Hi I recently bought a Lenovo X201 Series Laptop but the screen is cracked it has a touchscreen interface I would like to know can I replace the touchscreen with a 12.1inch LED or LCD Screen as I dont want to spend to much on a touch screen details of laptop is below

there is a lot matrices are installed into x201t. Models also depend of the backlight type - LED or CCFL. I'm not sure whether any supported matrices models are compatible with your laptop. Also there are different LCD cable assembly and LCD rear cover assembly depending of the backlight type.
To ensure what matrice you have and what's compatible check out on Lenovo' site parts list of your laptop by its [laptop] serial number. Support site doesn't answer a question by MTM only.
I think it's impossible to fit non touch matrice into the tablet because of the different size (width). Compare the width of x201 and x201t.

Service parts DB says your laptop has 12.1-in. WXGA LCD panel, LED backlight (300-nit LCD), FRU 45N6092 or 45N5388.

Cannot use recovery cd`s of lenovo T60 series thinkpad

hi i am manu and i am using a lenovo T60 series thinkpad laptop.
lastday operating system crashed and up on one of my friends i installed a windows xp evaluation version (only after installation i came to know it was evaluation and needs activation).
after all these only i checked my recovery cds and its manual. by that time every thing in the hard disk has been formatted.now when i insert recovery cd 1 and it continues till 2% and then hangs down. after some time message shows that files have been recovered and remove disks and restart. but when restarted this is what is shown please help me....

your recovery cds, are these cds which you created yourself, or are they from Lenovo?
Please also state how many discs you have and what they are named.
This information will enable members to offer you hopefully the right solution.

Lenovo x201 tablet laptop Integrated Webcam not working

I recently had to reinstall windows onto the Lenovo x201 tablet laptop and I can't get the integrated webcam to work on Google+. I tried downloading the integrated camera driver but during installation it stops about 3/4s of the way and the installation cancels. Not sure how to fix this , I checked under Device Manager and the camera driver is not listed under imaging devices. Does anyone have a solution to this? Thanks.

After that please perform the following steps.
1. Press Fn+F6 to enable the camera.
2. Click the Manage Settingsbutton. The Communications Utility window opens.
3. In the Communications Utility window, configure the camera settings depending on your individual needs.

Can't Access Oracle EBS with a Lenovo X201 laptop

My Company runs Oracle E-Business Suite version 11.5.10.2. I recently had to get a new laptop (Lenovo X201). I can log onto the Oracle Application Home Page and select a responsibility, but when I select an operation, like Invoice Inquiry in the Payables Module for instance, I get the following message, "This tab has been recovered. A problem with this web page has caused Internet Explorer to close and reopen the tab." The laptop is running the XP operating system and Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702. Our IT staff can't figure out the problem. They looked at all the usual cause for problems, like pop-up blockers, etc. They also spoke to Lenovo Support without finding a resolution. We experienced a similar problem with Dell laptops that they were able to resolve. Has anyone experienced this problem with a recent-vintage Lenovo computer and found a solution?

Can you find any details about the error in Apache log files and/or Sun JRE Console Window?
If the issue is reproducible, please make sure you meet the minimum requirements as per these docs.

Flickering problem on screen - 3000 series N200 laptop

Hello!
I have a 3000 series N200 laptop (0769 type) for 3 years. Approximately 3 months ago, there was a screen problem that the screen had white vertical gridlines. Service replaced the chipset of the graphical card.
Yesterday, a flickering problem has been appeared. I updated bios and display drivers from below link.

Could not get a solve with those updates. Then, I dismounted the front cover of screen. Re-assembled the LVDS FFC cable of the LCD display a couple of times, problem continued. Then, re-assembled the inverter cables. It also did not provide a solution.

Hello suguz and welcome to community,
As you have already updated the video driver and BIOS then you can check with adjusting the monitor refresh rate to 60Hrz.
Kindly check the same issue in BIOS mode and if issue continues then it might fault with Lcd display.

For others with this problem, there are a couple solutions. First you can use the ALT codes, but this requires a separate numeric keypad (not the numbers along the top of a laptop). Instructions for that are here.
With a laptop you need to use one of the alternate methods here.
Or if you are using Firefox or PaleMoon you can use this addon. The last is my favorite because it allows you to use characters from any language, including extended characters, with no need to lookup a code. Here is the Euro € and it took 2 mouse clicks.

Lenovo X201, ethernet Intel 82577LM, no network

It loads the module e1000e. I have arch installed. It loads the module
e1000e and ifconfig reacts. It won't register the ip-address assigned
through dhcp.

I downloaded the package (the *.xz file) from the repo, for example http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/i686/dhclient/ (watch the "Package Actions" box top right), transferred it through USB memory stick to the laptop then "pacman -U ...*.xz".
- Comment out all the four lines: eth0, INTERFACES, gateway and ROUTES in /etc/rc.conf
- kill dhcpcd (dhcpcd -k eth0) or reboot
- do "dhclient eth0".

Help a comp noob ... TSMService.exe freezes my Lenovo X-41 Tablet. Why, oh why?

I have a Lenovo X-41 Think Pad tablet laptop. When I start it, it freezes up with CPU at 100%. Only going in the Task Manager and ending the process: TSMService.exe drops the CPU down. Then, the comp works fine (the TSMResident.exe is still there and doesn't need to be ended). The TSMService.exe seems to be a Lenovo program. Anyone know what's going on here? What does TSMService.exe do for the comp?
Anything I can do about all this?

Same issue with TSM Resident. Wonder if it's related?
I have an issue that is plaguing my ThinkPad X230 Tablet. I cannot afford to be without it for a week to send it into the depot and am not sure they will be able to replicate the issue even if I do.
Two things are happening.
Tablet is placed in the docking station. If I turn it on, it will lock up at the ThinkPad screen and never fully load Windows (Win 7 64-bit). If I take it out of the docking station, hard crash it, and then restart, it will start right up. I then wait for the Windows home screen and place back in the docking station. When I do this, TSM Resident immediately quits. This is recurrent. The error message is:

First off, what could be causing the hang up when the Tablet is in the docking station?
Second, what is TSM Resident and how do I get it to stop crashing when I put the tablet into the docking station?
I plan to call a local Lenovo service center to see if I can bring everything in to them (monitor and peripherals included) to see if they can fix it, but would like to know if anyone has experience fixing this type of problem first as that is a lot of work to drag dual 27 inch monitors, external drives, USB router, etc in so they can see the exact setup. Thank you.

That orb pairs with an ASUS RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 upstairs.
On the downside, it's something permanently plugged into my USB port.
On the upside, with a USB cord extender, it easily stays put on the laptop coffee table. And I like the idea of the antenna being further away from my brain. Most importantly, the performance is compelling. (it seems to be twice as fast as before)

Any Lenovo laptop with mini PCI-E port should support 802.11ac as long as there's no whitelist in the BIOS. I could've put the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 on my Y470, but instead I chose the Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 since the Wireless-AC version has a bluetooth integrated which conflicts with my Broadcom bluetooth that came with the laptop. The Wireless-AC itself works, but both my Broadcom bluetooth and Intel's bluetooth won't work (they both show an yellow triangle with exclamation point on Device manager). The Wireless-N version has no bluetooth so the built-in Broadcom bluetooth works fully.

Bluetooth Freezing up on Lenovo T Series Computers

I own three Lenovo Laptops (T400-Win 7 x86, T430-WIn 7 x64 and T520-Win7 x64) and I have problems with the Bluetooth locking or Freezing up. Its more prevalent on my T430 system than the other two although it happens with them occasionally too. Typical I have issue when booting up my T430. The booth tooth never seems to load. I simply select the Fn +F5 key and re-boot the Bluetooth and I'm off. With the T520 and T400 the problem usual occurs while using the computer. Happen 2 - 3 times a week. Again, all I have to do is select the Fn+F5 key and re-boot the Bluetooth radio and typically have no further issues. Any suggestions about what maybe going on.

Lenovo X201 external monitor resolution issue

Hi,
I'm having issues connecting my Lenovo X201 through the docking station -> display port -> Dell 3011. The native resolution for the monitor is 2560x1600. However, I currently can only set the resolution to 1920x1080 (ugly!) as any high resolution results in the monitor entering power save mode.
I'm using xrandr to set the video mode in my .xinitrc (running dwm). This creates a good Xinerama config for dwm.
I'm currently using the line
xrandr --output DP1 --mode 1920x1080 --above LVDS1
to set my resolution. When I change to --auto or --mode 2560x1600, or 1920x1200 etc I get the blank screen on the external monitor. I'm using the xf86-video-intel-sna driver package (I tried the -uxa as well to no avail).
Any hints?

I was able to get it by having arandr help generate the config, here's the solution that worked for me:
xrandr --output HDMI1 --off --output LVDS1 --auto --right-of DP1 --output DP1 --pos 0x0 --rotate normal --auto --output VGA1 --off

Think there is really nothing you could do. Mine is also faulty. I changed the internal battery of the m/board and the bios set up continuously asked me to press F1 to enter setup or F2 to resume. Worst, it getting from bad to worst, the power supply seems to be giving trouble too. I am a seasoned guy who used to build desktop from scrap and i have one that is based on 486 which is still working today. Inspite of its fame(ie IBM) lenovo's m/board doesn't seem to be so lasting afterall.
