Lens profile for Sony A900 carl zeiss vario sonnar 24 - 70 zoom?

Is there a lens profile for the Sony A900 Carl Zeiss vario sonnar 24 - 70 zoom lens in Photoshop CS5 camera RAW? I have the latest update, the Sony is an old camera now and the CZ zoom is similarly old, beautiful thing to use but doesnt seem to be supported in camera RAW profiles or lens correction filter in CS5. I'm about to use RAW to process around 10 sets of 5 exposures to create files for HDR and want to syncronise the correction to each group of images before I begin to process them, after HDR process I intend to create a pano out of them so its imporrtant to get the lens correction done right at the start and applied identically to each image. Thing is that if I look in the Sony profile theres only a few lenses but no Carl Zeiss, if I look in Carl Zeiss it doesnt list the Sonnar 24 - 70.
Any solutions?

It appears  a lens profile is available for this lens using the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader. The profile does not have to be created with your camera model, just a model with the same crop factor or smaller camera sensor. This one is for a 1.5 crop factor APS-C sensor size.
The 24-70mm is available as well for a 1.0 Crop camera, which will also work with a 1.5 crop body.

  • Lens profile for Sony E 35mm 1.8

When will the profile for this lens be added to LR? The 35mm F1.8 has been out for a while and it is one of the best and most popular E mount lenses for the NEX cameras. I was hoping to see it in LR5, but unfortunately it's not. I was surprised to see the profiles for the new Carl Zeiss 32mm and 12mm 'Touit' lenses that just came out last month. What does it take for a lens profile to be added? Is there a particular page where we can submit requests or is it just whenever Adobe feels like?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Did you try the lens profile downloader? http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5492

  • Lens Profiles for Sony Alpha DSLR's? Share Yours!

Hey everyone out there, I wanted to make a thread were we could share lens profiles for the Sony Alpha DSLR system. I currently use the A-700 and the A-900 for all of my "Pro" work. I welcome this new tool with open arms as distortion is sometimes a huge issue when using some wide angle lenses.
I personally use the following lenses on a daily basis and will be making profiles for these lenses sometime today!
    Tamron 70-200mm f2.8
Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 (lots of distortion on the wide end)
    Sony 50mm f1.4
    Sony 70-300G
    Sigma 50mm f2.8 Macro
    Minolta 28mm f2.8
So lets see if we can get the most popular lenses for the Alpha mount profiled and ready to go to share with everyone and help make the Sony shooting experience a whole lot better!

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

Yes, I actually believe the difference is minimal. The optical distortions & vignette would be the same. Obviously when creating the profile, it would help to use the higher-res camera, as it would allow better recognition of a finer grid chart, but the light would fall on the sensor in the same way for both cameras.
I'm not looking to argue with anyone. I know things tend to get heated sometimes here and I don't have any desire for that.
Let's say we have different opinions.
Nothing wrong with that so long we behave in in civil way.
The size of the microlenses on top of the photo cells also differ from earlier CMOS sensors.
    That can influence the CA.
Color fringes, particularly noticeable at the edges of high-contrast photos, are is principally caused by lateral chromatic aberrations, where the lens — like a prism — splits the visible light into its different color components. DxO Optics Pro analyzes each image and automatically detects and corrects these fringes or irisations, thanks to its precise characterization of the fault based on the specific lens-camera combination that you use.

  • Lens profile for Sony NEX E 16mm f/2.8

I have made a profile at 1.15m focus distance (necessary with A2 chart printing) which has now been checked out by a fair number of users and seems to be successful over a wider range of distances. Created using f/2.8 and f/8 aperture sets.

Now all I have to do is find out where to send it to Adobe (a hidden bit of info so far!).

I have been asked to make a JPEG profile - here it is:

Works well on HDR tested image, also now submitted to Adobe. Uses same test shot set, JPEG versions.

  • Profile for Sony DSC-P200 and Samsung NV24HD created

    Hi,
just started plying around with LPC and create a profile for my old pictures from the Sony DSC-P200 and Samsung NV24HD.
I have uploaded/emailed them to Adobe, so they should show up in the near future.

    Hi simonsaith,
Is it the Samsung NV24HD (Samsung 4.3-15.5 mm  F2.8-5.9) profile that you added?
    Yes, that's it.
In the camera make drop down, if you type in "samsun" (which will trigger ALPD to do a wildcard search that matches any make that contains "samsun", your profile will actually show up. This is because the camera embedded "SAMSUNG TECHWIN" as the camera make for the EXIF.
Thanks for telling me. I would not have expected that I can do a wildcard search in a dropdown field there. I suggest making this more obvious in a next software version. I bet very few users are aware of it.
The naming things has some more traps. The built in lens' maker is actually called "Schneider-Kreuznach", but LPC seems to have issues with double names and creates a "Schneider". That's why I renamed it to "Samsung" to keep it in an existing group. I hope future software versions can cope a little better with this.
This seems similar to the behaviour when I put in "Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar ..." into the Sony DSC-P200 lenstype.
That special camera actually is also even more difficult for LPC when it comes to the model type. I did shorten it in the profile. The model is given as "NV24HD, VLUU NV24HD, LANDIAO NV106HD" which is a little clumsy when used as profile name.

  • Looking for lightroom lens profile for tamron lens

I am using lightroom 5 at work and shot some images with a canon 5d2 body with tamron 24-70 2.8 vc and tamron 70-200 2.8 vc lense. According to the note below, both lens are supported since lightroom 4.1.  However I can not find the profile of these two lens on lightroom 5.  Does anyone how I can bring the profile back in?  Thanks.

The ProgramData folders are for Photoshop and are probably as old as the newest version of PS or DNG Converter you have.
The lens profiles for Lightroom 4 and 5 are under LR's Resources subfolder:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom x.x\Resources\LensProfiles\1.0\
(x.x = whatever version of LR you have)
For my LR 4.4  I have the following 16 subfolders under LensProfiles\1.0:
    Apple
    Canon
    Fujifilm
    Hasselblad
    Leica
    Mamiya
    Nikon
    Pentax
    Phase One
    Samsung
    Schneider
    Sigma
    Sony
    Tamron
    Tokina
    Zeiss
LR 5.3 adds DJI and GoPro as manufacturers for a total of 18 subfolders.

  • Lenscorrection profiles for Sony Alpha lenses

Are there coming correction profiles for Sony Alpha lenses, like the SAL1650. Why are there only profiles fot E mount?

Limited Resources and Lack of Manufacturers Data are often cited as the two most common reasons.
    1. You need time to do it.
    2. You need a lens or better-the data from the lens manufacturer or both.
And, as always, you can create your own profile and share it with others via the Lens Profile Creation tool and Downloader.

  • Is there a lens profile for Samyang 14mm and Canon 5D2 ?

    Hi !
I'm thinking about buying a new Samyang / Rokinon / Bower etc 14mm wide angle full frame lens.
However, this lens has bad moustache distortion on stills images - not good for architecture.
Is there an Adobe lens profile for Adobe Camera Raw (Photoshop CS6 Bridge) for full frame Canon 5D2 / 3 or 1Ds 3 etc ?
It's needed for Mac - don't know if there is any difference.
Advice before I buy would be much appreciated ...

Yay that's great news ... and thanks for such a speedy reply.
Didn't know about the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader ... so have just downloaded it for Mac and found the lens profile.
Appreciate your help ... it'll hopefully be great for correcting the distorion i need.

    I downloaded http://www.photo-worx.de/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=49
I edited the .lcp file and set
    <stCamera:CameraRawProfile>True</stCamera:CameraRawProfile>

I created a folder for it, and put the Samyang14mm.lcp file in
    F:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.4\Resources\LensProfiles\1.0\Samyang
    and restarted LightRoom5.4
But under Lens Corrections, when I tick Enable Profile Corrections there is no Make Samyang appearing, and I cannot find the profile.
    What am I doing wrong?
Does anyone have a RAW profile for the Samyang 14mm f2.8 ED AS IF UMC that works?

I am guessing if you move them to the correct location they will show up.

but the profile doesn't show up under Make Samyang as expected, instead it is at the bottom of Canon, with Model Samyang 14mm.

re lightroom: I dont see the lens profile for my SIGMA 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM, how do I add it?

The profile for that lens is available for both Canon and Nikon. I didn't look at other brands. But the profile is for raw files only. Is the file you are using a raw file?
