Lenovo y410p gt750m issues

Hello, I have a Lenovo notebook y410p (4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, NVidia GT750M 2GB), already bought this computer used, knowing the defect, only what was said to the person who bought it is that it was in BGA GPU.
Description of what happens: When the video card is activated the cooler goes to 100% of use and turn off the notebook, if not push too hard it gets some time on (about 2 min).
What I wanted to know from you is whether this notebook's behavior is compatible with the GPU BGA, the video below shows what happens when I leave the system itself choose which video card to use (it also comes with an Intel 4600), still I have not decided what I will do with the notebook, so I was not looking for any specialized company, I want to exhaust all possibilities before that ... if someone knows or has any idea what happens to be going, I'll be very grateful.
Sorry for bad english.

I understand what is BGA GPU.
So, you mean that you bought the laptop knowing that the discrete GPU needs reballing?
(If that is the case then ofcourse the laptop will not work properly)
Sorry if the above case is valid, then your laptop cannot be repaired by a software fix, it needs reballing.
Even if it has been re-balled, it may not be totally good.
About the NOVO button, there is a small button with a refresh symbol (half circled arrow).

  • Lenovo y410p screen replacement

HI I have a lenovo y410p 59399853 laptop with a 1366/768 screen that has gone faulty. I am no longer under warranty and i am in Morocco and no longer in the US where i originally got the laptop. I was wondering if a 1600/900 display would work for my laptop as a replacement or should i stick with the 1366/768 one? any help would be much appreciated!

  • Help! Brand New Lenovo A10-70 - Issue Downloading Apps

    Hi Lenovo Community,
I just purchased a brand new A10-70 tablet and while I love the price and features, there appears to be on major issue. Whenever I try to download game apps from Google Playstore, the pad errors out and tells me "Application Could Not Load to SD Card", heck I don't even have an SD card installed.
This is  actually the second tablet doing this to me. I took the first one back and exchanged it thinking that there was a software glitch but it now appears it is a platform issue.
Games such as Minecraft PE simply will not load while others appear to load fine but then when you go to open the app and  use it, you get a notice that the app is not installed.
I have other tablets from Samsung, HP and even Nabi which have never had  issues downloading game application.
    What's up with Lenovo?
I am willing  to try to get corrected but cannot wait long, will take back  and get another Samsung.
    Thanks,
    Biggzy

  • UML295 and Lenovo X1 connectivity issues

I have a UML295 and I'm attempting to use it with Lenovo's X1 Carbon (Model 20A) and I'm having some serious issues.  Well, my end user is.  After a restart, card is inserted and works perfectly.  I don't need to open up the MBB software, anything.  If I disconnect or just remove the device and wait a few minutes to plug it back in, it doesn't' work.  Indicator light turns green, flickers, etc.  No internet.  I open up the MBB software and shows I'm connected but doesn't go anywhere, or the software doesn't recognize that the card has been inserted.  It displays this behavior on multiple X1 Carbon machines that I have here.  I've tested it on an older T530 Thinkpad and it works as intended.  No need to install the MBB software neither.  As soon as the indicator light turns green, I'm good to go on internet access.
Is there a firmware update or a known issue between these cards and the X1 Carbon?  It's frustrating to our reporters that they can't use their new laptops out in the field.
    Thank you

USB modem devices need both drivers and connection software to facilitate a connection to the VZW network.  I suggest going out and downloading the latest of both from VZW and retesting on your machine.

Otherwise the problem that you mentioned here is specifically resolved by use of a Jetpack.  No drivers, no software.  All users need is normal WiFi and they will be able to access the internet just like at any other hotspot.  This was a big advantage for us in addition to the reduced hardware costs of broken USB ports on laptops and USB modems.

  • Lenovo Hard Disk Issue - Felt bad about the service

This email is regards to the complaint on Lenovo All in desktop i purchased which is still there in warranty.
I purchased All in one desktop on 25/02/2014 in one of the outlet of Reliance Digital, Bangalore,India.
Below is the detail of the product -
    SN : CSxxxxxxxx
    Product Family : C240
    Machine type : 10113.
I was getting "Error 1962 : Operating system not found" . and raised a request to rectify the problem. The service engineer came with new hard drive for replacing it. I asked for my data and they told it's customer responsibility to make the data back up. He himself gave the hard disk which was there with hard disk and asked me to back up with some third party vendor.
I visited Cadons, Bangalore for data back up and after checking Cadons engineer told hard drive is completely dead better contactLenovo again so that they will repair it and give one it is repaired i he told he will be able to make data back up.
I again called customer care executive and told that third party vendor was not able to make the data back because of hard drive failure but they are refusing to repair hard drive and each time i am receiving a call from service engineer and are just trying to close the ticket at the earliest by replacing the hard drive. No one is bothering about repairing the hard drive and helping me to take my data back up.
For your reference :Ticket number : TVSE/IDEA/7006373733/
I also sent email to [email protected] from whom i am receiving the emails stating that they will resolve the issue but no action was taken from last 20 days.
I just wanted to check whether Lenovo execut\ives are really meant to serve customer issues? If somebody is there please let me know. Otherwise i will just throw this harddisk and say good bye to Lenovo and it's products in future.

  • Thinkpad T61 - Embedded Web Camera, Lenovo Camera Center issues

Hello, Recently purchased a T61 with the embedded web cam.  The notebook comes with "Lenovo Camera Center" software (which is more like a portal for camera-related software) but there is no useful software that enables me to actually use the camera - for example, to record clips or take a snapshot with it.  Nor can I figure out where to get such software.  I signed up for Skype and the camera works fine in that context.  But other than that, I am at a loss.  Why did this T61 not come with some basic software to use the camera?  Or is this an issue with Vista?
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Then it should be possible. I was of the opinion that the cable already has the camera connector. Best to do is opening the bezel and taking a look. If I remember correctly it was placed left from the Thinklight.
You will need then a camera, a bracket and the small cover. You get this all in Ebay and alikes.

  • New Lenovo G570 Teething Issues

Dear Lenovo-connected moderators, outriders and the like (Please note that in error I originally posted this to the other thread):
I just bought in Europe a new Lenovo G570.  I have the following issues:
Since I always resize the C: partition I have removed the possibility of using one-key restore.  It seems bizarre that Lenovo would force keeping the C: partition at its initial size.  Surely it would be possible to write the one-key software to work around repartitioning the HDD.  I did the resize of the C: partition immediately after purchase as part of my personal data and program installation and found out later about the requirement not to resize.  Moreover, as far as I can recall there was no D: partition already installed, which I might have been able to live with (I prefer multiple data partitions).  Any way to fix this problem?  For I restored the C: partition to its original size but that didn't help; I couldn't get the recovery DVD's made; the one-key button was non-functional.  What do I have to do to get the recovery features back?  For I see that for very similar products a fresh install of Win 7 causes all kinds of problems, and in the absence of recovery DVD's that's really the only other option.  I should point out that at the moment the computer is working; I'm just trying to do my preventative medicine for the day the computer crashes.
Lenovo's model numbering is very confusing, as is the Lenovo habit of updating system specs on the fly.  My model name is 20079; my model number is CB01031166.  If I download the current specs for the model from the Lenovo site (just did) they don't agree with what I have.  Major differences are that my computer shipped with an Intel i5-2410M processor, a 640 GB HDD and with a separate ATI Graphics Card (Radeon Premium).  Thanks, but this leads to issues about driver updates when I search for downloads for my computer on the Lenovo site.  In particular, it's not clear to me whether I should be reflashing BIOS with the latest BIOS.  On the thread about serious issues with the Idea Pad Z570, I saw recommended the reflashing of the BIOS.  You might ask, well why would I go there?  Because the Lenovo site does not support searching on models that are not branded Think Pad or Idea Pad.  Mine's branded Essentials and it's just not recognized even in the automated search using the Internet Explorer.  So searching for Lenovo G570, that's what a Google search turned up and the specs of the Z570 are extremely similar to the G570 I have.  So if someone could tell me how to find the driver updates for my model, I'd be very grateful.
I see in the Z570 thread that if the CD is not the first boot priority then the WiFi doesn't work.  Does this also apply to my model?
When I boot with an external Sata HDD attached (to see if BIOS will recognize it for boot purposes), the boot procedure freezes until I unplug the Sata HDD.  Of course the external HDD is plugged into the USB port.  This seems to be a problem with the BIOS, although admittedly I can't recall if the BIOS flash screen shows and it freezes after, or it freezes before it reaches the BIOS flash screen.
I also see that the fan that's always running is actually a serious warranty issue.  I hadn't realized that it wasn't some quirk of my software.  So here we are with a serious warranty issue.  Update: 23/2/12.  This does not seem to be a real problem on my machine at the moment.  While the fan works more than I would have expected, it will shut down eventually once the computer is not doing anything.  Possibly the actual software I'm using on the machine is causing heavy fan use.  This is something of a relief.
According to the specs the computer ships with a USB/eSata port.  And indeed there is a port in the right place that is different from the other USB ports.  The port of course works with USB.  However, its shape is not the usual eSatap shape.  In particular it doesn't have the cutouts left and right for the usual eSatap jack.  Instead it has a cutout at the top.  But for the life of me and my dealer, there is nowhere on the Net where we can find an image of the Lenovo USB/eSata port and certainly nowhere where I can buy a jack/adaptor/external SATA disk that fits the Lenovo USB/eSata port.
Here's an image of my USB/eSata port.  It's the middle of the three ports.  Of course, on the left is something for TV that is irrelevant, and to the right is a normal USB port.  How do I find anything to work with it at eSata speeds?
    Thanks very much.

    Thanks for replying ExJamJus.
I will ask the local reseller, but I suspect they don't know more than anyone else.  The problem is that the specs are very fluid on these units--after all, I have a ATI Radeon graphics card whereas the specs typically say that its an integrated (on-the-motherboard) Intel graphics card.  Some places, as other users have noted, they do spec it as having an eSata/USB port, but there's just no plug available with that shape with any specification.  My technician who sold me the computer thought that the only possibility was that the plug would be introduced later.  He'd never seen one and he takes computers apart and fixes them.
As for the drivers, I installed all the drivers.  Nothing terrible happened except as follows:
One of the ATI Radeon updates, for Hydravision I believe, comes to an end where kdbsync.exe can't start at boot time because Open.dll is missing.  You can follow up on the Internet.  The fix is to download Open.dll and put it in the proper folder in Program files.  It works now--or at least I don't get an error message at boot time.
This is import for Lenovo: Lenovo energy management upgrade gave me the option to install on top of the old Lenovo energy management but it would require a reboot.  So I did it.  But what happened was that Lenovo energy management wouldn't start at boot time.  I tried repair, no deal.  So I had to completely uninstall Lenovo energy management and then do a fresh install.  It works now.  This is going to irritate people.  Bad for business.
It's unclear in some of these cases just what driver is installed on the computer and it's not clear whether the driver installer programs are always coded to check whether the driver being installed is not older than the installed driver.  So it makes it a little chancy to download and install a driver that was issued not long before the manufacture date of the product.

But your best bet is to send it into Lenovo and they'll most likely "CID" - Customer Induced damage - unless otherwise. But they're really good about it and will negotiate proper prices with you!

  • Lenovo Y50 Microphone Issue

I started using my Lenovo Y50 about a month ago and have been having an ongoing problem with external microphones/headsets.The issue is that when I plug in a headset, the sound defaults to the headset's speakers, but the default microphone remains the one in my laptop. I have not been using a USB or the S/PDIF plug; just the normal audio jack. So far I have tried three pairs of headphones: A TekNmotion Yapster Blaster headset, a pair of apple earbuds with the mic attached, and finally a Razer Kraken Pro headset. Based on that, I don't think it is the fault of the headsets.Additionally, my brother got the same exact laptop at the same time, and he is experiencing this issue as well.We figured out a temporary fix:Open the sound menu, go to the "Recording" tab. For us, there are three items present: "Line In" for the Razer pro headset, "Microphone," which I assume refers to the laptop's mic, and "Stereo Mix." By setting the default device to "Microphone," then unplugging and plugging the headset back in. It will now work, but only when the "Sound" window is open. As soon as the window closes it stops working. I have tried splitting the speakers and mic, plugging in just the mic by itself, but it will only work with a combined jack. I have limited knowledge of the S/PDIF input, but from my troubleshooting experience I found that it does not work with the split mic or speakers, or combined audio jack. Hi,
I have a problem with v580c I bought recently. It works very-very slow. Looks like a problem with HDD. All disk operations take about one minute. Lenovo tool reports WHD01V00I-BJ8A2D hdd result.
I live in Russia, our service centers are very slow. Could you please decode the error? Perhaps it will be possible to fix this issue without a service center.
    Thanks,
