Lens profile support in Lightroom 3 (Panasonic/Leica)

I'd like to see some "micro four third" lenses, like the standard lens of the Panasonic DMC-GH1-K, supported in lightroom 3, even though the lens shows very little problems only.

You can check to see if someone else has already created one by searching with the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader.

Where can I find Lens profiles for Lightroom?
    Thanks

    Alan,
The lens Profiles are included as part of standard lightroom & photoshop installation.
If you have a raw file in Lightroom & turn on lens correction it will try to find the lens data from EXIF data and would do the lens correction.
The lenses which are included can be checked by the link below :

  • Lens Profile Support LR5

Lens profiles not showing up in LR 5.
Working on a Mac 10.7.5, Photoshop CS6, and Camera Raw 8.3 installed. In Lightroom 4, my Canon 6D camera was supported, all lens profiles appearing in LR, was able to choose my Tamron 28-200 mm profile for raw images. Have installed LR 5 and no profiles are coming up. The profiles all appear in: Mac/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Camera Raw/Lens Profiles, on my system, but I cannot seem to get them to appear in LR 5 so I can choose my lens for "Enable Lens Correction" option.
Have opened a raw file in PH 6, Lens correction, my correct lens is appearing, but says it cannot be found online.
    Any ideas or suggestions, thanks

Do you have the latest camera raw installed for Photoshop? If so, you can find the profiles in /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/Nikon/ . Lightroom should recognize them if you move them into your home directory's Library folder in the exact same folder structure (but in the Library folder in your home directory). This is assuming you are using Mac OS X. No clue where these files would be on Windows. If you don't have Photoshop, you can install Camera Raw using the combined installer with DNG converter which is a free download from Adobe. This should (I think) give you the profiles in that exact location without owning Photoshop.

  • Lens profile corrections in Lightroom 3.6

I use Lightroom 3.6. The "lens profile corrections" does not have my lens in the drop-down menu. Is there a way other than using the Adobe Lens Profile Creator Tool to create this profile? The lens is the Nikon AF-S DX NIkkor 18-105mm F3.5-5.6 G ED VR, and I use the Nikon D90 dslr. I only shoot JPEGs.

You can check to see if someone else has already created one by searching with the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader.

  • Lens Profiles missing in Lightroom 3.3

I'd like to know if the lens profiles have being erased in lightroom 3.3....
I used other prior versions of LR and I always see my lens profiles...
How to enable or see them again??
Don't want to use the lens profile creator but something like lens profiler downloader (I saw It's named but I don't see any link to the application).
Thank you in advance for any help.
    Diego

The lens profile creator and lens profile down loader can be found here. Note the down loader is an Adobe Air application so you will also need to install Air if you haven't already.
As far as the Adobe profiles go these are installed with LR itself. They are specific to Raw or JPG's so may not have disappeared it may just be you are trying to use them on the wrong file format.
If they have somehow disappeared then you will need to reinstall LR, but check out this first.
The location of the Adobe supplied profiles is on a W 7 machine
    ProgramData/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles
Your own ones and ones downloaded by the profile down loader will be installed in the User folder.

  • CMYK ICC profile support in Lightroom: Workaround?

Ok, I know this is not the first time someone has brought this up and I know that Lightroom doesn't internally support CMYK printer profiles, and I'm not expecting it to do that given that the documentation specifically says it doesn't work, and it in fact doesn't work.
I'm using OS X (Lion). I recently profiled a Lexmark C543dn color laser printer with a ColorMunki Photo and the profile works great with Photoshop's "built in" RIP/CMS/whatever, but I can't get ColorSync in the printer settings dialog to recognize the profile. If I use the ColorSync Utility to force the profile on the printer, it also doesn't work.
What I would have expected for colorspace conversions when printing (from lightroom for example) is something like:
Melissa RGB -> ProPhoto RGB (or sRGB, Adobe RGB, whatever, using internal lightroom stuff)
ProPhoto RGB -> LAB (using a generic ProPhoto RGB profile that comes with the system or the software pkg)
LAB -> printer native CMYK (using the custom printer profile I created)
    native CMYK data -> printer
So I don't understand why Lightroom or whatever application doesn't "tell" the printer driver that it's getting data in ProPhoto RGB (or whatever) at which point the driver should convert to LAB (or whatever PCS is specified) and then to printer native CMYK with the custom profile.
Does anyone know of a way to make this happen?

I'm not a professional, only a hobbyist, so it took me a little longer, but I also have the impression that the new Preview ignores ICC profiles.
I noticed it when moving images between my iBooks built-in and my external Eizo screen. Since the gamut of the second is much larger, images appear rather different on the two screens. In Tiger's Preview, this resulted in colors changing suddenly during the move, when the center of the image passed from one screen to the other. This effect is gone and yes, the images are over-saturated on the 'good' screen.
Jethro555, could you find a solution to the problem?

  • Pentax lens profiles missing in lightroom 5

They are in Photoshop but not Lightroom. How do I get/activate them?
    Thanks,
    Cameron

I’m seeing the same number of Pentax profiles in LR 5.7 as I do in ACR 8.7.       Without knowing what camera you’re trying to find profiles for it’s hard to guess what might be wrong, other than you need to be viewing a raw file not a JPG.

  • Looking for lightroom lens profile for tamron lens

I am using lightroom 5 at work and shot some images with a canon 5d2 body with tamron 24-70 2.8 vc and tamron 70-200 2.8 vc lense. According to the note below, both lens are supported since lightroom 4.1.  However I can not find the profile of these two lens on lightroom 5.  Does anyone how I can bring the profile back in?  Thanks.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support-lightroom-4.html

The ProgramData folders are for Photoshop and are probably as old as the newest version of PS or DNG Converter you have.
The lens profiles for Lightroom 4 and 5 are under LR's Resources subfolder:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom x.x\Resources\LensProfiles\1.0\
(x.x = whatever version of LR you have)
For my LR 4.4  I have the following 16 subfolders under LensProfiles\1.0:
    Apple
    Canon
    Fujifilm
    Hasselblad
    Leica
    Mamiya
    Nikon
    Pentax
    Phase One
    Samsung
    Schneider
    Sigma
    Sony
    Tamron
    Tokina
    Zeiss
LR 5.3 adds DJI and GoPro as manufacturers for a total of 18 subfolders.

  • How to download lens profile for Samsung 16-50 mm F3.5-3.6 Power Zoom ED OIS to Lightroom 5.7?

How to download lens profile for Samsung 16-50 mm F3.5-3.6 Power Zoom ED OIS to Lightroom 5.7?
    https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support-lightroom-4.html
In the list, on web-page I can find this lenses (Samsung 16-50 mm F3.5-3.6 Power Zoom ED OIS), but I can't download it, because Adobe Lens Profile Downloader doesn't see this lenses.
Now in my Lightroom 5.7 I have only (for RAW images):
    * Samsung 16mm f/2.4 i-Function
    Samsung 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 OIS
    * Samsung 20mm f/2.8 i-Function
    Samsung 30mm f/2
    Samsung 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED OIS
    * Samsung 60mm f/2.8 Macro ED OIS SSA
    Samsung EX1
    Samsung WB2000 / TL350
    * - downloaded from Adobe Lens Profile Downloader
How to download profile for Samsung 16-50 mm F3.5-3.6 Power Zoom ED OIS ?

    Thank you for your analysis.
    In conclusion:
    - JPG images are corrected in camera
    - SRW images have built profile
    - the information in the list https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support-lightroom-4.html
is little misleading because suggests there is a profile for Samsung 16-50 lenses
I tried to make a 3 profiles in a Adobe Lens Profile Creator 1.0.4 for 16mm, 26mm and 50mm (but it was very amateur work, so I don't guarantee the quality)
    Here is a result:

  • Adding a Lens Profile to lightroom from Adobe lens profile creator

Hi, I just made a lens profile from the lens profile creator for my Canon 80-200 2.8L. I then added the profile to the 1.0 folder that holds all the other lens profiles. However, lightroom does not list to profile as an option in the lens profiles. Is there something else that I need to do?

While the more recent PDF link still works, the “Lightroom Queen” has done some recent website maintenance and the URL for default locations of files is different:
    http://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/lightroom-5-default-locations/
Obviously the link I provided had my username “Steve” in it and you’d be substituting your username, instead.  Also the AppData folder is hidden so you have to either enable viewing hidden folders in Explorer or just type it into the Explorer address bar and hit Enter.
The other issue you might have, which was already talked about in the preceding discussion, is that camera profiles are specific to raw or non-raw formats and if what is in your DNG is a JPG then perhaps it wouldn’t work.
Would you mind providing the DNG and the associated camera profile via a website like dropbox.com and if you have it, the original file that was wrapped up as a DNG?

  • Light room lens profiles

Does anyone know how to make this work reliably?  All my lenses provide exit data, yet if I have the lens profile set to auto it often will not assign the right lens. Worse if I choose a devoloo preset that specifies a lens, then set it to auto and then eg change the vignette or distortion value it will drop back to the previous lens.  The only sure fire way I've found to get it to work - or to make sure the right profile is there is to switch to another manufacturer and then back to the.correct manufacturer.  If it picks a lens I don't have as the profile then I've bussed wrong and have to pick another manufacturer. This is obviously Bonkers.
PS the new forums are virtually unusable on mobile. For design software manufacturers this is not great

Do your lenses have Adobe-supplied profiles that are listed on Adobe’s lens-profile page or are they ones you’ve created or downloaded because Adobe doesn’t supply these lens profiles?

  • Lens Profile Correction - Pentax SMC DA 18-270

Does anyone know where to get the plug-in to use the auto lens profile correction in Lightroom for the above stated lens? Adobe only have the older 18-250, and even on the new 5.3 LR version, still have not supplied the plug-in for this lens!

LR doesn’t use plug-ins for lens support.  The support is either built into the program or contained in external .lcp files that each new version update adds a few of.
Looking at the new lenses supported for the ACR 8.4 release candidate at Adobe Labs, which would presumably be added to LR 5.4, I don’t see the lens mentioned as newly added:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/cameraraw8-4/?tabID=details#tabTop
Looking in the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader, for lenses that third-parties (users like you and I) have supplied, I don’t see any 18-270 listed, either.
What camera are you using the lens on?

  • Lens profile for Canon 28/1.8 - already installed in LR4?

Hmm, the explanation of lens profiles and how to add them is a little confusing.
When I look here in Adobe's own list of supported lenses, my new "Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 IS USM" is listed there:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support-lightroom-4.html
Does that mean that profile should already be installed in LR 4? (I am running 4.4)
The profile is not showing up in Lightroom for me. (I am shooting JPEG.)
I downloaded the lens profile downloader, and found a profile for this lens, but is that the official Adobe profile for the lens? I installed it but it still doesn't work for me because it is for RAW only.
    Sorry for the newbie question.
    thanks in advance,
    Paul D.

JPG lens profiles are distinct from RAW lens profiles because cameras can fix things with the camera-produced JPGs that the lens profiles also fix and you can get double-corrections by using a raw lens profile with a jpg, but it depends on the capabilities and settings of the particular camera.
If you are sure your camera isn’t correcting geometric and vignetting issues with your JPGs, then you can hack the lens profile you downloaded to use it with JPGs, by editing the .lcp file with a text editor and change the flag indicating it is for raw files from True to False.  I forget what this flag is called, exactly, but it is obvious and near the top of the files.
On Windows, the lens profiles are downloaded to:
    C:\Users\--username--\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\
AppData is a hidden or system folder so you’ll need to unhide such folders in the folder options in Explorer or just type in the path an hit Enter in the address area of Explorer.

  • How do I download camera and lens profiles?

I am new to CC. How do I download camera and lens profiles and install them in Photoshop and LR5?

Hope this answers your questions. If not check back.
    Lens profile support | Lightroom 5, 4, 3 | Photoshop CS6, CS5 | Camera Raw 8, 7, 6
You did mention Photoshop CC, and Adobe Camera Raw 8.6 does have a lens correction tab
8.7 Release Candidate has updated ones as well. http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/cameraraw8-7-cc.html

  • Where do I get Lens Profile for lens correction in LR3

I have LR3 and need help figuring something out. I mainly shoot with a Tamron 24-70mm. LR3 doesn't list this lens under the lens correction so I can't correct any of the lens distortion. Anyone know where/how I can locate/install this profile? Do I get this from Adobe, Tamron, etc?

There are three Tamron 24-70 lens profiles, but all were added to the LR 4.x series:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support-lightroom-4.html
So the obvious solution is to upgrade your LR to 5.x for $80, or sign up for PS-CC+LR5 bundle at $10/month (for a limited time).
A more complicated way to get these profiles is to install the latest DNG Converter which includes all lens profiles, then copy the lens profiles you need over to the third-party lens profile under your Users folder and LR 3 should pick them up, assuming that folder hasn’t changed places between LR3 and LR5.
I am not a Mac person, but on Windows, the DNG Converter installed profiles would be under:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\Tamron
And the place to put them is:
    C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\downloaded
AppData is a hidden folder so you just have to type it into the Explore address area and hit Enter or turn on hidden folders in Explorer or type %APPDATA% in Explorer and hit Enter will get you down to the Roaming folder.
You can find the latest DNG Converter at:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates
