Lens correction in Lightroom not sending to photoshop when making a panorama

I cannot seem to find anyone else on the forums with this problem....
I have set the lens correction in Lightroom which does a beautiful job of removing vingetting and lens distortions.
However, when I go to "edit in"  "Merge as panorama in photoshop", it does not carry forward the lens corection.  The vingetting and all is visible which creates a horrible photoshop panorama.
I do not want to use photoshop's correction, I want to preserve the lightroom lens correction.
Am I missing something?
Any ideas?

Thanks!  All of my shots for this current interior shoot are panoramic.  At a halt until I can resolve this.
Lightroom: 5.7
camera Raw 8.7
Photoshop CC  2014.2.2 Release / 20141204.r.310 x64
Other notes:
- converted arw sony raw (from a6000) into dng and still no results.

  • Lens Correction in Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS4

I just upgraded to Lightroom 3 and make use of the lens correction feature in the develop module. After doing all my
adjustments in develop I click ctrl-E to take the photo into Photoshop so  I can tweak Levels. I noticed that the lens correction adjustments do not seem to be recognized by CS4 when the photo opens up.
Do I have to upgrade to CS5 to get the lens correction adjustments in LR3 recognized or am I doing something wrong. Thanks

    I am using Lightroom 3.4, x64, and Photoshop CS5 (12.0.3 x64) on Win 7 OS.
I might add that, based upon my situation, limited knowledge & experience, I have a number of images ( aprox 200), taken with the same camera/lens combination, for which I want to take advantage of what seem to me the most useful features of each software package:  in this case, the ability of Lightroom to apply common "development", first in lens correction and, later at the end, miscellaneous common settings; but, in the middle rotation & crop unique to each image.
Am I missing something, for I would think my situation not uncommon?

  • Do I need to use lens correction in lightroom 5 if I have it enabled in camera ?

Do I need to use lens correction in Lightroom 5 develop module it I have it enabled in camera ? (Canon 5D3)

Thanks very much John, I noticed when I applied it in LR5 it made a difference, but I guess what I was asking was it being applied twice, and as I shoot in raw you have answered my question, thank you so much.

Your camera will only apply lens correction (if switched on) to JPEGs, not to RAW files. Clearly you do not want to apply it twice.

  • Lens chromatic correction from Lightroom 5.7 to Photoshop CS5

When I open a raw file (NEF) from Lightroom 5.7 to Photoshop CS5 all modifications done in Lightroom are taken into account by CS5 except lens chromatic correction. Does someone know how to proceed to get lens chromatic correction taken into account too?

That's great, but what exactly did it - matrix (gamma) profiles instead of LUT? It would be good to know for future reference.
I have seen small problems with LUT profiles in Firefox, like black clipping up to value 6 or 7, but Lightroom seems to behave well with LUT profiles here. The problem with LUT profiles is that they are "heavier" and more complex, because they contain complete tables for all possible transformations - whereas matrix profiles do it by much simpler mathematical formulae. LUT is more accurate, but matrix simpler and more reliable.
Not that I think accuracy is a problem with Eizo CGs. Which is why it's a bit puzzling that ColorNavigator has LUT as default. I use mostly matrix targets these days, my feeling is that the simpler the profile, the better.

  • Nikon D800 Camera not listed in the Lens Correction Filter under camera models in Photoshop CC 2014

I do not see a Nikon D 800 Camera listed in the Lens Correction Filter under camera models. Is there any way to update this ?

The lens distortion corrections are encoded in such a way that they are independent of the body of camera that they were determined with--in other words they are in terms of millimeters not pixels.  The only issue is that lens profiles computed on a crop-frame body can't reliably be applied for the same lens on a full-frame body because the lens profile from a crop-frame body won't cover the entire full-frame lens image circle.
So as you're looking for a lens profile just make sure you're using a full-frame one if you have a full-frame or crop-frame camera, and don't try to use a crop-frame one on a full-frame camera.  I'd expect Adobe only computes crop-frame profiles for crop-frame lenses, and uses full-frame camera bodies on full frame lenses, so there shouldn't be a problem.

  • Manual Lens Correction in Lightroom 4

The Manual Lens Correction sliders in Lightroom 4 seem completely useless. They aren't working the same as they do in Lightroom 3. Instead of being able to fix keystoning of images, now the horizontal and vertical sliders just stretch or distort photos. Is this a bug? If not, is it possible to go back to the functionality from LR3? If this isn't possible, I'm probably going to switch back to Lightroom 3, since this is one of the program's most useful features.

    Lee Jay wrote:
... This functionality hasn't changed at all for me - it works exactly as before.
    I think so, too.
See my example in the feedback forum demonstrating the different effect of the manual transformation sliders depending on the angle of view: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/i_would_love_automation_in_the_lens_ correction_manual_panel : There is an automatic aspect ratio correction, and for photos taken with a rather small angle of view, this is mostly a stretch/distort. Which is totally correct IMHO (and hasn't changed since LR3).
P.S. I don't know which angle of view LR assumes for photos w/o information about focal length and sensor size (probably 50mm focal length and 35 mm film format ("full format") sensor.

  • DNG files will not open in photoshop when launched from lightroom

This just started, I can't open DNG files in photoshop when launching from within lightroom.  Not sure how to fix this.  the dng files launch fine from bridge.

As for your issue with DNGs in CS, did you bother to update ACR to version 2.4?
See the detailed instructions on the download page.
    >What I need to know is whether or not my PS CS will work with files converted by Adobe DNG.
Of course ACR will, if you correctly install Adobe Camera Raw 2.4.
No version of Photoshop opens raw or DNG files, only ACR does, hosted by Photoshop. But you do need at least version 2.4 of ACR, which was the first to support DNGs.

  • Micro Four Thirds lens correction and Lightroom

Obviously LR seems to use some of the lens correction information it gets from Micro Four Thirds cameras. This shows when compared to results from RAW converters that don't.
I have noticed this for my Olympus OM-D and the 12-50 mm zoom. Is that the reason why there is no lens profile for that lens in Lightroom? And is this the case for all MFT lenses?

    Yes redkaz,
If you go to the main lightroom forum page, on the right hand side, there is a Resources section.

  • Lens Correction Batch Application Not Working

Using LR3, I can set the lens correction then go to 'Develop Settings/Copy Settings' and the option is there for lens correction (I check all of the boxes under lens correction).  If I paste the settings to just one photo, the lens correction applies.  However, if I select multiple images to apply it to, it only applies it to the first image.  So now my fingers are worn out from applying it manually 275 times (with ctrl/shift/v then right arrow, repeat).
Please let me know if I am doing something wrong.
    TIA!!!
    Jesse

Thank you for the helpful suggestion Hamish!  I will keep that in mind as an option.
I did find a way to make the batch changes.
    1.  Click on the photo that you want to copy the settings from, then click the 'Copy' button.  A dialogue box will pop up to let you select what attributes you want to copy.  Select the attributes then click on copy in the dialogue box.
    2.  Highlight all of the other photos in the filmstrip that you want to apply these attributes to.  Be sure to include the photo you used to copy the attributes from, or this will not work.
    3.  Click the Sync button.

  • Copy/Paste settings always includes lens corrections even if not ticked? (LR3)

I'm having trouble with copy/paste settings on LR3, in that whenever I copy settings and paste them onto other images, the settings for the Lense Corrections section are always transferred, even though they were not ticked in the copy settings dialog. Can anyone else confirm this is a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Edit: Should have mentioned, LR 3.0, Mac OSX 10.6.4, iMac i7.
    Thanks,
    David

    I CANNOT reproduce that.
Do you have the lens correction box unchecked? or do you just have the four boxes under that hierarchy unchecked?

  • Lens Corrections in Lightroom 4

Can 'Enable Profile Corrections' in Lens Corrections be checked as a default?

    Yep, no problem.
Select a photo in Develop module.
It’s a good idea to press Reset, so that you only change the defaults that you intend to.
Check the Enable Lens Corrections, and any other settings you want as default.
Go to Develop menu > Set Default Settings.
    Press Update to Current Settings.
Repeat with a sample photo from each camera you use (and raw and JPEG, if you shoot both formats)
That will then apply to any new photos (of that format) you import from that camera, and any photos that you hit Reset.
