Lenovo X61 has no wireless and no pressure sensitivity! Help!

I bought a refurbished Lenovo X61 computer and restored it back to factory settings. Now it's not detecting my wireless at all. When I turn on the switch, it only detects bluetooth. Also there's no pressure sensitivity in any of the art programs I'm using but there is a degree of pressure sensitivity in the handwriting bar. I checked the bios and updated it and it's still going through some updates. I can use the internet but only if I connect it directly to the router. Can someone help me figure out what's going on and how to fix this?

If you haven't already done so, install and run TVSU. It should find and install all your missing drivers. The ThinkVantage utilities will also be there if you want them.

CS4 x64 severe brush lag and no pressure sensitivity

Hi,
When I use Photoshop CS4 Extended x64, I experience really bad brush lag when drawing. This doesn't happen with the 32-bit version, and unfortunately it seems to make x64 the default version to open everything with (such as Open With and file associations).
I also do not have any pressure sensitivity with the x64, but the 32-bit version is absolutely fine. I'm using a Wacom tablet.
Can anyone explain why it's so bad in the x64 version and any possible way to fix these two problems?
It would be nice to fix this issue so I can actually use the x64 version, however at the minute it would be easier to just use the 32-bit version. Unfortunately I cannot seem to get it to use this instead of the x64 when opening files from Explorer. It's very iritating. I have tried to uninstall the x64 one, but I don't see an option to keep the 32-bit version on.
I'm running Vista Ultimate x64 SP1, 8800 GT, 4GB RAM, GPU settings all on in CS4.

It's not an Intuos3. It's a Bamboo. Drivers are latest.
Like I said, everything works fine in 32-bit version. Brush is perfect, pressure sensitivity is great.
x64 it's awful. Start drawing and there's a lag before it actually gets drawn, which means I'm missing loads of brush strokes and it can't keep up (although it's the beginning moment that's causing the most grief). Of course there's no pressure sensitivity either so it's absolutely useless.
I tried the steps you mentioned and there was absolutely no difference. Something is wrong with the x64 version.
I can't be hassled to attempt to figure out what the issue is. I can't be bothered with using the x64 version when the 32-bit one is completely fine - it's not like I'd be getting any advantages from the x64 version anyway. I'd like to be able to just get rid of the x64 one and keep the 32-bit version, or have 32-bit as my default and never have x64 even launch.
Is there any way I can do that?

Macbook has been hacked and Genius Bar cannot help..anyone here please?!

My MacBook has been hacked, the mouse started moving on its own and clicking etc. the next day someone called my home and told me my system had been hacked, which I guessed was the mouse activity. So I downloaded the programme they asked me to, stupidly, which enabled them to remotely control my computer. The screen went blue and they started opening my documents / creating folders etc. I had a nasty feeling the whole time and when this happened i force shut down my latop. Ever since then sporadically the mouse will start playing up and clicking onto things etc. Everytime this happens I immediately shut down. I have been to Apple 3 times and had my computer wiped but it still happens. trackpad has been tested and is fine. I have called my internet provider and they say nothing looks out of the ordinar. Called a non emergency police number and other than advising me to change passwords and Bank details, which I had already done, no one can help me. I have adjusted my computer security settings, unplugged my internet cables etc. I literally can't think what else I can do to try and fix this. I work freelance design and my laptop is so important, I'm getting so frustrated that nobody can help!! please get in touch if you can help me!! Thanks a lot.

3.1 upgrade has certain photos and movies blank - need help

I have 99% of the 15k photo library converted fine, however I have a hundred or so that are not there, when I browse the photo, the preview is blank and same is true for some movies. I have the following error with the movies. The file MVI_0041.MOV could not be found because the volume on which it resides is currently offline, then it lists the root harddisk.
I had to rebuild my machine just before the upgrade because the protools would not install and I had to restore everything from a time machine backup. Somehow not everything has come across. Its as if the photos that were not brought in by a camera hook up directly got all messed up.

I had an older backup to go back to thankfully. I apparently was forced to learn a lesson and next time I will have a current backup prior to updating. I did not know until today that recovery mode means all data is lost. Oh well... Thank you for responding!

CS3 Has Stopped Working and Won't Reinstall - HELP I can't Work!

Hi, I have CS3 running on a Windows Vista 32 bit PC with 4 gig of
RAM, dual core processor. The other day I went to use Photoshop and got the
message that the product had stopped working. This turned out to be the case
with all of the apps. The solution dialog would not run from the
window. So I completely uninstalled, ran CS3 Clean Tool (all with virus
software off) and have attempted three times to reinstall (from desktop), but it
keeps coming back and telling me that Acrobat 8 installed successfully and
Shared Components installed successfully, but for each of the other products it
says "Component install failed". It also says that for Shared Components, even
though it says they installed successfully. It never askes for a product code
or key.
Since CS3 isnt current Adobe wont support. Help, I need it for work and cant
afford to upgrade!

I think I can help you--I got help from Mylenium. I have a Windows Vista 32 bit core duo and I have CS 3 Master Collection and it stopped, too. I think the problem was a Windows Update that put things in the registry. The clean tool and the uninstall from the control panel will not affect the registry. I followed these exact instruction VERY carefully and I got a clean re-install and can work now. Here is the adobe page I used--you need to find a time period of 8 or more hours to get this to work--last step is to update your software which in my case took several hours because it had been over a year since CS3 stopped for me.

HELP - anyone who has bought MacBook and started it can help!

When I first turned on my MacBook (with Mac OS 10.4.10), I started configuring it with the autolaunched Setup Assistant. I got up to the stage where I was asked to photograph myself. I messed around with it and must have tried the photography too many times because then instead of finishing the configuration, the MacBook just moved on to what I assume is normal operation.
So my question is, did I miss anything vital in the configuration? Can/should I relaunch the configuration, this time to complete it? Or do I just enter info (which I missed out on doing during incomplete configuration) another way now I am already "in the system"?
I'm quite new to Macs. Hope someone remembers the config and can help!

So you didn't purchase the MacBook new from an authorized Apple dealer or from Apple. Where ever/whomever you got it from should have given you the OS disks that came with the MacBook. You can't boot the Mac from an OS less than it came with from the factory. Are you sure that 10.4.10 is a factory installed OS? There is a way to get the Setup Assistant to re-run without reinstalling the OS. Follow this:

You don't unless you keep regular backups of your computer in which case you can restore previous backup files.

Problems connecting a Officejet 7310 wirelessly and via ethernet cable

My printer (a Officejet 7310) is connected to two PC's via a router and ethernet cable. I now wish to install a laptop as well.
I know the lap top is communicating with the router wirelessly, but I cannot get the laptop to recognise that there is a printer installed.
I have tried connecting the printer directly (via an Ethernet cable) to the laptop and this works fine. I have downloaded the latest software for the 7310 and utilised both options (wireless and cable).
Any help would be most appreciated.

Do you have an antivirus program? Does it have a firewall? If so, disable it to test.
Print a network test from the front of the printer to obtain its IP address. Type that IP address into a browser to see if you can contact the printer.

They are designed for coins... is this your first time changing the battery? Make sure you are twisting in the right direction and make sure you are pushing down on it and applying pressure at the same time you turn.

Your Power Mac G5 had an option to have an 802.11b/g AirPort Extreme Card. You basically have two choices: 1) Search the Internet for vendors that still provide this card, or 2) Get a wireless USB adapter that supports both 802.11b/g, but also the newer 802.11n standard. An example of this USB adapter can be found here.

Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
I suspect a problem with your router. Try changing the security. First use no security as a test.
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
