Lens adapter Sigma to Canon

Hi all,
I have a Canon T3i and recently bought lens Sigma 24-135mm f/2.8-4.5, but I just realized that it doesn't fit in my camera.
I would like to know if I can easily find an adapter and which one could be. I found one in Amazon, but I'm not sure if works to my camera, because in the description says that is for EOS.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CWXO64E/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1S9OMG83CAC4S
Please help me, if I cannot find an adapter I have to return the lens, and I have just some days to do it.
Thank you.

An adapter is not the answer.  You will hate it even if there is such a thing.  Adapters rarely work well in any case.
If it is "recently bought" you should be able to exchange it.  Really your only option.
Possibly, you bought it used since it is a discontinued lens.  So, in that case you should try to resell it after you determine whcih mount you have.  Don't waste any time or money on an adapter.

  • G1X Adapter - use with Canon Wide Angle Lens..and Telephoto lens

I just got a adapter ring for my G1X..to use with a Hoya cloe up filter.
I noticed..that the threads fit my Canon wide angle/telephoto...
have seen nothing about doing this..
and..also felt..the were to heavy for just a LENS ADAPTER RING.
    anyone try this...
    any ideas...welcomed..

Your samples look like incredibility simple images to do. I also suspect little artificial light was added. Possibly just a bounce off the ceiling.
Since you already have a Rebel T3i, I would get the Canon 430 EX, and just one. But be aware it will likely not provide equal coverage for a 10-22mm lens. Ten millimeters is pretty wide even on a T3i. Bouncing off the ceiling will help this.
Some ceilings may not be good for bounce either.
Give it a go and you will learn what works and what not. But the old saying, KISS, applies.  You will learn!
Photshop and/or Lightroom are great additions. They both have learning curves and PS a very long learning curve.
Still think your photographer is overpaid?

Is canon EF 24-85mm F3.5-4.5 lens is compatible with canon eos 6D ? is it work fully automatic ?

Yes, that lens will work normally on the EOS 6D with all automatic functions intact. Any Canon lens labeled as "EF" will work on the 6D, but lenses labeled "EF-S" will have strong vignetting (darkening in the corners of the shot).
Actually... "EF-S" lenses will not even mount.  There's a lip on full-frame bodies designed to prevent EF-S lenses from being attached.  It's not just a question of heavy vignetting and severely degraded image quality at the edges of the frame -- there's a risk of the reflex mirror hitting the rear-most element on an EF-S lens (remember... full frame cameras require physically larger reflex mirrors).
Any "EF" lens can be used.  Any "EF-S" lens must not be used (and will not fit).  Also, there are a few special purpose lenses such as the MP-E and TS-E lenses which will work with the 6D as well.

  • Photoshop CS6 No lens profiles (lens correction filter) for Canon 6D raw files

LightRoom and Camera Raw have profiles for Lens Correction and all the current available lens are  in the list for the Canon 6D raw files. BUT the Filter/Lens Correction when in Photoshop CS6 only have 2 Tamron lens listed. Odd that there are lens profiles for the Canon 6D raw files  in Lightroom and Camera RAW but not CS6 Filter/Lens Correction.
Camera RAW, LR and PS are up to date..... NOTE: I have a Canon 7D, G11 and 1D Mark II N and all their files work as expected. It's only RAW files created by the Canon 6D.
    Any suggestions.

To the right of where it says Search Criteria, click the little three-bars-arrow icon and uncheck Match Sensor Size and it should find more.

  • Is a Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM Autofocus Zoom Lens compatible with a Canon 1DX?

Sometimes just for fun hehe ... I have a Sigma 10-20 for my 30D. When I upgrade to the 6D, I still keep the old camera + sigma lens. I know I can mount it on the 6D, so I did.

  • Lens adapter question.

Can I adapt a Canon EF70-200 f/2.8L IS II USM ...and a Nikon D40X body? If so, what adapter?
    Thanks, Tony

Adapters are usually never a good idea.
How did you wind up with a  Canon EF70-200 f/2.8L IS II USM lens and a Nikon body?  This is a very good (the best) and very expensive lens.

  • Would a Tamron 18-270 mm lens work with a Canon T51

This forum has been a blessing to me, and I am asking YET another question.
I just purchased a Canon T5i and two lenses, 18-135mm and 55-250mm, thanks to the direction of this wonderful forum.
I am also looking for a lens that would work as an "all-in-one" lens for my travel photography, as changing lenses is not something I like to do on my travels.
Has anyone had any experience using theTamrom 18-270mm with the Canon T5i? Is it compatible with this camera? I read some great reviews about the lens, but do need some information.
    Thank you so much!!!!

Yes it will "fit" your T5i. Now will it work?
You already know my answer. I don't like off-brand lenses and this Tammy is no exception to that statement.
    You might consider one review:
    Slow and occasionally indecisive autofocus
Geometric distortion across much of the zoom range
Significant chromatic aberration at wideangle and telephoto (especially 270mm)
Macro performance rather compromised (very soft at F6.3, focus shifts on stopping down)
Uneven zoom action, zoom creep when not locked
    Slightly sub-par build quality
What you already have is better than most of the off-brand lenses out there. That first concern on the list should turn you off on this Tamron.

  • Lens Correction profile for Canon 18-200mm IS

    Hi,
I'm looking for a profile for Canon lens EF-S 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 IS - I can't find it in Lightroom and at the moment I'm using a profile for similar lenses from Sigma and at first glance it looks ok, but I have to manually find that lens at each photo, which is quite annoying.
I'm sure there's lots of people using same lens (as it comes included in Canon 50D PRO package which from what I hear is very popular), so maybe someone actually took an effort to create the profile using Adobe's lens profile creator?
If anyone has got that profile handy, I would very much appreciate if you could send me a link to where I can download it from or simply contact me.
    Thanks cheaps!
    Tom

You can choose "Save New Lens Profile Defaults" from the Setup popup menu, which will remember your choice of profile for the given {camera, lens} combo. That way you won't have to keep selecting the profile manually in the future.
Or you can create a preset.

I've created a lens profile today for theVivitar SMS 28mm 2.8 MC CloseFocusWideAngle C/FD on a Canon 60D using the Fotodiox adapter.  I sent it to Adobe for posting publicly.   If anyone would like to download it in the meantime you can find it here:

I might have messed it up.  It's my second time creating a profile and seemed to work fine for me in Lightroom.  Let me know if there are any improvements to be made. I used f5.6  and the imager was about 5 feet from the chart.

    Gtbehm,
Most lens adapters can be purchased from the Canon website.  However, since the adapter for your PowerShot A630 is not available on the Canon website, I recommend that you contact our Sales Department directly by phone to inquqire about its availability by calling 1-800-OK-CANON.  The Sales Department is open 8:00 a.m. to Midnight (Eastern Time), seven days a week.  They will be able to provide you with availability and pricing information.

  • Aperture 3.6 recognises Tamron 70-200 f2.8 lens as Sigma 24-105 f/4

I have been using the Tamron 70-200 F2.8 VC Di lens for over a year, along with Aperture 3, which correctly identified the lens in its metadata tag. However, in the past few weeks, I notice that this lens is represented as Sigma A 24- 105 f/4 lens. All other data is correct, e.g. focal length of image, aperture, ISO etc.
Not sure why this is happening, any clues on how to rectify this?

The EXIF tags set by the cameras are not unique. The manufacturers are using their own codes, and that may be ambiguous. In case of a conflict, Aperture will use one of the possibilities.  There have been several reports about incorrectly identified lenses.
Not sure why this is happening, any clues on how to rectify this?
Did you update any software recently, for example update the RAW support?
Send a bug report to Apple, and report the wrong tag.  You can use the feedback form:  Apple - Aperture - Feedback
The only other alternative would be to use exiftool to change the EXIF tags of the originals.  (Modifying EXIF tags of Originals Using exiftool: camera, lens, gps)  But before going to that trouble, I'd wait, if Apple will fix the bug with the next RAW support update.

  • Can I use lens I bought for canon 1100 d with canon mirror less camera?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes you can.  As Mike points out, you will need that adapter.
This is because a lens is designed to be positioned at a specific distance away from the camera's sensor.  On all EOS DSLR bodies (Rebels, mid-range, and pro bodies), the "flange to focal plane" distance is 44mm.  The EOS-M body has a much shorter "flange to focal plane distance" of only 18mm but it's EF-M lenses are designed to work with that shorter distance.  The shorter distance is possible because it's a mirrorless camera -- hence no need to leave enough room for the mirror to swing clear of the lens.
The other lenses are designed for cameras which DO have mirrors... hence they are designed for a longer flange to focal plane distance -- and this is what the adapter does.  It allows the lenses to be mounted at the correct distance so that the image will come to focus correctly.

  • CR 8.2 doesn't come up with lens correction profile on Canon 6d with EF 24-105 L 4.0 IS/USM

    Dear community members,
Some weeks ago I bought my new Canon EOS 6D with a EF 24-105 L f/4.0 IS/USM lens an I am absolutely happy with them :-)
The only problem that I run in to is when I process my photographs in Camera Raw. The thing is that CR does not come up with a lens correction profile for de Canon 6D with the lens mentioned above.
I do find a profile of the 1D Mark III, but this one does not work very well on the RAWs from the Canon 6D.
Does any one know if and (when yes) where I can find the right profile for lens correction? At the Adobe site I could not find the profile van this camera in combination with this objective.
Or perhaps there is another way to apply automatic lens corrections on RAW;s from the Canon 6D with a EF 24-105?
Kind regards and many thanks in advance for your answers :-)

    Hello,
    Thanks for your advice.
I did download the DNG Coverter but it did not help. So I decided to uninstall Photoshop CS6 and reinstall it again on my Mac.
For uninstall I followed the following steps:
    -go to finder
-go to the Photoshop CS6 map
-dubbel click on the Adobe-uninstall icon
This worked perfectly well without any errors.
Now I am running into another problem, a problem with reinstalling PS CS6.
I don't have a cd-rom with PS on it, but I have a downloaded a .DMG file which I bought and downloaded from Adobe (I don't have a CD-player in my Mac). This should not be any problem. But what happens is this:
When I dubbel-click the .DMG-file (Photoshop_13_LS16.dmg) the normal installation window appears.
After dubbel-clicking Photshop CS6 icon the following screen appears:
After selecting the Install icon the following screen appears:
The error message is in Dutch and says: 'install' excists on the diskcopy 'Photoshop_13_LS16.dmg'. Safari downloaded this diskcopy on 2 July 2013
The two buttons say: " Cancel" and "Delete diskcopy file"
When I select "Cancel" the application stops and when I select "Delete diskcopy file" it removes the Install-file (from screenshot) and the application stops.
Could you please tell me what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards,

  • Lens Detection - SIGMA 18-250mm F3.5-6,3 DC Makro OS HSM

    Hi Guys
I recently purchased the lens mentioned above as a universal and travel lens.
I did some shots to day and imported them into LR4.
By Default I always do lens correction when importing but LR4 detects this lens as "18-150" only, no make, no model.
I first thought: "damned, again this problem, I had it with that stupid Tamron lens" .... but the I did an import with the same raw (CR2) pictures in Apple Aperture and I get the correct lens data here:
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks for your help.
    andre

Was some kind of a preset (called "Lens Correction") applied at the tiime of import? That is what the first line in the History suggests to me.
However, just because it was called that, does not mean that it has succeeded in correcting the image. Perhaps it was intended to turn on profiled corrections but did not, or perhaps those were turned off subsequently somehow (paste settings, sync, auto-sync, another preset, something of those kinds).
If you want to see the outcome of using that preset at that time. (as opposed to, what happened to the image subsequently) then you can click on that topmost stage in the image History, and see what the various image settings then show. (Important: don't actually adjust anything at all until you have clicked back "forward" again to the lowest entry in the History, or else you will lose all these subsequent History steps.)
When lens profile correction is turned on (either by your LR defaults, as customised by the user, or else by a preset, or else manually) then in order for this profile to be applied to the image, firstly the lens used has to be recognised and associated with a particular profile.
Even if no usable profile is found, though, for a given image - whether manually selected Custom, Auto, or Default (which also pays attention to the user's customised assignments) - the state of this Enable checkbox should persist anyway, AFAIK.
If that was formerly on and then turned off, this will be evident somewhere in the image's full History - provided that survives.
I suppose that if the earliest History of your image pre-dates the introduction of the profiled lens corrections feature, the "Lens Correction" reference may relate to pure manual lens corrections. I used, long ago, to run a series of presets each directly applying barrel, vignetting and CA adjustments which I had "eyeballed" and then saved against one of my lenses. With later versions of LR, it is enough to turn on profiled correction generally, then each image will get whatever is the needed profile applied.
So I now need only one import preset to do that, instead of several antique lens-specific ones (I find it better to do it this way, than through LR processing defaults). But that antique metadata wqould not provide for the enabling of any profile - since such things were not yet heard of at the time - and profiles are not automatically turned on when you bring images up to a newer process version. You would have to actively make that happen - cancelling those earlier manual corrections.
