  • Lenovo Z90-7 root

    Hello,
so I've purchased the Lenovo Z90-7, or Lenovo Vibe Shot, and it came with a rom that has bloatware(like baidu browser and findit MY, du booster, battery saver etc) which I would like to remove. Problem is they are system apps, and I can't uninstall them unless I have root. So far I have tried eroot, towelroot and they were unsuccessfull.
Or, if there is an european version of the rom for this phone, may I please have it so I can flash it?
    Thanks!
I realize I took a leap of faith with ordering it from Singapore but I am impatient and since I did not know when it will be launched in Romania as well, I ordered it from overseas.

So the one I have seems official though not quite sure how to validate that....it is only English/Chinese version which is normally an indicator of official, plus no GAPPS also indicates normally......normally the custom ROM phoens I've bought have multi language (from the reseller normally before the maker releases and EU rom for example) and normally they are locked (not rooted) so that you do not update OTA etc as you would lose gapps and in fact go to the non multilanguage official version if you did so...the link provided looks legit to me....that is the site I am keeping my eyes on for the official Lenovo EU ROM - come on Lenovo we Europeans love your phones too especially this one....oh and I just realised I did not answer your questions, if you don't mind no GAPPS then official ROM is good, seems stable though battery life not as good as expected. You can get rid of most Chinese apps, except "system apps" such as browser....

  • Lenovo Drivers Insufficient for update to 8.1 - Driver problem - H430

Lenovo Drivers Insufficient  for update to 8.1 - Driver problem  (USB?) - H430
my lenovo H430 is about 6 months old - worked okay with preinstalled Windows 8
After update to Windows 8.1 computer no longer seemed to work well at all, although I am unable to provide hard evidence, but clearly it was not working as smoothly as in the previous 8 version with lots of irritating little problems - including sound.
One thing that very clearly was not functioning as it had in 8 version was the USB disconnect icon. In 8 you only had to click on icon and the USB selection window would open immediately. Additionally all USB connections would be shown - back and front USB.  Select the USB to be disconnected and it would be disconnected immediately (providing not in use). After update to 8.1 this was no longer the case.
In 8.1 disconnect icon no longer worked as it had done in 8. After clicking on icon there was now always a lengthy pause, followed by the sound of the computer working (whirring sound) and then after a while the USB selection window would finally open. Sometimes it was necessary to click on icon a few times to get any reaction at all. A small MP3 player I had charged up on my computer every morning (front USB) in windows 8, was always in USB list, and disconnected without problem in 8. In 8.1 it was no longer in list and only charged sporadically  (would stop charging, but if I clicked on USB  icon it would start charging again - although still not shown in USB list).
After about two weeks of 8.1 my screen suddenly - but only briefly - went black twice. I ran a sfc /scannow. problems were found but could not be resolved. I did a  Dism /Online/Clean-Image/RestoreHealth  this was reported as being successful.  About two days later my computer went into blue screen BSOD - "critical-services-failure" - from which I was unable to get out of. The only option open was the Lenovo restore option. Computer was returned to factory state with los of all data.
back to Windows 8 the computer once again worked okay - no problems - and USB icon once again worked correctly (including with MP3 player).
About 2 weeks later after receiving MS messages to update to 8.1 I called Lenovo support and asked about update to drivers for 8.1.
    the following list was given:
Chipset: Intel chipset Driver for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) Version : 9.4.0.1022
Video: CPP2 AMD DISCRETE VGA CARD DRIVER for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) Version: 13.152
Audio: Realtek Audio Driver for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) Version: 6.0.1.7030
LAN: Realtek Lan Driver for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) Version: 8.018.0621.2013
STORAGE: Intel RST Driver for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) - Desktop Version: 12.8.0.1016
I updated to 8.1 and then updated all the above drivers (no USB driver update was available).
The same problems as the last update to 8.1 and USB was as bad as it was in last 8.1
Some days later my computer went into blue screen BSOD once again - although this time did not stay stuck there, and quickly restarted - due to speed of restart I did not get time to read all the text and discover the cause of BSOD.
Computer is still running badly - particularly the USB icon disconnect.
Called Lenovo support but they have been no help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lenovo are failing us with the 8.1 update and the  DRIVERS FOR 8.1
    BSOD
all i could find was this: (probably refers to after BSOD - the restarting part after BSOD???)

I have now seen the suggestion by Tomaspoko and Brillow at http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-Edge-S-series/Windows-8-1-update-S440-ThinkPad-black-screen-wit...
Despite the AMD driver giving an error during install at the last stage of the suggested fix, this has now yielded a working switchable graphics for my S540 for the first time with Windows 8.1.  Catalyst Control Center also works for the first time, so thank you to both the above-mentioned posters for a solution that does work.
Hopefully in time AMD will release a non-broken updated AMD driver and CCC package.
Thanks again for a nice solution from this forum - the problem was driving me nuts!

  • Lenovo X2-EU rom for Lenovo X2-CU phone?

    Hello to all,
I have bought Lenovo X2-CU phone (dual-sim) and was wondering two things:
    1. Is the Lenovo X2-EU rom for dual sim phone? And if yes, could it be flashed in the X2-CU phone?
    2. Why isn't the lenovo suite capable of contact sync with outlook on pc directly. (Correct me if it is, but I haven't found a way..)
    3. Is there a way to have the theme center in English language? I only get Chinese..
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I have the same problems, more or less. I don't know how usefull that will be, but heres what i found out.
    1. About the EU rom, yes you could flash it but it's single sim only. You can check more info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/lenovo-vibe-x2-t2897967
    2. Regarding this, I can't say any thing, have not even try it.
    3. The "theme center" is a root app and you eather have to flash a diferent ROM or you have to root your phone, delete the app and install a flashable zip with the RAW apk for the EU version of the app. To my knowage such still can not be found. You can check here for more inforamtion: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/K-S-and-Vibe-Series/quot-Theme-Center-quot-installation-and-use/m-p/184...
I know it's not quite helpfull, but i hope it's informative.

  • Trying to install boot rom update on 10.7.3 - but will not

I'm trying to install boot camp and I can't install until I update the BOOT ROM.  I've downloaded the package macmini2011efiupdate.pkg and this coorsponds with my 5.2 model identifier.  I have already updated lion to 10.7.3 and I seem to think that maybe the boot rom update was intended for 10.7.2 and it won't let me install on 10.7.3 because it thinks it isn't compatible?
The message I get when I try to install the Boot ROM update is this software is not supported by your system.
    Sincerely, Kevin

Same feeling here... I am not advocate of mac. I bought one only for iPhone development. However the hardware is cool, it is my main home PC with Windows 7. For the OSX I left only 80GB disk space and the rest goes for Windows. Well, things would have been different if the OSX was workable the moment I bought it but it was not the case until this EFI update. Now I do not even think of get rid of the Windows.
Back to your case, what is wrong with your mac so you long for the update so badly? From the link you provided I gathered that your mini 5.2 is the one with ATI Radeon discrete graphic. Are there any problems with those? I thought only the HD3000 were so "crappy" because they were the cheapest version.
Anyway, if you slow down, do not expect too much, you will just gradually get used to the OSX philosophy. It's just different than Windows or Linux (on purpose I think). If you lunch Finder and Navigate to Application->Utilities there are the very useful things for start: "Grab" let you do screen capture and "Console" is like the EventViewer on Windows. You should lunch the Console, select "All Messages" and try the update again - look if there is anything logged from the update package which might help. You can also try to reset the SMC and check if that would help - if I remember correctly, the procedure is to unplug everything from the mini, wait ~5 minutes, plug only the power cord keeping the power button pressed for ~1 minute. The funny thing about that is that you have to follow it literally, I left the mouse and keyboard connected and I got wierd result - the fan was keeping at maximum speed. But try to verify the exact procedure on apple web, sorry I am a bit lazy now to search for it again ( I did it because I was desperate about fixing the sleep-resume problem). Anyway, again I would recommend not touching anything if you do not have any problems with your mac just because it does not want to "get something new". Just a common sense
Well, sory I just have scrolled up, and see your originall post why are you about the EFI update. It's really bad the Boot Camp does such check. It really does not make sense. You can do the install manually if you like, it's not so complicated. First go to disk management app in the Utility folder, and partition your disk formating the new one as FAT32 (the one which would be your windows partition). Next boot your minit keeping left alt pressed - you should see a list of booting devices so if you connected USB DVD (or pen drive with Windows - it's simple to do it yourself, just google for the recipe) you can boot the windows install. During the installation select the FAT32 partition and let Windows format it as NTFS and that's all. You can download from apple web a package for all drivers for Windows 7, and just install it in your windows. To choose which os you would like to boot, you can always do the left-alt select. I opted for installing rEFIt - it's really cool boot menu.

  • Looking for X800XT ROM Update

    Folks -
I just bought an ATI X800XT on eBay to replace one that I had that just went belly-up. The one I bought works OK, but has the old V104 ROM. I found a discussion on the X800XT from last April here - http://discussions.info.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11405844 on updating to the current ROM version.
Unfortunately the download link at MacUpdate no longer works. ATI/AMD has jiggered their web site so that external links to their downloads are rejected (or they've just plain taken down the file). I've been unable to find the updater by searching the AMD site. Does anyone know how or where I can get the ROM updater?
    Thanx - Andy

    Hi-
Here is the 2005 ROM Update.
IF your card has a 64k ROM chip, the update will brick the card.
You must have a card with a 128k ROM to use the update.
If the card has a 64k ROM, there is one 64k v109 ROM Here.
If the card is a FireGL, use This one.
Graphiccelerator must be used to flash the two 64k ROMs, and the included ATI MultiDumper can tell you what ROM it is that is installed. After dumping the ROM, click and get "More Info" to find out the file size.

  • Lenovo Solution Centre - Software updates: How to recognize which software to update?

    Hi,
I have Lenovo Solution Centre v2.4.002. When I am inside "Home" section, it indicates with "!" symbol above "Updates" picture that I have some software unupdated.
So I go into "System" section where I see number 1 above "Software updates".
When I click on "Software updates" there is only this information: "Go to Lenovo's Website to update the Lenovo software on your system".  But I do not know WHICH software I have to update. Lenovo Solution Centre does not told it to me.
Please, how to recognize WHICH program/driver is out of date and therefore LSC ask me to update it.
    Thanks.
    Mirek
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    @mirek...
It's a manual process. You'll need to open up Device Manager on your machine, double-click specific devices (such as Audio), switch to the Driver tab, and there you will see what version is installed. Then you can look at what is available in the driver matrix and decide if you want to update a particular driver.
The general wisdom is that it may not be necessary to update a driver unless your having a specific problem, or the driver adds some new desired functionality. This is especially true for BIOS updates.
    Regards.

  • Lenovo Launcher v3.2 Update (but in chinese language)

    Hi there,
Just want to share what I've found
There is an update of lenovo launcher that can be found in here http://launcher.lenovo.com/launcher/portal.php
    But there are problems
It is not good for persons who don't understand Chinese like me
The site is in Chinese (I used Google translate to understand them so i can download it)
Some of its parts, features and suggested apps are in Chinese
Clover doesn't use Google Play. It uses different app that is written in Chinese
What i like is there are several new features like
    Auto folders
It is more responsive than before
    Uses more lower RAM
In the weather settings, increasing weather city to county
    Lenovo S920
English s not my native language

I have the same problem. After a few tries the tablet somehow booted. But then after a reebot it was only saying "Fehler". Then i reeboted again and now on the boot screen there is a error massage which says something like: efilinux error...Reset source couldn't be retrieved. Falling back to.....Then the tablet starts, but in fact i get one error massage after another. The google keyboard crashes, it says that i have to reinstall google+, bluethooth stopps working. Even a factory reset could't help.

  • Need boot rom update, Don't got MacOS 9!

I got a dual 1.1 G4 for one of those gigabit ethernet beasties. Right now it is a paper weight cauz I don't got MacOS 9. You can't run the updater under MacOSX (panther?). Probably won't run under Linux either. Suggestions anyone? Can you download MacOS 9 yet?
    kevin

A friend of a neighbor loaned me a 9.1 install CD. It be flashed now. The upgrade seems fine (he says with fingers and toes crossed).
FYI: The actual "flashing" did not procede as I expected. I have this thing set to stop at OF. When I did the power on while holding the programmer button I expected it to do the flash then. It did not. It came up to the OF startup screen and prompt. The actual flashing happened when I typed boot?
Also, I initially tried to run the updater from a zip disk. It would not work. It did work when I copied it to the startup disk?
Yo Apple dudes, any chance additional boot rom upgrades for this thing will be OSX or Linux or OF boot CDs so I don't have to hunt for MacOS 9?

  • Lenovo g570 - problems after updating intel hd graphics

    Hello!
I think i came across a small bug. Don't know for sure which software is to blame, but i think it's the Lenovo Energy Management's  fault.
I bought a lenovo g570, with intel integrated graphics driver. Installed w7 64 sp1, drivers from DVD. After a while windows update popuped with intel hd graphics new driver. After installing it, the brightness indicator (the thing that pops up when u change the brightness from the keyboard) got stuck at level 2 even if the display brightness was changing.
After 2 days i changed my mind and installed w7 32 sp1  after finding out it was a bit pointless to have it these days when lots of programs are running on 32bits. The same thing happened on this windows. The brightness indicator got stuck.
The mind**bleep** thing (or not) is that after reverting to the old graphics driver, everything was working ok and the brightness indicator got unstucked.

Same here in Lenovo G 470, I have tried three times installing and rollbacking, but the problem still remains same.
Actually before updating graphic driver if you keep your brightness indicator at 'x' level, then after updation, it will always stuck at the 'x' level, although the brightness is changing.
But I think it is not a serious issue if everything else is working file, So you could keep your driver updated.

  • Lenovo Y570 problems after updating to Windows 10 from Windows 7

Hi everyone, I updated my operating system to Window 10 from Windows 7 four days ago and I am having a ton of problems. I lost a lot of my Lenovo interface options as well...  One of the worst and most annoying problems is that randomly, for half a second, the computer stops and thinks which freezes up my typing. If I am writing something, when it wants to freeze it prevents me from typing that letter. It basically overrides my keyboard well it does that freezing for half a second. Also, when I have a drop down menu it will close when this happens or when I right click, the menu will disappear when this "glitch" happens. One of the biggest clues I found is under the task manager. In the Processes tab, when this "glitch" happens "Windows Problem Reporting" pops up for a half second. I am not sure if that is causing this problem or if something goes wrong and "Windows Problem Reporting" pops up because of something else? Is there a way to check and see what these "Windows Problem Reporting" are? My other problems are that my fan control does not work anymore. I had the option to control the speed and the sound of my fan before updating to Windows 10. Would Lenovo or Windows 10 ever going to sent a drive to fix this problem? Also, I can not control my GPU switch anymore. Before the update I could change my GPU from Intel HD card to Geforce 555M. Now I have no idea what GPU I am using and how to go back and forth. Is there a fix for this? Since all these problems occurred with the Windows 10 update, would it be better for me to go back to Windows 7 and wait to see if Lenovo and Windows ever going to create drives for Lenovo Y570? Is it advisable to switch back W7 and switch back to W10 later?

Lenovo A6000 plus should recieve lollipop as its just a hardware upgrade over the Lenovo A6000. And it should recieve the update the same time as lenovo a6000. hoping it will start rolling out in next 3 days as Q2 is ending in 3 days.
