Lenovo y510p audio problem on Windows 10 x64

Hi i am using lenovo y510p and i having some problem. After installing Windows 10 x64 I can`t use the 5.1 speakers connected via optics. At sound check box gives "Failed to play test sound"/
To solve these problem I tried:
1. Reinstalt drivers Realtek (tried as a version from official Lenovo suport and the latest version from Realtek);
2.Plug and unplug optics (Realtek Didgital Output) in "Sound";
3.Restart the Windows Audio  service.4. Reinstalt chipset and audio drivers.
Now the external speakers working in stereo .

The drivers listed for under Y510p was not the lastest for our audio hardware, hence why I gave you a link to (what I think) is the latest version. Those should have no problem working under Win 10 (and maybe Win 8.1).
Y510p has a "weak" audio chipset in the sense that it isn't handled well by the drivers providided on Realtek's homepage.

    Hi Dilip,
Are you using latest version of RDP version?
Did you check whether the required option is selected for audio redirection?
Please see whether you have selected below options correctly.
Also try to enable policy setting and check,
    Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Device and Resource Redirection
Allow audio and video playback redirection

  • 3000N100 Audio problem in Windows 7

Recently I installed windows 7 in my N100 0689CQA which has AD1986A audio chipset. All can work well with Vista drivers exept Audio.
In fact after I installed the soundmax audio driver for windows vista, the speaker and the internal mic can work. But the sound has some delay and always has noise before it comes out.
I think the current audio driver for Windows Vista is not so compatible to windows 7.Angbody has solution on this issue?Maybe the latest driver?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Lenovo E540 video problems on Windows 8.1

    Hi,
I've just recently bought a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E540 with the following configuration:
    - i7-4702MQ(2.2GHz)
    - 4GB RAM
    - 500GB 7200rpm HD
    - 15.6in 1920x1080 LCD
    - 2GB NVIDIA N14P-GV2
    - CDRW/DVDRW
    - Intel 802.11bgn wireless
    - 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav
    - Secure Chip
    - Fingerprint reader
    - Camera
    - 6c Li-Ion
    - Dos license
The first thing i did was to install Windows 8.1, as it seems that it's the preffered OS for this laptop.
After this, i've installed all the drivers from the Lenovo Support site and all the programs that i normally use.
This is when everything went wrong.
In Photoshop CS6 i cannot zoom in and out, the image always stays the same. Only if i minimize and maximize Photoshop does the program refresh the image at the selected zoom level.
In Sketchup the same problem, if i try to rotate or pan the image, nothing happens. After minimize/maximize, the image is refreshed.
After a small research, i've discovered that i can change the prefferd video adapter from the Nvidia Control Panel.
Everything was set to Intel HD4600 so i changed all the mentioned programs to GeForce 740M.
This didn't solve the problem, but changed it. In Photoshop for example, this time the canvas doesn't appear at all.
So, a little research later and i found out that by disabling the hardware acceleration in each program, they started working.
This works on either of the video adapters, it doesn't matter which one is selected in the Nvidia Control Panel.
So i thought that i had it figured out, even though a new laptop isn't supposed to work like this, bypassing hardware acceleration in almot all programs
But the problem appeared in Microsoft Office:
In Microsoft Word, i can't change the text color.
In Microsoft Powerpoint, i can't change the background color.
Even if i disable the hardware acceleration, the problem is still there.
Finally i decides that maybe the operating system has an incompatibility with the drivers, so i formatted all and installed an older Windows 7 that i had.
Everything installed from scratch, drivers and programs.
This time all the programs worked (Photoshop CS5, Sketchup 8, Word and Powerpoint 2010) from the start, without disabling the hardware acceleration.
But the next day, when i wanted to use Powerpoint, the problem came back. The background color doesn't change, and in Word i can't change text color. Even if i disable the hardware acceleration.
So i'm back at the beginning.
I've honestly thought of returning the laptop, as it's the first one with which i've had all these endless problems.
Unfortunately, the store's 30-days back guarantee have passed, almost all of them trying to make it work as it should.
If anyone has any idea about this or has confronted any of these problems, please tell, i just don't know what else to do, the laptop is currently useless.
Thank you for yout patience to read all this.

I am also having this problem. Cannot click either button. Really hope someone can shed some light here.

  • Audio problem in Windows 8

    Hello everyone,
I have a Windows 8 laptop and suddently my audio doesn't work. I have already clicked to the option that the system suggests and it fixes the problem by itself. However this wasn't successful. I found out that there is no installed audio device. How is that possible? I mean, I didn't do any changes myself.  In addition, one more problem seems to appear. I can not update Windows from 8.0 to 8.1. Do these two problems have to do something with each other?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Areta,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Notebook and issues with sound drivers. I would be happy to assist if needed as there are many models of HP Notebooks, I would need the model number. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Here is a link to The HP Support Assistant. The HP Support Assistant will help with the updating drivers if needed. After an update sometimes you need to check to make sure all the software and drivers have been updated. Restart the computer after the update has been completed. Here is a link to troubleshooting sound if you need it.
    Please let me know.

  • MW600 Audio Problem in Windows 7

    Hello,
I am having a problem with this headset, it connects fine to the PC (I am using a Belkin BT Dongle with Broadcomm Chip)
I have installed the Broadcomm stuff all is well it would seem
But on Skype or any other program where I want the Mic and Speakers to work at the same time I get no audio, it's one or the other
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this before I throw it out of the window (I may not open it first! :smileywink
    Thanks

It's hard to place where this problem is located.
Is it working if you use the headset with a phone? Because I believe it works in the same way (uses the same Bluetooth profiles)

  • Audio problems after windows 8.1 update

My audio volume has gone to barely audible after I went to 8.1 however only for certain things.
When I try to listen to a vidio clip on Yahoo or other news feeds I can barely hear anything and when I play
free cell or solitare and make a wrong move the audio warning is just barley audible.
However when I listen to a Facebook audio it comes booming in as before the upgrade. and when Malware bites
does a update the signal is very loud
I re downloaded the realtec audio driver for 8.1 and have gone through all the settings I know about
    and nothing works to help.
I would go back to the old Windows 8 ( I don't think 8.1 is any better anyway ) but I will loose my
Microsoft office download and some game downloads I have installed and have to re buy them.
    Any Help ?
    Aloha from Kauai Leon

Not sure when my computer got updated to 8.1, but I started losing audio at some sites around August 2014.
    Bob
Hi rckuehl.  It may have been caused by installing the Microsoft August 2014 update for Windows 8.1 - KB2975719.
Try uninstalling the KB2975719 to see if the sound problems go away.  If not, try installing newer Realtek HD Audio drivers as your E55-A5114 laptop uses Realtek audio drivers; original driver for that model was 6.0.1.7026.  The latest Realtek HD Audio driver from Toshiba is version 6.0.1.7329 which was posted 9-25-2014.

I have a MacBook, model number above. It was properly partitioned and the sound worked fine in Windows until yesterday. Now, no sound device of ANY sort is being recognized. It's almost like Windows XP doesn't realize there is a driver in place. How do I resolve this? Do I have to reinstall XP? I'm not a techie - how do I even do that??? Thanks for your patient advice.

  • Windows 8.1 update problem on LENOVO Y510P

    Hey guys,
Can't find anything similar to my problem and exhausted my options on this, so decided to ask. If it has been answered I couldn't find, so please point me out on the right direction.
    Back history:
    Have a lenovo y510p
Bought caddy & SSD drive and installed it onto laptop
Couldn't find a good doc about how to proced so my idea was
    1-restore factory settings,
2-Copied the Windows C: partition and the SYSTEM_DRV partition to the SSD using Macrium reflect
3-Went on the BIOS boot order and set the SSD to boot first.
4-Voila, works fine, boots C: on the SSD and it's super fast.
    Problem:
Windows 8.1 update can't install on C:. Bummer
I receive a notification saying that I can update to windows 8.1, which I want to do.
    1 Hit ok to download,
2 it starts the update process,
    3 finishes installing,
4 says it needs to restart
5-RESTARTS TO THE OLD DRIVE, changing the boot order on the BIOS (**bleep**???)
I then check that nothing was installed even on the old drive, proceed to shut down computer, change boot order back to SSD drive, start windows and receive a message that it couldn't be installed and it has reverted the installation.
    Has anyone ever experienced that?
    My idea now is to
    Back up my computer again
Restore factory settings (on old drive)
Install windows 8.1 to old drive
    Clone windows partition over
Change BIOS to boot up on SSD.
HOWEVER my question is: What happens when I want to install Windows 10 ? Do you think I'll face the same issue?
Should I somehow format the old drive's windows partition to prevent this from happening ?
Any help is welcome and I thank you all in advance,
    Cheers

Did you erase the recovery partition on the old drive? My best guess is to create recovery discs or thumbdrive take the old drive out and put the new drive in and use the discs or thumbdrive to restore the system. Then run the updates and then copy your personal information from the old disc to the new disc.
As for Windows 10, I do not know if they are going to be doing a clean install with the update to windows 10 or doing an in place update so it is hard to know what problems you will encounter.

  • Audio problem with T61 running windows 7

    hello,
After installing windows 7 Enterprise on my T61, I have no sound.
Driver seems to be installed correctly (Device manager), speakers taskbar icon looks & functioning OK, but i can't hear nothing.
I've installed the suggested Vista driver from Lenovo web site, but the problem remains...
I must mention that there was no problem while using Windows 7 RC, the problem started after installing a clean copy of Win 7 pro.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Eyal.

I've installed win7 over a dozen times on T61 models and never had a problem. Perhaps if you can provide more information, did you reformat your drive before install, or install overtop an existing windows version? If it helps, all my installations are on a freshly formatted partition. Windows installs working drivers on everything except the ricoh card reader, for that you just need to manually install the vista drivers from device manager and it will work. I then run system update and it installs newer drivers for some of the hardware, but like I said, never had an audio problem.

  • Will Kinect for windows v2(Xbox one Kinect) work with my Lenovo Y510p?

    Hello everyone,
Im new here and I have a question. I have a lenovo Y510p laptop with following configurations
    RAM:8GB DDR3
    Processor: intel i7 4700MQ 2.40Ghz to 3.40Ghz
    GPU: Nvidia 755M(No SLI)
    OS:Windows 8 x64
    USB 3.0 x 2
Physical Cores 4 and Logical cores 8
So when I ran the Kinect v2 Configuration Verifier it says
Supported USB 3.0 detected but with unknown bandwidth Kinect may or may not work. Will Kinect work one mine or not? Has anyone having Lenovo y510p got it working?
    Thanks in advance.

Depending on whether or not you have other devices sharing the same bandwidth as the USB3 chipset host controller that will be used for Kinect. The only way to tell on that system will be to connect a device to see what happens. The possible issues that
can occur are described in the troubleshooting thread:
