platinum & Logitech's Cordless Desktop MX (Bluetooth) combo. No issues with wireless connectivity. 1.4 BIOS (no probs with 1.4x betas or 1.51) and USB KB/Mouse is disabled in BIOS.
As far as getting into the CMOS goes, there is a slight delay on the keyboard when it powers up. I just start tapping delete 1-2 seconds early.

Is it possible that you have a bad bunch of batteries?
My Magic Mouse on one computer and the Mighty Mouse on another use batteries I bought through the Apple store (with a charger). They last a long time.

Another possiblity is that the mouse is defective. Since the keyboard connects, it has to be the mouse or the batteries.

  • Apple wireless Keyboard work in XP?

I am weighing up getting a MBP to use as a replacement for my PC.
I am thinking of using Bootcamp to boot the MBP into windows XP but I also have a wireless OSX keyboard (old style not thenewer thing ones)
Will this work ok on Windows XP?
I have thought of parallels or VMware, but have heard that some soundcards/drivers etc dont work properly so maybe its best that I do bootcamp and use the macbook as a pc
    Thanks

As an owner of a Mac Book Pro and Mac Pro I can attest to and confirm that the Apple Mighty Wireless keyboard works perfectly in Windows XP SP2+. However, the Mighty Wireless mouse is another story, atleast for me.

  • 57Y6336 LENOVO WIRELESS KEYBOARD N5901 (WW-B)

Unfortunately I cannot get the product to work suitably. I've connected the USB drive to my [dell] computer, and even sitting less than one feet from the computer, the wireless keyboard/mouse stops responding and loses the signal to the computer many times within a few seconds. To troubleshoot i have tried the following:
    Changed the battery
    Changed the USB port
    Tried on another computer
Sat inches away from the computer
The remote is recognized by my computer as it works sometimes, but usually goes in and out of the signal. Regrettably, after all those tries i cannot get the lenovo to work properly. Which is very disappointing as i really wanted to remove my wireless keyboard and mouse and use this instead. This has gotten me extremely  frustrated for the last few days.
Please help me troubleshoot, or perhaps return the product to get my money back (who do i contact? Been searching for an email address for technical support for 30 mins but couldn't find it )

You are not alone here. I received this keyboard a week ago which was DOA. I've been trying to get help with no luck. I purchased a Lenovo laptop 2 months ago and praying that nothing would happen.
I wont buy any "Lenovo" product any more.

  • Wireless keyboard (non apple) + usb receiver = wake from sleep?

Does a non apple wireless keyboard with its own usb receiver wake the computer from sleep? if so any other issues / concerns when using one?

With regard to the USB port, I have always had my keyboard plugged directly into an original USB1.1 port. I save the USB2.0 ports (PCI Card) for scanner, hard disks, etc that would actually benefit from the speed increase. I do know that the buttons on my scanner (for instant scan/copy etc) work perfectly if the computer is awake, but will not wake the computer from sleep.
With regard to programming the other keys, my microsoft keyboard has a preference pane that allows you to define different functions for all the keys. This came on a cd with the keyboard, but only windows version. Had to download the mac version from microsoft.com website.
I've never tried a bluetooth keyboard. Perhaps with next computer purchase.
When I was shopping for a keyboard - the one thing that pushed me to the microsoft keyboard was greater flexibility in defining functions for the keys. For instance, The play, fast forward, rewind, volume keys always access itunes regardless of what program is running, except for imovie, where they instead control playback. If I hold down the shift key and push them in imovie, then they again control itunes. Similarly, I set the "my favorites" keys to link to certain websites in safari, certain albums in iphoto, certain playlists in itunes, and certain folders in the finder or otherwise. This control was more robust at the time (5 years ago) and still functions well for me. Not sure if other manufacturers have this now or not.

  • Will a wireless keyboard work for booting?

I am about to get a Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop for Mac.
Should I need to boot using some key commands, will the wireless system work, or do I need a wired keyboard?
    Thanks!

Hi! Some will and some won't so keep the original keyboard. Tom

  • How can I make the wireless keyboard work

MMy wireless keyboard was working when I purchased it it at the end of dec. now it's not working.

    Please post more details.
Is your keyboard an Apple keyboard.   Did you buy it new.   Was it in its original packing.   Where did you buy it from?
Have you recently put in new batteries.   What brand are they?

  • TS4494 Do you know if the Apple wireless keyboard work on windows 8??

I'd like to introduce my cousin to the apple world giving him as a birthday present an apple wireles keyboard, but he uses windows 8 on his laptop. Does anyone knows if it is compatible ?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
It's compatible, but it won't work as expected. The function keys for brightness and volume won't work, as they are designed to work with Macs.
Another possibility you have is to download the Boot Camp support software from the Apple website, decompress it, look for the Wireless Keyboard driver and install it. However, this shouldn't be needed because you shouldn't have any different problem than the function keys

  • Does the 1st generation apple wireless keyboard work with an iPad?

    Hi
I want to get a keyboard for my iPad but I don't know if this one works with my iPad 2. Can someone help please??!!

Should work just fine, I have a 1G Apple wireless keyboard and it connected just fine to my iPad 3.
Any reason why you want to use a first generation Apple keyboard? They require 3 AA batteries and can drain them fairly fast. The second and present wireless keyboard only needs 2 AA's and the batteries last much longer. I use rechargeable batteries in my 2G keyboard as well and since my charger only charges batteries in pairs makes the 1G limited to alkaline batteries.

  • Will magic mouse and wireless keyboard work with my G4?

hello, i have a 1.25 Ghz ppc g4 imac and have leopard installed. i was wondering if i get a bluetooth dongle and a magic mouse and wireless keyboard would it work? would i also need a special kind of bluetooth adapter? i already have airport extreme, im going for the modern mac one wire (power cord) look. thank you.

According to this on the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB829LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA1Mg
the Magic Mouse requires at least OS 10.5.8 whcih you don't have.
The current wireless keyboard requires 10.6 which cannot run on a G4 iMac.
I would look to third-party solutions. I like Logitech input devices:
    http://www.logitech.com/en-us/home
However, even the Logitech devicez may require a higher version of the Mac OS than you have. Be certain to check system requirements very closely before buying something.

  • Can the apple wireless keyboard work with Apple TV

I just set up my ATV and was wondering if it can recognize an apple wireless keyboard. If so, how would I set that up?

No, this is not currently possible.
If you have an iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad you could use Apple's Remote app.

  • I have a 2013 Buick Enclave with Pandora icon on the screen. I was told that to connect my iphone 5 with USB port and that worked. But as soon as I disconnected, Pandora went out on screen. Only works plugged in now. Should work without USB connected.

I have a 2013 Buick Enclave with Pandora and Stitcher on the nav screen. With my Samsung S3, Pandora automatically lit up and worked. with new iphone5, I was told I need to connect USB port to car and phone and start Pandora. That worked and the icon on screen lit up. but as soon as I removed the USB cord, Pandora and Stitcher greyed out and stopped working. I know it's supposed to work on the car's nav screen once I hardwire it (at least that's what I was told), but as soon as I disconnect, they stop working through the car.  How can I install Pandora and Stitcher on my car WITHOUT having the usb cord attached? the idea is to be able to use the car's touch screen to control Pandora, but with the phone plugged into the USB port, I can only use the phone to control Pandora, which of course is dangerous when driving!  And it worked correctly with the samsung, so I have to believe it can work with the iphone 5! Right?  Thanks.

You cannot install the apps on the car.
The cars head unit is merely acting as an interface to the apps on the device.
If you want to use those apps in the car, plug the device in and leave it plugged in.

  • Will Wireless WRT54G3G Work with USB Broadband card?

Hi, I bought the WRT54G3G Router... When it arrived I realized it was made to take a plug in Broadband card with the small connectors. I have a USB broadband card. Does anyone know if it will still work via another method, ie: via a lan line, or if there is an adapter for the wireless plugin that would convert it so it could be used with a USB port? Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thank you... Jo

i don't think it would work with the USB card... it is made only for the PCMCIA cards...

  • Wireless Keyboard is not working and I cannot boot to MAC using Boot Camp

    Hi,
I cannot get my wireless keyboard to connect to the Mac anymore. I have a 17" iMac that is running Boot Camp. since the Mac keyboard is not working I am using a PC USB keyboard (which does not have an "option" key) without the Option key I cannot enter Mac mode, so I only get the default boot to XP... HELP!!! Is there any other way to get into Mac mode without using the option key on the keyboard? Or is there another key on the PC keyboard that maps to Option?
    Thanks

I wrote up my travails getting the wireless keyboard working, maybe it will help: http://industriousone.com/apple-wireless-keyboard-vs-windows-xp. Otherwise, you can boot into OSX by clicking on the Boot Camp icon in the system tray (looks like a gray diamond) and choose "Reboot in OS X mode" (or something like that, working from memory). In OS X, you can reboot into Boot Camp by going to System Preferences > Startup Disk and choosing Windows. Hope that helps!
